Character: Vegeta Fandom: DragonBall Z Character Notes:
History: Prince Vegeta is a Saiyan. The son of King Vegeta, ruler of the Saiyan's homeplanet of the same name (Vegeta). Since infancy, Vegeta had more power inside him than any of the other Saiyans, including his own father. At a young age, his father trained him to use this power and taught him how to be ruthless and decisive. However, King Vegeta soon had to give his son over to Freeza, leader of the Planet Brokers empire, who had also sensed Vegeta's potential and didn't want it to be used against him. Soonafter, Freeza killed King Vegeta and blew up the Saiyan planet. Vegeta was one of four Saiyans left alive. Freeza raised Vegeta to be a warrior for him for the remainder of his childhood.
Over the years, Vegeta came to resent Freeza. Harboring suspisions that Freeza destroyed the Saiyan race, he hoped to become stronger so that he could kill and overthrow Freeza. So when he heard about the dragon balls on Earth, he seized his chance to seek them out so that he could wish for eternal life and unlimited power. He and his Saiyan partner Nappa went to Earth and killed most of it's defending fighters in order to find the dragon balls. But then the surviving Saiyan Kakarrot, who was raised on Earth as "Son Goku", arrived on the battlefield and easily desposed of Nappa. Vegeta then fought Goku himself and though he overpowered him at first, Goku was able to beat him with help from his friends Krillin and Yajorobe, and his son Gohan. But wanting another chance to fight him and beat him fairly, Goku let Vegeta escape in his spacepod. Vegeta has promised that he will get stronger and he will have revenge....
Personality: Being the prince of Saiyans and one of the strongest fighters in the universe, Vegeta is very proud and egocentric. He prides himself in being an elite warrior and hates being overpowered by anyone. Thus why he's resentful towards "Kakarrot" and his Earthling friends for defeating him. Vegeta has a very evil heart; he was raised to be merciless and cruel and he revels in killing and destruction. He knows when to be cunning and level-headed, but when angered his rage will not stop. As a saiyan, he always gets stronger after every battle and hungers for more power. Other: Additional Links: None
First Person (entry type):
Ggghhh....Kakarrot and his worthless Earthling allies think they've beaten me. But they have not; they'll soon see that they've only awakened more power and rage inside me! Raditz and Nappa fell because they were weak. I am not. I've lived through all that I've been put through and shall emerge as the greatest warrior in the entire universe!
But to make sure of that, I'll need to become immmortal. For that I shall collect all seven dragon balls on Planet Namek. I'm sure the fools on one of Freeza's planets will help me recover...and they'll die regretting it once I've unleashed my greater power. Then I'll head to Namek, get the dragon balls, and gain eternal life! I shall become indestructable and make Freeza, Kakarrot, and the whole galaxy kneel before me!
Third Person:
Vegeta had finished his training on one of the many planets owned by Freeza. The training had been intense, but Vegeta had barely sweated one drop by the time it was over. The young Saiyan prince exited the training room. And waiting for him outside the training room was Cui, one of his chief rivals in Freeza's forces.
"You were in there for far too long, Vegeta." the fish faced alien said "I'd expect you to be quite worn out." "Using my power? Wear me out?" Vegeta scoffed "Cui, your expectations are far too high."
Cui gave a frusterated growl. "You think you're unharmable, don't you, Vegeta?" he snapped "Well I'm gonna let you know that my power level is still higher than yours and it's only going to get higher once I'm done with my training."
Vegeta faced Cui directly and gave a defiant glare "Your power is only stronger because Freeza lets you train under special conditions! But I, as a Saiyan, was born with the capacity for power far greater than yours and I have to train vigurously by myself and do some actual work in order to improve! So you just continue to take it easy, Cui. It only makes you more inferior!" With this, Vegeta turned his back on Cui and walked away.
"The fools working for Freeza" Vegeta thought to himself as he headed for the launchpad. "They think their strength can equal or surpass that of a Saiyans'." He knew that Freeza's power far surpassed his own and there were some who worked under Freeza who had more power and experience than he. But to him, none of it mattered. Ever since he was born, Vegeta could feel an energy within him that pulsed like a heartbeat and kept getting stronger after each time he fought. That, Vegeta felt, was more than his power; it was his destiny. He would ascend to a level that no other Saiyan could; a Super Saiyan. And he would be in complete control of the great power and would use it to destroy Freeza and his entire empire. Then he would take over and become known as the supreme master of the universe. A psychotic grin spread across Vegeta's face just thinking about it.
But until then, he'd have to keep following Freeza's orders. So he climbed inside his spacepod and flew off into space. It's coordinates were set for the next planet that he would conquer...
There are many things in this universe that I hate. One of them is having conflicted feelings on anything! But conflicted is how I feel about having Nappa as my partner. On one hand, his destructive nature and immense power allows me to not use much of my own energy so that I may save it for when it's awesome power is truly needed. On the other hand, impatience and wrecklessness could be crippling to our job performance. Far too many times I've seen Nappa rush into something without thinking even the slightest bit ahead!
But he does do alot of kissing up to me. He knows that I am a Saiyan Elite and it's obvious that he fears my superior strength, as he should. All I have to do is keep him in line and he will obey any order I give him; he'll be my complete tool! Feh! Under my orders, I hope he won't show any stupidity or weakness. I'd HATE having to babysit one of my own kind.
We're sorry, but this application has been rejected. We feel you do not show an accurate grasp of character voice, and would recommend reviewing canon and paying particular attention to how he speaks. Please feel free to reapply!
But I HAVE paid attention to canon, to him and how he speaks. It's one of my favorite anime/manga and he's my favorite character! It's just pretty hard to write down on the internet sometimes, I guess.
And keep in mind that his characterization changed with each saga. I was basing this off of the earliest Vegeta, who was a little more calm and less perpetually grouchy and prone to anger than the later Vegeta. Is there any way for you to reconsider or for me to retype my first and third person entries?
Unfortunately, writing it down on the internet is the most important part for an internet-based roleplay.
I'm aware of where you're taking him from, but we simply don't feel that the voice is accurate. In addition, although we recognize that characters change over the duration of a series, we would recommend adding that description into the personality section you provided, rather than bringing it in at the end.
You may reapply for Vegeta, the same way anyone who is rejected the first time may app a second time. And lastly, a word of warning-- it's really very rude to use a clearly angry icon at a moderator when asking for special treatment.
