Character: Quackerjack (full name unknown) Fandom: Darkwing Duck Character Notes: History: Once, Quackerjack Toys was a successful toy company. Then video games came around, and children didn't want 'plain' toys anymore. The biggest offender? Whiffle Boy. It was enough to drive the head of Quackerjack Toys completely mad. He took on the role of Quackerjack, a crazed jester of a villain, determined on getting revenge with the aide of his very unique toys.
At least, this is how Quackerjack tells the story. Usually.
Sometimes, he's angry because parents won't let their children buy his toys because they're too dangerous. The Whiffle Boy thing isn’t all that consistent, really. And how long Quackerjack has been specializing in weapon-like toys is unclear. A lot about Quackerjack's past is unclear.
His present, though, is less of a mystery. Quackerjack is a villain in Saint Canard, terrorizing the citizens in a variety of ways: Maybe he's attacking a toy store that won't carry his toys. Maybe he's planning on ruining a Whiffle Boy tournament. Maybe Negaduck has a special job in mind for him. Heck, maybe he's just bored. But like all villains in Saint Canard, Quackerjack has an obstacle - Something standing between him and his 'fun'. That something? That would be Darkwing Duck.
Quackerjack first met the superhero in-person when he (Quackerjack, not Darkwing) snuck into a Whiffle Boy Video Game Tournament, planning to wreak havoc. Drake Mallard happened to be attending the event, and - under the guise of Darkwing - stopped the villain. Quackerjack didn't give up easily, and even ended up transported into the video game, but eventually Darkwing won out. The pattern had begun…
(It is hard to determine the order of events, since it would seem the episodes are not aired in sequential order. (I'm going by a mix of ‘what should be continuity’, air date, and significance here.) But, regardless of when they happened, these events have played an important role in Quackerjack's life, and/or offer good examples of the jester's bizarre mentality and unique villainy.)
-Quackerjack joined the Fearsome Five – a team of criminals constructed and lead by Negaduck. While simply being a member of this group changed things for Quackerjack, it is perhaps most significant that this is (presumably) how he met Megavolt. The two have since teamed up on a few occasions, and it could be said that the two are best friends, in their own, somewhat dysfunctional way. (Although Megavolt is probably second to Mr. Banana Brain in Quackerjack's book.)
-The Fearsome Five briefly took over Saint Canard, and Quackerjack got to run an entire quadrant of the city. Chattering toy teeth ran the police force until Darkwing Duck and the Justice Ducks put an end to things.
-Quackerjack created a time-traveling top, which he first used to go back in time and stop the yo-yo from ever being invented. (A mission he took on because yo-yos were more popular than his toys.) In trying to stop Darkwing from stopping him, however, Quackerjack ultimately ended up helping to invent the toy himself. Later, Quackerjack used the 'Time Top' once again, the next time working with Megavolt. The two planned to travel to the future to get their hands on the toys and light bulbs of tomorrow, but accidentally created a miserable future for Saint Canard. The two briefly worked with the heroes in order to fix things.
-Quackerjack attempted to set up his own play-land, a place where kids would play with (and pay for!) his toys, while he reigned supreme. Needless to say, it didn’t last.
-Quackerjack's best friend, Mr. Banana Brain, was possessed by an evil spirit called Paddywhack. The jester teamed up with Darkwing Duck to vanquish the demon.
-Quackerjack and Megavolt teamed up once again, this time using a device called the 'Relax-a-Tron'. Disguising as doctors at a 'stress-free clinic', they put nearly every citizen of Saint Canard into a nearly-comatose state, making the place a free-for-all for the two criminals until, as usual, Darkwing stopped them.
