SPOCK | STAR TREK XI [2/7]

[identity profile] inapropro.livejournal.com 2009-11-27 08:16 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History: Spock has, and always will be defined by his heritage. It is the one continuing theme sustained throughout the story, the crux everyone must carry with them, and the conflict within oneself that must be overcome to achieve true greatness. On the planet Vulcan in the year 2232, a child was born from Sarek, a native there, and Amanda Grayson, a human of Earth. This unlikely match would not come without consequences, and as the young Spock furthered his studies, many children would harass him for his mixed blood. It was not until by the 35th insult (as cleverly noted by the boy) when his tormentors accused his father of being a traitor that Spock did retaliate, and violently at that. Confused by the day’s events, he then asked his father why he had married his mother in the first place if it was indeed so wrong an act. Logic, he had replied. It seemed logical.

Logically furthering his studies, Spock would become one of the brightest and most promising minds of the future, applying for positions in both the Vulcan Science Academy and Starfleet Academy. Again, he was in conflict with himself. Should he follow the path of the kolinahr in which Vulcans have purged their emotions for centuries, a well respected training typical of his kind? Or did his destiny lead down the unconventional path, just as it had for his father? Thankfully, Spock consulted with Winona Ryder his mother this time on the matter, who soothed his concerns with simple motherly affection and pride in any and all his accomplishments. To an astounded council, Spock became the first to decline their enrollment into the Academy, and showed just a flare of well-deserved rebellion when he assured them that their record of Vulcan ancestry would not be blemished, as he would not be attending.

Upon graduating from the Starfleet Academy in the year 2254 with, to everyone’s great shock (yeah right) every honor conceivable, Spock would further program the first Kobayashi Maru exam. It was originally meant to re-create a dangerous situation on board a ship, forcing the student to face certain death and test their decision-making skills during. Later, James T. Kirk is seen breezing through the exam with great ease and a smug attitude, leading Spock to accuse him of cheating. No one had even come close to outsmarting the test – and as he explained before the jury, that was not the nature of the learning experience to begin with. A student must demonstrate the exceptional skills needed to captain a ship on their own in order to save the crew, or die trying.

Character Notes: Age unknown but older than Leaks so probably older than 40, but it's difficult to tell as Ribika may not age as fast as humans. Most of his job is as a medicine man/diviner/shaman type figure. Lives in Hokora, north of Ransen. I've taken him from Bardo's route.

History:
Sometime prior to the game he instructs Leaks.

During all routes of the game he first is visited to learn about the Devil's curse.

The next few times he's visited it is about the curse put on Konoe's lover (for that route) and he apparently manages to teach him meditation on the side.

Personality: Creep, tease, he enjoys unsettling people out and while he might hint at things he likes seeing people work things out for themselves. Though he will instruct those who can put up with him.

The Jujutsushi 2/2

[identity profile] ms-duck.livejournal.com 2009-11-27 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
First Person (entry type):

"So many interesting things to see." I lean back to look at the stars and feel a smile forming. "Hmhmhm."

The stars are quite chatty this evening, speaking of the strange little kitten and his stripe eared beau. The red moon that was coming and... So was a guest but that was what I could hear, not the stars allowing me to listen.

"Aren't you lonely enough~?" I know he is not there but one of sphere lurks and watches, listens for me. "Shouldn't you be playing mother instead?"

I can feel it's disgust and annoyance, but it leaves and that is fine. I don't really need the company even if my once apprentice might.

Third Person:

It was raining but that was quite alright, the barrel he used to catch bathwater with was low and even he felt the need to do more than just groom. His robes weighed on him and he felt the humidity with a degree of happiness.

The stars were muffled by the clouds and the disquiet of his visitor had dissipated while he worked with his herbs. The patient they were for would likely succumb to the Sickness before his fever could be treated, but he would make them anyway.

He'd been asked directly, after all and the father had managed to keep his patience. It was his duty. But there was little he could that the child's local shaman couldn't even with his own abilities.

Perhaps different herbs than were usually found around Meigi? Or perhaps an increased amount? But not for this child, with a bad star. A combination of the two will have to do.

He would do his best until Leaks' wrath took the child away.

[identity profile] crimsonobsessor.livejournal.com 2009-11-28 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:

History: As with the rest of his fellow Noah, most of Jasdero’s past is still a mystery. We’re given a few details throughout the series that seem to apply to all the members of the Noah clan. They are humans who have been imbued with the memories of Noah. Tools for his vengeance against God, they’re meant to destroy the Innocence that is His tool, a task which, consequently, often involves killing the Innocence’s wielder. It’s implied that at some point in each one’s life there’s an “awakening” to the Noah aspects of their existence, after which they serve the Millennium Earl in his war to bring about man’s destruction.

Jasdero’s individual role isn’t much more defined, but we do know that it’s inextricably bound up in Devit’s. The twins, as they’re sometimes referred to, are in fact a single Noah. During a fight with Allen and the others on the Ark, the pair sang a cryptic song that described a cradle in which one became two. Whether that’s a metaphor for their awakening or a factual account of them being split at birth is unclear, but by the time they appear they’re clearly two separate people.

Over the course of the series Jasdero and Devit are only seen a few times, and they’re mostly portrayed in a comedic light. When the Millennium Earl passes out the Noah clan’s assigned targets, Jasdero and Devit are given General Cross. He proves to be as elusive for them as he is for the other Exorcists; not only does he evade them numerous times, he racks up large bar tabs while he’s waiting and leaves the bills for them to pay off. What’s even more extraordinary is that they do it. They’re shown working off some of the debt in the kitchen of one of the inns, they carry the bills around with them, and when their chase indirectly leads them to Cross’ pupil, Allen, they attempt to foist the debts off on him.

The fight that ensues is their most protracted scene in the series. A short wave of booby traps eventually lead Allen and the others to the room where Devit and Jasdero are waiting for them. When Allen refuses to pay Cross’ debts, the pair attacks. They toy with the group and steal the key that is their only means of escape from the crumbling Ark. Jasdero and Devit keep everyone busy, but it’s all play to them until Lenalee’s chastising and Allen and Krory’s taunting finally pushes them too far. It’s then that the fight turns serious; they merge together into Jasdevi, a single, incredibly powerful Noah, and attack in earnest.

The group is only saved when the injured Krory sacrifices himself, choosing to stay and fight Jasdevi so the others can go on through the door. The battle between him and Jasdevi is brutal. Several times it looks like Jasdevi is the victor—he squashes Krory flat (quite literally), drinks the last of Krory’s akuma blood just to keep the ‘vampire’ from drinking it and gaining more power, impales Krory with his apparently sentient hair over and over again, and finally shuts Krory up in a massive iron maiden.

Thinking the fight is done, Jasdevi goes to the exit, intent on following and killing the rest of the group, but Krory attacks one last time. With his body ravaged, the Innocence in his body takes over, pouring out his blood so that it takes on a physical, human form. Krory’s attack catches Jasdevi off guard. The Noah sustains substantial injury when Krory slashes him, poisoning him with his Innocence, and punches into his body in order to take back the akuma blood Jasdevi drank.

They finally go head to head in a rush that leaves Krory nearly dead and Jasdevi slowly making his way to the exit. Saying he needs a rest, he separates back into Jasdero and Devit, and the pair falls into the door, apparently unconscious. Up to the current point in the anime, they haven’t been seen again, and in the manga they’ve since been shown in one page, looking…a bit off. It’s still unknown what kind of effect the fight and the Innocence has had on them.

Kristoph Gavin || Reserve || 2/??

[identity profile] devilofparanoia.livejournal.com 2009-11-28 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History: Kristoph wants to be the most amazing lawyer ever. He had made a name for himself and employed a young, budding attorney called Apollo Justice. His brother was due for his first court appearance in America, and Kristoph was riding the wave of fame easily-- but he wanted more. So when a famous magician, Zak Gramarye, is accused of murder, he asks to take the case. Zak decides that his attorney must be epic at poker and therefore challenges Kristoph to a game. Unfortunately, poker is a game that holds little to no control-- everything is entirely up to the fates. And so, Kristoph failed-- both when he was playing alone with Zak and again with Phoenix Wright. He the match and the case, soon discovering that Phoenix is much better (and in Zak's eyes, more trustworthy) at poker than he is and so starts his very longterm grudge against the older defense attorney.

Kristoph, angered that he lost, decided to frame Phoenix with forged evidence. When Phoenix presented it, Kristoph's younger brother, Klavier, had already been waiting to pounce on it (thanks to Kristoph's 'tidbit' of information). He manipulated Klavier into arranging for the man who had made the forgery to testify that Phoenix was indeed the one who ordered it, and this was the case that had lost Phoenix his badge. Naturally, Kristoph was thrilled-- but it wasn't his style to sit back and admire his handy work. He had to make sure Phoenix was miserable, and so he decided to become his friend and get on his good side by being the only one to defend his disbarment (much like what Edgeworth did for him as a child-- Kristoph most probably did his research to discover the quickest and easiest way into Phoenix's good books, and likely came up with that).

It was when Zak Gramarye committed a vanishing act that Kristoph began to get careless. He worried that with Zak's disappearance, the truth that he had planned to be his original lawyer might slip up and accusations might start flying about Kristoph's intentions and the forgery. He tried to kill Vera Misham so that she wouldn't be able to testify by sending her a stamp laced with poison-- but because she was such a fan of the troupe Gramarye, she refused to use the stamp and instead had it placed in a box. It was a minor setback, as Kristoph had thought he'd done everything he needed to do.

At this point, paranoia began to kick in and he desperately watched all those involved with the cases for seven long years. He managed to pull the wool over everyone's eyes for that long, but it was inevitable that his act would one day crack-- and the one to do it would obviously be his greatest enemy, Phoenix Wright (with the help of his own brother and his former worker, Apollo). As soon as he'd discovered that Shadi Smith was Zak Gramarye, he felt he had to murder the man straight away. Being a man who used impersonal means such as poison, it showed that under pressure, Kristoph wouldn't oppose to acting rashly-- he murdered Shadi Smith with a bottle of grape juice and attempted to pin Phoenix as the murderer.

This is where Phoenix began to suspect Kristoph wasn't everything he said he was-- Phoenix saw through his act and played his game, biding his time until Kristoph slipped up enough to get him found guilty. During the case in which the forgery was brought up again seven long years later (Drew Misham had been murdered), Kristoph acted rashly once again and gave Vera a special bottle of nail polish-- she applied it to her nails and instantly passed out (the bottle was, much like the stamp, laced with poison).

Everything came to light about his obsession with control and keeping his namesake. Eventually Kristoph completely lost his cool and was found guilty of murdering Shadi Smith, the attempted murder of Vera Misham and forging evidence.

Character Notes:

History:
Oh pffff. This way please? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Hungary)

I'll do a rough overview at least?

- 9bc until late 4th century ad the area that is now Hungary was part of the Roman Empire, according to Hetalia canon she was a nomadic nation until then
- the Magyar people settled in Hungary around 896ad, marking the beginning of Hungary as an independant nation
- 1000ad the first Christian King was crowned in Hungary, forced Christianization began
- Through the reforms and structurization that followed, Hungary became a strong kingdom
- 1241-1242 almost half of the population died in or from the consequences of the Mongol invasion, but after their retreat the country became even stronger than it had been before
- Under the reign of Vladislaus II (1490-1516), Hungary's military strength declined to the point of being crushed by the Ottoman empire, the country fell into near-anarchy
- 1541 the Ottoman Empire conquers Buda, effectively tearing the country into three parts (Royal Hungary under Austrian rule, Partium and Transsylvania, and the province of the Ottoman Empire)
- by 1699 most of Hungary was reconquered from the Turks
- Largely dependant on and mostly ruled by Austria for a long time after
- 1723 officially submitting to Habsburg rule (thus implying their status as a married couple in Hetalia canon)

...sadly, little has been revealed about her in Hetalia canon so there isn't much I can go on.

Personality:
Hungary grew up a tomboy. She didn't believe she was, in fact, a girl until she hit puberty and there's at least one nation who will never stop bringing this up. Due to the constant wars and invasions she grew up to be a strong warrior, in fact she's among the strongest nations in Europe at this point in time. Her time in the Holy Roman Empire's household and her marriage to Austria have calmed her down a little bit, but she is still confident, proud, and a fierce fighter. In short, she isn't the kind of woman you'd want against you.
As one of the oldest nations of Europe, she is also accustomed to the role of the older sister, trying to look out for those she cares for. She's kind and understanding and has a soft spot for all things cute, especially children and little nations.
While she will most likely never be truly ladylike, she does try to act more proper now that she is married. She's become Austria's support, and loves him dearly, finally identifying with her female side more, gaining even more strength and determination through her love for him.
On the cracked side? Elizabeta is a yaoi fangirl. She'd watch her own husband being molested, and gleefully at that, and maybe at the last minute jump in and save him. She will most likely be all over DDD for boyxboy stories, preferrably witnessing some first-hand. Just wait until she discovers the possibilities of the internet.

Character: Harry Ballard
Fandom: The Irrefutable Truth About Demons
Character Notes:
History: Harry is a pretty cool dude. He was born and raised in New Zealand and got his PhD in anthropology. When he's not teaching, he spends his time investigating and debunking cults as schemes that prey on the minds of the weak. Six months before the events of the film, Harry's brother, Richard, killed himself; Harry is still in the process of grieving for his brother, feeling guilty for not being able to prevent his death. Harry receives a tape at the beginning of the film, which indicates that a violent cult dedicated to a demon is out to get him. He doesn't believe it, obviously, because cults are always on his ass for showing how lame they are, but he quickly realizes they mean business when they kidnap him, drug him, and make it pretty apparent that they want to make him into their sexy Karl Urban slave. He escapes using some Indiana trickery and winds up with his girlfriend, who (like everyone else) doesn't really believe that he was kidnapped. (You know, even though he's got a collar and is bruised and bloodied and... you know, whatever.) So anyway, he goes home and smokes a joint in the bath, passes out, wakes up to find his girlfriend dead and cops swarming his house. Does he go with the cops to try and prove his innocence? No, of course not! He instead runs to a hotel, calls his friend and has a hallucination of a demon trying to kill him.

His friend shows up, then summarily gets killed; Harry panics when he sees the demon, is saved by a schizophrenic girl named Benny, they get chased by the demon, etcetera. Benny tells Harry that the warlock of the cult has it in for him (no, really?) and Harry, like any good skeptic, doesn't believe it or the demon that was running around after them. He ends up seeing his dead girlfriend with the warlock, and the two follow her back to his old apartment. Harry confronts his girlfriend who tells him that he's been running around high out of his mind, and has been abusing drugs since the death of his brother. He buys this (Occam's razor, after all, indicates that the simpler explanation is true) but, as he's passing out on his bed, his girlfriend asks about Benny. He had never mentioned Benny, who's waiting for him outside - he goes to warn her but the cult appears and... the warlock basically wants Harry's soul. You see, Harry has a power within him (of course, he doesn't even realize it) and with it, the warlock hopes to attain unfathomable powers from the demons they worship/control.

Harry has less than 6 hours to master his powers and take his soul back, but he spends at least three of them sleeping with Benny. Then, he has a dream where his brother's spirit shows him where to go. It's revealed that Benny is the warlock's daughter and Harry, just in time, recovers his soul. The demons devour the warlock and Harry passes out. When we come back, Harry is in an asylum, having pled insanity for the death of the warlock. Harry's girlfriend shows up to tell him that he's mastered the power and, by the way, she killed his brother. He's locked up in an asylum because, of course, nobody believes him about the demons.

Benny and him become crazyhouse lovers and Harry is mastering his abilities, which includes bringing small things (in this case, insects) back to life. The last scene shows his girlfriend getting her just desserts.

Harry; Truth About Demons 2/2

[identity profile] devilishkurumi.livejournal.com 2009-11-30 11:05 am (UTC)(link)
Personality: Harry is pretty sarcastic/haughty about everything ever. He's also a bit of a prankster; he and his friend like to try and scare the living bejeezus out of each other. He's a huge skeptic, believing only in the facts. It makes it hard for him to believe pretty much anything that isn't something he can measure with science. He's also severely jaded and tends towards the more cynical life views.

Other: I'm going to be playing a little from pre-movie to get some initial CR and vibes down, then go through the canon very quickly. Uhh, after that we'll see how/if he's going to get out of crazytown. Oh, and his shirt is perpetually being stolen by demons.

Additional Links: There's not much out there; Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Irrefutable_Truth_about_Demons) treats it about as seriously as I do, but there's also the official site (http://www.demons.co.nz/).

First Person (entry type):
Today's hate mail count is in the staggering double digits. I swear, it's as though every cult follower out there has nothing better to do than harass me for documenting the facts. And what's worse, most of the time they can't even be bothered to use some goddamned proof-reading before they send the shit out. I guess I should at least be grateful that most of them don't seem to own computers, otherwise I'd be inundated with badly spelled, grammatically-suicidal e-mails every five minutes.

The one in Latin, though, that was pretty good. I had to get another professor to translate it; we both had a good laugh at the fact that they basically were rehashing the shit from Army of Darkness. I wonder how Bruce Campbell feels about being a god in a cult.

Third Person:
Harry wants to be the kind of guy who runs six miles every morning before work, drinks green tea and believes in wheatgrass supplements. Once, he remembered being the kind of guy who at least had something to believe in, something imaginary and grand, warm even - maybe it was his brother, now that he thinks back on it. He never believed in God, but he believed in his brother.

Instead of being that kind of guy, though, Harry wakes up six minutes late, drinks his coffee black and barely has time to kiss his girlfriend before he rushes to the university. After classes are over and he has time to grade a few papers, he settles in with a pile of angry letters and a laptop full of research on mock-religious cults that believe in something imaginary, like he used to. He knows they don't really believe it; shit, L. Ron Hubbard never believed in the shit he wrote, Harry's sure - it's all just a way to get money. Use and abuse and throw people away like garbage, leaving them slitting their wrists and dying before their brother can -

He finds a letter from a cult survivor and reads her words of hope and wishes he could believe that she was doing as good as she says she is. He writes down her name in a notebook and decides to be at least mildly grateful that he could help one more person, for however long it was.

Character Notes:
History: History in a Nutshell/International Relations. (http://bubbleteatime.livejournal.com/1408.html#cutid1) I compiled the information myself, so I hope this is alright.
Personality:
Essentially, Taiwan is a sweet, cheerful girl. She is very trendy and likes keeping up with the times, following the latest fashions from Japan. Her hobbies include cosplaying and karaoke, which she both likes making social activities. Another hobby of hers is going against her older brother China's traditionalist beliefs with her own radical ideas. (i.e. freedom of the press) Due to staying with them for a long period of time, she can't deny that some of Japan's and China's traits have rubbed off her, such as Japan's quirky innovation and China's brashness and pride.

She is studious and is able to focus well on her studies, which is why she gets high marks in math and science. The fact that Korea gets just as high as she does annoys her. Her determination is where she outranks him, though. In fact, she is assertive when it comes to getting what she wants. She can also be very stubborn to the point of being bossy sometimes. She's also a little spoiled.

Taiwan claims to be independent, pushing China away whenever he tries to persuade her otherwise. Even so, the older Asian nations treat Taiwan like a little sister and she is not very fond of it. She insists that she is mature enough to handle situations on her own, but gets very feisty when it comes to arguments with anyone who tries to pick on Japan. Because of this, she isn't taken seriously that often and relies on America to make her voice heard. Despite her teenage rebellion, she is always on her toes lately due to her current situation with China. Although she may be brash with her older brother, she is careful not to cross the line and make him snap.

Among all Asian countries, she is closest to Japan, whom she admires so much that she defends him with fervor. When around him, she attempts to act more like how he taught her to back then but often loses her cool once people get on her nerves, especially China and Korea. This might be because she was a badass pirate once, raiding America's and France's ships even when China told her not to.

Ever since most of the world switched recognition to her brother, she has been constantly looking for new friends. She is on good terms with America and the EU and often crashes Canada's house with her brothers whenever she pleases.

Other:
She's into anime, manga and online gaming (although not as hardcore as Korea). She's very much into J-pop and because of the Hallyu, K-pop. She also likes bubble tea. A lot.

Anti Fairies are evil magical creatures that cause bad luck with their magic. Each Anti - Fairy is a counterpart to a Fairy Godparent, which is wish granting magical creature. Their biggest holiday is Friday 13th, which is a day of Bad Luck. The Anti Fairies escape from Anti Fairy world and slip into the human world and cause horrible bad luck, poofing a black cat to cross your path, or maybe breaking a mirror for you. Which in turn, causes vary of terrible things to happen as a result. Outside of bad luck, Anti – Fairies are also responsible, for the following;
- Spiders
- Paper cuts
-Mad Cow Disease
-Pink eye
The only known way to counter this is to have good luck charms on you.
Anti – Cosmo’s early history is unknown, however can be assumed to be the opposite of Cosmo Cosma.
Anti - Cosmo has existed as long as Cosmo (about 10,000 years) and is the commander of the Anti- Fairies, due to his intelligence and ability to lead. Anti – Cosmo’s main goal is universal domination.
The Anti-Fairies are usually locked away in Fairy World. However, one Friday the 13th, Timmy Turner became annoyed with the bad luck he was facing and decides to free the Anti- Fairies so he can talk to them. Timmy lets them out and they get to Earth but Timmy manages to trick them back using their attraction to bad luck, which they have an ability to smell it, against them.
After that, the Anti - Fairies were locked away in another prison and Anti -Cosmo was put in a higher security area, since he seemed to be more dangerous than the other Anti - Fairies.
Later on, Cosmo’s Fagiggly gland, which is an organ in Fairies and Anti - Fairies have allowing them to change shape, was failing and he needed a transplant. Since Cosmo is an only child Anti - Cosmo was the only one who could supply a donor. However, Jorgen wouldn’t free Anti -Cosmo for the operation so, Timmy decided to bust Anti -Cosmo out. First, Timmy tries a drill, which fails because Fairy World built on a cloud. Next, Timmy tried hosting a prison track meet but that didn’t work. Next, they airlifted Anti-Cosmo out of the prison but Cosmo involuntarily changed shape and they fell and Anti – Cosmo landed back up in jail.
Finally, Anti- Cosmo sent them his own escape plan. Timmy, Cosmo and Wanda, pretended to be laundrymen, while Anti- Cosmo hid under the hubcap on one of the tires predicting that Jorgen would assume Anti – Cosmo was hiding in the laundry (the more obvious place)

Re: AntiCosmo

[identity profile] hazy-chan.livejournal.com 2009-11-30 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
That worked until Anti-Wanda blew his secret. The prison went into lockdown and they only escaped because Cosmo was able to turn into a key and remain one long enough to unlock the prison doors. They rushed to meet with Dr. Rip Studwell, who performed the operation. Later Anti- Cosmo escaped again and warned Cosmo not to look for him (unfortunately he was right behind Cosmo)
Before he leaves Anti - Cosmo says something sounding like Cosmo, making Wanda and Timmy wonder if more than their fagiggly glands got switched.
Anti -Cosmo came back to the prison in Fairy World, another Friday the 13th, to free his Anti - Fairies but got caught by Jorgen. Anti - Cosmo managed to use his bad luck to escape but as punishment Jorgen removed the Anti -Fairies’ ability to be invisible on Earth. Jorgen made a comment about other universes which got Anti -Cosmo thinking maybe there are other universes.
Later he goes to Earth and meets Professor Calamitous and makes a deal: If the Professor helps to free the Anti- Fairies, Anti- Cosmo said, he will do something for the Professor. The Professor frees the Anti- Fairies but when he returns to receive his end of the bargain Anti -Cosmo double crosses him and locks him up with Jorgen. The Professor accuses Anti - Cosmo of lying and Anti- Cosmo replies; “Yes, I do that from time to time, it’s almost like I’m evil. Ta!” Anti – Cosmo then leaves.
After that, Anti - Cosmo begins his master plan. He gets half of the Anti - Fairies to go about and cause bad luck and the other half will circle the Earth at a hypersonic speed, keeping the Earth still, insuring that Saturday the 14th never comes but Timmy and his friends cause enough bad luck to lure the Anti - Fairies and then after launching the biggest bad luck trap of all Timmy and Jimmy manage to trap Anti -Cosmo and the Anti - Fairies in an infinite space storage cube with a butterfly net.
Somehow, Anti - Cosmo and his fellow Anti Fairy, get out of the cube (it is never stated how how) because of a wish Timmy makes Cosmo has a Fairy Baby and the Anti-Fairies find out when; Jorgen Wanda and Timmy burst in accusing them of kidnapping Cosmo to get to the baby and its uncontrolled fairy powers. Cosmo has the baby, and Anti- Cosmo, Head Pixie and Sanderson immediately try to kidnap the child on their own and both attempts fail. They start a chase and after a while, Timmy offers to go home with Poof because no one would expect it. Wanda and Cosmo, reluctantly agree, and Timmy keeps tabs on Poof for a while until ‘Jorgen’ appears and demands the baby. Timmy hands the baby to him after a bit of uncertainty, and a lightning bolt striking him because of Poof’s power (when he burps lightning strikes) Then ‘Jorgen’ turns out to be H.P. and Anti - Cosmo working together in a Jorgen suit. They leave with Poof and begin their plan. Timmy meets up with the real Jorgen, Wanda and Cosmo, and begins a plan to bring Poof back. They sneak into Anti – Cosmo’s castle but get caught by H.P and Sanderson.
Then, Timmy breaks out again and sees their plan. H.P and Anti- Cosmo are using a machine to take Poof’s magic and transfer it to the Anti Big Wand.
Timmy uses Poof’s own power to break him free and attack the bad guy. Then Cosmo gives Poof a burrito which upsets his stomach and causes a huge burst of power that distracts AC and Sanderson enough to let Jorgen catch them and turn them both into cereal.

宮前かなこ☆彡 (Pt. 2)

[identity profile] overheats.livejournal.com 2009-12-03 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History:
Not much of Kanako’s history is explored during the course of the series. She is just a girl enrolled into Ame no Kisaki (a prestigious all-girls’ school) where she looks to find love as her parents did. It’s been established that her parents found each other and began a relationship at the school, thus leading Kanako to follow the same path for her love life.

Most importantly, though, Kanako has built a strong fear of men since childhood. After contributing events that consisted of a few boys stealing her sports uniform and a part of her musical recorder, Kanako could never face another boy again. Thusly, if a man so much as even touches her, she will break out in hives and pass out. And so, on the path of her love life; Kanako wants to meet a girl.

Sadly, the first person she meets happens to be a sadistic trap who pretty much tortures her whenever he can. His name is Mariya, and Kanako thought that ‘Mariya’ was just your average pretty girl. Wrong. So very wrong. She like him when they first meet but once she stumbles upon the fact that he is actually male, her life goes to hell. He kicks out her dorm mate and moves in with his robotic and insulting maid, which ultimately give the story its charm. Kanako gets the joy of living with him for her entire school life. &hearts

Personality:
A lesbian pervert. But no, seriously, it’s difficult to elaborate on her personality because of the short canon period; but mainly, she acts as the protagonist and source of comic relief. She finds herself in masochistic situations around the school about a billion times, making her easy to sympathize with. She has to endure a range of monstrous bags, killer traps and bad test scores… many of these situations arey derived from her perverseness or Mariya’s doings. But Kanako tries to view them optimistically and persevere through it all. She prays to her mother, just to reflect on her daily life and has keeps the hope that one day she will meet her true love. That’s why she doesn’t give up easily when there is so much to loathe about.

Kanako also tries to befriend a lot of the girls (out of sheer horniness 99.99% of the time) and treat them like a good friend, however, it is obvious she is attracted to every one of them. Kanako suffers from mass nosebleeds which no one takes real notice of. At times, she acts like a blatant lesbian and makes disturbing comments about another girl… but no one takes her seriously except Mariya. Kanako cannot resist a (pretty) girl and will do almost anything for them. She has no certain type and will find every woman attractive, thus making her a huge lesbian pervert and the comic relief of the story.

Other: She aims to be a bigger lesbian than Karen. Also, I blame Fedora for this. 8( I-I SHOULD STOP SPAMMING THE APPS PAGE TOO, /SOBS FOREVER.

[identity profile] quicksavensmoke.livejournal.com 2009-12-04 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History:
Not much is known about Neku's history. Even as the main character of The World Ends With You he's quite possibly (and easily) one of the characters you get the least amount of backstory about. What we do know is that Neku is a boy who was born and raised in Shibuya, Japan. Around mid-story we get what could be a possible look into an even that might have happened to him in the past involving the death of someone close to him. But if this is true or who that person is, is a mystery. In fact, straight from the beginning you find out that Neku is dealing with a severe case of memory loss. He doesn't remember anything about him or his life past his name.

Personality:
Neku is a young boy that doesn't care about much - interaction wise. He really couldn't care about others. What they're thinking, what they do, what they say. He's rather be alone with his music than be with or even around others. Understanding others is far from his strong point, and feels that being close to others will only bring him down in the long run and being close to people and forging any sort of tie is just plain pointless. Neku feels as if the world is constantly forcing their thoughts and ideals onto him, and that it expects him to do things he doesn't want.

As time went on however during the 'game' Neku was forced to play in the story, he slowly opens and slowly softens to others especially those he was forced to work with. Seeing their weaknesses and struggles as well as their strengths opened his eyes as he was forced to communicate and work with them.

Other:
Neku is apparently a master in the very rare ability of Psychomancy; or, the use of Psychs.
He's a big fan of graffiti, and has been shown admiring walls of large-scale graffiti paintings in scenes.
He admires the motto 'do what you want, when you want, where you want.'

Character Notes:
I made some edits to a previous application (only on the history section)-> http://community.livejournal.com/i_s_l_a_n_d_ooc/696751.html?thread=17204399#t17204399

History:
In order to prevent the world from being engulfed in chaos and insanity, Shinigami (Lord Death) created the Death Weapon Meister Academy (or Shibusen). The purpose of this school is to serve as the training grounds for weapons who take on human form and their meisters to prevent the re-birth of kishin. Kishin is the evil demon god that almost brought the world into chaos until Shinigami put a stop to him by ripping off his flesh and making it into literally a “meat bag” to store Kishin’s body. So in order to prevent the re-birth of Kishin to happen, weapon technicians and their weapons would hunt the souls of 99 evil humans and 1 witch to forge a weapon worthy enough for Shinigami to wield. Something they call a “Death Scythe”.

Thus we turn to our man of the hour, Death Scythe. Formerly known as Spirit, he enrolled into Shibusen and partnered up with his first meister, Franken Stein. The partnership was uncanny from the get go with Stein experimenting on Spirit whenever he would fall asleep and Spirit flirting with women during class. Though, despite their quirks, it turns out the two make quite the butt-kicking team. But alas, Spirit found another partner, Kami, who would be the one to forge him into a Death Scythe. Him and Kami then married and had their only child, Maka.

This happy family did not last long when Death Scythe’s libido caused Maka’s mother to have a divorce. It was not that he ever directly cheated on his wife with someone else, it is because his mind did not know when to draw the line to stop making kissy-faces with other women. Along with being divorced, his own daughter has a major dislike for him because of his flirtatious tendencies but this does not stop Death Scythe from trying to be the best father he can be.

In the present, Death Scythe works at Shibusen by Shinigami’s side as his weapon. And when he has some free time, you can find him having some drinks at the cabaret bar.

Personality:
Death Scythe has a tough, ‘in your face’ exterior but his emotional reactions make him come off like a complete goof. He is very affectionate and is not shy of showing it onto others no matter how embarrassing it is. When it comes to his interactions with other people, he’s a pretty nice guy with a good heart.
Being a father, Death Scythe would do anything to protect Maka and make her happy. Sometimes it might come off as a bit over obsessive. If he sees someone making the wrong moves on her, he’ll be sure to bark at them. He tries his best to be the best father he can be. Even when Death Scythe is around beautiful women at the bar, he can go on for hours about how much he loves his daughter. He would pretty much go to great lengths for her.
You may see Death Scythe be a complete flirt but that’s all he takes it too. His loyalty to his family, the slight sense of guilt he feels when he is around women prevents him from taking it to a sexual level.
Being the weapon Shinigami wields into battle, he does not take this role lightly. When trouble is about to emerge, the gloves are off. His goofball reactions are replaced with a cool head in serious situations.

Other:
-He’s a weapon that turns into a scythe.
- As far as his relationship goes with Franken Stein, he is still friends with him but still is traumatized from all the experiments he has undergone in the past when they were partners.

Character Notes:
    HISTORY:
Cut to a dark dorm room. There are two figures on the bed: a man kissing his way up a woman’s stomach. His lips reach hers; they kiss, and when they part for air, a smile shows on her silhouetted face and she tells him she thinks she loves him. His response? “That is so weird.” The woman, unimpressed, commands, “lights” and the room illuminates. The man is James T. Kirk.

    And the woman is green.

More specifically, the woman is Orion, which is unexpected for a variety of reasons. The least of which not being that this particular dorm room is at Starfleet Academy, the peacekeeping armada of the United Federation of Planets, of which the Orions are not a member. In fact, Orions are ninety times more likely to be trafficked or arrested in Federation space than to immigrate themselves, due to their popularity as slaves and pirates.

Yet here we have Gaila – just Gaila, as true to the norms of her race she has no last time – the roommate of one Nyota Uhura and quite clearly a Federation citizen. As soon as said roommate returns, Gaila kicks Kirk under his bed, but to little avail as he is quickly discovered and ejected from the room entirely. He bids Gaila a short “see you later” to which she smiles and nods, and she isn’t seen or heard from again until the emergency deployment of the Enterprise and other starships to answer Vulcan’s distress call.

If you discount the deleted scene, in which Gaila is seen in the theatre of the Kobayashi Maru simulation, opening an email from Kirk at exactly three o’clock, as instructed, as he undertakes the test below. An attached file opens automatically and releases a patch that shorts out the computers for a few brief seconds before the system comes back online as if nothing happened. This cheat allows Kirk to be the first Starfleet cadet in history to actually beat the Kobayashi Maru – and all he had to do was use one Orion.

Following this, and resuming strict film canon, Gaila is in the auditorium during Kirk’s hearing, which is interrupted by a distress call received from Vulcan. A sea of cadets exits into the deployment dock to receive their assignments. As names and their corresponding ships are called out, Gaila spins on her heel to grin at Uhura, seemingly pleased with her assignment, and hurries off to find the shuttle that will take her to her ship.

For the rest of the film, Gaila is not seen nor mentioned. There is no head of titan curls and round green face at Kirk’s change-of-command ceremony at the end of the film. Because of this, interpretations of her fate are open. The Gaila as played by [livejournal.com profile] radiocakes is assigned to the USS Saratoga, one of the many, many ships destroyed by the Narada in its ambush. However, Gaila is one of the lucky few who manage to make it to an escape pod, and of the even fewer whose pod is not destroyed by the maelstrom of debris surrounding the planet, as well as the singularity created at the heart of Vulcan.

Gaila’s distress signal is picked up by Keenser on Delta Vega and her pod recovered by Starfleet. On her way back to Earth, she is treated for dolamide poisoning, a fractured tibia, and various cuts and bruises from the Saratoga coming apart around her. During Kirk’s change-of-command, she is still being hospitalised, though is well on her way to healing thanks to the medical equipment of the twenty-third century. Gaila is expected to make a full recovery – but Kirk might not after she gets her hands on him for using her.

Character: Teddie

Fandom: Persona 4

Character Notes:

History: Orginally a shadow in the TV world, Teddie lost his mask. As such he became lonely and when people feel into the TV world, he took on the task of learning Human Language and taking on the form of a mascot bear, so that they would not be afraid of him. He seemingly has no memories of his past. Eventually meeting the cast of the P4 he joins up, initially as a navigator of sorts to find out who was throwing people into the TV world. Then the Bear Shadow faced his own Shadow. Mocking Teddie about his existence and having no lost memories, because he’s only a shadow. Before he can reveal the last part Teddie attacks him. After the battle Teddie joins as a fighter. Coming out of the TV world he revealed that he grew a Human form inside his Costume. When Nanako fell into the TV world and eventually ended up dieing, Teddie believed there was nothing he could do. And thusly Teddied was no longer allowed in the human world. Lost in the fog he would eventually find the Velvet Room. Revealing to the Protangist everything he figured out. He was revealed that Nanako was revived, in part by everyone’s words. He felt happy and went back into the world. The velvet Room is a room where only those that poessed an ego, something that shadows are only mere fragments of, can enter.

Teddie would eventually come back to Nanako’s room and have a talk with her and the doctor. He came to the realization that he while he is an unknown being, the way he can change is also unknown. With that in mind he confronts the group in the human world and they have a talk, confirming that even though he is a shadow, he is pretty much Human now. They would return to the TV World and with his help track down Adachi, which is where the DDD cast is now.

Personality: Having not much contact with Humans, his emotions can seem over the top at times. A bit of a flirt, he has hit on every single one of the female in the P4 playable characters, and that his human form is a well dressed pretty boy. He tends to make bear-puns and any joke at any time he sees fit.

Esther Blanchett | Part Two

[identity profile] peached.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:

History: Esther Blanchett was raised in Istvan by a nun named Bishop Laura Vitez. She saw Bishop Laura as a mother figure and for the most part followed her teachings.

At age seventeen she meets Father Abel Nightroad. Esther first runs into him while dressed as a boy, smuggling something with her friend Dietrich. To her embarrassment/horror she later finds out that he is the priest her church was expecting, and asks him not to tell Bishop Laura of their earlier encounter.

It soon becomes apparent that both Esther and Dietrich were smuggling dangerous chemicals, and are involved in acts of terrorism against the Methuselah.

Later that night, not long after Esther showed Abel to his room, the chapel is attacked by a vampire. Several are killed. When Abel arrives (or rather, falls through a ceiling...) at the scene Esther tells him to run before passing out.

The next day Esther is praying at the graves of those who were killed during the attack. She tells Bishop Laura of her plans to attack Gyula so that no one else will have to suffer, and so that the church will be safe again. Bishop Laura tells Esther to come back safely.

But right as Esther, Dietrich and Abel are leaving for Gyula's castle, bombs go off in a massive explosion. Bishop Laura is killed and Esther is completely devastated. Abel comforts her, telling Esther that she is not alone -- that he is her partner.

Esther, Abel and Dietrich storm Gyula's castle. Esther jumps right in, trying to attack Gyula and making no effort to hide her rage. However she is caught slightly off guard as he retells the story of his beloved wife and how she was burned at the stake for simply loving a Methuselah.

But nothing could have prepared her for Dietrich's betrayal. She is stunned as he casually refers to Gyula as "your excellency" and tells her everything was a lie. Dietrich used Esther to shoot Abel, and leaves her to activate the 'Star of Sorrow' -- which is set to obliterate Rome. With her new friend bleeding on the floor, Dietrich out of sight, and her enemy gloating, Esther almost gives up. Abel picks himself up, though, and shoots at Gyula, snapping Esther out of it. She then chases after Dietrich, still not wanting to believe that he could be that evil.

When she finds him he offers the code freely. Thinking he was sincere Esther quickly rushes back to Abel in time to see that he overcame Gyula. She enters the code only to find that Dietrich had lied once more...it changed the target from Rome to Istvan.

Abel overrides that code easily enough and the Star of Sorrow disappears. Just when things finally seem to be over, Gyula's men enter, guns blazing. At the same time Tres enters as well -- but just a bit too late.

A bullet was headed right for Esther, and Gyula threw himself in front of her to protect her. This is a major turning point for her -- Esther's world has been turned upside down. Her mother figure died, her best friend betrayed her, and she is starting to realize that her beliefs about Methuselah might have been wrong. So when Tres and Abel are headed back to Rome Esther asks to get transferred and travels with them.

Character: Kagome Higurashi
Fandom: InuYasha
Character Notes:
History:
Kagome is a regular 15-year-old girl who lives with her mom, brother Sota and her grandfather. Her family has the job of guarding a very special well. This well connects modern day Japan to the Fuedal Era, which Kagome found out one day when she was pulled through it. Once in the Feudal Era, Kagome meets InuYasha who is a half-demon. Eventually it is learned that Kagome is Kikyo’s reincarnation and she processes not only the sacred jewel but also some of Kikyo’s priestess powers as well. Eventually the jewel is stolen by a demon and in order to save it Kagome hits the demon and causes the Shikon jewel to explode into thousands of pieces.

Since Kagome possess the power to see and sense the shards whenever they are near and InuYasha is strong enough to bring them back they band together. Throughout her journey she ends up meeting up with a demon-slayer named Sango, a flirtatious monk named Miroku and a small fox demon named Shippo.

Not only does Kagome have her duties in the Feudal era but she also has school in the modern era which of course she has to attend every once in a while. She generally will arrive in time to study for a test. Her grandfather while she is out of class makes up health excuses for why Kagome should not go to school. For most of the 9th grade year, Kagome spends it in the Feudal era with spending only a few days (usually three) at home. When she takes to long, InuYasha comes to get her, so Kagome can never remain at home for long.

Back in the Feudal Era, opposing Kagome and her friends is the priestess Kikyo and an evil demon Naraku. Trying to collect all of the jewel shards, Naraku is constantly thwarting their plans, which is very discerning for Kagome. He even angered her to the point where she tried to kill him with one of her sacred arrows. Although she is not violent and she usually does not wish harm on others, Kagome wants to see the end of Naraku and tries her best to find the jewel shards before he can.

Kikyo was resurrected by a dark priestess and tends to twart Kagome in more then one way. Kikyo in a few episodes has to rely on Kagome’s help but she will never outright ask it and it usually seems to Kagome that Kikyo is trying to test her. On another personal level, Kagome has fallen in love with InuYasha but yet he will leave her behind when he hears that Kikyo is close. Kagome had caught them in the trees when InuYasha told Kikyo that he was the only one who could protect her. Although Kagome understands this, it is hard for her to deal with which was why she ran home only to discover that she was in love with InuYasha after all. She was able to summon up the courage and she is able to stay by his side although it can be hard on her.

Re: KAGOME PART 2!

[identity profile] i-am-kagome.livejournal.com 2009-12-09 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:

Kagome’s personality is hard to describe with one word. She has a sense of humor and tends to be sarcastic which sometimes InuYasha does not pick up on. She is quick to anger especially with InuYasha which can be seen when she yells “Sit!.” She loves InuYasha with her whole heart and although she knows that, she also knows that it will be hard for her since of his past with Kikyo. Despite this, she knows that she will remain by InuYasha’s side. She shows her strength of character when she is left behind as InuYasha chases after Kikyo although when InuYasha comes back, usually Kagome has a few things to say.

Kagome is an extremely strong willed intelligent individual who is not afraid to speak her mind. She will tell a bad guy exactly what she thinks of him when can be seen with Koga. It turned against her a little bit though when Koga decided that he liked this outspoken female and decided to make her “his woman.” Her courage is unfailing and her bravery is astounding in one so young. She will never run when there is danger but stands straight and tall. She has a pure heart and soul which can be seen by her strong sense of justice and they way she watches over the innocent. She will go out of her way to help anyone for any reason, which usually means dragging InuYasha along. She will even help Kikyo and has in some situations although Kikyo never shows her appreciation. At the end of the day although she will help anyone and stand up for herself, it is her friends that gets her through. She is constantly looking out for a small fox demon whose name is Shippo and will put herself in danger to protect InuYasha.

Additional Links:

Kagome is often times dressed in a modern Japanese schoolgirl outfit. It is a white with green trim sweater and a green skirt. She wears knee high socks and tan loafers. Around her neck is a red tie Her hair is long and glossy black as well as brown eyes. She looks a lot like Kikyo since she is believed to be the resurrected Priestess. She always carries a yellow backpack with her as well as a bow an arrow. To get around quickly either she will ride on her bike or on InuYasha’s back. She has the appearance of young innocent schoolgirl.

Magical Powers/Skills: (If they don't have any say none.)

Kagome has a few abilities, which helps out her friends. Her most important one is that she sense the sacred jewel shards. Since she accidentally broke the shard when trying to rescue it from a demon, she has been traveling with InuYasha, Miroku, Sango and Shippo to try and find them. Her ability to sense jewel shards when they are close and can lead the others in the direction of the shards. She also has the ability to shoot a sacred arrow. This helps InuYasha when he gets in tough spots for it has incredible power against evil. Although not as strong as Kikyo, the power in her is enough. She also has the ability to see good in almost everyone that is amazing after seeing the horrible things that she has seen.

Apollo Justice | Ace Attorney 2/?

[identity profile] touchmy12inch.livejournal.com 2009-12-10 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History: Apollo had a mom who was a singer, and then stuff happened. "APOLLO YOU ARE THE ADOPTED," said the plot, and then Apollo was adopted and "NO PHOENIX YOU ARE THE FORGER," said Kristoph and then Phoenix was a hobo. And then Zak was a jerk and he disappeared and he left Trucy and then Trucy was Phoenix's daughter. And then Phoenix was a murderer but then Phoenix said "NO KRISTOPH YOU ARE THE MURDERER!" and Apollo was Justice.

But then the magical panties were stolen! And Apollo looked in a car exhaust pipe because it reminded him of Phoenix Wright and there were panties! Apollo was Justice once more and - oh god I can't do this anymore, I'm terrible at it. ANYWAY:

Apollo began his attorney career working for Kristoph Gavin , under Gavin Law Offices. His first trial is a homicide case, with disbarred laywer Phoenix Wright as the defendant in the case. It turns out that Phoenix actually requested Apollo as his defense in the case, so that he could bring the truth to light. The truth being, in this particular case, that the real murderer was none other than Apollo's mentor, Kristoph Gavin. Phoenix invited Apollo to his office at the Wright Anything Agency, where he was met by Trucy. Phoenix then brought several seemingly unrelated cases to Apollo - the theft of Trucy's magical panties, a hit and run involving Phoenix, and also the theft of a man's noodle stand. All of these turn out to be linked to yet another murder (seriously these cases are always murder, what about some good old fashioned bodily harm?). Desperate for work, Apollo defends the prime suspect, the son of a local gang leader. Stuff happens - you know, investigating and so on - and Apollo shows that the real murderer was the suspect's fiancee. This is the first case in which we meet Klavier Gavin, Kristoph's younger brother who began his prosecuting career at fifteen years old.

The next case sees Apollo defending one half of a musical duo that had been performing with Klavier at one of his concerts. However, one of his bandmates is implicated as the real killer by Lamiroir, a blind singer. Things get messy as it turns out that Daryl Crescend, Klavier's bandmate, was smuggling in a Borginian cocoon with the help of the original suspect. In the end, Apollo lacks decisive evidence but Machi Tobaye is convinced to testify and is found not guilty of the murder. Remember the name Lamiroir, she'll be showing up again in one of the weirdest twists I have ever seen in a video game.

And the final case is the most messed up of all! Yay! and the wiki's no help here! yay! First we have Apollo defending Vera Misham, accused of poisoning her father, Drew Misham. It's not long before we discover that Drew was a forger, but actually no, Vera's the forger, she didn't actually poison him because Drew was poisoned with a commemorative stamp that Vera had kept in a tiny frame for seven years, and they didn't just forge paintings - they forged things to be used in ~CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS~. But proceedings grind to a sudden halt as Vera keels over while on the witness stand. And we get some history about how Phoenix lost his badge. Then he does some investigating of his own!

This all culminates in the revelation that Apollo is actually Trucy's half-brother, and their mother is Lamiroir - she'd lsot her memories after Zak and Valant Gramarye fucked up a magic trick. Armed with the fruits of Phoenix's research, Apollo shows that Kristoph had contrived to poison both Drew and Vera Misham with the poisoned stamp and also poison in Vera's nal polish, to stop them talking from a forgery he had commissioned. Said forgery was slipped to Phoenix, after Zak Gramarye dropped Kristoph as his attorney (in a case seven years ago), and Kristoph was all "Fuck that shit" and basically got his revenge on everyone. Nothing would have been done, though, if not for the fact that this particular final case was actually a trial for the jurist system. So Vera's found not guilty and basically everyone's happy. ...The end.

Character: South Italy (Italia Romano, human name "Lovino Vargas")
Fandom: Axis Powers Hetalia
Character Notes:
History: Naturally, the history of a country is kind of long - though thankfully this is mostly only half of a country :'D - so I will try to make this as brief but as comprehensible as possible. ♥ It'll be solely the country's history, and I won't bother adding in Hetalia's take on that because it would... just get confusing, tbh.

EARLY ITALY:
  • Much of early Italy (5,000BC - 7th Century BC) was just progress through the ages, and the development of agriculture use in Italy, as well as the appearance of regional variations and the introductions of metalworking, bronze and iron.
  • In the late 8th Century BC, the coasts of South Italy were colonised by the Greeks, while the Etruscans controlled further north, namely Central Italy, and by the 7th Century BC, Latium and Campania, too.
  • Italy was largely ruled by the Etruscans up until the rise of Rome, which dominates most of early Italian history.
ROMAN ITALY:
  • Rome began in approximately 750 BC, founded by the brothers Romulus and Remus on the seven hills of Latium.
  • The legend of the city states that the twins, sons of the god Mars and Rhea Silvia, were abandoned to save them from their jealous uncle. They were found and raised by a she-wolf, and later a farmer, before they returned to their home. The two planned to build a city on the seven hills of Latium, but argued about its placement, and when Remus mocked his brother's city by jumping over its low walls, Romulus struck him dead and declared the city Rome.
  • In approximately 600BC, Rome was overthrown by the Etruscans. The Romans rebelled against the Etruscans, and abollished the system of Kings; instead, they started up a Republic that lasted 500 years. This system was altered multiple times, and caused various political problems.
PUNIC WARS:
  • Wars between Rome and Carthage that began in 264BC, over control of Messana in Sicily. The first war lasted from 264 - 241BC. In 242BC, the Romans defeated the Carthaginians; they took control of their land and were paid the full cost of the war.
  • Between the first and second Punic Wars, Rome began to take over North Italy; the Carthaginians moved into Spain.
  • In 219BC, Carthage felt strong enough to attack Rome again, and attacked a Spanish city allied to Rome. Rome declared war once again on Carthage in 218BC. This war was not resolved, and dwindled out due to Hannibal's loss of numbers on his journey through the Alps.
  • In 149BC, war was declared again over Rome attacking Carthaginian territory; in 146BC, the Romans took control of Carthage and its surrounding land, destroyed it, and made it uninhabitable.
  • Rome later became an Empire in 31BC with the defeat of Mark Antony and Cleopatra.

[identity profile] tsuntohisdere.livejournal.com 2009-12-12 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
MIDDLE AGES:
  • During the middle ages, Italy was faced with a range of invasions, mainly directed towards the North from Germanic tribes. Meanwhile, South and Central Italy were under control of the Byzantine Empire (also known as the Roman Empire).
  • The Lombards had a brief success in controlling Italy, beginning in roughly 560AD, but they were quickly ejected by the Franks, who also brought in Saracen Arabs as allies against the Byzantines. The Saracens conquered Sicily in 827, and even launched an attack on Rome.
  • After the invasion of the Ottonians, the North began to accumulate various city-states, and started to divide rather violently, and this rush out of the feudal era meant that the North was quick to become economically, socially and culturally ahead of the South.
  • While the North progressed, the South was conquered by the Normans, who began their invasion in the 11th Century, and expelled the Byzantines and the Saracens.
  • Sicily and Naples were ruled by the same Frenchman, but his rule was highly unpopular, and in 1282, Sicily was seperated by the mainland, leading to the two being seperate kingdoms.
MODERN HISTORY:
  • In the 15th Century, both kingdoms became Spanish property, and they were united under the name of the Kingdom of Two Sicilies. The kingdom remained under Spain's possession until Sicily was given to Sardinia, and later Austria, after the War of the Spanish Succession.
  • Briefly, it was an independent kingdom, but was captured by the French revolutionaries in 1798, and then the land was conquered by the military Redshirts in 1861, who began the Unification of Italy. Most of the South supported the Unification, hoping that it would progress the still-feudal areas of their land.
  • The unification of the North with the South was far from smooth, because the North was - and still is - much more economically developed than its other half. Due to problems with poverty and organised crime, after the unification, many people began to migrate up north.
KINGDOM OF ITALY:
  • After a long period spent as a highly dissatisfied, crisis-ridden nation, World War I broke out; Italy remained neutral while its government negotiated with both sides, until, with the promise of land, it joined the Allies.
  • In 1915, Italy declared war on Austria-Hungary, and later on Germany. From 1915 - 1918, battles between the Italians and the Austro-Hungarians were held in the North, called the Italian Campaign.
  • After being pushed back by Austro-Hungarian and German soldiers, the Italians regrouped, and Austria-Hungary was unable to push through the Italian front. In late 1918, Austria-Hungary surrendered.
  • Italy was only awarded a small portion of the lands that it had been expecting, and the disappointments brought upon by this produced a wave of nationalist sentiment against the Allies and the Italian government.
  • In 1922, a fascist Benito Mussolini was appointed Prime Minister, and he quickly became a dictator, taking Italy closer to war with a policy of aggression and expansion, conquering Ethiopia and sending troops to assist in the Spanish Civil War.
  • He allied himself with Germany's Adolf Hitler, and nine months after the beginning of World War II, Italy entered the war on Germany's side.
  • The Italians did not support their involvement in the war for very long; after multiple defeats in 1941, and only narrowly avoiding collapse on various occasions thanks to Germany's intervention. They overthrew Mussolini, arrested him, and began negotiations with the Allies, later joining the Western Allies as a co-belligerent.
  • The Germans rescued Mussolini, and he set up a puppet state in the North under German protection. In the South, Italy surrendered to the Allies and joined the war against Germany. With great difficulty, the Allies pushed German armies out of Italy, and Mussolini was caught and executed early in 1945.

Character: Nyota Uhura
Fandom: Star Trek XI
Character Notes:
History:
-- Uhura was born and raised in Africa, with her native language being Swahili.
-- She enlisted in Starfleet, specializing in xenolinguistics. She became proficient in 83% of official Federation languages and regional dialects, and served as the Academy aide for advanced phonology and advanced accoustical engineering courses. There's no doubt that Uhura is very skilled at what she does. She also caught the eye of Spock while in Academy, although whether this was romantic interest or just some kind of favoritism towards a student isn't unknown.
-- At some point during Academy, she met Jim Kirk at a bar in Riverside and was completely unimpressed. She could handle spurning his awkward advances all on her own, but another cadet known only as Cupcake stepped in on her behalf and so, Uhura was kind of responsible for the barfight that ~changed Jim's life~.
-- Jim enlists. Three years later, he still continues to irritate her. Only this time by engaging in questionable activities with her roommate in her room. This particular night, she had been in the sensory lab and detected a message from Klingon territory that a fleet of Klingon vessels were destroyed by an unknown Romulan vessel. She does seem to make much of it, but it becomes important later.
-- How important? The unknown vessel turns out to be Nero in space acting a fool, and so Starfleet sends out everyone to help. Uhura is assigned to the Farragut, and not having any of it because she felt like she made it very clear to Spock (who was in charge of the cadet assignments for her class) that she wished to be on the Enterprise. He argued that he'd assigned her to the Farragut to prevent the appearance of "favoritism" (wink wink nudge nudge? No one knows.) One brief persuasive argument later, and she gets her way.
-- She shows just how skilled and proficient she is when she takes over for the original communications officer, Lieutenant Hawkins, because she's fluent in all three Romulan dialects when he can't even tell the difference between Romulan and Vulcan.
-- Uhura is the one who reaches out to Spock and tries to comfort him when Vulcan is destroyed. She obviously cares about him, and wants to do whatever she can to make thing easier before him. When he only asks for the crew to keep functioning admirably, she listens and leaves it at that. She shares a moment with Spock in front of Jim before they go off to face off with Nero. He utters her first name, and Jim gets agitated because he's been trying for three years to learn it with no avail.
-- Uhura is last seen as the communications officer on the Enterprise, now being captained by one Captain Kirk. She seems to have come to respect him, in her way.
-- AND THEN THEY LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER. Boldly going through space. Etc etc.

Personality: Uhura knows what Uhura wants, and has no problems getting it. If she thinks you're being out of line or treating her unfairly, she'll tell you so. And she'll stand by her guns until you see it her way. But I wouldn't call her bitchy or overly aggressive, just straight-forward and with a low tolerance for bullshit.

All the same, she's capable of turning it off and being respectful when a job needs to be done. She takes Starfleet seriously, and isn't fond of seeing people (named Jim) mock it by doing things like taking the Kobayashi Maru simulation over 9000 times.

And although it hides under her sassy exterior most of the time, Uhura is a deeply caring person. If you've gotten close enough to her to earn it, she can be very caring and compassionate. Even when they may not deserve it, sometimes (she did yell for Cupcake and his friends to stop assaulting Jim, after all.)

Pram the Oracle 2/4?

[identity profile] oracle-prodigy.livejournal.com 2009-12-14 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Character: Pram the Oracle
Fandom: Makai Kingdom / Disgaea (I'm going off the video games not the Manga/Anime, though I might still Manga/Anime stuff if it doesn't conflict)
Character Notes:
History:
(This is assembled from what little information we get about Pram's history in the game (including some things that members of Zetta's army say), parts of it are likely really just rumours, since some of it seems to conflict with itself)

Pram was born the child of an Overlord (an Overlord is a demon who's powerful enough to rule one or more Netherworlds, which are basically the equivalent of Hell for the various planets in the multiverse), she had incredible mana power and a scarily high level of intelligence, at the age of 2 she had dethroned her father and stolen his Netherworld. (Its implied that her father was King Drake the III , who is a comic relief overlord, as her "true form" in the Good Ending has some King Drake like characteristics and he makes a comment about her stealing his Netherworld, but Pram has nothing but contempt for him, so bringing this up with her is probably not a good idea).

At some point between that and the beginning of Makai Kingdom Pram did the following in approximately the order listed:
Lost the Netherworld she stole from her father somehow.
Used her Shapechanging ability for one of only five times in her life so far (or for one of the three times if she is coming from the Bad Ending).

Broke into the Forbidden Library and read the Sacred Tome (the Sacred Tome is the book that records everything that has happened and everything that will happen to Lord Zetta's Netherworld).

Turned up on Zetta's Netherworld claiming to be Pram the Oracle.

Fooled Zetta and several other overlords into believing she had genuine oracular ability, by making use of what she had read, her high intelligence and a natural talent for manipulating people.

Took over a Netherworld of her own, becoming an Overlord again (the youngest Overlord that Zetta is aware of).

As Makai Kingdom started she had told Lord Zetta the location of the Forbidden Library and set in motion a sequence of events which would end with Zetta pretty much completely destroying his Netherworld (being reduced from a collection of 7 built up netherworlds to a piece of a single netherworld with nothing on it ) and being forced to confine himself to the Sacred Tome to avoid the destruction of that and himself, costing him his body (and unknown to either Pram or Zetta ejecting the spirit of the Sacred Tome which takes the form of a young girl named Trenia (but with the enormous mana power required to exist in the spaces between Netherworlds that normally only Overlord class beings have access to).

Roxas | Kingdom Hearts | [2/?]

[identity profile] orience.livejournal.com 2009-12-17 09:07 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History: Roxas was born when Sora stabbed himself with the dark keyblade to free Kairi’s heart. Since Kairi consequently went on to save Sora and restore him, he wasn’t in existence as a Heartless long enough for Roxas to absorb his memories. Some people think this was because Sora ended up living, and was still making memories of his own. Whatever the case, Roxas became what other Nobodies were not: a true individual. He was discovered close to the abandoned mansion in Twilight Town by Xemnas. How he knew the kid was there isn’t know. What is known is that he produced a series of letters, first spelling Sora’s name; then with the addition of the letter “x”, the letters were scrambled to form his name.

After that, Roxas joined the Organization. He was nearly mute for the first week of his existence, as he became accustomed to things. The only thing he knew was that he needed answers to why he existed, and why he could use a key-shaped weapon when the others could not. For awhile, Axel was assigned to babysit him, and show him the ropes. The more time they spent together, the easier Roxas found it to speak, and so the two swiftly became friends. After their missions, they formed what would become a tradition by sitting atop the clock tower at the train station in Twilight Town, and share some sea salt ice cream.

Roxas’ missions always involved offing countless Heartless to gather hearts for Xemnas’ Kingdom Hearts. He is shown to have gone on a mission at least once with every member of the Organization barring Saïx and Xemnas during the course of the game. Often during the missions he had in Twilight Town, he would come upon Hayner, Pence and Olette. Because of his ties to the Organization, he wasn’t ever able to reveal himself to them; but he did seem to long to be friends with them. More so later on, closer to his defection, but I can discuss this later.

Time went on, and eventually Axel was sent to Castle Oblivion to deal with the traitors there. Now, Roxas was put on babysitting duty for the newest member (XIV) Xion. She could also wield the keyblade, which surprised him. Naminé’s restoration of Sora’s memories impacted them both, though at different times. Roxas was the first, when he went into a coma for a few weeks. Xion visited his bedside daily, recounting her daily experiences in other worlds, and leaving him a sea shell for each day he was out. Once he woke up, he and Xion and Axel all became very close, sharing ice cream every day after their missions atop the clock tower in Twilight Town.

Eventually, Roxas was assigned to visit other worlds to collect hearts (Wonderland, Enchanted Dominion, Neverland, etc) and during the course of this time, he began to experience some of Sora’s memories via flashbacks. But also, he started to wonder about things and question them. After seeing Belle and the Beast together, it became obvious to him that the Beast would do anything for her. That he would do anything to protect her. This was when he asked Axel about the nature of love. Axel didn’t really have an answer though, of course. This was just the tip of the proverbial ice berg. Roxas henceforth started to question many things, about life, his own existence, and the Organization.

Questions kept coming to him: why did the keyblade choose him? Why was he “special”? No answers seemed to present themselves. And he was becoming more and more impatient with the Organization’s (especially Axel’s) silence on the matter when Xion, who had taken a side trip to Castle Oblivion and found out that Vexen had made her, deserted. She had met up with Riku, and been troubled by how he had questioned everything about her; and the firm, but gentle urging that she belonged with Sora. Riku had given Xion her answers, and a lot to think about. But Roxas still had nothing. Axel hunted her almost obsessively, seeking not only to fulfill an order but to bring their best friend back.

Roxas continued to go on missions, and is taken from just before the missions to eliminate the impostor (Riku) in Twilight Town, where he and Axel see Xion in his company.

Reserve | [Yami no Matsuei] Asato Tsuzuki | Part Two

[identity profile] yaniguchi.livejournal.com 2009-12-18 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History: Born in 1900, Asato Tsuzuki grew up in the slight beginnings of the Meiji Restoration. Japan was becoming more and more Westernized with every passing year. Life was conflicted in those years, including Tsuzuki’s life and family. The life that Tsuzuki led before he became a Shinigami was hardly something to be envious of. He was hardly the man he is today. Back then, he was a cold-hearted, calculating murderer that did exactly as he was told, even as a child. He was a machine–– at least, as far as he can remember. Tsuzuki only barely remembers his life before his hospitalization. Through his ordeals, he wound up in a hospital, under the care of one Doctor Muraki (the current Muraki’s grandfather).

For a period of time, Tsuzuki refused food and water. Most people would have died within days from lack of hydration, but Tsuzuki appeared to be unaffected. Elder Muraki took detailed notes of the bizarre occurrences that had to do with the man. Tsuzuki’s wounds should have killed him, but they were barely a hindrance on him. Muraki hypothesized that Tsuzuki was something far from human (or, at least, only partially human). Tsuzuki stayed in this state for eight years (without food, water, or hospital care) until the year he turned twenty-six. He had already attempted suicide countless times before without succeeding, but the final time he slit his wrists sent him to his death. And just when he thought he was done for good, just when he thought he was through with life forever... He was made into a Shinigami––a “guardian of death”, of sorts.

In a way, he has indeed escaped “life” in the sense that he’s dead, but now it’s his job to protect those who are dead and those who are targeted by death, and thus, he’s immortal. His first few years of work were tough, but he soon grew accustomed to the job and everything that it entailed. The only problem he had was sticking with a permanent partner. For awhile, Tsuzuki worked closely with Seiichirou Tatsumi, but their work relationship only lasted for a short while, just like all the others Tsuzuki had been assigned on missions with.

On his mission in Nagasaki (a mission to find the “vampire” that dwelled there), Tsuzuki was held at gunpoint by a teenaged boy who became his new partner, Kurosaki Hisoka. They’ve been working together since that mission. It was also during that mission that Tsuzuki met the mysterious Kazutaka Muraki. At first, Tsuzuki almost felt bad for the man, but it was also on that mission that Hisoka was kidnapped and tortured by the sadistic doctor. Ever since then, he has been wary of the man. At that point, Tsuzuki was still working hard to become friends with Hisoka, but the boy was so closed off from him that he backed off for awhile. That, and the boy seemed to have a troubling past.

Next step: encounter with the devil, in a way. The young musical prodigy, Hijiri Minase was the subject of their next mission. The boy had received a cornea transplant from a late violinist who had ties with the demon Sargatanas. When reunited with the violin of the late man (which had been blessed with demonic powers), Hijiri was suspect to horrible luck and he became a sort of “death target”. On more than one occasion, his life was put in danger. When Sargatanas finally came and confronted the boy physically, Tsuzuki was there to protect him, but he wound up getting bit by the demon in the process. Through this wound, Tsuzuki became possessed by the demon, and it took the strength and will of Hisoka to free Tsuzuki of the demon’s grip. They ended up with a bittersweet victory in the end––Hijiri was still alive, though the daughter of the late violinist was lost in an accident.

[The video starts with a shot of Ukitake, looking even paler than usual, and without his trademark smile. he was sitting legs tucked under him, leaning forward, and breathing heavily.
It was one of those times when he can't help but feel like the entire world was spinning, he began to cough loudly. Then when he finally stopped he whispered softly.]

Is anyone there? I need some help her-

[In med speech he got cut of with his coughing, and then he straightened his back, and covered his eyes with the hand that was not smeared in blood.]

...Help ...

Maybe after I get better someone could tell me where I am...
It's really hot here...

[He forced on a smile, trying to hide the fact that he was sick, and uncovered his shut eyes. He slowly opened them, his dark brown eye brows furrowed at the light]

K-kyoraku... are you there?

[He whispered under his breath, hoping just maybe his there. then after two minuets he thought wearing all these clothes was imposeball... for now, and took of his blood stained haori, and sighed.]

I think this is better...

[He raised one hand and waved it lifelessly]

I'm okay... okay... really

Character Notes:

History: The first thing to know about little miss Mitsuru is the fact that she was born into a wealthy family that owned the Kirijo Group, which oversaw a bunch of research on strange creatures called Shadows and Personas. Mitsuru’s grandfather started the research because he wanted to utilize the shadows to summon Nyx to bring about The Fall or something else really evil like that, and he even started a branch of his company that experimented on children and tried to artificially implant Personas into them. However, one of the scientists working in his lab (and Yukari’s father, actually) discovered his dastardly plot and split the Shadow they were researching on into 12 different parts (each represented by a certain arcana) to disrupt the research. If the 12 Shadows were to converge or be destroyed, then the world would be destroyed. This act of heroism, unfortunately, required that the lab to explode, and in that explosion people died and the amazingly annoying dungeon called TARTARUS was born alongside the Dark Hour.

So basically, the entirety of Persona 3? Was Mitsuru’s family’s fault. Luckily for us, the redhead was more than willing to clean up for her grandfather’s mistakes, even if it took a huge emotional toll on her.

The Dark Hour that was created in that incident was the ‘hidden hour’ of the day, and it took place at midnight every night, and almost nobody knew about it. It was when everyone without the potential was turned into coffins and those who had it could roam the blood-covered streets if they so pleased. However, it was also the time Shadows roamed the streets as well, and anyone who was attacked by a Shadow during this time became overrun with Apathy Syndrome. Mitsuru’s father took over the reigns of the company after this incident, and research on the strange phenomena that were the Tartarus and Dark Hour began. It was actually during an excursion into Tartarus where her father was attacked by a Shadow where Mitsuru’s Persona awakened. It wasn’t a natural awakening, however. It was actually forced upon her by her father (though not through the experimentation, as she doesn’t have to take the medicine to control her Persona or anything like that).

Anyway, Mitsuru grew up surrounded by this research, and even though her father protested her being a part of it, she insisted that she help in any way possible and therefore was taught how to fight Shadows. Tartarus remained a mystery to the group, since they didn’t have enough manpower to explore it. One day, in middle school, she approached Akihiko after she learned that he had been born with the potential as well and asked him to join SEES with her to fight Shadows and explore Tartarus. Mitsuru, Akihiko and Shinjiro were the three original members of SEES, but after a tragic incident where Shinjiro lost control of his Persona and killed a woman (Ken’s mother), he left the group, leaving Mitsuru and Akihiko as the only two remaining members. They still didn’t have enough manpower to explore Tartarus, but they weren’t quite going to give up there.

Sometime during this time, Shuji Iku—I can’t remember how to spell his name and have no means of looking it up right now—joined SEES and began to search for other students born with the potential who could help them. Yukari was recruited, and eventually Minato and Junpei as well. Finally, SEES had enough people to explore the strange structure known as Tartarus, and the missions began. Mitsuru acted as support at first, using her ‘special’ motorcycle and the power of her Persona to keep in contact with the team members. It was around this time where strange incidents began to occur on nights of the full moon. Starting with Minato’s awakening, the members of SEES would encounter powerful Shadows during the full moon of each month without fail.
