1) It can suck to not have canonmates, especially when you want them to move through canon. :( Have you thought about advertising for them? roleplysecrets allows weekly advertisements in the first comment now, and I know lots of people have started using that for specific casts or characters at games. It's got a huge reader base, you might stir up some interest! Maybe advetise there for a while, see if anyone turns up, and if not, you can still go ahead and decide for sure how you'll need to use them, then put in a request for each instance.
