Personality: Lily is best described as a bit of a “neutral” justice figure. While she may be biased toward her friends, the division of the four houses doesn’t stop her (a Gryffindor) from sticking up for her friend, Severus Snape (of Slytherin). She seems to have her own strong ideals of what’s good and what’s bad, given her very vocal disapproval of Snape’s Death Eater friends and Potter’s and his friends’ idiotic ways. In a way, she really does live up to her Prefect badge, and the later award of Head Girl. So she does take power seriously and doesn’t appear to abuse it.
She’s very selfless and modest, her future son being noted to have taken on these qualities of hers (despite what Snape may say or think). In addition, she’s a kind and loving individual, but when she gets pissed… it’s not a side most want to be on as her temper flares up.
On another side of things, she sometimes doesn’t like to acknowledge some ugly truths about her friends, such as all her friends have to say about Snape and some of his behaviors that she knows of personally. It might also explain why she denies Snape’s theories of Lupin being a werewolf… until she gets any solid fact for herself, besides that the story was probably what the staff puts out, including Dumbledore, who I assume she probably trusts explicitly within the staff, as he is the Headmaster.
She's got another side, as revealed by Professor Slughorn, who had favored her. Whenever he said she should have been in Slytherin, she would shoot back some cheeky reply, showing that if she was familiar enough and on good terms with a professor, she had no trouble being a smart mouth with them. Lily is also described as being funny, charming and brave. Someone who nearly everyone who knew her, liked her.
Other: Lily is a very bright witch with a load of talent, enough so that she impressed the Potions Master, Professor Slughorn and became one of his favorite students with her talent for potions.
Her wand is listed as being good for Charms, so it's possible she may have excelled in that class as well.
Additional history: Some time after graduation, she was inducted as a member of the Order of the Phoenix as well as James and his friends and a number of others.
For Dramadramaduck purposes, Lily will be taken from the same point as the current Marauders of the Harry Potter cast, which I believe is between their fourth and fifth year.
