Gaz - Invader Zim 2/3

[identity profile] gazlenemembrane.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Character: Gaz
Fandom: Invader Zim
Character Notes:
History: Not much was known about her except that Gaz is the daughter of Prof. Membrane. She is also has a brother named Dib. Some people have assumed that she was a clone of Prof. Membrane's wife, but this is rumor. Gaz was often seen playing video games with very little dialogue. Her video game skills turned out to be very useful in a few episodes. She controlled a nanobot to stop Zim (though she isn't aware of that since she thought it was an online game), piloting one of the Irken escape pods, and fixing Tak's ship to rescue her brother. Despite serving as a supporting character in most of the episodes, there were times where it was about her. The first being was when she was getting the Game Slave 2 in "Game Slave 2" and when she goes out to rescue her brother so she can eat out at family night with her dad in "Bloaty's Pizza Hog".
Personality: Gaz is known to be Dib's scary sister with a foul temper. She loves to play video games, eating pizza, drinking soda, and beating up Dib. When she is not playing her games, she is seen reading a book or drawing. She is clearly the smartest main character in the series, but is still crazy. She stalked Iggins for stealing her Game Slave 2 until he gave it back to her. Gaz doesn't shown much interest in humanity like Dib. She is also aware that Zim is an alien, but doesn't see him as a threat.

Re: Akira Inugami | Wolfen Crest

[identity profile] scienceisscary.livejournal.com 2010-09-04 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History:
Akira's past isn't fully fleshed out yet, to maintain some mystery in the story. There are several important bits expanded on in the exposition, though.

Akira is a rather special case, being born from a human father and a werewolf mother. Nothing is know of his father, except that he was an intellectual, affluent man and had a good job as a professor at a local college. He was a kind, well-meaning man. He continually moved his family from place to place, however, as if they were being chased by something. Akira was never able to put down roots anywhere for too long. Still, as long as he had his mother, everything was fine.

One day they moved to the wilderness of Alaska, far from civilization. It was a sanctuary where wild timber wolves often hunted and walked about the landscape. Akira was five at the time. His memories of his mother, beautiful and serene, are etched deeply into his memory. He enjoyed his days with her, and often went to play with the nearby wolves, who eagerly accepted him as one of their own.

Soon after, however, his life was torn apart. Men in military uniforms destroyed his home with fire, killing his father and taking his mother. The uniformed strangers left the young boy riddled with bullets and bleeding on the snow, saying that a "half-breed" was useless to them. Akira revived on his own after they left, and was forced to live with the wolves until he was found by his father's family. They then took on responsibility for him and moved him back to Japan. Since that point he had moved from school to school, always having to move on due to starting fights and inciting bullies to violence against him.

At his current school, this behavior had a price. He angered Haguro Dou, Yakuza's son and psychopath, who has since made his life hell. He's tricked a subordinate into opening fire on the school, fired a grenade into it, tortured Akira's nearest friend, and generally done everything he could to beat Akira down. Even revealing his true self wasn't enough to make Haguro relent, it only drove him mad and made him even more intent on killing Akira off.

He was forced to recently revive his tortured friend with his own blood, unknowingly creating a semi-werewolf that is now intent on killing Haguro and anything that gets in his path. Major collateral damage has already ensued.

The Doctor | Doctor Who | 2 of As Few As Possible But This Is Really Long

[identity profile] amadmanwithbox.livejournal.com 2010-09-04 11:02 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History: In the 927 years of his life, the Doctor has racked up a whole lot of history, and then lost it, rewritten it, left it in the back of a drawer for three years, and generally not taken very good care of it. Needless to say, when this one dies, he will not be getting another one. Due to the general nature in which he disregards the laws of temporal causality, paradox runs rampant throughout his past (and his future). You have been warned.

The Doctor is one of the Time Lords, an ancient race of nigh-immortal aliens from the planet Gallifrey, who happen to look very human indeed, by virtue of it being a really big universe and it was bound to happen sooner or later. At the age of eight, all Time Lords look into the Time Vortex. Some are inspired, some run away and some go mad. The Doctor ran. Through a series of events he got his hands on a Type IV TARDIS and ran away from Gallifrey completely, returning only briefly to mop up whatever trouble was being caused.

In the course of his travels, he has picked up many and various human companions to, well, mostly keep him company, but they also help save the world sometimes. Sometimes. Mostly they get in trouble and the Doctor has to save them, but he doesn't mind it so much. He likes humans, though they can be exasperating, otherwise he wouldn't save them from destruction so often. Whether he loves them, however, is a matter of some debate. They certainly seem to love him, but only recently has he started overtly exploring the more romantic side of the companion relationship, and that was only after the event that would redefine everything: the Time War.

Nothing like the Time War has ever been seen before or since. Or at all, according to most of the universe. The two most powerful races in the galaxy clashed, and the effects resonated throughout the rest of the universe. On one side, the Time Lords: twisted by their own ambition and arrogance, self-appointed administrators of existance, but ultimately well-meaning, and certainly not evil. Well, mostly, anyway. On the other, the Daleks: twisted by their own malice and paranoia, self-appointed master race, genocidal and irredeemable. The war ravaged time, relative dimension and even space; entire worlds were destroyed in the collateral. Eventually, one of the Time Lords found a solution, but it required great sacrifice. The Daleks were destroyed, but so were the Time Lords, leaving only one, the Doctor, to carry the memory of both great races, and the burden of their destruction.

Of course, ultimately both species survived, but the Time Lords are locked out of Time, and the Doctor is doing his damnedest to stop the Daleks, new and multicoloured though they be. Which brings us neatly around to the subject of his many adventures. They are too numerous to describe in much detail here (and have in fact been chronicled in many volumes), but an outline of those with his most recent face should suffice.

Character: Roderich Edelstein [Austria]
Fandom: Axis Powers Hetalia
Character Notes:
History: So in 976, Otto II took over some land and called it marcha orientalis. Later it became known as Austria. He gave it to the Babenburg family to rule. Austria became a duchy in 1156. Theeeen the Babenburgs got killed and a bunch of people fought over Austria, with a Habsburg ending the winner.

The Habsburgs expanded territory, and - look, I know this is boring, I'll try to summarize as best as I can. Austria lived in the Holy Roman Empire's house with Italy and Hungary. It did a lot of pro-Catholic warfare, and ended up weaker because of all the work it went through.

When Maria Theresa came to the throne (actual comic canon-things-they-talked-about alert!) Prussia invaded Silesia. Insert War of Austrian Succession, where England was a dick and didn't want to actually help that much. More wars.

Austria is a loser re: the battlefield sometimes. (See 1787, Ottoman Empire.)

Blah blah blah, war with France... Police state 1815-1848, revolution, resignations of people in charge. 1867: war with Prussia again made Austria weak enough that Franz Joseph had to concede something to Hungarian nationalists. So instead of Hungary being just a part of the Austrian empire, the two parts would be separate, differently treated areas.

In comic canon, Austria-Hungary is Austria and Hungary getting married.

Same year, Austria got a constitution. Lots of industry, industry, industry - oh hey, Franz Ferdinand just got assassinated. World War One, woops!

I assume you know that Austria-Hungary lost WWI and got broken up. Austria wanted to become part of Germany because it was tiny, but France and Italy told it to STFU. It did get off easy in other areas, though: too poor to pay reparations.

Christian Social Party was basically in charge, and they tended towards fascism. There was a civil war in Austria which wiped out the socialist party almost completely. Then Austria got rid of freedom of the press and made a one party system. Then a bunch of people who were ticking pro-Hitlerites off got assassinated, and Germany occupied Austria.

Austria didn't really mind. According to comic canon, he was pretty irritating to live with.

Lost that war too. Split into sections for the Allies to administer, but a lot of the old, non-Nazi politicians were coming back and the Allies treated it well. In 1955 they proclaimed everlasting neutrality in their constitution.

Blah blah blah, European Union, blah blah blah, modern day.

Personality: Austria is well-spoken, well-mannered, intellectual, sensible, musically-gifted, penny-pinching, and nagging. He's more interested in his piano-playing than his work, yet he wants his work done perfectly, and he can be strict with those under him... But he has an understanding side even for his servants. He likes getting other people to do things for him, and doesn't seem to mind playing on their weaknesses in order to do so. ...yet he's willing to take up other people's work when they need rest. Austria's complicated.

...He also seems pretty modest. "Italy is hugging me omg /blush" And the "please stop looking at me I'm half-dressed" to his former (future? current?) wife... And the "stop talking about the person who sleeps with you naked".

Other: He looks good in dresses. Hungary said so.

First Person (entry type): Germany Ludwig suggested that I have a blog. To be honest, I don't see the point. The most exciting event of today was when I was trying to visit the museum in Salzburg with the pickle and cucumber exhibit, but ended up somewhere in Styria.

The other interesting events of my life are already being reported by the newspapers and bloggers of Austria. They do an excellent job of relaying the information accurately, and one more blog would be lost in the crowd, even with my own commentary.

But, I should be doing something somewhat productive between my work and my music practice. My name is Roderich Edelstein.

Third Person: Where exactly had Austria put down his glasses?

Thankfully, his eyesight wasn't impaired by losing them, which would have made finding them again more challenging. But Austria could have sworn that he checked all the places he usually put them, with no success.

He had promised to play piano for Hungary later that afternoon. What if she saw him like this? He would lose all of his regal bearing and become just an ordinary-looking man.

Then again, shouldn't her focus be on the music, rather than him? He wanted to impress her. He always had, even now that they were separated.

Austria shook himself out of his thoughts. He had glasses to find. He'd searched his nightstand, all the drawers of his dresser, and the bathroom. There wouldn't be a reason to take his glasses off except in those two rooms.

...Well, it could have fallen under the bed, but... Did he really have to crawl and root around for it?

Apparently, yes. He sighed, and began to search for it, lying on the floor. He dusted it off on his jacket when he found it, then put it back on. The things he did for appearances....

Fandom: Gundam Wing

Part 2/I'll just say when I'm done.

[identity profile] thricedeadwind.livejournal.com 2010-09-09 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History:

Born into a royal family who upheld a political and personal tradition of strict pacifism, Millardo Peacecraft would have been a prince and possible heir to the throne of a small European kingdom called Sanq. However, when he was just six years of age, his country was invaded and subjugated by the international government, the United Earth Sphere Alliance. The entire royal family was killed, saved for Millardo and his younger sister. They escaped due to aid from friends of the royal family; the Alliance believed them to be dead. Milliardo possesses few distinct memories of his childhood. However, his memories of the massacre of his family are clear enough for him to become bitter and vengeful.

At some point soon afterwards, Millardo had been taken in by aristocrats associated with the Romefeller Foundation, and befriended a charismatic and influential young man named Trieze Kushrenada. It was Trieze who persuaded Millardo to study and train to join the Specials, an elite and quasi-independent unit of young mobile suit pilots within the Alliance. Treize likely used his charisma, his forceful personality, and appealed to Milliardo's sense of justice - convincing the former pacifist to become a murderer in order to later seek vengeance and gain the independence of Sanq. When Millardo did join, he hid all traces of his true identity, wearing heavy shades - and later a mask - to conceal his face, and called himself Zechs Marquise.

Zechs had an impressive early military career. In the Specials Academy, he graduated at the top of his class - even if this was due to the under-achievement of his friend, Lucrezia Noin. At the age of sixteen, he had gained the nickname of "Lightning Baron" due to his speed in battle. During the maneuver where he earned that nickname, he said, "... this battle will end the moment I land."
By the time he was nineteen, Zechs had achieved the rank of Lieutennant, and was seen as a shadow - or pawn - of the Colonel Treize. Still, he was able to maneuver within the Alliance to gather information to overthrow the very government he worked for - and intelligence on the Gundams, piloted by what seemed to be terrorists from the orbiting Colonies.

These actions were not without internal conflict within Zechs' mind. Even while he disagreed with many of Romefeller's policies and tactics, he was complicit in the murder of several pacifist-leaning generals in the Alliance - all to overthrow the government and put OZ in its place. In doing so, he got his revenge on the commander who led the attack of his family, freeing Sanq. Yet he wondered at the cost. And he became more and more intrigued by the terrorists piloting the Gundams - even obsessed with them.

He had known that replacing the Alliance with OZ wouldn't change much about the world. Zechs had trusted his closest friend, Treize, in leading soldiers properly and ethically - but said friend had became more of a commanding officer, whom he has severe grievances with, than a confidant. Zechs thought the terrorists had pure intentions, and a strong will to find peace and security. He strived to emulate both those boys, and become the image of a "perfect" soldier - an ideal which was built by the Specials training, and therefore Treize himself.

Zechs first became obsessed with the Tallgese, the only weapon known which could compete with the Gundams, but a machine which would almost kill him. After a few battles with the Gundam terrorists, he became obsessed with them in turn. He even went so far as to build one of their destroyed mobile suits, just to fight its pilot again. This act of treason marked perhaps the beginning of Zechs' conflict between himself and his friend, Treize. Only his last confident, and close female companion, Lieutennant Noin, remained loyal to him thereafter.

Character: Sanji
Fandom: One Piece
Character Notes:

History:
Sanji was born in North Blue and later joined a ship known as the Orbit as an apprentice cook boy. The ship was attacked by the Chef Pirates who followed the greatly know 'Red Leg' Zeff. Attempting to protect the ship, Sanji tried to fight back with two kitchen knives, but was easily thwarted with a powerful kick. A storm was also bombarding the ship with intense waves which swept at the decks and dragged Sanji below the raging sea. Zeff dove down belong to save him, there are two differences here from the manga and anime. In the anime it was while Zeff was saving Sanji from drowning that he lost his right leg, but the canon that will be used shall be the one from the manga.

After Zeff manages to rescue the young Sanji, they end up on a deserted island with what appears to be a giant sack of food. Zeff basically tosses him a measly small sack of food and tells him to wait on the other side of the island, and to not show his face to him until one of them sees help. Sanji is outraged at how he was given such small portions but eventually has no choice but to wait on the other side. It's never really stated the exact amount of time they were stranded. Though it is shown that Sanji scratched against rock to mark the passing of time which could have been anywhere from a couple of weeks to months, possibly.

Soon, on his last piece of molded bread, the show of starvation was clear with the appearance of a hollowed out face, and being able to see bones through skin. The last morsel fell from his fingers into the sea, and hunger was causing him to consider things he'd never would. With one kitchen knife still in hand he made his way back towards Zeff, intent on getting the giant sack of 'food' with whatever means necessary. Yet, it was as he slashed into the sack, that horror dawned on his face. There was never food in the giant sack Zeff had, but gold instead that he'd stolen. Of course that meant the small food he was given what was all either of them had, but Zeff had given it all to Sanji. This is were the manga and anime differentiate once more. In the manga the way Zeff survived during that long time was by eating his own right leg (I'll be going with this canon past for Sanji.)

Re: Sanji | One Piece 2/?

[identity profile] lawayfromherel.livejournal.com 2010-09-09 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Close to starving to death, Sanji realized he owed his life to the man who had not only rescued him from drowning but also kept him fed. There they both realized they shared the same dream of finding the Legendary Ocean 'All Blue'. Now though, with Zeff's leg keeping him from being a pirate he shares how he'd always wanted to have a restaurant out at sea, which causes Sanji to vow that he'd help him have that restaurant one day. Finally as Zeff was growing wearier a ship could be seen in the distance, which Sanji cried out for in tears and finally they were rescued.

About 9-10 years later we meet Sanji much later in the series on the Baratie, the floating restaurant. This is where Luffy and crew first meet him. At first Luffy tried to obtain Zeff as their chef, only to be declined, afterword when meeting Sanji and finding out he's also a cook he tries to persuade him to join. Sanji also declines the offer, saying he was needed at the Baratie. An chance meeting with a starving pirate named Gin, changes everything when later it's found out he was the commander of known pirate Don Krieg, whom the commander later brings to the restaurant in order to obtain food for all their starving crew-mates. Sanji is of course blamed and yelled at by the other chefs for bringing pirates such as Don Krieg to their establishment. Sanji though, refused to let anyone starve, after his hardships he'd never let another go through what him and Zeff had.

Though food was given to Don Krieg, it was quick to see he was just as vile as first perceived as he proceeded to take over the restaurant. Through the help of Luffy they were able to defeat Don Krieg. Afterward Zeff and the other chefs tell Sanji how he should leave the Baratie. They do so in a somewhat cruel manner that causes Sanji to run outside, slumping down for a smoke only to cry. It's as he's out there that he overhears that they were merely doing it to push Sanji into doing what he should be doing for himself and so that he could finally obtain his dream of finding 'All Blue' than there on the Baratie wasting away. Hearing this, Sanji comes back in cool and composed and tells Luffy he'll go with him. This marked the day that Sanji became one of the Straw Hat Pirates and started his journey towards the Grand Line and All Blue.

Character: Fuu Hououji
Fandom: Magic Knight Rayearth
Character Notes:
History: The second-born daughter of the Hououji family, Fuu was bred for the high life. She lived her life in a mansion in Tokyo, mostly taken care of by her older sister, Kuu. Attending a private all-girls’ high school for the academically inclined, Fuu found herself on a field trip to Tokyo Tower. What was going to be a normal day out turned into the strangest day of Fuu’s life. Summoned to a world called Cephiro, Fuu and two other girls, Hikaru Shidou and Umi Ryuuzaki are instructed to become Magic Knights, revive the Mashin, and save the Princess Emeraude—the literal pillar of the world—from the High Priest Zagato.

So she and her new BFFs go off to save this world. And along the way they meet some friends, Fuu gains a huge crush on a wandering swordsman that turns out to later be the prince of Cephiro, they awaken the Mashin and go to save Emeraude.

Only to learn that what they were really summoned for was killing the princess—and setting her free from the bonds of being the pillar forever. The girls are then returned to Tokyo, devastated and crying before their classmates that “It’s not fair.”

Some amount of time later, after all the girls have sunken into an “oh my god I killed an innocent person” depression, they return to Tokyo Tower… and are summoned to Cephiro again! This time, to help repair the world that’s crumbling without a pillar! Hikaru becomes the pillar, she gives the power over to all the people who love Cephiro… and then the series ends with a cheesy fourth-wall break.

This series is so easy to explain it hurts.

Character: Rei Hino – Sailor Mars

Fandom: Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon - Anime

Character Notes:

History: Rei’s early history is not entirely exact. What is clear is that her mother died when she was younger and her father, a famous politician, caring more about his job than his daughter, dumped her with her grandfather at Hikawa Shrine. She grew up there, and gained a rapport with two crows at the temple, whose names are Phobos and Deimos. As she grew older, she became the miko or shrine maiden and began taking an active part in the care of the shrine. Her life, or so it seemed, was fairly normal.

In reality, however, Rei is the reincarnation of the princess of Mars, one of the Inner Senshi and a guardian of the Moon Princess, Usagi. Her identity as one of the Inner Senshi (but not as the Princess of Mars) was revealed to her by Usagi and Luna during an attack on a bus by one of the youma employed by the Dark Kingdom. She embraced her new role and goes to her new duties with gusto. Eventually, she is killed in the arctic by minions of Queen Beryl, sacrificing herself for Usagi along with the others, but is revived by the Silver Crystal and Usagi’s wish. She has no memory of her life as one of the Sailor Senshi until Earth is attacked by the aliens Eiru and An and the Senshi are called upon to defend the Earth and Princess Serenity again. After their defeat it seemed things might quiet down bit, but now a mysterious pink-haired girl by the same name as Usagi has arrived, searching for the Silver Crystal. And she's being pursued by an even more mysterious organization, the Dark Moon. Things are never simple for one of the Sailor Senshi, it seems.

Personality: Rei is, as one might expect for an avatar of Mars, a bit of a hothead. She has a quick temper and will unleash an acerbic tongue on anyone unfortunate enough to draw her ire. She is also stubborn, refusing to back down without a fight, and often gets into arguments with Usagi, her nominal leader.

When Usagi, Ami and Luna first approach Rei at the shrine regarding some mysterious disappearances, she is extremely reluctant to deal with them. She has been fairly isolated from people since she was a child, other than her grandfather, and tends to be a bit suspicious and untrusting at first glance. She tends to try and rely more on herself than anyone else, especially in the early part of the series. However, like all the other Senshi, she is extremely loyal, to Princess Serentiy/Usagi, perhaps even more so than the others due to the close relationship she has with her. Rei would (and does) die for Usagi without a thought. In the anime, she is also a bit more of a typical teenager in some ways, having a grasp on and interest in pop culture and music, as well as having dreams of becoming a pop star herself.

Other: With the powers granted to her as an Inner Senshi, Rei is able to transform into Sailor Mars, giving her greater physical abilities, as well as the power to shoot a fireball from her fingers when she shouts the words ‘Fire Soul.’ Further, in her ‘civilian’ form she has a few minor psychic abilities and is able to sense evil spirits as well as perform minor divination. She is also capable of performing exorcisms and binding evil spirits, part of her abilities as a miko.

Are you at least 15?: Yes

Current Characters: Japan (Honda Kiku)

To the app -

Character: Madotsuki
Fandom: Yume Nikki (Dream Diary) – Japanese RPG-Maker game

Character Notes:

History: In truth, Madotsuki’s ‘history’ means nothing to the game. She is a hikikomori. There is no need for the game to go into detail because the players (before the English translation was available) were surely well-versed enough in Japanese culture to know the basic profile of a hikikomori.
Hikikomori is a Japanese term describing a shut-in who refuses to leave his/her room (or house) and refuses social contact. Because of this there are a few things that can be immediately known about Madotsuki. Firstly, she is from a middle-class to wealthy family (hikikomori-ism does not appear in the lower classes due to the need of others to support them, considering that they do not work). Secondly, her withdrawal from society was a slow process starting with depression/social anxiety in high school and culminating in her shutting herself up in her room.

*WARNING FOR GAME SPOILERS IN PERSONALITY SECTION*
Personality: Firstly, Madotsuki is depressed. This is seen in her constant sleeping, vivid/disturbing dreams… not to mention the end of the game, where she commits suicide by jumping off of her balcony. All of these point to depression.

She is naturally very creative, as evidenced by the variety and detail of her dream-worlds. Some part of her does want to interact with people – her dreams are full of human-shaped figures (however, when she tries to interact with them, they cannot talk and only make noise…).

While in her dreams, she is inquisitive and curious. She wanders around as she feels like it, finds new areas, and experiments with effects. Unlike when she is awake, she is not afraid. However, because she is aware of the fact that she is dreaming, she does not treat the figures in her dreams as though they were real people – usually, she’ll try her effects on them to see if anything happens. And/or knife them. She’s not a crazy knife murder– it’s just one more thing she can do in her dreams.

One thing that she is afraid of in dreams is sex and the reproductive system. Most of the disturbing imagery that appears in her dreams are distorted (and sometimes bleeding, or covered in eyeballs) reproductive organs, specifically the female uterus. She hasn’t come to terms with her body’s development and expresses this by dreaming about such things in a nightmarish context – (The large phallic-shaped creature dubbed kyukyu-kun by fans is immediately followed by her waking up from panic, rather than of her own choice; the “weeping alien” which is also quite obviously phallic produces showers of blood when stabbed, unlike most other creatures; the girl dubbed Monoko grows extra limbs and a melting eyeball when she is ‘changed’ by an effect…) Fear of puberty and sex is rather common among hikikomori, so this is quite to be expected in a character like her.

Other: Considering the nature of Yume Nikki, I won’t find any fault with the decision if the mods decide not to accept her due to lack of solid canon. I just thought that it was worth a try at least. More specifically, I have a very clear goal in mind for Madotsuki and I feel that DDD would be the best RP comm for her to accomplish it in. I would like for her to be able to communicate with the comm only while she is in her dream-world. She will be open with the community in ways that she is unable to be in her “real” waking life. I would like her to make friends, to learn something about herself, and ultimately as I take her through her canon (collecting all of the effect-eggs in her dreamworld) I would like her to get to a place where she can decide not to kill herself.

Oh yeah, also. She’s ambidextrous.

First Person (entry type):

H E L L O.

there has never been a computer in the dream before. i know, because i’ve been keeping a dream journal for a while now.

it’s like that, though. sometimes i go to the spaceship and sometimes i don’t. And sometimes it crashes and sometimes it doesn’t.

so now there is a computer, with a website. this website. maybe if i write something here, there will be a response. from my subconscious, i mean. because that’s where i am. and that’s where all of you are, too. to me, anyway. and then i’ll wake myself up and see if the computer is still here when i fall back asleep.

I A M M A D O T S U K I.

maybe you have a name. or not. or maybe you will next time.

Third Person: 150+ words

Madotsuki walked across the field, shivering as her boots squeaked over the snow.

(She was dreaming under the warm covers of her bed. She wasn’t cold at all, not really. It was always interesting, the way her brain allowed the little details to make sense even if the entirety – a field of snow, a bed sitting unmade in the middle of it, the little snow-creature wandering across Madotsuki’s path without noticing her – did not.)

It was slow going; she decided to get on her bicycle and save herself some time. The snow whipped across her face as she pedaled along, braids streaming out behind her head.

(The bike came from nowhere – she just decided and there it was, ready for her to ride.)

She rang the bell just to hear the echo. What a solitary place this was, compared to some of the other dreams where neon creatures crowded her out of rooms or shadow men bumped into her on the streets of an endless city of gray.

She saw a door in the middle of the snow and realized that she had wandered across the field for so long that she ended up at the beginning. That tended to happen if she wasn’t paying attention to where she was headed. Without a direction in mind she would inevitably have to start the entire trip over – or maybe the door was the destination this time? She couldn’t remember.

She opened the door, rode through, and let it close behind her.

(There was always a chance of finding something new on the other side.)

Current Characters: N/A

Character: Wichita / Krista. (I'm not sure if the current Little Rock player gave them a surname yet, but I'll just take whatever she's been using.)
Fandom: Zombieland.
Character Notes:
History:
(Family history is tricky, since her sister is already in game, but I'll try to cover as much as I can without being too specific? Pleaseplease let me know if you want to see more/anything different)

- There are two very important things one needs to know about Krista: First, that the Earth she knows is quickly being destroyed by an elevated strain of Mad Cow disease. Somebody bit into the wrong hamburger, and now there's a virus being passed on through the human race that literally turns them into flesh-hungry, angry zombies. There's no cure, and there's really no avoiding it either. Zombies are everywhere, and it's going to take some time before she accepts the fact that there are lots of people in other worlds that aren't going through the same thing.

Second, the only thing she cares about in this zombie-ridden world is her sister. She will do anything and everything to protect her sister, even if that means leaving you to be killed by the zombies so they can get away. Krista's never killed anyone that wasn't trying to rip her limb from limb, but she doesn't cut slack for anyone either. Even before the virus she put her sister before everyone, even herself (which probably counts more towards a personality thing, but, that's okay.) so there's really nothing that can change that.

- The virus has killed off all of her friends and family without exception, as far as she knows, and it's changed Krista a lot. She won't really talk about what (and who) she's lost, but it'll be obvious to anyone that gets to know her that she's buried a lot of anger/sadness in order to keep herself focused on surviving.

- Only recently has she opened up to someone that isn't her sister, Columbus, but she does still keep a sort of barrier in the back of her mind that will keep her from fully trusting anyone. Columbus and Tallahassee are slowly starting to become a part of her 'family', and she's more protective of them than she realizes. The four of them travel together now, fighting off zombies and just trying to get by.

-Before the virus struck, she and her sister used to run cons against... well, any sucker that would fall for their schemes. It was never said in canon why they were doing it, but it seemed like they would just con guys out of their money so they could roadtrip around the country.

Wichita | ZOMBIELAND 1/4

[personal profile] cons 2010-09-11 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Wichita, more often than not, tries to seem pretty closed-off and serious. And she is, when she has to be. She's learned how to keep herself detached from a lot of her feelings, since most of the time they can only be used against her. The zombie virus hasn't turned her into a cold hard killer or anything, but there's little in the world that can really get under her skin or make her question any decisions she's made. She doesn't let things slip, and if it seems like she did, it was most likely intentional. The world she lives in has forced her to become a manipulator, a con-artist, and she's not ashamed of it either. If not just because most of the time, once she cons someone, she'll never see them again. There's no room for second guessing when your life is on the line. She believes there's also little room for making friends, let alone actually trusting anybody they cross paths with either. Her trust issues are deep rooted now, and most of the time even if it seems like she's warmed up to someone, she probably hasn't.

Survival is her main focus in Zombieland (which is what she and many others have come to call Earth), and her sister's survival comes before all else. Sure it's been said at least three times already, but most if not all of her decisions are made with her sister in mind. Krista would risk everything to keep her sister safe, and happy, and she's done it before. She tries not to be too over-bearing on Little Rock, but to an outsider she really might come off that way. The sisters have become best friends through all of this, so (at least, in Wichita's eyes) the control is pretty evenly distributed between the two of them.

Zombie apocalypse aside, Krista can be pretty likable. Really! It takes some time for people to get to see the "old" her, but before the virus hit her hometown she was social, popular, and all the other things you can expect from a pretty girl. She's used to getting her way, but she's not a complete brat when she doesn't. Krista's very grounded, but she definitely likes to have some fun when she gets the chance. Which is rare, in Z-land, but if the opportunity arises, she's on it. She's got a cutting, sarcastic sense of humor, and a cheesy side, even if she has to be a little drunk to let it show. While she doesn't put much thought into relationships or 'hooking up', she does have a bad habit of flirting without meaning to, or caring much about the aftereffects. She likes being the 'cool chick', and she'll rapid fire pop-culture references at you to prove it.

Other:
She's a huge comedy flick fan, with a particular liking for Bill Murray movies, and has a habit of laughing at all the wrong moments. Her first temporary tattoo was of a porpoise, first kiss was with a hottie named Scotty Lynch, and 1997 overall was a pretty damn good year for her. Wichita is an awesome shot with a firearm, and she's pretty fearless when it comes to defending herself. She doesn't consider herself 'risky', but if she needs to leap without looking, she'll do it. Nine times out of ten though, her moves are all pretty calculated.

Character Notes:
History:
+ Born in Warroad, Minnesota. Or maybe Canada.
+ She was raised in Wisconsin.
+ She matriculated at the University of Wisconsin, where she majored in "Political Science and Government. And sociology and psychology. And biology, for a while, with a minor in french. And drama."
+ She dropped out of college to support her boyfriend, who was in med school. After breaking up with him, she came to work for the Bartlett for America campaign. (Well, not so much work for as sneak into Josh's office and pose as his assistant.)

+ She started out essentially paying to work for Josh, but true to her prediction, she proved valuable and was soon hired on full time. After they won, she kept her position in Josh's office when he became Deputy Chief of Staff

I’ll take Donna from the same point in S1 as Josh.

Personality:
Donna is a bright, dedicated woman. Despite not finishing college, she is very intelligent and dedicated to education. Much to Josh's dismay, she reads almost constantly on a wide variety of subjects (although she tends to remember only the most bizarre or obscure facts.). While she enjoys tormenting Josh, she takes her job very seriously and she's good at it. Among the many secretaries in the West Wing, she is one of the informal leaders, staying on top of everything from morale to information leaks. She's also one of the few people who will stand up to Josh and the rest of the Senior Staff when they're being bullies, and is never shy about speaking her mind. Donna has opinions, and she’s there to share them.

Which isn't to say that Donna is all work and more play. In fact, on the work to play ratio, the scales are heavily weighted toward silliness and frivolity. Despite being smart and dedicated, Donna can be a flake, especially on unimportant issues (little minutiae, like who's waiting to ambush Josh in his office, or whether visiting dignitaries speak English.) She also enjoys taunting her boss and is very, very good at it. She knows exactly how to get under Josh's skin and puts her talent to use at every opportunity. (She likes to look at it as keeping him humble.) She has an irreverent sense of humor that is almost always present, even when it's inappropriate.

While not verbally abusing Mr. Lyman, she enjoys gossiping with the other West Wing secretaries, dating republicans, and long walks on the beach.

Makoto Kino - 2/3

[identity profile] dragoon1940.livejournal.com 2010-09-15 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History:

Prior to her life on Earth, she was one of the Sailor Senshi of the Moon Kingdom, representing the planet Jupiter. She served as a guard and a warrior for the Moon Kingdom, protecting Princess Serenity (later known as Usagi Tsukino and Sailor Moon). Following the kingdom's fall, she was reborn on earth as Makoto Kino.

Mako (as she's called by her friends) is a tall, tom-boyish girl and not much is known of her early life. She's orphaned, her parents having been killed in a plane crash. This has given her a distaste and fear of airplanes. However, for all intents and purposes she simply seems to have spent the rest of her life on earth as an ordinary (if skilled) young woman. It is rumored that she was kicked out of her last school for fighting (and that's easy to believe, considering her physical strength and unwillingness to take bullying lying down).

She would've lead a normal life if she hadn't interefered when an agent of the Dark Kingdom attempted to claim one of the rainbow crystals. Luna unlocked her powers as Sailor Jupiter and she joined Usagi and the other senshi in fighting the Dark Kingdom and seeking out the princess (who turned out out to be Usagi, much to their surprise).

During the final push against the Dark Kingdom's base in the Arctic, Makoto gave her life to destroy agents of the enemy and buy Usagi and the others time to finish their task. However, she was revived following Usagi's defeat of Queen Beryl, thanks to the Silvery Crystal. She'd lost her memories of her time as a senshi again and she did not regain them until the Earth was once again threatened by invaders (aliens this time) seeking the life-energy of its people. Since then she's taken up her friendship with all of the senshi again – after all, they've been through quite a bit together!

Personality:

Makoto is a friendly, outgoing and self-sufficient young woman. She's also something of a tom-boy and enjoys the occasional bout of rough-housing, as well as more masculine pursuits such as sports and martial arts. She has a strong sense of loyalty and won't hesitate to throw herself into an argument or a fight for a friend (or in between a friend and an oncoming motorbike). She also has a strong sense of duty, as she always does her best to make sure that Usagi (her princess) comes through safely. She hates bullies and will intervene to put them in their place.

She tempers her own masculinity with feminine pursuits such as cooking, flower arranging and cleaning. She does this on purpose, in order to help herself find her own sense of identity. She believes that she's too boyish (at least physically , considering she's both taller and stronger than other girls her age) and tries to compensate for it. Of course, she also genuinely enjoys cooking, cleaning and helping others out with other mundane tasks. She's not the best student – in fact she's only slightly above Usagi in the rankings!

She's also a hopeless romantic when it comes to men. She had a boyfriend and although they've split up, men that remind her of him tend to send her into starry-eyed remembrance and make said man an object of her affection (at least for a little while). She even enjoys reading romance novels.

Other: Even as a normal girl, Makoto is particularly strong and tall for her age. She's able to lift a fully grown man over her head and shes adept at judo. She's also an excellent cook and baker, very good at organizing and cleaning, and even has an eye for decent flower arrangement. She's intelligent, but she's not the best with studying.

She possesses the power to transform into Sailor Jupiter – one of the Inner Senshi. This boosts her already impressive physical abilities and allows her to attack opponents with an electricity based attack – Supreme Thunder.

Bass 2/?

[identity profile] roll-soul.livejournal.com 2010-09-15 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History: Bass is a robot created by Dr. Wily as a rival to the hero Megaman, built off his plans and with upgraded versions of all the same abilities. Originally when first meeting Megaman he pretended to be on his side, fighting against Wily and his latest scheme to take over the world. Feigning injury Bass gained access to the labs of Mega's creator, Dr. Light, and subsequently "went mad" and destroyed it, taking the plans for Mega's dog-like support unit Rush on his way out. A short time after this he revealed his true colors as Megaman's enemy, and with his own support unit now (the wolf-like Treble, built from Rush's information) he fought Mega in Wily's fortress, but was beaten down despite his greater strength. After this the two of them would come together again and again, always ending in Bass's defeat.

There was an interesting change, however, when a robot named King claimed to be the strongest in the world, with a desire to create a world for robots. Not able to bear someone saying they were stronger than he (and also wishing to take care of this before Megaman can get into it), Bass took on King's team of robots, eventually making it to King himself. King challenges him, asking him why he was fighting for "lowly humans" and Bass, somewhat showing a spark of something good inside him, answered that humans need respect, as they were the ones that created robots. The two fought, with Bass beating him down, resulting in King asking him to finish him off. Bass asks him who he was created by, and is shocked (and angered) when told it was Wily. Their builder cuts into the battle here and activates deadly programming in King, beginning the battle anew to try and finish Bass off. But again Bass is triumphant, although the fortress takes heavy damage and is on the verge of collapsing. King, back to his senses, urges Bass to get out before it's too late; Bass again shows a rare goodness and is concerned over King's safety, but is again told to leave. He does right as the fortress comes down and, feeling angry and betrayed, goes to challenge Wily. Though they fight, Wily gets away, and Bass is once again left to his personal quest of defeating Megaman and proving himself the strongest robot ever built.
Personality: Bass is an ass. I mean, it's right there in his name. He's vindictive, touchy, closed-off, stubborn, overconfident, and all around not a pleasant person to be around. He's also very egotistical, believing himself to be the greatest robot around, and not taking anyone's argument otherwise. He has few friends and many enemies, least of which is Megaman (in his mind anyway, since Mega would rather put the bad blood behind them). Ever since the King incident Bass has also put Wily on his hit list, and loathes his creator with every fiber of his being.
Even with all this however, there's still something good inside Bass. Deep inside. Very deep inside. Although he will fight any strong opponent that comes his way, he will not fight the innocent or the weak. He abhors senseless killing (another reason he hates Wily so much, as Wily doesn't care who he hurts in his bid for power), and can't abide by anyone who hurts people for sport. If there was ever some greater cause at stake he would even team up with Megaman, although you can bet it would come with him loudly proclaiming it was for some other reason than The Greater Good.
Other: Since this is a re-app, Bass will return with almost all of his memories, CR, and the like. The only things I'm removing are the events of Megaman 9 and Megaman 10 that past canonmates and I have covered.

Veronica Mars 2/a lot

[identity profile] bitch-isback.livejournal.com 2010-09-18 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History:
As far as the series discloses, Veronica was born and raised in Neptune, Califorina. Even though Veronica's dad was Sheriff, there wasn't enough prestige in that to let her hang out with the 09ers, the rich and famous Neptune residents who all inhabit the 90909 zipcode. That was a privelege she won by dating Duncan Kane and being best friends with Lilly Kane, the children of Jake Kane, the man who put a patent on live-streaming video.

During her sophomore year, Duncan breaks up with her without as much as a reason. Soon after, Lilly Kane is found dead by her family's pool. Sheriff Mars accuses Jake Kane of the murder, and as a result the entire town turns against him. He's voted out of office in an emergency recall election. Veronica's mother cracks under the pressure and abandons them. Because Veronica won't speak out against her father's decision, she's ostracized at school. The 09ers want nothing to do with her.

A few months after Lilly's death, Veronica crashes an 09er party just to show that she doesn't care what they may think of her. She drinks a spiked drink and wakes up in a guest bedroom without any underwear or memory of what happened the night before. When she tries to report what happened to her as rape to the new Sheriff, Don Lamb, he basically laughs in her face and turns her away.

That is basically the end of the person Veronica was before. As a result of all of these events piling on top of her, she's left a lot more jaded and cynical than she once was.

She takes all the negativity directed at her in school in stride, and puts all of her energy into helping her father with his new detective business. She often helps students at school with her detective skills, doing anything from digging up dirt on their parents to getting to the bottom of lost cars, theft, harassment, corrupt elections, etc, etc...

Her hard as nails exterior starts to crack a little when she befriends transfer student Wallace Fennel (by rescuing him from behind duct taped to a pole...). He acts as the Watson to her Holmes and becomes the first real friend she can actually trust after the Kane murder.

Veronica spends most of season one trying to get to the bottom of the Lilly Kane murder. Along the way she discovers:

- Veronica's mother was having an affair with her high school sweetheart, Jake Kane, at the time of Lilly's murder. Lianne Mars could have used this alibi to contradict the one he had given, so Jake's wife Celeste Kane ran her out of town. Veronica tracks Lianne down and spends her entire college fund putting her into rehab, but Lianne skips out without Veronica's knowledge. When Veronica finds out, she's hurt and asks Lianne to leave.

- Celeste Kane also caused the breakup between Duncan and Veronica by telling Duncan that Veronica was his sister. Because Lianne and Jake had been having an affair for so long, it was entirely possible that Jake could have been her real father. Veronica spends a lot of time worrying about this, and even gets a paternity test done to see if Keith Mars is her real father. At the last minute she realizes that he is her father no matter what and shreds the results, but he later gets a separate test done and learns that he is indeed her real father.

- Duncan has epilepsy, which causes him to have fits of rage and blackouts. He was the one who discovered Lilly's body. Because he had no memory of it and was found by their parents cradling her and covered in her blood, they assumed he killed her in one of his fits of rage and paid off Abel Koontz (who was dying of cancer anyway) to confess for him.

- Over the course of the season, Veronica becomes closer to Logan Echolls, Lilly Kane's ex-boyfriend and one of the 09er's ringleaders. When she spends time with him at his house and finds hidden cameras, slowly things come together and Veronica realizes that Logan's father Aaron was sleeping with Lilly, and responsible for her murder after she found the camera and stole the incriminating tapes of them. The season ends with a confrontation between Veronica and Aaron, where he locks her in a broken fridge and sets it on fire, only to be rescued by her father just in time.

FUCKING SPOILERS HOW DO THEY WORK

Character: Dodger Allen
Fandom: Cry_Wolf
Character Notes:
History: Dodger grew up in some dinky little town near a very prestigious boarding school. But, because her mother was an English teacher and her father was a janitor, she never had high hopes of attending school there. Luckily for her, she’s smart as hell and managed to get a scholarship at the school. She excelled there and made a group of friends and they all hung out together and played a game in the school’s chapel at night whenever they snuck out together. Her favorite subject was, by far, journalism. She fell for her teacher, Rich, and they had a torrid little love affair. Or at least, they did until she found out he was screwing some other girl. Dodger, being a psycho jealous bitch, decided that she needed her revenge on both Rich and the girl. And so, she shot the girl in the face while she was in the woods near the town and let the wolves living there take care of destroying most of the evidence.

To get her vengeance on Rich, however, she comes up with this convoluted plan involving Owen, the new British kid on campus. She makes him play The Game (you lost it, sorry!) with her friends and makes him fall for her so he’ll do her bidding. The two of them make up an email about the person who killed the girl in the woods and send it out to the school, making it sound like they’re a serial killer and the next murders are going to occur on campus. Dodger and her friends all jokingly make up each other’s deaths not assuming that it’ll come true and Owen will become a paranoid head case about it.

After several people scaring the shit out of Owen by dressing up as The Wolf (the serial killer they all made up) and pretending to carry out the murders he gets a little wacked out and LOL SHOOTS THAT TEACHER. And so, Dodger gets her revenge and gets off scott-free.
Personality: Dodger is, in so many words, a manipulative bitch. She’s an excellent plotter and she knows how to twist people in juuuuust the right way to make them want her in some capacity. She knows how to turn on the charm and turn on the sex kitten and turn on the waif and she is good at all of it. There’s no problem with lying in her book, and she makes up the smallest little lies which are partially based in the truth. She is an extremely jealous person and goes to extraordinary lengths to enact her revenge if she feels she’s been slighted. Dodger is really good at reading people, especially predictable people, because she was able to figure out what Owen would do if they scared him enough and made him think that Rich was the killer.
Other: She’s a fucking hottie, okay :|

[identity profile] effin-science.livejournal.com 2010-09-18 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Character: Death the Kid
Fandom: Soul Eater
Character Notes:
History: Not a whole lot is known about Kid's young life other than the fact that he decided to shirk off every proposal of marriage he ever got and work to make his own Weapons rather than relying on others to do it for him. He met Liz and Patti while he was wandering around Brooklyn and they tried to mug him, which he wasn't terribly impressed by. Later, he saw the girls getting beaten up by a group of thugs, and he decided to step in and save them which lead to them agreeing to be his Weapons.

Kid acts as a sort of freelance soul collector for a while, until he decides to enroll in Shibusen for the sole purpose of "saving" the other students from Stein. Unfortunately, his rescue mission fails because he gets caught up worrying about whether or not he remembered to fold the toilet paper into a triangle and never even makes it down the hall.

Because even a school dedicated to teaching children how to fight is still a school, Kid's status as Shiny, New Student warrants a bunch of people talking about him. Thanks to the fact that Black Star and Soul are... Black Star and Soul, they decide that no one can be more talked about than them and decide the New Student must die. Their plan backfires because Kid isn't an idiot and actually knows how to fight and didn't decide to just start switching Weapons for no reason at the last minute. Basically, Kid kicks their asses but manages to get in with the group as one of the cool kids so he's not purple and filling in the background like the rest of the losers at that school.

Black Star and Kid have a wacky adventure and try to go wield Excalibur and both decide it's definitely not worth it. A bunch more filler showing that Kid's liek totes bffs with everyone despite his symmetry psychosis happens, including seeing Blair in a towel and taking a test, and then OH RIGHT THIS SHOW ACTUALLY HAS A PLOT. SORRY BOUT THAT, WE FORGOT. XOXO~

Character: Peeta Mellark
Fandom: The Hunger Games

History:

Panem is something of a post-war, cyberpunk setting, which takes place at some unspecified point in the future. Formerly the North American continent, most of the lower half of what was once known as the United States is now underwater, due to several natural disasters (most likely global warming). The government reverted to a feudal society, and divided up the remaining landmass into 13 districts, with the each district specializing in a different form of industry. Some districts were devoted to agriculture, some to manufacturing luxury items for the Capital, and some were responsible for mining fossil fuels which would provide power for the rest of Panem. Those districts that were closest to the Capital were more prosperous than those further away to the east.

74 years prior to the opening of this story, there was a war that erupted between the various districts and the Capital. Tired of the inherent inequality forced upon them by the government, the people rose up in rebellion in order to bring about change. But with their superior technology and weaponry, the Capital neatly quelled such notions by destroying the entirety of District 13. Having made a fine example of what happens to traitors and revolutionaries, the Capital restored order and instilled a sense of absolute fear into the hearts of the people in the most Machiavellian fashion possible.

In order to keep that memory alive, the Capitol then instituted the Hunger Games: an annually televised free-for-all of Darwinian proportions. Each district selects one boy and one girl (between the ages of 12 and 18) through lottery to offer as tributes, who then fight to the death until only one is left alive. Whoever wins the Hunger Games will spend the rest of their life living in comfort and convenience, while their district will be awarded with food and other much needed items for survival for one year, until the next installment of the Hunger Games is hosted...

Re: Peeta Mellark | The Hunger Games 2 of ???

[identity profile] masterofthepen.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Peeta Mellark is the son of the local baker in District Twelve, and has been in love with Katniss Everdeen since he was five years old. On his first day of school, Peeta's father pointed out the young Katinss, dressed in a red plaid dress, and said, “See that little girl? I wanted to marry her mother, but she ran off with a coal miner.” The young Peeta was instantly smitten. Like father, like son. Both doomed to live in quiet obscurity, their love forever unrequited.

For the next eleven years, Peeta quietly watched Katniss from afar, unable to work up the nerve to actually talk to her. Haymitch's decision to put a spin on their relationship as “star-crossed lovers” was truly apt: Peeta was born into a relatively well-off family who lived in the mercantile sector of town, while Katniss was a poor girl from the Seam. He was social with some of the other townsfolk; Katniss was more of a loner and preferred her own company. He's social, gregarious, has a flair for showmanship, and possesses artistic talents. Katniss is aloof, calculated; she does what's necessary to survive and doesn't waste time on frivolities.

Yet despite all those differences—or perhaps because of them—Peeta finds himself hopelessly head over heels for the strong and capable huntress. He's one of the very few people who's ever born witness to her vulnerability, which is highlighted by a pivotol event in Katniss' childhood.

When both children were eleven years old, Peeta burned some bread on purpose in order to give to the starving Katniss. Though his mother beat him, he shouldered the pain quietly and offered what little he could so that Katniss could live. Though Katniss never properly thanked him, he was happy knowing that his small offering was enough to keep her going. He is unaware just how much of an impact that event had on Katniss, how those two loaves of bread gave her the strength to keep on living...

Ironically enough, Peeta counts himself fortunate to have had his name drawn for the Hunger Games, after Katniss took her sister's place as a Tribute. He claims it was “a real piece of luck.”

Personality:

Peeta is described as a boy of “medium height, stocky build, ashy blond hair that falls in waves over his forehead” by Katniss. He also has blue eyes. The audience is captivated by his innocent and sometimes self-deprecating manner, which earns him a great deal of favor among his sponsors. One would expect the son of a baker to be rather naïve, if not a bit dim-witted, but Peeta displays a surprising level of intelligence and stratagem both in and out of the Games. He works with Haymitch in order to use his strongest attributes to best advantage. A less scrupulous person wouldn't care about using any means necessary to win, but Peeta's devotion to Katniss is indicative of his gentle nature and willingness to go to extreme lengths in order to insure her safety. Unlike Katniss, he's never had to kill for his food and lacks the instinct and cold, calculated personality in order to take a human life in cold-blood. This is most likely why he claimed that he would never be able to win the Hunger Games.

He only kills two opponents during the Hunger Games, but neither of them were done willingly. The first was the girl attacked by the pack of Career Tributes, but whom Peeta was forced to finish off in a mercy killing. The second was the girl from District Five, nicknamed Foxface by Katniss, though it was an accidental death. She stole some berries from Peeta's pack that were actually poisonous, and which Peeta had intended to eat himself. Those berries actually prove to be crucial in a last ditch gambit played by none other than Katniss in order to allow both Tributes to be accepted as winners...

If given a choice, Peeta would prefer it if Katniss were to win. His love for her is so great that he can't stand the thought of anything bad happening to her. He would willingly sacrifice his own life in order to insure her safety.

[identity profile] lavida-loco.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Character: Yoshitsune
Fandom: Air Gear
Character Notes:
History: Yoshitsune’s past is probably one of the best kept secrets in Air Gear as next to nothing is known of it and he dies without revealing so much as a shred of knowledge about his origins. What is known is that when the original eight Regalia were scattered, through some unknown means, Yoshitsune managed to get his hands on the Rumble Regalia, Ram Jet. Through other unknown measures he was able to form a Storm Rider tie-in known as Trident, an A-Class Storm Rider team in the Kansai region of Japan—though his base of operations is primarily in Kyoto. Trident gained a reputation for being the strongest team in Western Japan and some time before the introduction of Yoshitsune and Trident his team became a component of Genesis, the largest and strongest Storm Rider team in Air Treck history composed of many other teams. Upon entering into this powerful alliance, which was probably a strategic move on Yoshitsune’s behalf, he became known as the Rumble King and one of the five Kings of Genesis. When we’re first introduced to Yoshitsune he was playing Tetris and talking to Yasuyoshi Sano also known as Aeon Clock a Storm Rider and a one-time member of Behemoth. They were discussing Ikki and his future as King of the Wind Road and leader of Genesis. Yoshitsune was obviously disgusted by Ikki and his status, claiming that he was only made leader because Simca—who publically presided over Genesis—willed it. To Yoshitsune, Ikki was merely a “brat” who didn’t even possess the Wind Regalia and therefore had no business being a leader. Yoshitsune then set up a series of tests for Ikki including challenging Ikki to compete in the Devil’s 33, a dangerous type of Air Treck stunt that involves two storm riders jumping 33.3 meters off of a ramp. The reason it is so dangerous is because 33 of the riders team mates are also lying on the ground so the rider has to jump them all and there’s always the possibility that the rider could land on and potentially kill one of his teammates. The first time Ikki accepted the challenge against Yoshitsune, Agito (one of Ikki’s teammates) uses his Fang Regalia to unleash a fang and help propel Ikki all 33.3 meters and over Ringo. Enraged by the interference Yoshitsune absorbed the fang with his Rumble Regalia and turned it against Ikki. This caused Ikki to fall, but instead of landing on Ringo (who was laying at the 33.3 meter mark) he landed on and fractured his knee. After this Yoshitsune verbally flayed Ikki by telling him that it was a test of courage and determination and if he passed this test on his own Genesis would have had the confidence to follow him. Since Ikki relied on the help of another King he was unworthy of being the leader of Genesis. After Ikki apologized for his transgression and proved to Yoshitsune he understood, Yoshitsune forgave him instantly and told Ikki he could jump as many times as he wanted to. Once Ikki completed the Devil’s 33 successfully Yoshitsune showed up at his school a few days later to announce, reluctantly, that Trident would accept him as the new leader of Genesis. Even though he acknowledged this he still claimed that Ikki never beat him in Devil’s 33, because Yoshitsune never got the chance to jump. Of course Yoshitsune is ashamed of his acceptance because their leader is from an E-Class team while Trident is an A-Class team. Yoshitsune even went so far as to admit that this made him feel like “the king of shit.” So he took it upon himself to train team Ikki’s team, Kogarasumaru. The team refused to take his help so he dumped a bunch of stolen undergarments on them as a farewell gift and made a run for it for it leaving Ikki and Kogarasumaru at the mercy of their enraged female classmates. Eventually they did agree to Yoshitsune’s very harsh training.

Character: Dib
Fandom: Invader Zim
Character Notes:
History:Nothing much is known about Dib’s life prior to meeting Zim. However, in the episodes “Bad, Bad Rubber Piggy” and “Dibship Rising”, it is stated when Dib was a baby he was abducted by aliens and apparently recalls that he was as well. Dib also saw a baby big foot in the playground. Dib’s father, Professor Membrane thinks along with everyone else that his son, Dib, is just crazy and should get into REAL SCIENCE and not paranormal hocus-pocus. Dib’s sister is a little creepier named Gaz, who is always going to bring about Dib’s doom most of the time. Although she tries to bring about Dib's doom, Dib takes care of her like an older brother - as seen in “Gaz, Taster of Pork”.

Around the age of 9 or 10, while out on his rooftop scanning the stars for activity, Dib intercepted an Invader message (from the Tallest) about conquering the universe, and how all races will be under their rule. Six months later, a child with a green skin disorder arrives at school. Dib latches on to Zim and is fully convinced Zim is the one who has come to Earth to destroy and bring doom to the human race. Dib will spend a long time at wits end trying to stop Zim He does it, not only to save the planet (after all, Dib is humanity’s last hope), but also to prove his paranormal investigator theory that aliens are real and have Zim placed in a government testing lab.)

In “Mopiness of Doom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTETeinqERE)”, an unaired episode but the voiceovers and script were still finished, Dib takes on real science and is apparently rather good at it. He is able to calculate everything perfectly but becomes bored and empty as he would rather catch an alien.

Supposedly, Dib and his sister Gaz, are creations of Professor Membrane. However, the show was cancelled before Dib's roots could be explored further. He also supposedly conquers or enslaves the Irkens (Zim's race) at the end of the series as part of the unaired finale.

The episode “Dib's Wonderful Life of Doom”, has nothing to do with Dib's future since Zim put Dib in a hallucination system to have Dib confess that he threw the muffin at Zim in the school's cafeteria.

Personality:

Dib doesn’t think he’s crazy or insane as people claim him to be. And he’s not; as a paranormal investigator he keeps a level head and doesn’t fall quickly into hysterics without being rational about what’s going on first. In fact, he thinks anyone who is irrational is crazy.

Dib is called crazy and insane because he points out all of Zim’s strangeness (green skin, water burns, no ears), and also because he has a reputation of being a strange kid who goes on about strange things, such as the paranormal.

Dib talks aloud to himself, however does not answer himself.

Dib is courageous, without being cocky. If something doesn't make sense, like navigating an asteroid belt, he will stop himself.

To some degree, Dib is subconsciously disturbed. He has created a hellish monster alternate reality inside his own mind in “Halloween Spook Spectacular of Spooky Doom” (although Dib is not aware he has created this place until he is taken there and told so).

Dib is persistent to a point of beng obsessive compulsive about catching an alien.

Other:Dib’s mentor is Agent Darkbootie, who is the head of the organization, The Swollen Eyeball, a group of paranormal investigators. In the group, Dib’s codename is Agent Mothman

Interesting… Portals to other dimensions, I just hope this isn’t linked to the one in my head. Oh, cool! Werewolves! Zombies! I wonder if there are any aliens here as well. Um, viruses? The organization must apparently want me to investigate this site for its strangeness.

Well, sounds good to me. I just better make sure Zim doesn’t find out about this. Who knows what kind of trouble he could cause.

GAH! Gaz, what are you doing here?!

Third Person:
Dib was down in his father’s laboratory with the computers. He was trying to come up with a clever way to outsmart Zim and sneak into his house and get down into Zim’s alien base. Looking at the video cameras Dib had placed into and around the outside of Zim’s house.

“There has to be a blind spot somewhere,” he said to himself. “I just have to figure out where to look. Let’s see, if I come in from that way Zim will send his lawn gnomes on me… But maybe over here. No, that won’t work either.” Dib took a sip from a can of cola as he paused in thought. “Come on, Dib, you have to do this. The fate of humanity is resting on your shoulders. You are the only person keeping the Irken race from taking over the Earth!” There was a creepy vibe all of a sudden in the air and Dib looking over saw Gaz staring at him. “Gaaaaahhh!” His own sister was one of the few things that could freak Dib out, and she had the look of doom all over her face. Dib’s doom.

Character: Elizabeth Tudor
Fandom: Afterschool Charisma
Character Notes:
History: Warning!: Spoilers ahead.

In the year 2XXX A.D., cloning is not only possible, it is common and abundant. Technological advancements in the area, research and facilities all mean that any form of cloning is possible - even creating clones of the long-dead. This is where St. Kleio's Academy comes in; it's a boarding school that houses the clones of significant historical figures, and it educates and raises them to mimic, and even outdo, their originals in every way - for research, to see how their works could benefit society, and just generally for human observation and enjoyment.

Elizabeth Tudor was probably created in a lab facility, where she would have stayed until she was stable and old enough to be sent away, and then she would have been shipped off to St Kleio's to begin her studies. She grew up there and became a close friend of Florence Nightingale, also finding friendship in Marie Curie, Napoleon, Freud and Ikkyu. For the next decade or so she would have grown up surrounded by historical clones and buried in information; she had to memorise everything to do with Queen Elizabeth I, from history and dates to personal knowledge (such as languages spoken by the original) and little tidbits of information.

A year before the series takes place, a boy named Shiro Kamiya joins St. Kleio's, despite not being the clone of a famous historical figure; in fact, he's not a clone at all, and he's only attending the school for convenience's sake, because his father begins working there. Despite this, and despite the spite, jealousy and shun he receives from most of his peers for being so different, he is quickly welcomed by Napoleon and Ikkyu, thus joining their small group and becoming friends with Elizabeth.

The school is not as nurturing and caring as it first sounds, though, it turns out. Marie Curie rejects the idea of being a scientist, instead longing to be a musician, and when Dr. Kamiya, Shiro's father, is told, he apparently sends her off to live with a relative and study music - however, that is the last time anyone ever hears from her. It's heavily implied, though not yet quite confirmed, that she was deemed a "failure" and killed so that they could begin anew with a Marie Curie clone. Elizabeth and her friends are unaware of this, but they are quite worried about the absolute loss in contact, even with Shiro's optimistic reassurances.

Everything starts to go downhill after that. The clone of JFK, a graduate from St. Kleio's, is making a speech for the purposes of propaganda when he is suddenly shot in the head - naturally, the younger clones are frightened more than anyone, plagued with the fear of their lives playing out just the same as their originals, just as it appeared to happen with the JFK clone. While many think it is destiny, as Freud finds out, there is another reason - there is a group trying to assassinate all of the clones at St. Kleio's Academy.

A strange cult makes an appearance - those praying to the "Almighty Dolly", named after the sheep that was the first successfully cloned mammal. They hope that her luck and success will stop them from also playing into fate's hands, and that they will be able to sever their ties with history. Unbeknownst to the students, and thus far unexplained as to why, the Almighty Dolly keychains are bugged, and one ends up in Elizabeth's hands as part of a plan of some sort. She doesn't attend the cult meetings or anything, but she accepts the doll in the hopes that it will keep her from her fate - becoming an old maid who is doomed to die alone.

Bad things keep happening. Mozart tries to hang himself, claiming that there is no point in being himself and that "Mozart is dead". Joan of Arc becomes increasingly more terrified about her fate, considering that her original died at an age she is fast approaching. Throughout all of this, most of the students, including Elizabeth, are fretting over an upcoming expo; the school expo is where all the students perform to show off what they have learnt and the accomplishments they have made so far, and it also doubles as what is pretty much an exam. They have to prove that they are progressing towards the height of their originals. Elizabeth, presumably happy with her studies, spends most of her preparation time making an extravagant dress.

Things just keep going downhill. The school's most hated person, Director Rockswell, shows up (and Elizabeth spends a lot of time understandably off-screen; the instant she sees Rockswell and he comments on her dress, she flees the room and doesn't return). A little girl called Pandora shows up, who looks incredibly similar to Marie Curie. Joan of Arc is going to be burned at the stake for a performance during the expo, which puts everyone on edge. Elizabeth may not be a central feature to a lot of this, but she's around throughout it, generally being concerned and very out-of-the-loop.

Everyone seems to be looking forward to and enjoying the expo, despite the sudden and mysterious disappearances of Shiro, Pandora and Mozart, who have been locked up by Dr. Kamiya. Elizabeth and the others all hang around and chat excitedly and make fun of each other, and soon enough they all move into the auditorium to listen to opening speeches, excited but a little on-edge, mainly because of the stunt involving Joan that is approaching. During Rasputin's speech, however, the group looking to assassinate the clones suddenly strikes again; they set off an explosion, bringing down the ceiling of the auditorium and sending everyone running screaming. Elizabeth manages to find her way safely outside, although she's in hysterics and sobbing because she loses sight of Florence and Ikkyu.

And that's as far as I can tell you because not even those bits I told you about just now are translated, I had to put it together from untranslated scans, sob. One day Viz will release the rest in English. o9

Personality:

Elizabeth actually seems to be a very typical teenage girl. She's rather cheery most of the time, she's certainly not afraid of speaking her mind, and she can be pretty loud at times. She's enthusiastic, a little dramatic, energetic, and occasionally she's boisterous and kind of overzealous. She often flits between being immature and rowdy, and mature and thoughtful (although, she considers it "mature" that she "doesn't want some high school romance" and she wants to jump straight to something more serious; getting married, that is).

She's certainly not an idiot, though, even if she does have a tendency to overreact (or at least express herself strangely, or too dramatically). It's just that she keeps the full extent of her thoughts to herself if she thinks it's going to hurt her friends - she's caring and pretty protective, as is evidenced by the fact that she snaps at Ikkyu just for calling Florence Nightingale a worrywart. She becomes reasonably concerned about both matters that don't quite involve her and her friends - she doesn't overdo it like Florence, but she isn't a drywall like Freud. Still, her friends are obviously important to her, and she cherishes them.

Able to use elements and summon a Child (which is likea giant robot ex--OH MY GOD ALL MY CHARACTERS PILOT GIANT ROBOTS AT ONE POINT OR ANOTHER KILL ME--cept it's actually a god or something, don't ask me it's anime), Fuuka's headmistress desires to gather her and the other eleven HiME to the school... for what purpose? I'm sure it's conviluted and silly, don't worry.

But all Mai wants is to be able to take care of Takumi and get him the help he needs, and the scholarship to Fuuka Academy is just the starting point she needs.

Character: Christopher Carrion
Fandom: the Abarat series, by Clive Barker
Character Notes:
History:
Christopher Carrion is a prince of the Carrion line, a family which has ruled a substantial portion of the islands of Night for ages past (and when I say islands of Night, I mean it literally, because in the Abarat time is place). He was one son of a large family, but he was favored, and was relatively happy in his early childhood on Pyon (where it is always 3 in the morning). Then his sister, Theridia, choked to death on a fruit in the orchard. In a rage, Carrion's father set fire to the tree, and the fire spread to engulf the entire palace. Christopher was saved from the blaze by his grandmother, Mater Motley, but his mother and many brothers all perished. Since then Carrion and Motley have lived on Gorgossium, the island of Midnight, in the family castle Iniquisit. In spite of Mater Motley's constant, extremely evil influence, Carrion managed to become something of a romantic. Once, he used the word "love" in front of Mater Motley. She sewed his lips together, and he was unable to speak, eat, or drink for a day before she relented. He still has the scars.

At some point, he met the Princess Boa, daugher of King Claus, the islands of Day's counterpart to the Carrions. Carrion fell madly in love with Boa, and exchanged a multitude of letters with her while they lived on their respective islands. Carrion pleaded with Boa to marry him and forge a new peace together, across the islands. Boa, however, remained uncertain, and eventually turned Carrion down completely.

Convinced at last that no one could ever find him anything but an "ugly, scarred, nightmare-ridden grotesque," Carrion became one. When Boa became engaged to another, Finnegan Hob, Carrion paid to have a dragon kill her on her wedding day. The dragon succeeded, though it was then killed itself by Finnegan.

Carrion turned to the dark side completely. He developed a way of extracting nightmares from his brain, which are funneled into a fluid contained by a tall collar he wears. He breathes this fluid, and the nightmares, and is able to take the nightmares out and inflict them on others. He has developed a remarkable, and deserved, reputation for cruelty and evil.

He has become enamored with the idea of bringing about, for a time, absolute midnight- a total lack of any light throughout the Abarat. This would enable the mythic Requiax, creatures of unimaginable evil, to rampage across the world once more. And perhaps, afterwards, when the world as it is has been destroyed, he can create his own world order.

It wouldn't be a pleasant one.

well this time it's because Bella's an enabler

[identity profile] cruelty-begs.livejournal.com 2010-09-26 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Carrion is very, deeply, messed up. He enjoys inflicting pain (mostly of the mental or emotional variety) on others. He knows the way in which people break, and gains amusement from seeing how easily he can do it. He literally lives and breathes his own nightmares, finding in them confirmation of some of his beliefs as well as useful pets with which to hurt others. It's very easy for most people on his world to think of him as what, to most of the world, he is- your typical totally evil villain. But things are, of course, a little more complicated.

Perhaps the three most important things to know about him are these- 1) he hates himself, 2) he hates the world, and 3) he still hopes for something that will maybe prove both himself and the world worthy of something other than hatred, maybe even love.

He knows he's ugly. He knows what he does is cruel. He knows that he's evil, and deserves to be hated. At least a part of him is sure that the reason that his trying to be good failed was because there is something essentially monstrous about him (an impression which Mater Motley no doubt encouraged), and he hates that. At the same time, he's convinced that the world should have given him a better chance, and that the fact it didn't proves there's something essentially monstrous about the world, and it deserves whatever he can give it.

Yet the Carrion of the past isn't entirely dead, as sometimes shows in his philosophical streak. He believes in providence, that everything happens for a reason, that everything serves a purpose. Usually, he believes this purpose is nothing worthwhile, but sometimes he dares to hope that something good can come into his life again. In his more philosophical moods he can be something almost close to kind, doing things like assuring a henchman who he is extremely displeased with that the man is not worthless. It also shows through in his still-abiding appreciation for some things of beauty or determined goodness, whether it's a mechanical bird or a mysterious girl he admires.

But the truth is that Carrion has let himself grow far too twisted, and when something good does come into his life, he isn't able to handle it well. Anything of beauty he finds will end up in a cage. He is obsessive, completely disregarding others in the pursuit of what he wants, even if what he wants is love. He is also prone to violent bouts of temper. When things don't go his way, people tend to get yelled at, slapped around, beaten up, or thrown in a cell for later torment (this is different from when he's bored- that means playing mind games so that people do the above to each other). He is sometimes capable of controlling his temper for the purpose of a larger plan, but it shouldn't be counted on. And should he take something very personally, his anger can be overwhelmingly destructive, as evidenced by the assassination of Boa.

Still, he is extremely intelligent. He is remarkably well-read. He makes sure to conduct experiments and research of all sorts, to be better equipped to carry out his plans. He is skilled at obtaining and managing information- he has spies in quite a few places, and realizes when it's smart to act dumb. He knows that in order to succeed, it can be necessary to make alliances he finds distasteful, and he does so. Carrion is ultimately a big-picture person. Unless he is directly or completely hurt or foiled in pursuit of one of his great obsessions, he can deal with a few idiots or insults.

He maintains something of an artistic bent. He is a great lover of poetry and music. But again, his taste can reveal nihilistic tendencies. His favorite poem, for example, is called "Memories of the World's End." (If someone introduces him to Blake, he will probably love "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell" forever.)

At this point, while a part of him still hopes otherwise, pretty much all Carrion is capable of, whether he is driven by hatred or love, is destruction.

Character Notes:

[SPOILERS FOR THE SHOW GLEE]

History:
Kurt asked for heels as a present when he was three, and he knew what and who he was since he was a kid. He lives with his father as it’s mentioned that his mother died 10 years ago when he was six. In the first episode ‘Pilot’ he joins the Glee club by performing Mr. Cellophane from the musical Chicago. He quickly starts a friendship with Mercedes Jones, a bit one sided in the beginning when she confesses that she loves him and Kurt tells her that he is in love with someone else, Rachel Berry. The truth finally comes out to Mercedes and he tells her that who he really wanted was Finn Hudson, not Rachel. After this, the two become especially close friends.

In the episode ‘Preggers’, Kurt becomes part of football team as he seems to be a surprisingly good kicker as long as he dances to Beyoncé‘s song Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) beforehand. At the end of the episode Kurt confesses to his dad that he is gay and looks extremely relieved when his father says that he loves him no matter that. He already suspected it since Kurt was a child but never spoke about it before.

In the episode ‘Wheels' Kurt is upset because he is not allowed to sing Defying Gravity because it’s a song traditionally sung by a girl and Mr. Schuester gave it to Rachel. When his father discovers about it he discusses the issue with the School director (Principal?) and Will and they decide to have a competition to see who the better singer is. Kurt is capable of reaching the high F note (something that male singers can't usually do) required for the song, but purposely fails the competition in order to keep his dad from being mocked and humiliated. When Burt ask why he did it Kurt told him that he is not going to hide who he is but that he loves him more than he loves being a star.

Kurt and Finn are paired for a duet during ‘Ballads’ and Kurt gives Finn advice about what to do when he meet Quinn’s parents. He also tried to sabotage Rachel’s attempts to get together with him by giving her a bad makeover in ‘Hairography’, but at the end of ‘Sectionals’ they develop quite an understanding friendship. Later on, Finn and Kurt have a few problems related to their parent dating and wanting to live together. Those problems are a subject that will be explorer further during the second season that just started.

Kurt Hummel || GLEE 2/3

[personal profile] notasinglelady 2010-09-26 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality:

He is a nonconformist in an unaccepting society and, in short, a tough guy in designer clothes. Kurt has an 'I'm better than you' aura around him and he won’t hesitate to tell that to people either. He puts up a strong and snarky attitude to cope with the hard time the other students give him because of his sexuality. He confesses to Mercedes in the episode ‘Acafellas’ that he is not as self-confident as he might look and that he has insecurities about expressing any genuine thought or feeling. That’s especially shown in the end of the episode of ‘Preggers’ where he finally comes out to his father and looks anxious while waiting for his response. He can be mean too, Rachel being one of the usual targets of his sarcasm because both are in love with the same person, Finn Hudson.

He is used to being thrown in the dumpsters by the football team, slushed on a daily basis and called names, that’s why the call his father gets insulting him during the episode ‘Wheels’ didn’t surprise him as much as it did to his dad. He refuses to show them weakness and believes that these kinds of difficulties made him stronger and that would be what would get him out of the town one day (no wonder Defying Gravity is one of his favorite songs).

He's compassionate with Quinn even if they never spoke until the season was almost over, he helped Finn with his baby drama and he will "take one for the team" for his family or his friends.

Kurt’s looks are one of his most characteristic traits since he is practically a walking cliché of a gay man. He's flamboyant in his dress, speech, mannerisms, and interests. He loves to wear the latest trends in fashion, especially jackets, hats and kerchiefs or scarves knotted around his neck. He will often stand with one hand on his hip, even when he sings, and sits cross legged.

His eyes are green-blue, his hair (which he is obsessed with too) is dark brown and he has really pale skin. He was one of the smallest of the football team members as Kurt is not exactly the tallest boy in High School (it doesn’t help the fact that Finn is so freaking tall he looks like a giant in comparison to most of the gleeks). Kurt has quite a feminine voice, ‘but in a good way’ according to his father, and he’s a singing countertenor.

Other:
A bit more info about the mentioned characters:

-Burt Hummel: Kurt’s father, a former high school and college football player who owns a garage. He raised his son alone after Kurt’s mom died and they have a really close relationship. Burt might not always understand him but he tries his best to be supportive.

-Mercedes Jones: Is a dynamic diva-in-training who refuses to sing back-up and dreams of being a star. Due to the scheming of the cheerleading squad, Mercedes develops a crush on Kurt, unaware that he is gay. She is hurt when he rejects her, but supportive when he confides his sexuality. After this, the two become especially close friends.

-Mr. Schuester: William "Will" "Schue" Schuester is McKinley High's Spanish teacher who becomes director of the glee club. He was a Glee Club kid in high school and helped his Glee Club win nationals, now he wants to restore the Glee Club to its former glory.

-Finn Hudson: Is star quarterback of the school's football team who risks alienation by his friends to join the Glee club. He quickly becomes Kurt’s love interest and he’s the reason Rachel and Kurt fight often. Kurt hopes that if Finn breaks up with Quinn, he will turn to Kurt for comfort.

-Rachel Berry: She is the star member of the glee club, who is misunderstood by her peers. Rachel is a determined girl that wants to become a star, she joins the Glee club hoping that fame will increase her popularity. She is often bullied by members of the school cheerleading and football teams, and falls in love with the quarterback Finn Hudson.

Character: Conan Edogawa | Shinichi Kudo
Fandom: Detective Conan

2/... I have no idea.

[identity profile] always1truth.livejournal.com 2010-09-26 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History: Shinichi is the son of a retired actress, Yukiko Kudo, and a world famous author, Yuusaku Kudo. His mother retired after she turned twenty so that she could live the life of a normal Japanese housewife. His father continued to write his best selling series ‘Night Baron and started helping the police force out with certain cases as Yuusaku is a much better Detective then Shinichi.

At an early age Shinichi showed signs of having the potential to become a great detective and usually dragged his friend, Ran Mouri along on many of his adventures. At age seven Shinichi was given a challenge that was meant for him to give up on and give his father but he was far too stubborn to do as the challenger expected. Unknown to the little detective, and still unknown to him to this day, that challenger was none other then the Original Kaitou Kid, Kaitou 1412.

When he was fourteen his parents decided to move to L.A. and Shinichi chose to stay in Japan, probably so he could stay with Ran. From age fourteen to sixteen he lived alone and built up quite the career as a famous high school detective. At age sixteen Ran won the regionals championship in karate and as a reward Shinichi promised to take her to an amusement park known as Tropical Land.

Ah, Tropical Land, the place Conan hates most in the world. There is actually a very good reason for that. While on a date with Ran, sixteen year old Shinichi Kudo came across a case dealing with decapitation and set eyes on two men in black trench coats for the first time. He quickly solved the murder and while walking with Ran noticed one of the men in black from earlier acting suspiciously, thinking nothing of it he bid farewell to Ran and followed after the man.

He tailed the burly man behind a building and witnessed a blackmail transaction, in the manga, he whips out a camera and discretely snaps a few shots. However, Shinichi forgot a very important detail while spying on the suspicious man; there were two.

Before he can react properly, the other man comes up behind him and beat him over the head with a blunt object. Shinichi stumbles and falls forward, unable to move. Instead of shooting him dead like any other thug in black, they force feed him an untested poison and leave him for dead.

However, he does not die! Instead his body has a rare reaction to the poison and instead of programmed cell destruction, as the poison is supposed to do, he shrinks! And it is much less then painless. He body over heats and his chest throbs, he thinks about how his bones feel like they’re melting as they shift and reform to a smaller size. Soon after, he passes out as the pain is too much.

When he comes too, Shinichi realizes that everyone seems much bigger then they should and shortly after discovers that he’d been shrunk. He escapes the concerned police officers and runs to his house. Too bad for him, he can’t reach the door to let himself in. He meets up with his neighbor, and through some fancy deductions only Shinichi could pull off convinces Agasa he’s who he says he is and the two decide to conceal his identity.

Shortly after that, Ran comes looking for Shinichi and discovers the small six year old, who had quickly shoved on a pair of his dad’s old glasses as a make shift disguise. She presses him for a name and he combines names from Edogawa Rampo and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to get ‘Conan Edogawa.’

And thus! Conan is born. Agasa convinces Ran to let Conan live with her and her father as Kogoro is a detective and there is a chance someone will bring in a case dealing with the mysterious men in black.

A part from Agasa, several others know the true identity of the chibi detective. His parents, another high school detective by the name of Heiji Hattori, Kaitou Kid (through some fancy eavesdropping) and an ex member of the organization that shrunk him, Ai Haibara. She’s in the same boat as he is but took the poison willingly.
