Nymphadora Tonks - Reserved Application - 5 of Several
For three years, she trained. Becoming an Auror was not an easy accomplishment. It required proficiency in the practical application of magic and exceptional marks in training. Most of her training was done under the legendary Auror, Mad-Eye Moody. Tonks adored him from the start but from their interactions most people would have never guess that.
Her natural shape-shifting abilities allowed her to pass the Concealment and Disguise portion of training. All, she claimed, without doing any bookwork or homework to pass. Nymphadora did have problems with Stealth and Tracking. She almost failed that section of training. The Ministry didn’t want to hear that a crack in the ground had snuck on her which caused her to trip which then caused her mark to get away. She knew that there was no room for mistakes or accidents. Tonks had to buckle down and concentrate to pass Stealth which she did, eventually.
As an Auror, she was one of the few to genuinely believe that Lord Voledmort was back. Along with several others, she was recruited into the second formation of the Order of the Phoenix. It was not something she advertised. She had to be careful when she was at the Ministry as she worked for the Order undercover. No one wanted Scrimgeour asking funny questions, more than he usually did anyway.
Her familiarity with the Muggle world helped the Order to lure the Dursleys away from their home the night that they went to retrieve Harry Potter. That was the first time Tonks met Harry Potter. She was loud and brash. During the rest of Harry's Fifth Year, Tonks performed several functions for the Order. She helped to guard Harry, using her metamorphmagus abilities to disguise her appearance.
