Character: Lily Evans (Potter)
Fandom: Harry Potter
Character Notes:
History:
Lily Evans was born January 30, 1960 to Muggle parents, at least a couple years younger than her sister, Petunia (who she called “Tuney”). Lily found that she was able to do strange things as a child, and it was when she met a young Severus Snape that he explained that she was able to do such things because she was a witch. He told her that he was a wizard and the pair soon became close friends. Despite their friendship, she was still mad at Snape when he (whether intentionally or not) tapped into his untrained magical skill and caused a branch to snap off and hit Petunia’s shoulder. On her first train ride to Hogwarts, she met James Potter and Sirius Black, quickly finding that she didn’t particularly like either of them for how they were treating Snape.

Not much is known up until her fifth year beyond that she was named Prefect and has been best friends with Sev (as she calls him) and defends him from her friends, especially every time he calls her a Mudblood (she makes excuses for it). Somewhere in March or April of her fifth year, she heard about James saving Snape from going down the passage covered by the Whomping Willow, but she told Snape that she didn’t believe his theory of Lupin being a werewolf, with his illnesses falling on the full moon of every month. A few months later, she was witness to James, Sirius and Snape hexing each other and after Lily’s defense of the latter, him calling her a Mudblood once more. That night was the final straw. He waited for her and threatened to sleep outside the Gryffindor tower entrance if she didn’t come see him, so she did. It was that night that she finally dug into him for his Death Eater friends and made it clear that their friendship was over. In her sixth year, she most likely started getting to know the Marauders better through Remus, her co-Prefect of Gryffindor. By her seventh year, she was the Head Girl and finally gave in and started dating James Potter, the Head Boy. From there, the rest is history. She had finally fallen completely in love with him, they got married sometime between late 1978 and early 1979, and Harry was born July 31st, 1980. On Halloween of 1981, Pettigrew betrayed the Fidelius Charm protecting his friends to Voldemort and soon after James was killed, Lily was also murdered, protecting their son, giving him a strong protection that lasted for years, even when it came to the final battle at Hogwarts.

Lily Evans // Harry Potter series // 2 of 3 (post-edit >_>;;;)

[identity profile] later-days.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Lily is best described as a bit of a “neutral” justice figure. While she may be biased toward her friends, the division of the four houses doesn’t stop her (a Gryffindor) from sticking up for her friend, Severus Snape (of Slytherin). She seems to have her own strong ideals of what’s good and what’s bad, given her very vocal disapproval of Snape’s Death Eater friends and Potter’s and his friends’ idiotic ways. In a way, she really does live up to her Prefect badge, and the later award of Head Girl. So she does take power seriously and doesn’t appear to abuse it.

She’s very selfless and modest, her future son being noted to have taken on these qualities of hers (despite what Snape may say or think). In addition, she’s a kind and loving individual, but when she gets pissed… it’s not a side most want to be on as her temper flares up.

On another side of things, she sometimes doesn’t like to acknowledge some ugly truths about her friends, such as all her friends have to say about Snape and some of his behaviors that she knows of personally. It might also explain why she denies Snape’s theories of Lupin being a werewolf… until she gets any solid fact for herself, besides that the story was probably what the staff puts out, including Dumbledore, who I assume she probably trusts explicitly within the staff, as he is the Headmaster.

She's got another side, as revealed by Professor Slughorn, who had favored her. Whenever he said she should have been in Slytherin, she would shoot back some cheeky reply, showing that if she was familiar enough and on good terms with a professor, she had no trouble being a smart mouth with them. Lily is also described as being funny, charming and brave. Someone who nearly everyone who knew her, liked her.

Other:
Lily is a very bright witch with a load of talent, enough so that she impressed the Potions Master, Professor Slughorn and became one of his favorite students with her talent for potions.

Her wand is listed as being good for Charms, so it's possible she may have excelled in that class as well.

Additional history: Some time after graduation, she was inducted as a member of the Order of the Phoenix as well as James and his friends and a number of others.

For Dramadramaduck purposes, Lily will be taken from the same point as the current Marauders of the Harry Potter cast, which I believe is between their fourth and fifth year.

Character: Henry
Fandom: No More Heroes
Character Notes:
History:
Henry is actually Travis's twin brother. How they were separated is never explained, nor does it mention his real last name, but it can be assumed that since their family was so fucked up anyway, separation was the least of their worries. Henry was raised in Ireland, far far away from where his twin was raised (California). He reveals himself to Travis as an assassin during one of Travis's ranked fights, purposely stealing one of his kills (and was dubbed Sir Henry Mother-fucker for doing so). Ever since then, Travis has been out for his brother's blood, seeing him as an arch rival of sorts, but Henry doesn't really see Travis as much of a threat. In fact, he brazenly duels Travis at the end of the first game, spilling all the facts of his life, like how Sylvia is actually his wife and has a child (named “Jeanne”, which is totally not weird). And that they are indeed twin brothers. The fight results in what seemed like a double homicide.

Which it obviously wasn't, as the second game featured Travis as the main character, and Henry as a playable character.

When we first see Henry in the second installment, he is a lifeless carbonite statue attached to an incredibly phallic machine named “Dr. Letz Shake”, who did this as a means of vengeance continued from the first game (because Henry destroys Dr. Letz Shake in the first game). Henry is rescued by Travis, and is even given a chance to recover from his freezing, though Travis claims that he doesn't really care for Henry's life. These two aren't exactly the type to hug it out and have a reunion, anyway. Ever since Travis got over his desire to kill his rival, Henry formed a mutual respect for his other half, and helps him when he feels he truly needs it. He seems to be keeping a close watch on him, appearing at a certain moment at the last boss fight: The boss, Batt Jr., presented three decapitated heads on silver platters to Travis, one of them being Henry's, and Travis gets super emotional/angry. But just a little while later, Henry bursts into the room, and admonishes Travis for being deceived by such a cheap trick.

As the boss fight progresses to the final (and most ridiculous) stage, Henry merely stands by and watches, not wanting to be involved with such a “travesty.” He claims “to have standards, for fuck's sake.”

Personality:
Henry is the epitome of the cool, strong-willed assassin. His movement is quick, fluid, and professional, using as little energy as possible to execute the killing blow. He's not very showy, but the beauty of his movement is in the simplicity. When he speaks, he's a bit condescending, but he is honest, mature, and over-all a very normal guy... which is weird, considering his job and what he deals with on a day-to-day basis. Being a professional assassin, he shows very little emotion to his targets, wanting nothing more than just to get the job done cleanly. His notable kills include Shinobu's father (this is just an assumption, albeit a very probable one), Letz Shake/Dr. Letz Shake, & Mimmy.

He appears very forgiving to those he cares about, namely Sylvia and Travis, where Sylvia has been running around conducting shady assassin games (and promising Travis sex), and where Travis has wanted to kill him. His reaction to all of these odds are fairly mild, usually sighing heavily and seeming somewhat annoyed at the worst. Henry doesn't even mention Sylvia or their divorce in the second game, but one can only imagine how strangely boring and civil their argument leading to their divorce might have been.

Other:
Henry's most notable physical ability is his speed. When fighting, he can execute extremely powerful moves while covering a huge distance. His athleticism is greater than Travis's, and his movement is less predictable than Travis as well.

Mallorie 'Mal' Cobb || 2/??? | Spoilers from here on out

[identity profile] lockedinaprison.livejournal.com 2010-08-05 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:

** SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE INCEPTION **

History:
There’s a world, the world Mal exists in, that has the technology to take any person into another’s dreams and steal away their secrets. Dream-sharing used to be more of a legitimate and legal sort of job. But once the true potential of dream-sharing was unlocked, companies began to use it to steal the ideas of competitors and plot ways to demolish all competition.

But before it all fell apart, Mal was a part of something beautiful. Her father, Miles, had connections to dream-sharing technology and often times shared his skills with his daughter. He taught his daughter how to create worlds in dreams. How to manipulate them into anything of her own desire. How to use the technology for good rather than illegal processes. And once a person began to use the technology, it was hard not to become addicted.

That’s why it was no surprise that one of Mal’s classmates at her father’s architecture lessons became as addicted to the world of dreams as Mal did when Miles showed him what his architecture could do in a dream. Dreams were something that Architects adored when they realized the true potential of accessing your dreams. Of getting in between the perceiving and creating process the mind does when asleep to completely take over the creation and create worlds out of nothing. To create cathedrals and skyscrapers where none stood before and things that could not exist in reality. Pure creation.

Mal and Dominic were the best architects in the school. And they had the added bonus of dream-sharing. They spent hours creating entire worlds in their dreams and making up their own realities until one day, they fell in love. With their true nature and abilities unleashed in dreams and their true selves exposed to the other, it was no surprise how fast and how deeply the two fell in love. And even less of a surprise when Dom proposed to Mal, telling her that he dreamed of them growing old together.

From there the two began to build their life in reality. They had two children, Phillipa and James. And moved to the States where Dom was born and raised to raise their own family. Coming from wealthy families and with abilities like theirs they had no problems acquiring money to build their dream house with the porch that opened up into the beautiful wilderness where the sun always seemed to shine.

Their life was perfect.

And their dreams were just as beautiful.

But their true potential in the dream world had yet to be reached. They tampered in dreams within dreams constantly. But Dom wanted to keep going deeper. To keep going past what they originally built and create more. And Mal followed him down. One level. Two. Three. And then limbo.

Limbo is four dreams into the dream world. But it’s the last level you can reach. Not that you would ever want to leave it.

For most dreams the architects design the world before hand and play with it inside the dream. But when they reached the shores of limbo they encountered nothing. Nothing but their raw subconscious. This world was empty and entirely theirs to build and create.

And they did. For 50 years they built their dream world. Full of skyscrapers and modern and old designs and houses in a modern skyscraper with a porch that overlooked the world. For fifty years, the dream had become their reality.

Character: Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV, a.k.a. Radical Edward, a.k.a. Ed.
Fandom: Cowboy Bebop

Character Notes:
History: MYSTERIOUS HISTORY OF MYSTERIOUSNESS: Ed wandered into an orphanage, wandered out. Presumably spent some time with her father. Then she became a reknowned hacker, able to HACK ANYTHING MWAHAHAHA. Then she got bored, hacked and tricked her way onto the Bebop, and hung out. And hung upside-down. And did cartwheels. And made friends with the dog. And hacked some more stuff. Then she ran into her dad again, and not long afterwards, wandered off the Bebop.

Personality: Insane. Genius level insanity. She's a kid, but she can hack into pretty much anything. "Pretty much" meaning that there was never anything in the show she wasn't able to eventually work her way into. She also has a real head for technology in general, knowing the specifics of a VCR when they had been obsolete for hundreds of years (or something like that). She's an amazing strategist. She gave the best chess player in the universe a real run for his money before ultimately losing. Barely. But she's insane. She doesn't walk anywhere, she gallops, runs, cartwheels, walks on her hands, or saunters. But she never just walks. She also can't wear shoes or socks. Like. Is physically incapable of walking while wearing socks. She constantly speaks in the third person, but slips into first person occasionally. She'll eat anything. She's kind of like a little creature. Acts on instinct, doesn't give a single thought as to what anyone else thinks. She thinks it, she does it. No hesitation.

First Person (entry type): BUTTONS BUTTONS BUTTONS EDWARD PRESSES ALL THE BUTTOOOOOOOONS

And this button makes the page get BIGGER and this button makes it get smaller and this button gets Edward looking at aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the information she needs!

And what's this? Edward's seen this before, yes yes yesyesyesyesyes she hashashas. It is the BIG place where aaaaall the people go talking and talking and visit each other all the time and Edward made lots of friends and people she didn't like as much but THEN yes THEN Edward left.

Because she felt like it.

And now she's back!

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO INTERNET PEOPLE AND HOW ARE YOU TODAY? IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY EDWARD WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY! With THIS. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FkW2D5n8Ns) That makes EVERYONE happy.

Third Person: The weather today was horrible. Edward stared out the hatch of the Bebop at the rain falling on the planet's surface, morose beyond all reasoning. Ein the corgi lay next to her, and, mirroring her emotion, whined plaintively every now and then.

After a while, Ed started to sigh. It was long, drawn-out, and over dramatic. But, as she stared at the seemingly endless rain, it was entirely called for. After all, what was landing for but to get out and stretch your legs? Run around the cities... find interesting things to do...

But there wasn't a whole lot you could do outside when it was raining.

Unless...

Edward, who had been slumping over the railing, suddenly sat bolt upright.

"EIN EIN EIN EIN EIN!" she shrieked. "PUDDLES!"

Girl and dog leaped up, practically hovering in midair for a moment before dashing off outside.

Not a minute later, they could be found jumping in the biggest puddles to make as large a splash as they possibly could, the dog barking happily, and Ed bursting with mad laughter.

Character: Zed
Fandom: Wild Arms
Character Notes:

Zed is a Metal Demon, which means he sides generally with the bad guys -- not to mention, of course he also happens to be about 1000 years old. But it is most likely that he's spent most of that time in hibernation with the Quarter Knights, meaning he doesn't act like his age. As a side note, the Quarters Knights and Zeikfried are the other important Metal Demons who, in the game, are the antagonists, trying to revive Mother. Who, as the name implies, is the real leader of the Metal Demon race.

Zed is considered to be just a lackey of some sort underneath the Quarter Knights -- who don't take him seriously -- much to his disappointment. I'm taking him from sometime in the middle of Wild Arms, before the *spoilers* Generator Gate explodes.

Zed holds a large amount of crappy-ass bad-luck, ironically because of his sword.

Zed exhibits many characteristics that make those who face him in battle mentally facepalm, and thus he is not taken very seriously at times for very good reasons. Not only does he go out of the way to say how 'awesome' he is when he speaks to the main characters, but he also has a habit of making 'cool' dynamic entries. Needless to say, if a person has just met Zed they would hardly believe that he is a demon at all. Or even just roll their eyes if he claims he is 'very evil' or something of the sort.

Well it would be clear that he is quite egotistical -- to the point where it is borderline ridiculous. He easily extracts praises about himself from his mouth, as well as having a habit of bragging about himself a lot. Hence, you will see a lot of arrogance and cockiness eminent from him like a duck flying in the night sky. Being very noticeable, I mean.

Zed happens to lack a good amount of common sense. Which can result to some frustrating, wall banging, or confusion whenever anyone has the pleasure of interacting with him.

That fact, and that he isn't actually interested much in chaos and destruction compared to like every other Metal Demon that ever existed makes him stick out like a sore thumb. His first appearance ironically has him pop up on a ship from outta nowhere, saying two people kissing in public is immoral -- during what appears to be a wedding. Clearly, this is a sign he has good morals. Yeah.

Also, Zed aspires to be the coolest guy ever!

Heheheh...

Prepare to be amazed by the super great, cool...Zed! And guess who that happens to be? Me! Yes, me!

Just by hearing my voice, you should be honored to bask in such a glorious moment! It is one of those things that would happen once in a lifetime! I mean, being able to talk with me.

Ahem! Greetings all humans and all other beings, I am what you call a fearsome, strong, evil Metal Demon. That's right, you should be afraid!

[He pauses to hear if there would be any voices that expressed fear and awe. But not for long.]

He will certainly be impressed now, and there's no way they wouldn't be able to not praise me now for my brilliance!

[Cue laughter of some sort.]

Third Person:

At Bad Guy's HQ:

"Hmph! No one recognizes my talent, of the one and only great and amazing Zed!"

The green-haired male stomped out of the room at the conclusion of what could only be a very evil meeting. He kicked some piece of rubble or trash that happened to be in the way of his feet as he continued on his way, his attitude very much now at like that of a angry child's. Of course, he was totally hate that kind of comparison.

Either way, it was hard for him not to get mad whenever he had thought about the -- in his mind -- disastrous conclusion of the meeting. Sure, it wasn't as important as the others, but the Quarter Knights still attended for maybe just for show. Either way, he was certainly ignored when he tried to venture outloud a great idea. Heck, he didn't even get a chance to voice much of it when he was instantaneously shot down by a certain boisterous bone-headed idiot. Something about his 'input would only involve holes' or something.

And then, suddenly an idea!

"Ha! I got it! Now, with this plan there's no way I'll fail!"

Then he ran forward excitingly down the hall, and then slipped on that rubbish he kicked, face falling into the ground first. What a spectacular fall!

History: Prince Vegeta is a Saiyan. The son of King Vegeta, ruler of the Saiyan's homeplanet of the same name (Vegeta). Since infancy, Vegeta had more power inside him than any of the other Saiyans, including his own father. At a young age, his father trained him to use this power and taught him how to be ruthless and decisive. However, King Vegeta soon had to give his son over to Freeza, leader of the Planet Brokers empire, who had also sensed Vegeta's potential and didn't want it to be used against him. Soonafter, Freeza killed King Vegeta and blew up the Saiyan planet. Vegeta was one of four Saiyans left alive. Freeza raised Vegeta to be a warrior for him for the remainder of his childhood.

Over the years, Vegeta came to resent Freeza. Harboring suspisions that Freeza destroyed the Saiyan race, he hoped to become stronger so that he could kill and overthrow Freeza. So when he heard about the dragon balls on Earth, he seized his chance to seek them out so that he could wish for eternal life and unlimited power. He and his Saiyan partner Nappa went to Earth and killed most of it's defending fighters in order to find the dragon balls. But then the surviving Saiyan Kakarrot, who was raised on Earth as "Son Goku", arrived on the battlefield and easily desposed of Nappa. Vegeta then fought Goku himself and though he overpowered him at first, Goku was able to beat him with help from his friends Krillin and Yajorobe, and his son Gohan. But wanting another chance to fight him and beat him fairly, Goku let Vegeta escape in his spacepod. Vegeta has promised that he will get stronger and he will have revenge....

Treize Khushrenada.
Fandom: Gundam Wing
Character Notes:

Treize outwardly displays traits of being cold, keeping generally to himself, as he speaks rarely to others, and showing quite the reserved manner in doing so in that respect or in the fact that he doesn't allow himself to be easily governed by his emotions. Then there is his adoration for war.

There is that he shows cases where it is obvious that he values the concepts of the ancient honor and chivalry variety -- that which he shows where he insists on a one-on-one battle duel. When I say one-on-one battle I mean get out of the mech and fight sword-to-sword instead. Ironically, this part of himself collides with that part which makes him quite ruthless when he's shooting for his goals -- as he will show large amounts of exceptional cruelty to make sure he is successful in his endeavors. Even so, he continues to think of such moral ideas as something he would be able to still adhere to...at least when he's not being ambitious.

Treize is a very talented man, who is superb at strategy, being a tactician and such -- which indicates a good amount of intelligence and have some sort of slyness on his part.

What Treize does keep hidden from view is his incredible amount of loyalty to the lucky few he considers to be his friends. He even is able to fall in love, something he himself does not seem to be aware of. Even more out there is that he dislikes bringing harm to people, and is guilty over the deaths of those he has caused -- which he expresses to Wufei, as he is able to remember every person who has died by his hand. What exactly does this mean? It means that he is quite a mess on the inside, and that may be the reason why he allowed himself to be killed by Wufei. But, you could say it shows another degree of selfishness on his part.

I am taking him after he builds Epyon, a Gundam capable of standing up to even Gundam Zero.

[Voice]

Now, what is this?

...

[A pause, and a distinct "click" is heard as he shuts off the voice recorder. Then, a few minutes later:]

How interesting, this appears to be some sort of social community of some sort. I wonder, who exactly came up with such an idea? Either way, it does appear to provide some sort of amusement if one has some free time on their hands -- especially considering some of what has been said on a certain number of these entries.

[Perchance an amused chuckle? Because here is one.]

But I guess at least a number of you would venture who exactly it was that speaks these words.

Greetings, those in many "worlds" or elsewhere, I am Treize Khushrenada.

Third Person:

Tap, tap, tap.

The sound of water dripping as a single drop -- the sound it would probably register as to one who was a being smaller and inferior to the likes of a human being; no, more specifically perhaps an insect. It could also be the sound of blood dripping at a certain pace, onto another surface; like the sound of rain. Simply put, it was quite one of the many thoughts to occupy him during when he was working on finishing this wonderful piece of machinery known as a Gundam. Quite frankly, it was obvious that when he was placed into house arrest that he would have such time on his hands to further his plans. To him, it was almost as if there wasn't a roadblock in his path -- because honestly there wasn't. There was not anything that could stop him from achieving what he wanted, especially if he put his mind to it.

Except maybe death.

A thin smile raised his lips just a tad at this.

A bead of sweat dripped from his forehead, causing him to wipe it with a the sleeve of his white shirt. It was time to take a short break, he reasoned. Then, once his feet were touching the ground again, he walked up to one of the shades from the windows and pulled the cloth aside -- the blinding of the sudden shine from outside cast aside his doubt.

"What a beautiful light."

Treize muttered to himself, for a reason more than one.

Personality: Fawn is, perhaps above all else, and impish little fairy. She loves a good prank or just goofing around. Enthusiastic in all she does, she's fun-loving and very fond of playing fairy games such as leapfrog and fairy tag. Fawn is a tomboy of a fairy, and doesn't much like cleaning up or getting dressed in fancy clothes. She speaks her mind and is generally very brave, although certain things - like pirates - definitely scare her. Still, overall, Fawn's got a lot of guts.
Fawn is a very talented Animal Talent, great at talking to animals. In fact, she's great with animals in general, and that is where one can see that Fawn is more than just a rascal. She's got a truly nurturing side when it comes to taking care of others, especially animals, and she's very affectionate about this. She's also a very loyal friend, caring deeply about the happiness of those who are important to her. However, she knows where to draw the line between helping her friends and upholding her duty as a Never Fairy... Usually.
Other: As an Animal Talent, Fawn can converse with all sorts of animals easily. She has a natural gift for interacting with them.
As far as canon events go, this Fawn is taken strictly from the films, (She is taken from after the two released movies; the events of the newest movie will have to happen next summer, because I do wish to have them happen in-game, but the movie doesn't come out until after the summer, so... Yeah.), but some of the general fairy canon is taken from the books. Overall, though, she's heavily movie-based.

Character Notes:
History:
Because I like to keep pulling characters from their beginnings Clare is coming in around Extra Scene 4, which means, she'll be continuously, if not aggressively canon updated quite a bit. Of course, she will be bumped up to the first few chapters of Claymore until I deem her well enough with plenty of CR and development.

Not much is known about Clare. She doesn't recall her parents or her family -- she has a vague memory of perhaps a brother, but it's up in the air. The reason being for this, to be blunt, she's repressed a lot of her trauma. The point of this trauma is simple: Her family was murdered by yoma, much like anyone. But an exception was that Clare was taken with the yoma, dragged town to town, abused by them. As a result, she's gotten many scars and had shut herself off emotionally and physically, becoming a mute child. No one dared to come near her, in fear of yoma retaliation and in the fact Clare may have been a yoma herself, since they were known shape-shifters.

This kept up until a Claymore came to the village she was in and killed her tormentors, Teresa of the Faint Smile. From the get go, Clare felt compelled to latch onto her, because she felt Teresa was the same as her, wanting to comfort her. The urge was so powerful, it was the only thing that Clare knew and she followed Teresa, risking her life against both Teresa and bandits who had followed Teresa. She pushed herself to limits, dehydrating and starving herself. Eventually, Teresa realized she'd be blamed if anything happened to Clare. So she gave her food and water, and Clare became more attached. Eventually, Teresa even gave her the name "Clare", which may or may not be her real name all the long.

The bond grew stronger when on of the bandits who Teresa had severed an arm in self-defense attempted to rape Teresa, but it was Clare who snuck behind him and hit him with a tree branch. The bandit kicked her off and began to beat Clare, when Teresa interrupted him, basically telling him she'd kill him and disregard the Claymore cardinal rule of not killing humans. The man was spooked off. But Clare broke her silence and told Teresa why she followed her:

"Your eyes... they look like mine. You looked so sad. So, I..."

Are you at least 15?: Yes
Current Characters: Joshua Preston

Character: Sara Smith
Fandom: Bliss Stage
Character Notes:
History:

Sara Smith is the single youngest ANIMa Pilot of the Resistance from the main book, an Innocent Sweetheart under the game rules - for all her bravado, false or otherwise, she hasn't had her first kiss or tried to kill another human being - which makes her an anomaly, as old as 14.

She and her brother Derek were founding members of the Resistance against the alien Nightmares - Derek protected her from the worst of the post-invasion horrors, human or otherwise, and his genius in matters scientific and psychic allowed him to create the ANIMa, the weapon they use to fight back.

Sara has seen a lot of death and pain and darkness, but she's also seen a lot of love and hope and light. She is a vicious little child of a world without adults, but she's also truly an innocent; she beleives that people are basically good unless they screw up, or are forced to do bad things to live.

Here's hoping she's right.

Personality:

Sara is an innocent little teenage girl of the age of 14.

The above sentence should be extremely frightening, especially since she's survived 7 years of Lord of the Flies bullshit, 5 of which involved aliens actively trying to kill her and anyone else.

Innocent means, among other things, that she doesn't know yet why it's a bad idea to flirt with any cute guy that moves just to watch them, and her brother, squirm. Or why 'he hit me first' is a poor excuse to go for the eyes. To be fair, this is mostly why she's a Pilot, and in that it's a good thing: she is a TANK in combat, and with Derek as her Anchor her mecha regenerates faster than it can be damaged. But this is a poor way to approach life on Earth, long term.

On the other hand she's, keenly aware of how lucky she is to be in the Resistance instead of out in the gangs and post-urban tribes of San Francisc - to have three meals a day of rough wheat bread, eggs, and occasional chicken and vegetables; to be surrounded by people who have her back and are, on the whole, uncommonly heroic; and to have her brother still alive when so few people had any kind of father figure to help them.

Sara is a strange blend of ruthlessly pragmatic and hopelessly romantic. She beleives in love at first sight, mostly because she's never had her heart broken; and in the idea that war, while bad, can be heroic.

She's going to get badly hurt. And she needs it. But her brother fears it, and she'll never see it coming.

First Person (entry type)- prompt: Someone important to you

...How many of you have brothers and sisters?

How many of you want to DECK your brothers and sisters?

[locked to friends]I'm not a kid anymore, Derk. I'm a PILOT, for Christ's sake. I'm old enough to hang out with boys, and if... he... offers me weed I'll just say no. I thought he trusted me...

And I kind of need to do this sort of thing so I can keep my guns and swords and the Energy Sheath working and more powerful, too. I love him, and I know he means well, but I feel like he wants me to stay his little sister that he protects.

It's my turn to protect him.

Dammit.[locked]

Third Person (better than expected):

Sara takes a moment to frown at her reflection in the still water of the Bay, then she draws her arms to the side and pushes in.

Keenan blinked. "...Girl, what the ever-loving lord are you doing?"

"Trying to make my boobs look bigger," she - there was no other word for it - whined.

Keenan choked off his spluttered laughter at Sara's dirty look. "Sorry, s'just... okay, enlighten me. What's movin' a letter or two up gonna do for you?"

"Come on, Kaycee." Sara looked him in the eyes with a frown she didn't realize was utterly rediculous. "If I look more like a woman and less like a girl, SOME PEOPLE might stop TREATING me like a girl."

Keenan sighed. "Sara, you're a sweetheart, but it do not be workin' that way. All that'll happen in your brother's eyes is 'oh great, now I'll have to beat off boys with a stick instead of a glare.' Sides, you ain't exactly got the smallest boobs in the world."

"I'm an A-cup," Sara snarls.

Keenan grinned.

"What?" Sara said.

Keenan reached around her and squeezed her, experimentally.

"...h-hey!" Sara said, more out of surprise than indignation - Keenan was kind of that way, and kind of cute.

"Bullshit," he said. "B. On your frame, and with the sweaters you wear, that counts for a hell of a lot, girl. Count your blessings. Not everyone can have Anna's rack."

Sara thought about this, then grinned. Fangs. "Yeah, they'd look kind of odd on you - ow!"

Sara swung wildly in retaliation for Keenan's cuffing her, and missed, and then started to chase him while waving her firsts, both laughing the whole time.

Re: Ranka Lee | Macross Frontier 2/?

[identity profile] geek-among-men.livejournal.com 2010-08-08 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History:
--> Ranka's first appearance in the series is when she literally bumps into the protagonist, Alto Saotome. She thinks he's a beautiful girl at first (there's a reason his nickname's "Princess"), but quickly learns her mistake. They talk for as Alto prepares for his job as a pilot stuntman for Sheryl Nome's concert. They get along famously and they part on good terms before the concert.

--> Fast-forward to about halfway through the concert and its abrupt interruption by aliens attacking Frontier. Alto has the misfortune of seeing a fighter pilot ripped out of his cockpit and killed by an alien outside of the arena. Even worse is that there's a civilian in danger--Ranka. He jumps into the now empty plane despite his inexperience to save his new friend. Stupid, yes; heroic, yes. Ranka is saved.

--> Another fast-forward. Ranka is approached by a young woman to take her around Frontier and the two spend the day together quite happily. They run into Alto on one of the many observation decks. Ranka beings to sing one of Sheryl's songs and the woman asks her if she's a fan. She responds that Sheryl is her idol. Alto comes across the two of them and it's then that the woman reveals her true identity--Sheryl Nome. Ranka is understandably freaked out that she's been talking with the galaxy's biggest pop star. Cue another alien attack and all of them hunker down in the emerengency shelter for safety where awkward funtimes occur. The leader of the fighter pilot group that fights the aliens, Ozma Lee (Ranka's brother), is injured during the battle. Alto visits him afterwards to check on him and there, Ozma tells Alto the truth behind Ranka's past.

--> Ranka is not originally from Macross Frontier. She and her family lived on Macross Global which was a ship attached to the 117th Large Scale Research Fleet. During one of Ozma's early missions, he responded to an attack by aliens known as the Vajra on Global. The entire ship was destroyed and Ranka was the only survivor. Ozma returned to Frontier, took in the young Ranka, and raised her as his little sister. She has unconsciously blocked all her memories of the events because of how traumatic they were and has absolutely no idea that the Vajra who are now attacking Frontier are the ones who are responsible for killing her family. In stressful situations, she suffers from sudden flashes of memories and goes into a panic. Ozma has no intention of telling her and asks Alto to do the same. Alto relucltanly agrees with Ranka's well-being in mind.

--> In the present, life goes on. Sheryl continues her concert, Alto joins the military group that Ozma captains (known as the SMS), and Ranka decides to go after her dream of becoming a singer. She enters the annual beauty pagaent Miss Macross in the hopes that she'll be noticed by a talent scout. She's nervous; she's going against much older women and she's naturally shy in front of large crowds. She gives herself a personal pep-talk; it gets a bit of an extra punch when Sheryl, who's on the panel as a guest judge, tells her to go out there and give it her all. Ranka is also pushed to do her best by the presence of Alto in the crowd. Unfortunately, he's pulled away at the last second by a Vajra attack in another part of space. Her performance is markedly different when she notices he's not there: before, she's inwardly nervous and outwardly confident; after, it's the the extreme opposite. Ranka makes it to the finals, but ultimately loses.

--> Ranka is in low spirits after Miss Macross. It doesn't help that she and Ozma have an argument over her decision to pursue a career as a singer. She runs out of the house and later, she's found by one of Michel, one of Alto's teammates. He decides to treat her to ice cream at the mall in an attempt to cheer her up. There, he tells her the simple truth: she can wallow in her sadness or face the challenge. He asks her to sing, right there in the mall, surrounded by thousands of people. She's terrified at first, but in the end, she ends up blowing everyone away. Someone definitely notices.

THUS BEGINS THE LEGEND OF RANKA LEE.

Are you at least 15?: Y.
Current Characters: Edward Elric, Touya Akira

Character: Kou Ichijo
Fandom: Persona 4
Character Notes:
History:
*Kou was left at an orphanage when he was too young to remember. It is unknown if his birth parents are deceased or not.
*Kou was adopted into the Ichijo family. The grandmother is the head of the household and what she says goes. They are very traditional and distinguished. They have a fair amount of money considering Kou has his own place next to his parents' and they pay an allowance for him to live on.
*Kou was adopted because his parents couldn't conceive a child, so they adopted him. When he was fourteen they gave birth to a baby girl.
*Kou's home life involves tea ceremonies, as well as other studies that his grandmother believes will make him an upstanding citizen. He also has to attend society functions.
*Kou's attitude to this is that it's an exchange for them providing for him.
*Despite the ambivalence surrounding Sachiko, Kou loves her, because she's just like an adorable baby sister he wanted.
*Kou suspects Sachiko will be the successor and he feels that's right because he's adopted and she's really their child. His suspicions deepen when he's told that he can do whatever he wants. His grandmother had been against him playing basketball, but now it's fine for him to do it.
*Kou finds this news surprisingly disheartening and gets depressed.
*Kou goes to the Institute to learn about his real parents and returns with a letter, however it appears as though the letter (which says they died) was written by the lady who runs the Institute.
*He is disheartened to learn they had died, supposedly.
*Because of this he confronts his family and learns his fears are relatively ungrounded and he vows to learn everything he can to be the best big brother he can.

Personality:
Kou is a friendly guy. He's relatively laid back and relaxed. He's the captain of the basketball team and he tries to be encouraging but he doesn't actually take a stand to force his team to practice. Kou is someone who wears many masks. Despite his friendly, outgoing personality at school, alone he can be quite sullen, quiet and melancholic as he is with Daisuke and Souji when he gets down. He's passionate about basketball, and when he loses that feeling it is only when he thought it might not be worth playing. He has a shyness when it comes to girls. Despite liking Chie, he never says anything to her about it. At home he plays the part of the noble gentleman. He studies hard at his lessons in etiquette and mannerisms, and is quite adept at social gatherings of the upper class. Whether or not Kou likes these things (he doesn't), he is very good at hiding his true feelings. Sometimes it's hard to know if Kou is being genuine but he usually is.

Other:
Kou likes to eat a lot. He especially enjoys eating at Aiya's. He has a bit of a crush on Chie as well, but he doesn't think she likes him. He has a low tolerance for vulgarity from his school peers, as he's still prim and proper outside of school. He also has a high amount of respect for women and degrading them with vulgarity is a no-no.

First Person (entry type):
I went to the family house today for dinner, which is always a tiring affair and of course Grandmother was laying into me, how I should quit basketball and focus on my studies so I can be a decent match to expand her empire. But never mind that. Sachiko did the most adorable thing at dinner!

She's learning how to use a spoon and halfway through the meal, all of a sudden, out of nowhere, her dinner hits my Grandmother in the face! Now I'm usually pretty good at these things but I couldn't help it, I burst out laughing despite myself and Sachiko gave me the biggest brightest smile ever. She's the best little sister, really. My mom had to scold her and my dad smacked me in the back of the head, and of course Grandmother's pissed at me, but man it was the greatest fun I've had there in awhile. Dinner is always so sombre and boring and the food's too small and geeze. I always feel like running out to Aiya's afterwards, but of course Kou-sama's not really supposed to run. Sometimes I don't know what to think. I love hanging out with Daisuke - and Souji when he was here. I wish playing basketball was more simple, I love doing it, that should be enough right?

Anyway, I've got a getup to get out of and homework to finish. If it's not too late after I change, I might go for a run.

Third Person:

Kou had his eyes closed, and his fingers pinching the bridge of his nose. He opened them and stared at his teammates. "Come on, all we've done is take a few free-throw shots!"

The grumbling was giving him a migraine. "Oh fine, just go home!" Kou turned his back on those lazy good for nothings and he grabbed a basketball, bouncing it idly before doing drills by himself. His teammates were always like this, and it bothered him but if he took in a deep breath and concentrated, he could shake them off. He had bigger goals, and he was serious about basketball.

"Kou's coming down the centre! He fakes to the left, he fakes to the right, three steps and he dunks the ball! The crowd goes wild! Kou's the winner!" Kou cheered and held up his arms in victory.

Daisuke was laughing in the doorway and Kou turned to him, giving him a glare with a hint of amusement. "Oh shut up!" Kou threw a ball at Daisuke.

Daisuke caught it in his hands and bounced it a few times. "Well if Kou-chan's so great, then I'd better surrender now!"

"That's right, you'd better." Kou said with a laugh and smiled, tilting his head. "Drop the Kou-chan crap. I hate it when the girls do it. Here-" He held out his hands and caught the ball. He grabbed a cloth, polished it and set it back on the rack. "Let's grab a snack at Aiya's! I'm starved."

Daisuke pat Kou on the shoulder as they headed out of the gym together.

Character: Nastasia
Fandom: Paper Mario
Character Notes:
History:
Nastasia was not born in the same dimention as any of her future friends, nor was she born as a human. Instead, she was born as a bat. One day, she got trapped in a bat-trap. If it was not for a man rescuing her, she would have died. And how would he repay him, except for turning to a human, and pledging eternal gratitude? Well, no other way. Because that's what she did.
That man was a man called Blumere, who was searching for his girlfriend. See, his girlfriend got cursed to wander though dimentions, away from him. Sucks. Anyway, Nastasia journied with him, but started to grow a crush on him. Of course, he only had eyes for his girlfriend.
She always stood by him, even when he decides to use the dark powers of the Dark Prognosticus to destroy all worlds. Nastasia still pledges herself to him, though in the back of her mind, she's a little worried about this turn of events. Y'know, because the end of the world would mean everything would be gone.
As his oldest minion, she became the second-in-command to the newer members, and eventually began to run Castle Bleck.
She grew to appriciate her 'underlings' like a family. But then Bleck started his plans to use the Dark Prognosticus, by kidnapping Princess Peach and Bowser, to wed them. That would create the Chaos Heart, to destroy all worlds. Take that, shippers! Nastasia was along for the wedding, and had to hypnotise Peach. This was a good showing of her powers. Then, Bleck assigned her to tracking down the Princess, Bowser and Luigi. But before that, she had to mass-hypnotise the troops of Bowser, an easy task.
Personality:
Nastasia tends to be cold to those she doesn't know. Cold and strict with her conversations. However, deep down, she cares for her friends. Her heart isn't as dark as she lets on -- she doesn't believe in the goals of Count Bleck as much as she lets on. But, she doesn't wish to betray the man who saved her life.
To those who get close to her, she's a lot calmer and relaxed, though she still likes to run things by the book.
It's not easy to get Nastasia flustered. But, if you're close to her, it's a bit easier. Just try and tease her about her crush on Count Bleck. Another way to get though to her is to insulate she's not doing her job well. She doesn't tend to get angry, or raise her voice. Her anger tends to lead to her scheming some kind of revenge, not pummeling somebody into a bloody mess. After all, she knows she doesn't have the body to hurt somebody though serious bodily harm.
Another important thing to know about Nastasia -- she tends to stick to a schedule, to make sure that everything is on-track for the destruction, while not missing any important events. When this falls apart, she tends to fall into a slump, where she doesn't talk to anybody, while getting her life back on track.
Other:
In canon, Nastasia has powerful hypnosis powers, used by either shining her glasses/showing her eyes (it isn't elaborated on in canon). I believe they wouldn't work though computer screens.
She's taken from the very start of canon, just after Peach has escaped the castle.
Canonly, Nastasia has a few verbal tics. At the ends of questions, she tends to say "'k", as in okay. Also, she ums, uhs, and ers a lot. Though I don't believe this would extend to typing.

Oerba Dia Vanille | Final Fantasy XIII | 2/?

[identity profile] woodpecks.livejournal.com 2010-08-09 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History: FINAL FANTASY XIII SPOILERS AHOY

Five hundred years before the main game, the War of Transgression raged between the two main human settlements of the world: Gran Pulse and Cocoon. Vanille lived in Gran Pulse when her parents were killed by Cocoon l'Cie (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/L'Cie). She was sent to an orphanage in Oerba where she met another war orphan, Oerba Yun Fang. They form a close relationship quickly, eventually even promising that they'd never be apart.

Then Fang decided she wanted to become a l'Cie to protect Gran Pulse and Vanille in particular. Vanille tags along, deciding that becoming a l'Cie with Fang is more preferable than being alone. The Pulse fal'Cie (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Fal'Cie) Anima granted the duo the Focus of becoming the monstrous Ragnarok and destroying Cocoon.

Which...didn't happen. Fang wished to do this but Vanille did not, being scared. So Fang became Ragnarok by herself and scarred Cocoon but wasn't able to destroy it. A goddess then drained the power of Ragnarok and turned both Fang and Vanille into crystal, Focus incomplete.

Fast forward five hundred years, Fang and Vanille wake up. In Cocoon. Fang's brand is scarred, her Focus complete. Vanille's--do to her cowardice--is still active. Lying to Fang that she can't remember what her Focus is, Vanille starts the chain of events that would ultimately lead to Serah and Dajh becoming l'Cie as well as the Purge that would result in Nora Estheim, Hope's mother, being killed.

Oops.

Anyways, Fang's upset at this news. She doesn't want her best friend becoming a monstrous Cei'th so they infiltrate the closest facility that houses a Cocoon fal'Cie. The fal'Cie wakes up, branding a young boy, and the two flee. They get separated, Vanille becomes frantic and returns to where they woke up: Bodhum Village.

Then the Purge happened and shit started to get real. Vanille ran into Hope and his mother, deciding that she would become a Cie'th, she would help the family survive in Gran Pulse. Which didn't come to pass because of Snow's rebel group, NORA, disrupting their train. This lead to Nora's death as she volunteered to fight with the rebels.

There's really a lot more to her history but it's even more spoilerly, so have a link (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Oerba_Dia_Vanille#Story) to the rest of her history.

Character: Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy
Fandom: Star Trek XI
Character Notes: BEWARE OF SPOILERS AHEAD
History:
Leonard McCoy was born on June 12, 2227 to Dr. David McCoy (Doctor of Internal Medicine) and Eleanora McCoy (Midwife) in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. He had a fairly normal childhood, growing up in a quiet suburb just a few minutes drive from the main city. He understood that his parents were busy people and was set from an early age to become a great doctor 'Just like daddy!' But whenever Dr. and Mrs. McCoy were home, they made sure to spend as much time as possible with their little boy. When Leonard was 15, his mother left to go visit her colleagues in New York. He and his father were waiting at the port for her shuttlecraft to touch down back in Atlanta when tragedy struck. They watched in abject horror as the shuttlecraft crashed and incinerated right before their eyes. This put a strained relationship between father and son as the years passed by and cemented Leonard's complete and utter distrust of shuttlecrafts and flying. He entered and graduated from Ole Miss' medical school. When he was doing his residency, Leonard met and fell in love with a woman named Jocelyn. She was his greatest love and he was convinced right then and there that she was his soul mate. So upon completing his residency, he married her and the two had a beautiful daughter named Joanna.

Not all was well in the McCoy household. Leonard's father, David, fell ill with an excruciatingly painful and incurable disease. Leonard tried everything in his power: researching nonstop, round the clock shifts, calling research facility after research facility for any type of cure. The long hours put a strain on his marriage and pushed him further and further away from Jocelyn. Finally, David asked his son to put him out of his misery. After he had ended his father's life, he went on a downward spiral, throwing himself into his work. One day, he came home to find Jocelyn's bags packed and paperwork for a divorce on the kitchen table. Embittered, he went through the proceedings until he was barely left with the clothes on his back. With nothing to his name, he decided to join Starfleet. When he climbed onto that shuttle in Riverside, Iowa, he met a young man who would become his best friend: Jim Kirk, who christened him with a new nickname: Bones.

Despite his aviophobia, Bones went through Starfleet Medical training and became a Lieutenant Commander. He was the top of his class in anatomical and forensic pathology and lead the first aviophobia seminar. Unfortunately, his education was cut short by a distress call from Vulcan. Thus the Nero Incident unfolded. He snuck Jim onto the Enterprise and witnessed most of his classmates be killed off. Following an attack on the ship itself, Bones instantly became the Chief Medical Officer on the Enterprise. While his position dictated that he should've been in medical, Bones found himself on the bridge often to speak with Jim or Spock about important matters, be it following Nero's ship around or an attack on the pissed off Romulan. It was he who managed to undo most of the nerve damage Captain Pike suffered at the hands of Nero. Upon their safe return to Earth, Jim was appointed Captain of the Enterprise and handpicked Bones to be the Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy - Star Trek XI - 2/?

[identity profile] doc-leo-mccoy.livejournal.com 2010-08-10 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:
On the surface, Bones is a sarcastic doctor. And he makes sure everyone knows it. He prides himself in being a competent doctor and expects all those around him to be competent as well. He is efficient and runs everything in medical bay like clockwork. This is due to clocking in so many hours during his residency and afterwards and the fact that he cares deeply about his patients and does everything in his power to ensure that they are on their way back to health. This leaves him running a little bit ragged sometimes and he has a tendency to overwork himself. He's convinced that nobody actually listened to medical advice so he makes sure he delivers the news bluntly and straight to the point instead of losing most people to medical jargon. He takes great joy in engaging Spock in discussions on emotions versus logic.

But underneath all that, Bones cares fiercely for his friends and loved ones. He's quick to defend them, despite his crass exterior. It's through this trust and faith in his friends that had him sneak Jim on board the Enterprise when Kirk was supposedly grounded for cheating in the Kobayashi Maru. He's not afraid to speak his mind even when Jim's the captain. He often looks forward to his daughter's messages from Earth and misses her every day. She takes precedence over everything else in his life.

Character: Elphaba Thropp
Fandom: Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz and minor aspects drawn from Gregory Maguire’s Wicked: The life and times of the Wicked Witch of the West.

Character Notes:
History:
Elphaba Thropp was born on the 31st October in a small farm house in Munchkinland to the more scared and intimidated then happy Frexspar and Melena Thropp. They were so because their newly born daughter was a frightful shade of green. Unfortunately the baby girl never ‘grew out’ of her green-ness, something that her father as a Unionist minister and preacher found abhorrent and as a result caused him to dislike his eldest daughter immensely.

Elphaba has shown a great aptitude for magic that manifested itself originally only when she was angry or upset, something that immediately caught the eye of Madame Morrible as she tried to get to her sister Nessarose who she is extremely protective over due to her being disabled and in need of a wheelchair.

Since her attending Shiz University, Elphaba has struck up an extremely unlikely friendship with Galinda Upland, a rich Gilikanese girl due to the circumstance of being forced to share a room with her rather then her sister Nessarose like what was planned a friendship that developed from pure loathing. After attending the party at the Ozdust ballroom, which ends in near disaster for everyone, Galinda decides to try and make Elphaba popular like herself, something that results in Fiyero, the Winkie prince noticing her and helping her to rescue an Animal (a small lion cub capable of speech such as that of a human being) after Dr Dillamond is removed from his position of teacher at Shiz.

Dr Dillamond was quite easily known to Elphaba as her favourite teacher at Shiz despite being a Goat and she is deeply troubled when he is fired due to being an Animal and replaced as she is a great supporter of Animal rights.

Re: Elphaba Thropp || Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of OZ 2/3

[identity profile] chekovinthesky.livejournal.com 2010-08-10 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
Personality: Elphaba is by her very definition a completely and utterly devout student. She takes immense pride in her own intelligence and is rarely seen without her nose in a book or deep in thought. She isn’t by nature a very sociable young woman, preferring the company of her teachers and books as to her other Shiz University students so it’s understandable that she keeps a tight knit group of friends and tends not to socialize outside of that. Elphaba herself is a very caring person, constantly looking after her younger sister; Nessarose and attending to her, although it could be argued that the only reason she does this is because Nessa is her Father’s favourite and she is constantly vying for his approval and affection which she has been deprived of.

She is incredibly ambitious and plans to work by the Wizard’s side one day in order to gain approval by her Father and her peers, something she has never felt she has gained due to the oddity of her green skin. Despite all of this she is a fairly level headed girl, more then capable of taking care of herself and those who she cares for and she’s more then willing to stand up for a cause she truly believes in, such as what was displayed when she rescued the lion cub as a protest against the abolishment of Animal Rights.

Other: It should be noted that Elphaba has not yet become the Wicked Witch of the West and wouldn’t understand and reference to it despite her green skin as she has yet to go to see the Wizard of Oz and rebel against him and the plans he and Madam Morrible have made for her.

She is taken from the point in the musical just after ‘Not that Girl’ but before ‘One Short Day’.

First Person (entry type):

I can’t find it anywhere and Nessa is already getting herself upset. Who knew that the scarf that I sent home for her during my first week of Shiz would be so important to the poor dear? I certainly had no idea she had taken such an odd fondness to the thing. Galinda had found it rather hideous when I had first picked it up, explaining to me that red did not match well with my skin, it took a while for the vain little thing to work out that it wasn’t for me. Or her for that matter as I rather think she had taken a fancy to it herself.

At any rate, I have looked everywhere from her, from the libraries in Crage Hall to actually underneath her own bed although she insists that I shall find nothing under there. Wherever it is, I had better find it fast before Nessie catches herself a chill and managed to write home to father about her illness, only meaning to gain sympathy for herself but instead highlighting my failures in taking care of her.

Maybe I could try the dining halls?

Re: Link | Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks | 2/??

[identity profile] heroingreen.livejournal.com 2010-08-10 11:31 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Link
Fandom: Legend of Zelda (Spirit Tracks)
Character Notes:
History:
This Link is the newest (at least until Skyward Sword comes out) reincarnation of the Hero of Time. He was born in New Hyrule and trained to become a...erm...train conductor, and lived with Niko, one of the first settlers, and Alfonzo, his mentor.

The day of his graduation, he met Princess Zelda and her suspicious Chancellor Cole. After the graduation rites, Zelda slipped him a note that told him to meet her in her room and make sure he wasn't seen by the guards or Chancellor Cole, as she thought there was something about to happen with the Spirit Tower (that supports all the Spirit Tracks in New Hyrule). Something very wrong.

Soon enough, he met up with her and got the recruit uniform so he could get past the guards without them suspecting anything wrong. With Zelda however, it was a different story, so he distracted them as Zelda snuck past. Once outside, they both got on the train with Alfonzo waiting, and promptly dashed away to the Spirit Tower.

Except for one problem. The Spirit Tracks suddenly disappeared, and the train skidded to a stop. Link, Zelda and Alfonzo got out of the train just in time to find the Spirit Tower breaking apart. And that was when Chancellor Cole showed up with Byrne and revealed that he was the one responsible for the disappearing Spirit Tracks and the Tower's breaking apart. Why? Because he was a demon that wanted to resurrect Malladus, the Demon King (who bears quite a resemblance to Ganondorf).

Alfonzo tried to stop them, but was quickly defeated by Byrne. Link? Same thing. Zelda was zapped with dark magic that separated her spirit from her body, and her newly-soulless body was taken away. Link, however, was conscious for long enough to witness that.

A few hours later, Link woke up to find himself in Hyrule Castle, still in the recruit uniform and being taken care of by Teacher. Once he told Teacher about what had happened to Zelda, he went back to her room, and found...her spirit! At the very least, though, he was the only one who could see her. Her guards did not.

Current Characters: [livejournal.com profile] netdiver_ed: Radical Ed.

Character: Shihouin Yoruichi
Fandom: Bleach
Character Notes:
History: Born to one of the very noble families in Soul Society, Shihouin Yoruichi was groomed for rule. Her family traditionally led the Soul Society version of the secret service, the Onmitsukido. Also she was captain of the second squad. Even when she was a noble, she didn't act like a noble is supposed to act. Probably got a lot of raised eyebrows and such. But she did her job, and she did it hella well, becoming like, the best EVER at flash stepping and hand to hand combat and an expert in kido. She's pretty damn awesome like that.

ANYWAY So she did that and she was friends with Urahara and the bane of Byakuya's existence, and basically god to Soifon, buuuut then Urahara got on Aizen's bad side and Aizen framed Urahara and Urahara was going to get his ass handed to him but then Yoruichi was all like "oh no they didn't" and got his ass out of there.

Then she hung out with Urahara and company at his shop in the human world and was a cat most of the time.

Then stuff happened, Rukia got arrested, and Yoruichi helped Ichigo and friends to break in and stuff, and got in people's faces (mostly Byakuya and Soifon) to make sure they didn't tear the kids a new one or something, and also because DAYUM a hundred years away and you need to resolve some issues, man. ISSUES.

After Aizen went to his little hole in the sky with his friends with little holes in their stomachs, Yoruichi went back to hang out with Urahara and company, and basically just sticks her nose in when everyone else is going "OMG WE'RE ALL SCREEEEEEEWED" and then she and Urahara pop up and go "LOL no you're not" and beat stuff up and then disappear again. That's pretty much it.

Personality: Awesome. She's so badass it's not even funny. Most of the time, when things aren't all SRSBUISNESS she's completely relaxed, and wonders why others aren't, too. She acts wild and crazy and carefree, but when shit goes down, Yoruichi gets serious. Super serious. Kinda philosophical, too.

She's really not the noble type, honestly. When she's serious, she kind of seems to be, and she's a good leader and excellent strategist, but she just doesn't care about noble stuff, and kind of sees it as useless. She does see the point in Soul Society, though. She was disenchanted by it after the whole fiasco with Urahara, but she's dedicated to protecting people, and making sure people can help themselves. Helping people help themselves is the main reason why she stays on the sidelines, I think. That, and because people are still all "BETRAYER YOU LEFT OMG WHYYYYY" even after they cleared that up. So she just shrugs and says, "whatever, have it your way, I'm gonna go hang out with Urahara over here. Scream bloody murder if you and the entire world are about to be destroyed or something."

Other: DDD Bleach cast has started over or something? Whatever, I'll go with the flow.

Yoruichi 2/2

[identity profile] captainlilith.livejournal.com 2010-08-11 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
First Person (entry type): So hey guys, what's up. Haven't heard a whole lot from this end in a while. Kinda lost interest, to be honest. Anything interesting happen? Does Byakuya still have a stick up his ass? Wait, no, don't answer that question. Of course he does. You know, believe it or not, he was a lot more interesting when he was a kid. More fun to hang out with. Hard to imagine, I know. But hey, people change over a century. Well, most people do. I know a couple people that haven't changed at all. Weird to think about, but there you go.

Third Person: "OI! KISUKE! WHERE THE HELL DID MY HAIR TIE GO?" Yoruichi was stomping around the building, purple hair loose and flowing around her face and down her back. She was looking in drawers, opening closets, ruffling through papers, turning over tables, and generally making a horrible mess. "I NEED MY DAMN HAIR TIE, DAMMIT!" Her sporadic bellowing was making the thin doors shake. Where Kisuke had run off to couldn't be certain, and whenever he got back, he'd probably get an earful. But for now, Yoruichi was fuming. She wasn't the type to lose things frequently, and usually prided herself on knowing where everything she needed was, being able to put her hands on something at a moment's notice.

But now, a small thing had escaped her. And she didn't like it when things escaped her. She frowned. It was just a hair tie, she shouldn't be getting upset about this. Suddenly, she flopped down on a nearby cushion and considered her predicament.

Hair tie. Nothing particularly special about it. She liked it, but not enough to get angry about losing it. So what was the big deal? Was it just that she didn't like losing things? Or was something else going on?

Letting out a tremendous sigh, Yoruichi closed her eyes and leaned back on the wall, folding her arms behind her head. She'd live without the hair tie. In the grand scheme of things, it really wasn't that important. She could get a new one.

Senji Kiyomasa [CROW] | Deadman Wonderland | 2/3

[identity profile] touchmy12inch.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History: Before arriving in Deadman Wonderland, Senji was a police officer using his particular branch of sin (dubbed the Crow Claw) to help take care of criminals, famed for his strength among wrongdoers in the slums. He attempted to help restore order after the great Tokyo earthquake with a few other members. Unfortunately, their efforts were resented by several of the criminals and the group was set up by a dick called Akatsuki. A message was sent to Senji, intending to provoke him. Senji, thinking he could handle it easily, found himself suddenly incapacitated by his superior while the others went to deal with the challenge. When Senji was able to go after them, he found his teammates torn to pieces. Things go pretty downhill from there and he winds up in Deadman Wonderland. During his time in the prison, he gets the initials DSMK tattooed above his right eye as a reminder of his murdered friends.

In Deadman Wonderland, Ganta discovers Senji, now mostly referred to as Crow, being held in the G sector while searching for the 'Red Man'. When Ganta and Shiro find themselves on the verge of destruction at the hands of a big robot thing, Crow destroys it and then immediately issues a challenge to Ganta, though it's quickly apparent that some wires have gotten crossed - Ganta assumed Crow was the Red Man but Crow soon explains otherwise. He launches himself into another attack but gets owned by Shiro because OH GOD TITS. Not long after that, everyone gets tranquillised aaand...

Later, the two are pitted against each other once more. Crow, along with other inmates possessing 'branches of sin', takes part in the 'Carnival Corpse'. During this event, various Deadmen, as these particular inmates are called, are pitted against each other in a fight to either the death or just incapacitation. Ganta just barely wins the match, meaning that Crow is left to the mercy of the Punishment Game - he loses his right eye. However, he holds absolutely no resentment towards Ganta. After this, he seems to act like a mentor towards Ganta, encouraging him, but always reminding him never to be defeated, since Crow himself ended up losing to him. Since the cast is before Scar Chain stuff and Crow doesn't do a whole bunch other than tell Ganta to BEAT THE SHIT OUTTA MINATSUKI and getting free ramen out of him - anyway, I'll leave it there, if you'd like me to expand, I'll be happy to!

Personality: Crow is an independent guy, preferring not to rely on others or get too involved with them, after the heartache he went through as Senji. Resigned to his fate, he enjoys the Carnival Corpse fights where he can let his bloodthirsty side out to play. He also doesn't seem to particularly like others relying on him though with the arrival of Ganta, he takes on a kind of mentoring role, probably enjoying the way the kid looks up to him.

He's a pretty brash kind of guy and isn't afraid to tell anyone exactly what he thinks of them. For all that, he's really easily scandalised for some reason. He freaks the fuck out at anything that's slightly risque, or just a suggestion of something risque. All in all, Crow's really a good guy despite whatever evidence he presented to the contrary when we first met him - it's just that the prison has shaped him into something a little darker than he might have otherwise been.

Are you at least 15?: Enough over it that an age question almost makes me sweat…
Current Characters: Greed, FMA.

Character: Roy Mustang
Fandom: Fullmetal Alchemist – going with Anime1 this time.
Character Notes:
History: Amestris had been at war somewhere or another ever since Fuhrer Bradley had taken reign. This was strategically dressed up as internal uprisings or external threats. During the war, flame alchemy allowed Roy to rise in fame and rank, though he regretted the orders of killing so many innocents, including the Rockbell doctors who aided wounded on either side of the war. Regret over his actions during the war lead him to study human transmutation and to consider suicide, possibly with the former as a simply elaborate means of the latter, but he confessed was unable to do either in the end. He decided that his life should have a better use and dedicated himself to trying to change the nation from the top down. His aim for the top was ironically boosted by the actions in the war he was seeking to repent for, earning him the rank of Lieutenant Colonel by age 27. His fast rise in the ranks has earned him a few enemies in high places, but he also picked up a few very close allies beneath himself.

Because he was a threat in his fast rising through the ranks, not long after he’d recruited the Fullmetal Alchemist, he was reassigned to oversee the Eastern Headquarters; while his rank was promoted to Colonel, the purpose was to get him out of the spotlight in Central, something so obvious he openly mused to his superior that it was really a demotion. While in East City, he made use of the Fullmetal Alchemist to bolster the reputation of the military and State Alchemists as serving the people, but ultimately couldn’t prevent the start of a civil war in Liore that was plotted by the government itself, unbeknownst to Roy. While Roy conveniently forgot to mention to Ed the developing havoc in his wake, Roy’s friend Hughes conveniently forgot to mention to Roy the developing havoc in Ed’s midst. When Hughes was killed, Roy began a deeper look into the military seeking the reason he was killed, which uncovered a grand conspiracy surrounding the Philosopher’s Stone and the reason the nation had been consistently at war since Fuhrer Bradley’s reign began. For a while he held conflicting goals of rising in power, of stopping the chaotic conspiracy at the top and avenging Hughes’s death, and of protecting those benath him; in the end, he was only able defeat the Fuhrer. He was unable to save the Fuhrer’s son, and lost an eye in the aftermath. He accepted that the world and plans are not perfect, but still held himself responsible for his actions in Ishbal and his inability to do much meaningful in changing the nation’s politics. He claimed to see the people he’d killed with his lost eye. Thus, he stopped using Flame Alchemy and continued to serve Amestris, but only as a Briggs border guard, rank of Corporal, for two years. However, when Ed returned to Amestris, tailgated by a band of magical armored undead shadow Nazis (…Maybe it made sense in the 300 page original script?), Roy readily made use of his talents—both alchemy and military strategy—and seemed to get a sense of what he could do for the nation and those important to him again.

Personality: Roy can come off as somewhat standoffish or aloof, but he has the social graces to be pleasant about it. Properly distant but by no means cold, he can cover his emotions well, though the people close to him can read his patterns and he does have a boiling point. He has strong moral principles and holds himself and others to them fiercely, but he’s also prone to laziness, cynicism, manipulation, egotism, petty irritability and friendly mockery. These less desirable traits are more likely to arise with people he’s close to such as his subordinates, with whom he lets his guard down.

First Person (entry type):(226) Rank raising demotion aside, East City isn’t the worst place to be relocated. It’s no Central, but that seems as far as they’ve thought it out. The General in charge of the region is refreshingly capable of thinking several moves ahead; coincidentally, his hobby is chess. Fortunately, General Grumman is capable, but not ambitious. Not threatened. We indulge in his hobby once a week or so. Earning fame is crucial, but it’s not so bad, gaining experience with new responsibilities here in the East. The eyes overseeing you aren’t seeking an opportunity to pull the rug out from under you just to see you grovel.

A desert separates us from the nearest country’s border, making it one of the calmer regions, despite the recent civil war. It’s a safe enough place to send my most dangerous subordinate out and about, at any rate. He’s young, you see. Capable, I’ll give him that, but volatile. If he blows up in a delicate situation, I’ll count it amongst my blessings that things will probably be slow enough at headquarters for me to step out in order to fish him out of whatever tensions he’s stirred into a full blown incident; if this means I must take credit for resolving so many more conflicts, well, that can’t be helped. A commanding officer must look out for those beneath him.

Third Person: (270) Fireplaces used to be pleasant because they were necessary; in an age of modern heating, insulation, and construction, they had largely become decorative. A chimney let in more heat than a fireplace produced, and windows these days were well made enough that the coldest winds licking the glass only served to underscore the tranquility of modern living. Fireplaces were now necessary because they were pleasant.

Roy Mustang’s apartment did not have a fireplace. For one thing, it would be too… predictable. The Flame Alchemist could certainly make a fireplace more pleasant still by the instant lighting mechanism that was a mere poetic snap, but really, wouldn’t that be just too tacky? A date would be unable to help thinking of how many other dates he had performed the exact same parlor trick for, would presume, in this day and age, that such was the only reason the Flame Alchemist had a fireplace. For another thing, he lived in a one room apartment building on the third floor. It just wasn’t practical.

But this? This was neither pleasant nor practical. Make no mistake, a computer was a fantastically practical idea! He waited with baited breath for the day so many droll office functions could be passed along to a machine that would serve as a slave to his whims! But, so long as there were people out there in those other worlds wasting their time on such things as “fireplace.exe”, he could not help but entertain admittedly downright irrational skepticism to the claims on that ridiculous community that in some worlds, computers were making a real difference in people’s lives.

Character Notes: I used "http://megaman.wikia.com/wiki/Mega_Man_Wiki" for most of my info. Sorry if I messed up. I did use some non-canon stuff, be warned.

History: Zero was created by the late insane Dr.Wily sometime in the early-21st century. Learning from his past mistakes, including the accidental creation of Bassnium, and his construction of Bass and King, Wily constructed a new robot, far more advanced than anything he had ever built before with a power level far superior to that of Bass or Mega Man. Wily took the time to complete Zero, originally planning to use him against both Mega Man, and his insolent rebellious Bass. However, this never happened, and he was never utilized during the Wily Wars. Zero was routinely activated in a semi-conscious state during his construction, and Wily conversed with him, mirroring what Light himself did with X. Zero was aggressive and disobedient, and the first thing he did when he was finally activated was kill Dr.Wily. And the Robot Apocalypse took place.
Decades later, in the early 22nd century, Zero was awakened by a group of Reploids prior to the First Maverick Uprising.

Zero was saved by the Mother Elf from the fall of Ragnarok & survived.
Three years passed. Zero wandered. The war was over. He had fulfilled his obligations to Ceil & the Resistance. What was he supposed to do now? All his goals had been fulfilled. Weil & Copy X were dead and gone. The energy problems were over, solved by the Ceil System. He had regained his memories in the fall of Ragnarok. Humans & Reploids were at peace. He had no wish to become what X had been to these to people. It was better to let them think he had died a martyr. After all, his "death" had opened everyone's eyes, hadn't it? A "hero" showed up when things went hell & left when things were over. There was nothing left to fight for. The war was over. It was time to pick up the pieces.
So, Zero watched as the new world grew up around him. It looked like a much better era then the last one.

Personality: Zero shows a cold and emotionless face towards others, even to his partners X and Axl. This only worsened as time went on. If you didn't know him well & even then, most would call him emotionless & eerily like a Mechaloid. Even to his closest friends, Zero has a blank, cold facade. However, despite that, he has the capacity to care for others and to some extent in Iris' case, love. Zero keeps his cool under most circumstances, and no matter what his enemies ever do to him, he always seems able to have to be able to come up with a smart remark to it.
Zero will go to any lengths to protect the people he cares about. Once someone have earned his trust & respect, he will trust them & give them his respect. Because they earned it in his eyes. But caring about them? Zero has only truly cared & called "family", a small handful of people; X, Axl, Iris, Ceil and Aloutte. A grand total of five people.
Zero does not really think of himself as a hero. Even after he got his memories back. After all, didn't he start all of this mess with the Maverick Virus in the first place? So, he cleaned up after himself. Atonement for what he did. He's no hero. He's just a soldier who did what he had to do. If people wish to call him a "hero", so be it.
In spite of not viewing himself as a hero, Zero has often displayed a tendency to sacrifice himself for the sake of others. He also has a distaste for innocent deaths. This is evidenced in his fighting against Neo Arcadia's ruthless policy against Reploids in the Neo Arcadian Wars.
Even though Zero doesn't openly show it, he, too, longs for peace between humans and Reploids. However, as stated in his own words, Zero doesn't have any problems with fighting, unlike his pacifistic friend, X; whether his enemy is a Maverick or a human, he will fight at his best & give his worst. Another notable trait is that, despite his great power, Zero has shown to be humble: he has, at times, actually viewed X as the superior Maverick Hunter, and actually considers him a hero, which is impressive since Zero doesn't consider himself a hero.
Zero's personality can summoned up in one Crowning Moment of Awesome; "I never cared about justice... and I don't recall ever calling myself a hero. I have always only fought for the people I believe in... I won't hesitate... If an enemy appears in front of me, I will destroy it!"

Other: Nightmares. Almost every night. When he wakes up these, he might act oddly, from attacking the first thing he sees to ignoring everything around him.

Fandom: Inception
Character Notes:

[SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE INCEPTION]

History:
Little is said about Arthur’s background; we get to know him through the movie, but his personal life or past is never mentioned. The technology in Arthur’s world allows him and his team to infiltrate people’s dreams and steal information from their subconscious. There’s also the possibility of inserting an idea into someone’s mind, but it takes a lot of risk and is way more complicated. It’s called an ‘inception’.

When the movie starts, Arthur and his coworker Dom Cobb are trying to convince a man named Saito that they can help him to protect his subconscious. They offer him the opportunity to teach them how to resist mind incursions from possible interceptors. The truth is that they’re trying to steal classified information from Saito’s mind. His plan is revealed when Mal, a woman that knows the rules of the dream world and later is revealed to be Cobb’s dead wife, shows up and informs Saito about it. She shoots Arthur in the leg to prove that they can feel pain even while they’re dreaming, and also to convince Cobb to give up the mission. Dom’s reply is to shoot Arthur in the head, killing him, and thus waking him. The dream starts to collapse around Cobb and the others because Arthur was the dreamer that kept the world together.

They fail the mission but Saito makes them another offer: in exchange for implanting an idea into someone, Saito will solve Cobb’s problems with the law and he will be able to see his children again. Arthur agrees to help Cobb reluctantly, and they recruit new member for the team: Ariadne (the architect who construct the world inside the dream), Yusuf (the chemist), and Eames, (the forger). Their target is Robert Michael Fischer, the heir to a multi-billion dollar empire and Saito’s competition.

When Fischer’s father dies in Sydney, the team shares a flight with him back to America and start the plan. They need to invade Fischer’s mind and navigate through the dream levers Ariadne created:

- In the first one, Yusuf’s dream, they’re attacked by Robert’s subconscious (the projections), revealing that his mind was trained to prevent this sort of invasions.
-The second level, Arthur’s dream, happens in a hotel building. There they convince Fischer to access to the next level with them while Arthur stays in the second one, protecting the team.

-The third level, Eames’s dream, is located in a fortress. Mal shows up and kills Fischer, sending him to the fourth level, the Limbo. While they are in the third level, the team misses a second ‘kick’ (the force that awakens them from each dream), and Arthur needs to figure out how to cause a kick in the hotel that now has zero gravity.

Cobb and Ariadne travel to the fourth level, rescuing Fischer and finishing the mission. Sadly, Saito dies in the third level and Cobb stays in Limbo to help him to get back to reality. By the time they finally arrive to America, the mission is over, Saito and Cobb are back, the idea was implanted in Fischer and he figured out his feelings about his father.

Personality:

Arthur is Cobb’s friend, and that’s why he agrees with him and accepts Saito’s mission, even if he insists that it can’t be done and it takes too much risk. Where Cobb is the man with the big ideas, Arthur is the person that works to make them possible. He minimizes the risk; he researches all the important information, works on the details and makes sure nothing unexpected will happen and bite them in the ass. He’s aware of Mal’s presence in Cobb’s mind, and while he doesn’t know how much the shadow of his wife is affecting Cobb, he is still there risking his life so Cobb can get his kids back.

He is professional and organized, and most of all, he loves his job. While he wants things to be in order, the world he creates in his dreams are not always like that. His constructions are post-industrial modernist, with straight lines and sober decorations, but at the same time he likes to add impossible paradoxes like the Penrose stairs or macabre art.

Arthus’s personality is a perfect mix of the Architect and the Protector types from the Keirsey Temperament Sorter. His emotions aren’t easy to read, but he is not afraid of vocalize them when it’s needed. He often responds in a condescending tone (but never openly disrespectful) when he’s addressing someone he doesn’t like or who is getting on his nerves. This trait is more noticeable when Eames is around, but both seems to tone down their banter when it’s time for some serious work. At the same time, he doesn’t mind acting like a guinea pig for them (he is pushed around a lot while Yusuf tests the new sedative), or making sure no one gets hurt or is left behind.

He’s used to thinking and reacting quickly, and he prefers to know everyone’s roles and aids to avoid unexpected problems; however, he is not perfect and he misses information, too (such as Fischer’s mind being military trained to stop possible invasions).

Other:

His totem is a weighted red dice. He knows judo and self defense, he’s good with explosives and weapons (close range way more than farther range), and he can also kick ass even in zero-gravity.

Other: Atem is Egyptian born and bred, and as such I'll be pulling him from after the Ceremonial Duel (the end of the series). So this means he'll be replying and meeting all these people from a scrying pool (as per your suggestion) in the afterlife. I hope this is alright. He's very technology resistant, being a spirit for most of his time in the series, only seen operating a Duel Disk. So I thought this would be a good way to get him to be able to interact.

First Person (entry type): This is ... I'm torn. I knew returning to the afterlife would breed sadness from my friends and myself, but I'm very happy to see my family again. I've yet to figure out what I'm going to do. In such a place like this... I wonder if I could teach the others dueling. It's not something I could give up so easily. Teaching it to them all after so long.... Mm, that is what I will hold of my friends, my time in that life. While I'm waiting for their eventual time here, I'll teach my people here how to duel. That way when they do finally show up.. Well. We'll have a lot to discuss.

Third Person: The sun was high in the sky, blistering heat down upon the inhabitants of this ever expanding land. It really did seem to go on forever; desert spanning as far as the eye could see. And that was how he'd come to be lost. Lost in the afterlife. What a joke. But it wasn't really amusing at the time. It wasn't as if he could keel over and die here, what a silly thought. But as he raised a hand over his eyes to shadow them, he felt he really didn't know where he was. In Egypt it might have been easier- even in Domino City it would have been that much easier.

A sigh escaped him. "Out as far as this.. someone must have noticed..." Had they noticed the Pharaoh's disappearance? The question rolled around in his mind before he realized he really didn't want to be noticed. He could find his way back on his own, no help necessary. So, one foot after the other, he trudged through the sands, following a simple gut feeling. When he finally did return, questions were flung in all directions. But he merely shrugged them off with a simple smirk. No, he'd not been lost. How ridiculous.

"I was merely exploring."

Character: Minako Arisato
Fandom: Persona 3 Portable
Character Notes:
History:

* Normal childhood, but moved often thanks to parent’s jobs
* Her parents were killed in an accident when she was six
* The cause of the accident that took her parent’s lives was a fight between Aigis and Death
* Aigis, seeing no way to truly defeat Death, sealed Death in Minako’s body
* Went to live with relative after relative, which never seemed to last long
* Moved to Iwatodai at age 16 and enrolled in Gekkoukan

(I’ll be starting her from the beginning of the game canon, so that’s all the history she has until that point.)

Personality: Minako is everything her mirror image isn’t. She’s perky and chipper and every inch the go-getter that Minato never seemed to be. She makes friends easily and has the uncanny ability to put them at ease even in the worse circumstances. She’s openly confident in her own abilities as well as the abilities of others around her, even if they don’t seem to be as gung-ho about them, which is a skill important to a leader. She’s quick to defend her friends from harm, be it physical or emotional. People seem to flock to her, thanks to her natural charm and she works hard to keep her mind as sharp as the naginatas she fights with. As courageous as a lion, she never turns away from a fight, no matter how hopeless it seems.

On the flip side, she can be willful and stubborn, and prone to outbursts, whether they be positive or negative ones. She’s a little on the pushy side at times, interjecting what she feels needs to be said, even if it’s best to keep quiet for the moment. As a normal, healthy teenager, puberty is always an issue, and she has a very healthy interest in the opposite sex, and while it’s not distracting to the point of being a problem, it’s something that’s always in the back of her mind, especially keeping with recent events in her timeline. She’s also always concerned with everyone else’s feelings and happiness, almost to the point of not thinking on her own, and while that’s not really a problem, she has a bad habit of being a caring figure to everyone but herself.

Minako Arisato 2/2

[identity profile] sound0fdrums.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
First Person (entry type):

Less than a week to go before I move to my new dorm in Iwatodai. It seems pretty nice from what I’ve heard, and the pictures I’ve been able to find on the internet look pretty good, too. Maybe it won’t be such a big change. I mean, new school and all, but that’s not really a bad thing. Change can be good for a person. It keeps things new and exciting, right?

I’ll admit, I guess I’m a little nervous about moving in, though. What if the people there don’t really like me? What if the classes are a lot harder at Gekkoukan? I’m a good student and all, but will that be good enough? Should I get a job for some extra money? And what about clubs? Will I have time for club activities?

... and there I go again. I’ll never get to sleep if I keep rambling, and I need to be up early tomorrow. I still need to work on packing!

Third Person:

Time. It was always such a variable thing, as Minako had learned. Each second seemed to bring a change to her life, even if it was one so small that it wasn’t very noticeable. Others had taken such a centerpoint that even if the other changes were bigger, she’d still be focused on what had happened so recently.

Seeing Shinjiro on the ground, blood pooled under him/learning the truth about her past and Ryoji/seeing her friends suffer so much ....

Fear was something she rarely admitted to, but now, she was afraid. Still, true to her nature, she wouldn’t let on that the thought of possibly having to kill someone that had become so close to her made her stomach clench in more than a little fear. Ryoji had given them time to decide their fate, even if death was really the only outcome he’d offered. He’d begged her to end him as his early ‘death’ would bring a loss of painful memories as well as at least a temporary peace until the end of it all.

The end...

“Have you made your decision?”

Mitsuru’s voice pulled her out of her thoughts. She hadn’t realized she’d been spacing out again. Smiling faintly, she nodded. She knew he was there and he was waiting for her decision.

In the end, she let him live. Some called it a show of her strength, but honestly, she wasn’t sure if it was strength of will, or weakness of heart that allowed her to let him live.
