Character: Henry Fandom: No More Heroes Character Notes: History: Henry is actually Travis's twin brother. How they were separated is never explained, nor does it mention his real last name, but it can be assumed that since their family was so fucked up anyway, separation was the least of their worries. Henry was raised in Ireland, far far away from where his twin was raised (California). He reveals himself to Travis as an assassin during one of Travis's ranked fights, purposely stealing one of his kills (and was dubbed Sir Henry Mother-fucker for doing so). Ever since then, Travis has been out for his brother's blood, seeing him as an arch rival of sorts, but Henry doesn't really see Travis as much of a threat. In fact, he brazenly duels Travis at the end of the first game, spilling all the facts of his life, like how Sylvia is actually his wife and has a child (named “Jeanne”, which is totally not weird). And that they are indeed twin brothers. The fight results in what seemed like a double homicide.
Which it obviously wasn't, as the second game featured Travis as the main character, and Henry as a playable character.
When we first see Henry in the second installment, he is a lifeless carbonite statue attached to an incredibly phallic machine named “Dr. Letz Shake”, who did this as a means of vengeance continued from the first game (because Henry destroys Dr. Letz Shake in the first game). Henry is rescued by Travis, and is even given a chance to recover from his freezing, though Travis claims that he doesn't really care for Henry's life. These two aren't exactly the type to hug it out and have a reunion, anyway. Ever since Travis got over his desire to kill his rival, Henry formed a mutual respect for his other half, and helps him when he feels he truly needs it. He seems to be keeping a close watch on him, appearing at a certain moment at the last boss fight: The boss, Batt Jr., presented three decapitated heads on silver platters to Travis, one of them being Henry's, and Travis gets super emotional/angry. But just a little while later, Henry bursts into the room, and admonishes Travis for being deceived by such a cheap trick.
As the boss fight progresses to the final (and most ridiculous) stage, Henry merely stands by and watches, not wanting to be involved with such a “travesty.” He claims “to have standards, for fuck's sake.”
Personality: Henry is the epitome of the cool, strong-willed assassin. His movement is quick, fluid, and professional, using as little energy as possible to execute the killing blow. He's not very showy, but the beauty of his movement is in the simplicity. When he speaks, he's a bit condescending, but he is honest, mature, and over-all a very normal guy... which is weird, considering his job and what he deals with on a day-to-day basis. Being a professional assassin, he shows very little emotion to his targets, wanting nothing more than just to get the job done cleanly. His notable kills include Shinobu's father (this is just an assumption, albeit a very probable one), Letz Shake/Dr. Letz Shake, & Mimmy.
He appears very forgiving to those he cares about, namely Sylvia and Travis, where Sylvia has been running around conducting shady assassin games (and promising Travis sex), and where Travis has wanted to kill him. His reaction to all of these odds are fairly mild, usually sighing heavily and seeming somewhat annoyed at the worst. Henry doesn't even mention Sylvia or their divorce in the second game, but one can only imagine how strangely boring and civil their argument leading to their divorce might have been.
Other: Henry's most notable physical ability is his speed. When fighting, he can execute extremely powerful moves while covering a huge distance. His athleticism is greater than Travis's, and his movement is less predictable than Travis as well.
