Hello, ducklings! Here for a few matters of business.

With rp_anon_meme 's return in our midsts, the moderation(pole) team feels it necessary to point out a few things, regarding some player complaints.

• We cannot moderate any community that is not explicitly a part of dramadramaduck . That includes all forms of roleplaysecrets , rp_anon_meme  or whatever other community is out there. Should someone say something there, we can talk to them but we cannot punish them unless it is brought on comm.
  • What constitutes as a place we can cover is dramadramaduck , triple_d_ooc , any sidecomm and any OFFICIAL ddd chatroom (ddd, odd, add).
• Along the same lines, we really want to encourage you to watch your behavior on these things. If someone says something that rubs you the wrong way? Hold your tongue. The more you guys bicker in these places, anon, not anon, you make us look bad. Flat out. We want to be civil here and find a way to be able to talk to each other without having to worry about anonymous dogpiling or whatnot. We have the reptuation we have for a reason so lets attempt to better ourselves and get a better one, okay?

On a lighter note, we are officially swinging into motion our FIRST ANNUAL LAYOUT CONTEST woo woo woo!

• You can submit a new layout for either the ooc or ic comm, or even both! We'll have separate polls for each.
• There will be no limit to how many layouts you can submit-- all we ask is that you use dummy journals (not comms) to show them off to us, instead of screenshots.
• Feel free to make corrosponding icons for your layout
• The submission post will be up November 1st and will end the 15th, and polling will be afterward.
• Axel-mod will be putting up a more informative post soon, so watch out for it!

Anddd now for a small apps policy change! Because of the amount of second sample requests, we have ammended the amount of time you can submit the second sample in-- we were just recieving them far too long down the line (up to 2 weeks after the request). We will now only allow a week for a second sample submission (and that week starts from the day it's requested); after that, your application will be auto-rejected-- however, you are free to resubmit your application, if this happens. As for samples requested before this, you will have a one week grace period from this post.

Also, remember to join our new sidecomm adddictions ! It's where we encourage you to post out of character memes (character relationship, character opinion, character honesty etc etc) as well as any new things you think the community would get a kick out of, oocly (dragoncave, whatpulse, etc).

Finally, Activity Check ends on TUESDAY, so if you haven't already, submit your activity!

Ho-boy, I have a lot to say about the anon-meme. I'm not trying to start wank here, I'm just getting my two cents out.

I mod lol6 a ton of RP communities, and one is really active. I don't much like things like the rp_anon_meme, because, yeah, while it gives people the option to express their distaste in an anonymous manner, the capability of anonymous seems to automatically = being an asshole to EVERYONE.

Things like the rp_anon_meme make me abso-fucking-lutely terrified to RP cause people are so critical like this, and there are people who post on there about friends of mine and they get SLAMMED. I don't want to be one of those people.

Why can't you openly express your dislike/distaste towards people and their characterisations and be constructive about it so they'll improve? Not just be LOL YOU SUCK DIAF KTHNXBAI. Butthurt lol, I know.

I realise there are some people out there that don't take concrit well, or ignore it all together, and that's fine. Let them be picked on and look like the asshats. It's all talk behind people's backs and wank and then you don't know who it is and it could be someone you really like or you think really likes you.

I had a secret posted about me on a CERTAIN COMMUNITY THAT STARTS WITH A D AND ENDS WITH AN O not so long ago. I was on the verge of quitting the com anyway, because it was being taken over by asshats. At the time, it really pissed me off. Especially because I know the person/the group of people it spurred from and they didn't talk to me about it ahead of time. It pissed me off to no end. There wasn't anything concrit about it. Anyway, I got over it, but at the time it really sucks.

THE LESSON ER... THING IS: People are bullies. There's no avoiding that. We gotta remember that this is just a game and we're here to have fun. These are the same people who are probably the rules Nazis in D&D or the lulz killers in Apples to Apples. In the long run, nobody appreciates them. Feeding their wank only gives them more reason to be wanky.

SO... don't be paranoid (besides, your character is super lulztastic). NOW... I must flee. BYE.

This is why I basically refuse to even look at those things. I followed the secret comms for about a week and then gave up in disgust. That and I have a horrible habit of butting in when other people have problems and wind up making it worse.

The way I see it, if someone doesn't like me or something I'm doing then they can either say it to my "face" while logged in or keep it to themselves. If I ever get a secret posted about me, I don't see the point in trying to have to "defend" myself to passive-aggressive bullshit like that when I deal with it enough in real life. RP is supposed to be fun. It's not supposed to be politicking around trying to get people to gang up on someone or rallying the troops to your defense.

Seriously, if they can't tell you through e-mail, an LJ note, an IM, on a crit post, on the HMD, etc., etc., etc. then they have no business complaining about you. Sheesh.
