Marie Mjolnir | Soul Eater | two | what the fuck /edits

[identity profile] touchmy12inch.livejournal.com 2010-11-03 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History: Marie is one of Shinigami-sama's 'Death Scythes', meaning that she's accomplished the ultimate goal of eating ninety-nine souls and one witch's soul. Prior to her appearance in the story, she'd been assigned to the post in charge of Oceania. After the release of the Kishin, she's called back to Death City with the other Death Scythes to help in the war effort. Because her soul has a calming wavelength, she's paired with Franken Stein in an attempt to combat the onset of insanity inside him. (She's not pleased about this at first because HOW IS SHE SUPPOSED TO RETIRE AND GET MARRIED NOW.)

Anyway. She starts teaching in Shibusen, becoming friendly with the students, particularly Crona. Unfortunately, this makes Marie a prime target in the witch Medusa's plans, as Marie lives with Stein and the witch intends to use her to spy on Stein. Crona slips a vector snake thing into Marie's tea which binds to her soul. This allows Medusa to hear what's going on but also makes Stein's insanity worse.

When Shibusen goes to collect to the weapon BREW, Marie and Stein are the first to enter the magnetic field - but there the snake inside Marie causes Stein's insanity to suddenly intensify and he really begins to lose it. As a result, the operation is a failure, and Shibusen is forced to retreat. From this, Shinigami-sama concludes that there must be a spy present and calls Internal Affairs. 'Buttataki Joe', known as B.J, is sent to investigate. This makes things a little awkward for Marie because they used to go out and she does her best to make him regret breaking up. But after B.J discovers the snake inside Marie, and she destroys it, they look set to patch things up with dinner later.

However, that never happens. On the way to the dinner, B.J is murdered and Marie is left waiting at the restaurant. When Stein is suspected of committing the murder, Marie leaves with him to track down the true culprit. They eventually track the killer down - Justin Law. Just as it seems they might capture him, Justin escapes. Fucker.

Annnnnd much later Marie has a little bit of a bitch fit at the witches wandering around Shibusen because they mocked the fact she isn't married :'D AND THEN when everyone seems to be having a party instead of trying to save Kid from Noah, she's all "GUYS THIS IS SILLY." And punches Spirit out, bam. Then leaves because she is incredibly unimpressed by everyone. She does go with the other adults to smoke out Noah and his gang, only in the latest chapter they're kind of... getting their asses kicked and Justin's being a total jerk about punching the crap out of Marie 8(

...S-So yeah, that's it so far.

Personality: Marie is kind of a really massive ditz (BECAUSE SHE'S BLONDE, LOLOLOL no offence to blonde people that was a joke), and she's a bit of an airhead. The girl can't find her way anywhere - she gets lost easily and just gets more lost when she tries to unlose herself. Her true ambition in life is to settle down and get married but that's looking less and less likely these days.

She's got a short temper and is preeeeeetty quick to react violently - she smacks her friend in the face, yelling "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT REAL LOVE IS" after an innocent comment, and considering her weapon form is a hammer, she can throw pretty hard punches. Despite that, she's generally a kind and good-natured person, taking Crona under her wing and feeling that she has to protect the kids at Shibusen - when they're in danger, she freaks out.

Marie's not what I'd call vengeful but she's certainly determined to ensure that justice is served , obvious in the way that she hunts down Justin. And when she trusts someone, she trusts them absolutely - along with the others, she believes in Stein even when he's accused of murder.

Current Characters: Squall Leonhart, Hibari Kyoya, Albel Nox

Character: Mihael "Mello" Keehl
Fandom: Death Note
Character Notes:
History:
• An orphan, and former resident of the Wammy's House, located in Winchester, England. Wammy's, with the appearance of any other orphanage, exists with the sole intention of creating an "L"; a genius detective possessing superior knowledge. With the current "L" deceased, a new successor must be chosen.

• The young Mihael, possessing above average intelligence, is raised alongside many talented children. As is customary in the Wammy's House, he is assigned a letter (M), and to protect his new identity, is given the less conspicuous code-name, "Mello". Ranked according to his abilities, he is placed 2nd beside the reticent Near.

• With the death of L, and the choice between Near and Mello left undecided, the two are asked to work together. Insulted, Mello vehemently declines.

• Repulsed by the thought of cooperating with his rival, Mello leaves the Wammy's House. Determined to become to new "L", and free from interference, Mello pursues a life of criminal gain.

• Using illegal means, and a connection to the Mafia, Mello seeks both the Death Note⎯a dangerous book that kills with the use of names and faces, and the demise of Kira⎯a murderer, responsible for the death of L, and at present, possessor of 1 of 2 Death Notes.

Personality:
• A manipulative young man, Mello uses both his intelligence and his charm to outsmart and deceive his would-be captors. Above all else, a brilliant schemer with dreams of grandeur.

• Fearless. Dangerous, and unpredictable. Motivated by jealousy, and driven by desperation, Mello is often times careless. Depending solely on his emotions, he is quick to act on impulse.

• However selfish, Mello is not without conscience. He is neither ignorant of, nor blind to, the suffering caused by his destructive methods.

• Despite his impressive intelligence, Mello is intensely jealous, envying and even targeting those who view themselves as "superior". Underneath the dramatic bravado, he is deeply insecure. Ranked 2nd only to Near, he considers himself inferior. What Mello desires most is the status and prestige of "1st".

• Mello seeks only to achieve his own ends; to become the new "L". Unlike his rival Near, Mello displays little interest in the "just and fair".

• With a focus that neither wavers, nor wanes, Mello will doggedly pursue a goal. It does not matter if lives are at risk. ⎯For the title of "No. 1", most brilliant and best, and second to none, Mello will gladly risk his own.

Other:
• Mello, much like his mentor L, possesses an inexplicable lust for sugar. Mello surrounds himself with chocolate. He keeps a bar or two on-hand, eating compulsively, and habitually snapping off chunks.

• He is a Sagittarius, born on December 14th. At current, his age is 19.

• Assumed to be Catholic, Mello wears a beaded rosary, and collects religious artifacts.

• Although sociable, Mello maintains very few relationships. Outside of the Mafia, his closest contact is Mail "Matt" Jeevas. ⎯Another product of the Wammy's house, ranked 3rd beside Mello himself.

Mihael "Mello" Keehl | Re-submit Part Two

[identity profile] cheering-mao.livejournal.com 2010-11-04 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
First Person (entry type):
The only letter that matters is "L", right? Right now, it's just a competition. Something like a game. But, here, the rules are different. No matter what, you're always playing. In addition, you can only lose so many times. ...I never liked that kind of pressure. Me, I'd run straight into a wall. I'd start to think, "Jesus, maybe they're right. Maybe I'm making a bloody fool of myself. ...Maybe I'll never be good enough for this." It starts to get embarrassing. ⎯I hated it. Honest, Matt. It's not like I didn't try. I just... I got so goddamned frustrated. I'm starting to think it was all for nothing. Here, I'm just a nobody. A piece on a chessboard. No one remembers second best.

Anyway, none of that matters anymore. If I can't accept the rules, then I'll find a different game to play.
Believe me, I'll cheat if I have to. ...But, one way or another, I'm gonna win.

For me, this is war. I'm just choosing a different side, is all.
Beyond these walls is a whole new battlefield.

Everyone's gonna see me, Matt. Just me. ...You'll see. I won't be forgotten.
The next time we meet, I'll be more than just a rook.

Third Person:
It was pouring rain the night he left, cold and blustery, as were most Winchester nights. Of course, tonight would be much different. Tonight, he'd leave that prison behind. ⎯The Wammy's House, with its tall iron gates... Its noisy halls, and invasive stares. Its assignments and rankings, and...

Failures.

No. He hadn't failed. ...Not yet. He stopped to catch his breath, rain matting his hair and obscuring his vision. Mello narrowed his eyes, teeth clenched, and lips numb from the cold. No turning back now, and no reason to hurry. ⎯It wasn't as if they'd come to retrieve him.

Mello sneered, a bitter, resentful grimace of sorts.

It must have been some kind of joke. Did Roger really... Did Roger intend for them to work together? ⎯Near... Near used people like pawns on a board. Like a puzzle, he figured them out by matching the edges. Approaching, interacting with them as he would an equation. ⎯He'd always hated that about the boy. But, Mello... Mello was more than just a puzzle piece. More than the name that he'd been given. No, Mello would do things differently. This time, he'd do it his way, free from the bindings of law and restraint. He'd go underground. He'd find Kira first... Steal the Death Note, and reclaim his place.

Now, only a single slot remained.
Surely, the title of "L" belonged to him.

Character: Donatello Hamato
Fandom: TMNT (movie)

[identity profile] halosandthorns.livejournal.com 2010-11-05 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History: Donatello, along with his three brothers, had once upon a time been nothing more than normal turtles. Their sensei, Splinter, had once been a normal rat, as well. However, an encounter in the sewers of New York City with an ooze-like mutagen created by TGRI turned them all into something... more. Donatello, his brothers, and Splinter all began to grow more humanoid in appearance. They all grew in intelligence (some more than others). Splinter began training them in the art of ninjitsu.

Because of their appearance, Donatello and his brothers weren't allowed to visit the surface very often. They furnished their home by rummaging through the refuse that humanity left behind. One day, when Donatello was still very young, he brought home a nonfunctional television set and managed to repair it. Needless to say, after that, Donatello became borderline obsessed with technology. It was this way that his family was able to stay current with the outside world, as Donatello found ways to hook them up with cable and, eventually, internet. It was Donatello who created a monster by introducing Michaelangelo to video games.

Donatello's life was more or less quiet - as quiet as a life with brothers like Mikey and Raphael can possibly get - until the Foot Clan, a group of ninja thieves, slowly began making their presence known in the city. He and his brothers would often sneak to the surface to combat them. One fateful night, they rescued April O'Neil, a TV news reporter. They had slipped away into the night without letting her see them. It wasn't to be the last time they would meet her, as Raphael, who had been tailing the woman in an effort to regain his lost sai, rescued her yet again, as the Foot Clan had begun targeting her after she had named them over a public broadcast. Despite her initial fear at their appearance, April quickly became a part of the family, which would soon include the vigilante Casey Jones. When Splinter had been taken by the Foot, the turtles hid out at April's home, and, when that was destroyed during a skirmish with the Foot, they retreated to April's old family farm with a comatose Raphael. Many days passed before Raphael regained consciousness. Soon, the brothers were training harder than ever in preparation for their fight with the Shredder, leader of the Foot Clan and the very same man who had murdered Splinter's master Hamato Yoshi fifteen years before. The tussle proved to be too much for them to handle, as each brother insisted on taking on their enemy all on their lonesome. Defeated, it was left to Splinter to take down Shredder. It wouldn't be the last they saw of Shredder.

Some weeks later, TGRI would begin to unearth old canisters of radioactive chemicals the company had disposed of some scant decades earlier, prompting Splinter to finally reveal to his sons their true origins. Donatello had some trouble adjusting to the truth of his origin, as he realized that there had been no greater purpose in his creation - he, his father and his brothers had all simply been the byproduct of some freak accident. He would have no time to ruminate over this, as Shredder soon returned; he had kidnapped TGRI scientist Professor Jordan Perry, and forced him to create his own mutants to battle the turtles with. Perry, however, had sabotaged the process, leaving the resulting creatures - Tokka and Rahzar - with limited intelligence. Donatello assisted his brothers in rescuing Perry, and he and Perry worked together to create an antidote that would reverse Tokka and Rahzar back to their natural state. With the snapping turtle and wolf out of the picture, they were able to take on the Shredder. Shredder, however, had dosed himself with the mutagen, turning himself into a Super Shredder. Shredder, however, took himself out of the picture, and the boys were able to escape with their lives.

Samara Morgan | The Ring

[identity profile] banerry.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Character: Samara Morgan
Fandom: The Ring
Character Notes:
History:
Even before her birth, Samara's life was really freaking screwed up. Her birth mother was mentally ill herself and suffered from extreme postpartum depression, during which she attempted to drown Samara. She claimed that the baby herself had told her to; that she was possessed by an evil spirit and that death was the only way to save her. Whether this is actually true or not is, like many other things surrounding Samara, never definitively determined-- personally, my guess is that she wasn't (because, after all, death ended up making her WORSE rather than better) and that she was just a severely mentally ill little girl, no demons or possessions involved.

Of course, as anyone who's ever seen the film knows, her mental illness was far from the only problem. Samara possessed the ability of projected thermography, meaning that she could project or record images from her own mind onto other surfaces (such as paper, or a videotape), or into other peoples' minds. It's never fully clear whether or not she can control her powers, though evidence leans toward "no". When asked by a psychiatrist how she made some unsettling pictures, she answered, "I don't make them, I see them-- and then they just... are". This ability caused her adoptive mother (Anna) a great deal of distress, because she would see disturbing visions whenever she was near Samara. Her adoptive father (Richard Morgan) moved Samara into a little room above the family's horse barn in hopes that not being around her so much would stop Anna's visions, but unfortunately, it had the same affect on the horses-- they were driven insane, and would jump into the water and drown themselves. Eventually, Richard had both Samara and his wife committed to a mental hospital, in the hopes that the doctors there would be able to help them.

Neither distance nor doctors were able to help the family's problems. Soon after her eighth birthday, while on vacation in Washington state, Samara was killed by her mother. First she attempted to smother her with a plastic bag, but when Samara struggled, she hit her over the head with a brick and threw her into a well. There Samara survived for seven days, all the while attempting to climb out. After her death, a vacation cabin was built over the well where she died, and her spirit used her projective thermography to create a cursed videotape that kills anyone who watches it after seven days unless they spread her story and her message by showing it to someone else.
Personality:
First off, Samara is WEIRD. Her voice and mannerisms are flat and expressionless, and she rarely, rarely, RARELY shows any sort of emotion. This doesn't just appear to be due to an attempt to hide her feelings, either-- either the emotions themselves or the means of expressing them just aren't really there. Despite her many issues, however, she is still a child, and she shows some bursts of affection here and there (she's quoted a few times talking about how she "loves [her] mommy"). Still, while these sentiments aren't unnecessarily insincere, they're subject to the same lack of expression and enthusiasm as everything else in her life.

After her death, she's a bit different. She becomes incredibly angry and vengeful, seeking to cause as much suffering as possible because of the extremely unhappy way in which she lived and died. While in life she doesn't seem particularly malicious (her powers are, of course, but again, it's never indicated that she has much control over them), her spirit definitely is after she's killed. She also very much wants her voice to be heard, which is where the idea of the cursed videotape comes in.

Santana Lopez 2/?

[identity profile] skullduggery.livejournal.com 2010-11-08 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Character: Santana Lopez
Fandom: Glee

Character Notes:

History:

Santana's relationship with her parents is largely unknown, apart from the fact that her dad is a hot-shot doctor with an apparently smokin' insurance plan. Santana obviously wants for nothing; she was even allowed to have a breast enhancement surgery during the summer between seasons 1 and 2.

She's a member of the Cheerios, Sue Sylvester's elite cheerleading squad at McKinley High School. She is granted the role of Head Cheerleader once Quinn becomes pregnant and kicked off the squad during season 1, but loses this role back to Quinn in season 2 when Coach Sylvester finds out she had breast enhancement surgery over the summer. Santana jumps Quinn in the hall next time she sees her, seeking to return the humiliation by attacking her physically and calling her out over her previous pregnancy.

During the beginning of season 1, she was also a member of the Celibacy Club; like most of the other members, however, her membership was intensely hypocritical.

She joins Glee Club along with her best friend and fellow Cheerio Brittany S. Pierce only because Coach Sylvester decides they would make the perfect pair of spies to aid her with her plan of destroying the Glee Club. She truly comes to love Glee Club however, branding it as the "best part of her day."

Santana is mostly shown as being promiscuous: sexting with Puck, taking Finn's virginity, apparently having sex with Brittany, and sleeping around with guys in general. At one point she and Puck were actually dating, but she broke up with him due to his low credit score. Despite having dumped him, she grows very jealous of fellow Glee Clubber Mercedes when she later "dates" Puck; things get physical between the two girls when they perform a very tense and loaded version of "The Boy is Mine."

When everyone else falls for Jessie St. James' switch over from rival Vocal Adrenaline to McKinley's New Directions, she is the only one to see through this and consider him as a spy for the other side.

Shanoa 2/?

[identity profile] originaldragoon.livejournal.com 2010-11-09 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Shanoa
Fandom: Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Character Notes:
History:
Shanoa is one of the female warriors of the Order of Ecclesia, a group that is said to be dedicated to finding a way to destroy Dracula for good. She was raised in the Order by Barlowe, along with her adopted brother, Albus. It is unknown whatever happened to her biological parents. What little is known of her childhood seems fairly normal, since she would play tag with Albus and then cry when she wasn't able to catch him.
As she got older, she started training in to become a warrior. As it turns out she had a unique ability to channel power through the glyphs on her back and shoulders. Because of this, she was chosen to become the vessel for Dominus, the ultimate Glyph that was designed to destroy Dracula. As she was about to absorb Dominus, Albus interrupted the ceremony and took the Glyph, saying he was supposed to be the one to have Dominus. Apparently, because of the disruption, Shanoa, lost her emotions and memories and thus had to go through a crash course on her training.
A few weeks go by and Shanoa goes out to get Albus and to retrieve Dominus, still with no memories but has regained some knowledge on how to use her glyphs. As she travels the country side, she discovered that Albus had imprisoned several villagers, and thus she frees them by using her glyphs.
During her travel though the country side, she runs into Albus twice. Each time he gave her a piece of Dominus. When she reports back to Barlowe about this, it is discovered that Dominus is really formed from Dracula's power. But Barlowe assures Shanoa that Dominus is the only way to defeat Dracula so she continues to search for Albus and the final piece.
Once she finds Albus again, he absorbs the glyph which surprises Shanoa since he was unable to absorb glyphs before. Once Albus absorbs the final piece of Dominus, he becomes possess by Dracula's power and attacks Shanoa. She ends up killing him and absorbs the final piece of Dominus. Once she did that, some of Albus's memories came to her, and she was able to communicate with his soul through Dominus. She found out the truth about the glyph. If someone uses Dominus it ends up killing them. Albus, knowing this the whole time, wanted to be the vessel for Dominus so that Shanoa would not have to sacrifice herself. But he was sent on a fool's errand by Barlowe so that the ceremony would take place without him around. So he ended up interrupting the ceremony to steal Dominus and thus save Shanoa. As it turned out, Shanoa losing her memories and her emotions were the results of partially absorbing Dominus at the beginning of the ceremony, and not Albus interrupting. Once she learned all of this, Albus mad her promise never to use Dominus.
Knowing the truth now, Shanoa goes back to the order to confront her master, Barlowe. As it turned out, Barlowe did not want to destroy Dracula, but to bring him back to the world and destroy mankind, and using Dominus was the to do just that. Shanoa, not wanting to die yet because she still has a lot of questions to be answered, fights her former master and defeats him. But Barlowe still manages to break the seal without Dominus, and thus Dracula's Castle rises.

Fandom: Enchanted ; 2007 Disney movie
Character Notes: that i did not copy from a disney role-play site i also play edward on on proboards pfffft
History:
Edward was born to the seventy-second King of Andalasia, and really only got to know that King because his mother died during childbirth. As a child, he was given everything he wanted, and had lessons in archery and swordsmanship. All this training for his impending taking over of the throne was appreciated, of course, but Edward knew his true purpose was to sing - to sing, and find the partner to his heart's duet. Despite his desire to have proper singing lessons, and possible lessons in the waltz, rather than these swordfighting and arrow-shooting and horseback-riding things, his father was relentless, and Edward had to deal with it.

This was increased tenfold when his father married another woman by the name of Narissa (strangely, said father died a few days after), who, in Edward's eyes, was wonderful. She spoiled him rotten, giving him everything he wanted, but she, too, refused to give her son the freedom in singing and dancing. It was apparent that Narissa was rather stern with this, since she hired a special man to take care of Edward, who went by the name of Nathaniel. She told him that Edward was not to be allowed to sing at all times, and that should Edward be caught, Nathaniel must report it straightaway. Because of this lack of freedom, Edward turned to what he did best that did not involve music - and that was training himself physically. This is the reason why he ended up troll hunting for ten or so years, up until he met the supposed 'love of his life', Giselle, on a faithful day.

Besting a troll, Edward had been singing, one of those rare times when the song simply took hold of him. Although he knew his mother would get mad at him for it, he continued - and when he'd heard the resounding bouncing back of the melody belonging to the voice of an inevitably beautiful maiden, his heart had pounded so quickly in his chest, that he'd been afraid of it coming out. Immediately moving to search for the girl, who had been attacked by the troll he'd bested not too far back (strange how its bonds were broken, that's never happened before), Edward had easily saved her from certain doom. As they sang together, riding off into the distance, Edward was certain that this girl was the one - they were to be married the next day, after all.

part 2

[identity profile] ohadate.livejournal.com 2010-11-09 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately, that was not it. On the day of the wedding, Edward was alerted by Giselle (his to-be bride)'s chipmunk friend, Pip, that his beloved had fallen into a well by the hands of an old hag. With desolation, and then pure fury crossing his features, Edward had gone off to find the girl with a sense of bravery and courage. Jumping into the well headfirst, without so much of a care for whether he'd crack said head or not, Edward had eventually come into the strange world of 'New York', where everything looked.. different. Certainly, Edward was still the most handsome among everyone else, but it was so bizarre. For one thing, nobody appreciated him when he killed the steel beast before it could digest the peasants in it - what's up with that?

Throughout the course of his searching for Giselle, Edward had also come upon various other things, such as a box that could control a magic mirror, certain look-alikes of his beloved that certainly caused him to waste time, and even more steel beasts that Nathaniel told him not to slay. By some faithful miracle, as he was resting (Edward had been toppled over by men on strange metallic horses with wheels), Edward had spotted Giselle right on the magic mirror - and after asking it where the girl was, he'd delightedly made his way to 116th at Broadway, blue eyes sparkling with renewed vigor.

The building he'd found was supposedly called 'apartment', as strange as that is, and when Edward entered, he'd realized how difficult this would be. There were how many flights of stairs, and how many rooms on each floor, and with a daring flip of his hand, Edward began his quest for the greater good. After a few seven-hundred rooms, Edward had found the room Giselle was 'held captive' in, and as he broke into song at his joy of finding her, he realized with a painful pang that Giselle would not sing with him.

Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew it was because of the handsome man, so-named Robert, in the robe in the background - but Edward refused to accept it. Instead, he asked her what the problem was, and after some persuasion, Edward agreed that he and his love would go on a 'date', whatever that was.

Having tasted his first hotdog (which, thankfully, wasn't a real dog), and spent majority of the day with his beloved, Edward felt nothing else could top this day than going back home to Andalasia - but, strangely, Giselle would hear none of it. She wished to go to some 'ball', and who was Edward to refuse his beloved anything? After being separated from her yet again (Giselle declared that she had to get ready), Edward prepared himself for the night of her life.

Which ended up with Giselle dancing with Robert during the King and Queen's Waltz.

With Nancy Tremaine as his dance partner, Edward had watched through horror-filled eyes as his beloved danced with another man, and the look in their eyes were unmistakable - and Edward knew that that was what true love looked like. Pain filled his heart, but he refused to accept that he was replaced by a man who hardly even fit the role of Prince. And so, with Nancy agreeing, and Edward trying desperately not to hit Robert in the fact with his sword, he got his princess back - and the two of them began their way home to Andalasia. Telling Giselle that he was going to retrieve her wrap, Edward did not expect to come back to find her unconscious in an elevator.. with his mother.

It was with the appearance of Nathaniel that Edward realized that it was his mother who caused his beloved to be poisoned, and that she wanted nothing but death for Giselle from the beginning. With rage filling him, Edward had declared openly that his mother would be taken off the throne (and inadvertently embarrassed himself by not knowing what melodramatic means).

Cameron | Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles [2/?]

[identity profile] the-tinmiss.livejournal.com 2010-11-10 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History:
Cameron is an unknown but highly sophisticated model of the cyborgs of 2027, commonly referred to as Terminators for their main objective of hunting down and killing humans, though that isn’t their only objective. Such as in Cameron’s case. Cameron was created to be an infiltrator and disguise herself as a human to get into the human camps. This might suggest the different behavior Cameron has to other robots of her time.

In the year 2027 Cameron’s mission begins with the abduction of a very close friend of John Connor’s, Allison Young. Cameron questions the young woman on a number of things, most of them pertaining to her personal life. Allison is confused by the line of questioning, and tries to withhold information. Especially about a bracelet that she claims her sister gave her.

After trying to escape Allison is brought back to Cameron only to be shocked that the Terminator has taken on her appearance. Cameron then confronts her about the bracelets and how many prisoners had them. And then she realizes they were a key to get into the bunkers, and had she gone back to the bunkers without it they would have known she wasn’t Allison. She becomes angry with Allison for lying and ultimately kills her.

What happens after that moment is sketchy at best. How Cameron was discovered when trying to infiltrate the bunker is never fully revealed, or how John Connor turned her to their side. But in the end he did, and not only did he turn her but he trusted her. He spent hours of every day in her company, he told her things he never told anyone else. She was his closest friend, and had she the capacity to feel she would have loved him of that she was sure. Their close relationship, though, might suggest why she was trusted enough to send to the past to protect a young John Connor over a human.

But once sent back to 1999 Cameron takes her mission very seriously. She spends 73 days trying to hunt down the Connors, only to get lucky when John Connor transfers to a new school finally and she enrolls with him. She tries to get close to him, but his paranoid upbringing keeps him at a distance. But when he’s attacked by Cromartie, a terminator out for his blood, the next day Cameron is the one to save him, quoting the famous line ‘Come with me if you want to live’.

From then on Cameron stays close to the Connors and guards them with her life. Her stronger muscles and enhanced thinking patterns make her able to react quickly and fight off the Terminator enemy, even if they don’t fully defeat him that first night. And it is her quick thinking that leads them to a bank where Cameron had someone sent back to the past to set up a time capsule to take them 8 years into the future so that Sarah can complete her mission to stop SkyNet before Judgement day.

In the future Cameron enrolls at a local high school with John in an attempt to keep close and protect him. She’s used by the family for other missions, like scouting out people or something simple like shopping. But her primary objective is always John’s safety. She’s willing to kill anyone or anything that comprises his safety, and often has to be talked out of it. But sometimes she reacts without permission, all for John Connor’s safety.

Current Characters: Ryan Evans, Hikaru Sulu, the Emoticon, John Watson, Schmendrick and HAL-9000

Character: Jessie (the yodelin' cowgirl)
Fandom: Toy Story
Character Notes:
History: Spoilers for Toy Story 3

Jessie was manufactured as a ragdoll toy for the show Woody's Roundup, a children's series about Woody and his friends beating up bad guys and saving animals and stuff. She was bought for a young girl named Emily, who played with Jessie all the time as a child. As she got older, however, she played with Jessie less and less, until she was eventually lost in Emily's room, under her bed. She spent many years alone, until one day, Emily found her. Thinking that they were going to play together again, she spent a whole day buckled in next to Emily as she drove out to a field they used to play together in. But instead of playing with the girl who loved her, she was instead placed in a box of donations and left for the donation van.

At some point, a collector of Woody's Roundup memorabilia purchased Jessie, bringing her home and putting her in a collector's case next to Stinky Pete the Prospector. The plan was, once they found a Woody doll, they would be packaged and sent to a Japanese toy museum. When Woody was accidentally picked up in a yard sale, Jessie assumed that they would finally be going to the museum. However, Woody managed to convince her that the museum would not be the right place for them; instead, she should come with him and be played with by Andy. When the toys finally make it home, Jessie is relieved to find herself welcomed into the group not only by the toys, but by Andy as well.

Jessie the Yodelin' Cowgirl [2/3]

[identity profile] devilishkurumi.livejournal.com 2010-11-10 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
As the years go on, Jessie and the gang get slowly outgrown by Andy. By the time Andy began to prepare to leave for college, their family had diminished to just a select few toys stuck in the old cowboy toy chest. Andy, told by his mother to decide what to do with his old toys, put all of the toys except for Woody into a trash bag, intending to take them up to the attic. However, Andy, distracted by his little sister, leaves the bag on the ground by the attic ladder, which swings shut. Andy's mother sees this and, thinking the bag is trash, puts them out onto the curb for the garbage man. The gang manages to escape into the garage, where Woody meets up with them. Jessie, not believing Woody's story about the attic and the mistake, sees a box to be donated to daycare in the car. Eagerly, she explains that toys in daycare get played with all the time. Ignoring Woody, she (and Buzz) help the rest of the toys into the box.

It turns out that daycare could totally be an awesome place, if Lotso Bear wasn't there to make it like a hellhole. Jessie realizes the mistake they've made after Woody leaves and they are forced to endure "play time" with the toddlers of Sunnyside Daycare. Buzz attempts to get them moved to the older kids' room, but is instead restored to factory defaults and put in charge of guarding the toys. Woody returns to rescue them, and Jessie admits to her mistakes, then helps the rescue mission by capturing Buzz so that they can restore him. Of course, they knock him into Spanish Mode instead, but Jessie's totally okay with that Rico Suave flavor of Buzz.

They nearly escape, but instead get thrown into the garbage truck; Jessie gets buried under some trash and Spanish Buzz runs to rescue her, doing some slow motion running that would put Baywatch to shame. He sacrifices himself to save her from a falling television, but instead of dying, he's miraculously knocked back into normal mode. The group of toys then have to escape the incinerator of the city dump. Once managing that, they make it back to Andy's in time to jump into a box for the attic; Woody enters a box for college, which is where he was put in the first place. Jessie assures him that she'll be fine in the attic ("I know about Buzz's Spanish mode~!"). However, at the last minute, he decides to write the address of a little girl on the attic box, joining his friends. Andy then gives all of his old toys to the young girl Bonnie, and drives away, leaving all the toys at their new home.

Personality: Jessie is one of the bravest, most athletic toys of the gang. She's generally cheerful, easily excitable and very determined. She cares deeply for all of her friends, and is incredibly loyal. She does, however, have a bitter streak, due to being abandoned. Though she hides it well, the smallest hint that she might be abandoned, thrown away or left in a dark place can send her into a panic attack. She's extremely sensitive about these kinds of things, and is both claustrophobic and afraid of the dark. However, by the time Toy Story 3 takes place, she's managed to control herself enough that, when told that there might be a way out of the situation, she will calm down enough to help her friends. She also is very fond of animals, Woody and Buzz. If she feels betrayed, however, she will get sullen and depressed, and that is a pain to fix.

Character: James Tiberius ("Jim") Kirk
Fandom: Star Trek (2009 movie, aka reboot)

Character Notes:
History: James Tiberius Kirk, named after both grandfathers, was born in space in the year 2233, in a small escape pod literally moments before his father died saving his and many other lives. During his infant and toddler years, he and his older brother Sam were mostly raised by their mother’s parents, her mother having moved in to help with the boys now that Winona was alone. As time passed, his mother remarried, his elder brother ran away from home because of tension with their stepfather and Jim, a bright young thing, became a delinquent. At the age of thirteen, he was sent to live with extended family in the Tarsus system. His planet, Tarsus IV, underwent a food shortage during his time there. Kodos, the governor at the time, made the highly criticized decision to have half of the eight-thousand-plus population killed in order for the other half to live. Under Kodos’ convoluted view of eugenics, Jim’s family were among those sentenced to death. Jim himself survived, being one of only nine to come face to face with the governor and thus able to identify him as a perpetrator of this mass murder. Although help came, Jim returned to the family farm in Iowa a much more jaded young man.

As a mentor of his once put it, he’s “the only genius level repeat offender in the Midwest.” If there was trouble to be found in or anywhere near Riverside Iowa, Jim found it. From hotwiring cars to breaking into a bank, simply to see if he could, his brilliance was clearly wasted. And then he found Starfleet, which could have been very good or very bad. Determination, however, was not something Jim Kirk could be found lacking in. If someone believed he wasn’t capable of doing something, or told him he wouldn’t happen, he would do it, just to prove them wrong. As a consequence, he was praised as one of the brightest cadets of his year, excelling in physics, xenolinguistics, survival training, hand-to-hand combat, and strategy-based command courses.

When the planet of Vulcan was attacked and Starfleet cadets shipped out to investigate, the Admiralty ruled he was grounded, pending further trial for a violation of school code. Evidence of just how strong his charm and personality can rub off on a person, his friend, Doctor Leonard McCoy ended up essentially sneaking Jim aboard anyway. When serious trouble broke out in the form of a genocidal, time traveling Romulan, Jim proved himself a hero went above and beyond what anyone expected of him (except maybe Bones; he likes to think his best friend would believe him to be some sort of superman), saving Earth and earning the Captain’s chair of the Enterprise, to boot.

Jim Kirk (2/?)

[identity profile] daredtodo.livejournal.com 2010-11-10 12:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Personality: James Kirk is the sort of person nobody lacks an opinion of: he is loved, hated, or regarded with some masochistic mixture of the two. Nevertheless, his personality – strong, hard-headed, resourceful, loyal, and stubborn – begs to be opined. In a professional setting, he can be called upon as an intelligent mind, possessing higher than average IQ, but is best renowned for his leadership and tactical skills. He has a gift for computer hacking, xenolinguistics, and mathematics, among other things, but his passion is in proving others wrong when it comes to his abilities. To put it simply, he doesn’t believe in no-win scenarios or anything being "impossible." That word simply means he has to be a little more creative in going about solving the given problem. Perhaps the strongest evidence of how strong his faith when it comes to this is the Kobayashi Maru. It’s a computer simulation given to Starfleet cadets to A) practice their bridge skills and B) coerce them into showing level-headedness even in the face of certain failure. Jim, already haven taken the test twice, took it a third time and had an unwitting accomplice install a subroutine in the program. He’d won what no one else had, because he wasn’t afraid to change the circumstances to be in his and his crew’s favour, no matter what the cost. This is a trait he looks for in the people he surrounds himself with, namely, his crew. The Enterprise, throughout her first rescue mission and subsequent, impressed again and again by doing things she oughtn’t have been able to do. While individual crew members were obviously a factor in this, Jim is their unifying force, the thing that brings them together and tells them to forget about the laws of physics and just do what needs to be done. This is something Jim both loves doing – motivating – and is great at doing. He can be critically supportive or switch to more gently so on a whim, wanting simply what’s best for those around him and the universe at large.

This resoundingly strong personality tends to carry over into her personal life, translating into charm that few bother trying to resist. He’s a flirt, by every definition of the word and people tend to fall for him, if only for the evening. Socially, he enjoys drinking, sex, poker, and if the situation permits, a good bar brawl. But not necessarily in that order.

Other: Jim has an assortment of rather severe allergies, including to most types of nuts and numerous vaccines. As a result, it is strongly advised no one give him medicine without express permission from his CMO. And for "strongly", "on pain of death" could be humorously exchanged.
Additional Links: Jim’s complete canonical information is here. (”http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/James_T._Kirk_(alternate_reality”) The Tarsus incident, part of Original Series canon, is detailed here. (”http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Tarsus_IV”)

Character: Doctor Leonard McCoy
Fandom: Star Trek 2009 movie
Character Notes:
History: (please note: canon pre-movie is reasonably sparse; the accepted theory is that the Original Series canon applies up to the point of divergence where the movie becomes an AU of the Original series. So some elements from the below are from TOS canon, some from the movie.)

McCoy wanted to be a doctor ever since he was a kid. He worked hard at school, fell in love with Jocelyn, a smart, beautiful girl, got through med school, became a doctor. . . then it all fell to pieces. He and his wife grew apart. They had a horrible divorce, and right in the middle of this, his father’s terminal illness grew so bad that McCoy unwillingly allowed him his wish to die.

Only a couple weeks later, a cure was found.

The divorce was finalised. He let Jocelyn have everything she wanted, partly out of self-hatred, partly to just get it OVER with. He needed a new life.

He found Starfleet. He signed up for the Academy as a doctor, and landed on the shuttle to the Academy with one James T Kirk, who supported him through his space sickness and became his best friend.

When disaster threatened, he went into space on the Enterprise, and ended up Chief Medical Officer (CMO) when the existing CMO was killed.

Personality: He’s grumpy, moody, and doesn’t easily let people in. He’s best friends with Jim, which is partly due to persistence on Jim’s part, and partly due to McCoy seeing just how goddamn caring Jim is under the devil may care attitude. McCoy respects Jim’s blinding desire to look after people, because he’s the same, just in a different way. He respects Jim’s assholeishness and the way he pushes for what he wants no matter what people think of him. This does cause grief between them at times, because Jim doesn’t always agree with McCoy, either, but he still respects Jim for it.

He is a healer; but he’s not a ‘never tell you anything bad’ kind of healer. If you need a kick in the pants, he’ll provide it. He wants people to be safe and well, and objects most strenuously to actions taken by his superior officers which threaten those things. However, he does understand that he’s not in command and once he’s had his say, it’s up to them what they do.

Having said that, though, if he needs to remove people from command when they’re unfit, he’ll damn well do it. He is CMO, and doesn’t take either the rights or responsibilities of that position lightly.

He’s scared of space, not fond of computers, and hates transporters. Starfleet was an interesting choice for him.

He’s a good listener, and essentially wants to support people. He will tell them if they’re being stupid, but he wants people to talk to him, wants them to lean on him, wants to give advice and sympathy and support. This is partly due to his profession -- he‘s the closest thing the Enterprise has to a formal counsellor -- and partly because he genuinely wants to help.

First Person (entry type):

Hell, what a day. First off Jim decides to set me up with a cute little ensign -- without telling me. And yeah, she’s cute, but most of all she’s snarky, so he’s not just throwing me at anyone with boobs, which I appreciate. But I’m not exactly looking for a partner right now. I’ve got too much to do with sorting out this sickbay. I haven’t been CMO for long, and I need to put my stamp on things. No matter what Chris Chapel says, that doesn’t mean reverting back to doing surgery with rotgut and fishing twine. Just because I’m not that fond of computers doesn’t mean I think every advance of the last five hundred years is bad.

So, having the aforementioned cute little ensign show up on one of my biobeds with a love letter to me temporarily tattooed on her stomach was not the best way to start the day.

Remind me to move Jim’s physical forward. I think he needs the full range of tests this time. Say, didn’t he have a case of Tyrellian two-step not that long ago? That gives me a few ideas.

Third Person:

McCoy tossed the folder onto the desk and sank down into his chair. He swore under his breath, leaning back to put first one foot, then the other, up onto the desk. He folded his arms, and stared at the door.

And soon enough, Jim arrived. What the hell was it with him? McCoy knew damn well the kid wasn’t psychic. He’d seen the test results.

“Spill,” Jim said, plopping himself down in the other chair.

McCoy glared at him.

Jim raised his eyebrows.

McCoy sighed, abruptly taking his feet off the corner of the desk to let them thump onto the floor. “I lost Resset.”

Jim’s face creased in sympathy. McCoy looked away. He knew the kid was just trying to be nice, but right now he didn’t want sympathy .Couldn’t deal with sympathy. He needed to be yelled at. “Happens, Bones.”

“Not to me. Not when it was just an infected goddamn spider bite.”

Jim paused. McCoy tensed, waiting for it. “What do you want me to say? That you failed? That the kid deserved better? Yeah, I know you failed, Bones. But I also know that you were up till all hours the last three days researching every possible antitoxin and synthesizing your own, and I know that Resset went into Security well aware of the risks. I wish he hadn’t died. He was a good guy. But you didn’t fail because of lack of effort or lack of care, and I’m not about to blame you for it.”

McCoy thought about that for a while, then he finally exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck. “. . .yeah, I guess.”

“You know I’m right. I’m awesome.”

McCoy didn’t even have to look up to know exactly what expression Jim would be wearing. The smirk to end all smirks.

Character Notes:
History:
Sebastian is a demon and, so far as is revealed, thousands of years old. He claims to have served at least one of the Pharaohs, as well as several kings, and to have been responsible for the Black Plague. Two years prior to the beginning of the anime, Sebastian helped a young boy named Ciel Phantomhive to escape a sadistic ritual sacrifice. Ciel's parents had been murdered, and Ciel himself kidnapped by the satanists and held as a prisoner for about a month. In the midst of the ordeal, Ciel managed to contact Sebastian and made a contract with him - in exchange for service as Ciel's butler, Sebastian would help him to find and have his revenge upon the people who murdered Ciel's parents and tortured him. Once that revenge had been completed, Sebastian would eat Ciel's soul.

By the time the series begins, Sebastian is ensconced as a permanent fixture at the newly-rebuilt Phantomhive Estate. (The old one had burned to the ground when Ciel's parents were murdered). He assists Ciel by preparing his meals, keeping the house, controlling his extremely incompetent and useless other servants (who suck terribly as servants, but are all special elite fighters who were hand picked and personally recruited by Sebastian to act as secret bodyguards), and tutoring his master in dance, history, music, and other such noble activities. Ciel is not only an Earl, and the CEO of the Funtom toy company, but also has a hereditary position as one of the Queen's personal 'guard dogs'. His job is to investigate serial murders and other bad things that appear to be beyond the ability of Scotland Yard, or which are too delicate to turn over to an official investigation. Sebastian, of course, is a great asset in these sorts of investigations.

Character Notes:
History: Justin Hammer is the 36 year old CEO of Hammer Industries, and the DOD's current primary weapons contractor, a position he took on after Stark and Stark Industries stopped producing weapons after Tony Stark's return from Afghanistan.

Born and raised in Queens, New York, he had a relatively normal childhood and teenage years with nothing of great impact happening. After high school he went on to college, attending Dartmouth and getting his MBA at Tuck. After that he started working on his life’s dream, that being Hammer Industries.

Hammer Industries has been Justin Hammer's life's work, as it can easily be called, because unlike Stark he has built the company from the ground up. This also plays a role in the jealousy (to be later mentioned) he feels towards Stark, since he feels as though Tony was handed everything wrapped up in a pretty box with a bow. He is, however, far more of a businessman than he is an engineer, and therefore he relies on hiring the best engineers he can to do the dirty work. Naturally everything gets overseen by him, and approved or rejected, but as it is things in theory don’t often work out the same way in practise.

That statement includes the work that Justin has been doing with trying to recreate the technology that Tony Stark has utilized with the Iron Man suit, because the aforementioned refuses to give up the technology. The government feels as though Stark should be handing it over because it could potentially be harmful, especially if another country got a hold of the technology and started using it against America. The government isn’t aware of what Hammer is doing – they would frown upon that, but he’s hoping to perfect it before bringing it to them, to show that yes, it has been recreated, but by an American. He’s hoping that, if he can recreate it, he’ll be set for life. (Ivan: “What do you want them do?”
Justin: ”Long term? I want it to put me in the Pentagon for the next 25 years. I wanna make Iron Man look like an antique. I wanna go to that Stark Expo. I wanna take a dump in Tony Stark’s yard, y’know what I’m talking about?”
)

Always having been second best, and while he tried to be friendly to Tony Stark, he would constantly embarrass him in some way or another, Justin also wants to prove that he can do it to Tony, too. Not that he’ll ever admit to that, naturally.

Character: Eiko Magami
Fandom: Project A-ko (first movie and subsequent OVA “Project A-ko: Love and Robots”
Character Notes:
History:
1. It isn’t stated explicitly, but HEAVILY implied that she is the daughter of Superman and Wonder Woman.
2. She is best friends with C-ko and they became friends after A-ko saved her from a wolf that escaped from the zoo. This happened while in kindergarten.
3. In the same kindergarten was A-ko’s rival, B-ko. B-ko used to tease and pick on C-ko though it apparently was a case of children picking on the people they like since B-ko is now infatuated with C-ko.
4. B-ko sent many mecha of her own design to destroy A-ko, all of which were destroyed easily until challenging A-ko directly in a skimpy battle suit. That fight was inconclusive.
5. A-ko dated an older guy named Kei Yuki. However, after a disastrous date, it’s revealed that he was actually interested in C-ko (who doesn’t share those feelings).
Personality: Despite her super strength and speed, A-ko is very much your typical teenaged girl. She wants to do well in school (even though she constantly oversleeps), she’s interested in boys, and basically just wants to fit in. As a result, she doesn’t exactly make it known purposely that she’s any different from other girls. It’s when she’s forced to make use of it that it becomes obvious (like when she catches a metal beam to save C-ko.)
Other: Just a quick rundown on her abilities:
1. Super strength – She is able to lift a mecha that’s several stories tall over her head and THROW it at another one, so she is obscenely powerful. She’s unable to lift a starship so there is a limit to her strength.
2. Super speed – No exact measurement, but several examples include her being able to outrun missiles that are fired at her and dodge gun and laser fire. At one point, she runs so fast as to destroy the asphalt under her feet.
3. Combat skills – Considering her parents, and watching her fight with B-ko, it can be assumed that she had some sort of combat training from one or both of her parents.
4. Bracelets – The bracelets she wears are capable of deflecting bullets much like her mothers. Unlike her mother’s, they also act as a power suppressor.

First Person (entry type): Ugh, today was a long…looong day. What’s so annoying is that it started out so deceptively well! I got to the front gate ready to just run past B-ko and she…WASN’T THERE! I’m serious! I was so shocked I actually stopped and looked around for her! Almost made me late for class again. So I get into class, feeling good and BAM! Pop quiz. After sweating through ten minutes of that, I learn that we have a report that’s due by the end of the week. PE wasn’t so bad, though I was still expecting B-ko to come jumping out at me from anywhere so I wasn’t really able to enjoy myself. C-ko brought me another of her homemade lunches. *SIGH* She’s such a sweetheart, but I swear I’m not going to recover one of these days. The rest of the day is a blur of forcing myself not to hurl. Finally, as I’m leaving to go home, guess what? That’s right. B-ko. So now I’m home, still feeling a bit queasy, AND have a headache from where B-ko sucker punched me.

How was YOUR day?

Third Person: Looking at herself in the mirror for probably the twentieth time in the last five minutes, A-ko turned around in a circle so that she could look at herself from all sides. The dress fit nicely, the small bit of hemming around the waist had done wonders and she couldn’t help admiring her own figure. She wondered if anyone else might admire it as well. She blushed at the thought, stifling a light giggle and slipping on her shoes. Picking up her purse and jacket last, she fidgeted a bit nervously. She’d never done one of these ‘world-hops’ but from what all the others had said, there was nothing to them and after hearing so much about all the other worlds out there, she simply had to give it a try. Looking at the dress again, she suddenly wondered if perhaps she was overdressed. Oh god, what if she was dressed completely inappropriately?! She’d look like some weirdo in a totally alien world! Oh no! She started looking around frantically for a change of clothes to take with her before…
There’s a knock outside her door.

Too late.

Finn Hudson 2/? sorry about this section >_>;

[identity profile] laneygaga.livejournal.com 2010-11-12 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
History:

Finn is an only child, raised by his mother as his dad was killed fighting in the Middle East when Finn was very young. He has been interested in music since he was a kid, when his mum hired a lawn care man who loved music and told Finn he had talent. However, he never pursued a musical hobby and instead went for sport at school.

He was blackmailed into joining New Directions, McKinley High’s show choir, by Will Shuester after Will supposedly found drugs in Finn’s locker. Finn insists that he’s never seen the drugs before and offers to pee in a cup to prove he’s innocent, but Will says possession is still enough to get him in serious trouble. Not wanting his mum to find out about this, Finn agrees to join glee when Will says he won’t mention the drugs to anyone if he does.

It takes a while for Finn to feel he really belongs in glee, but once he does he finds he really enjoys it. Following his lead, his girlfriend and two of her fellow Cheerios also join, as well as some other members of the football team.

Despite never actually having sex with Quinn, when she falls pregnant he believes her when she says the baby is his. Throughout the first season, Quinn demands Finn help provide for her and the baby by paying for the various hospital bills and he eventually manages to find a job with Rachel’s help.

After his mum catches his singing to a video of Quinn’s sonogram, he has to ‘fess up about the pregnancy. It’s obviously a weight off his shoulders, and also makes him realise that he doesn’t like having to keep it secret. Following Kurt’s advice, he sings a very telling song when he goes to dinner with Quinn and her parents, which leads to Quinn being kicked out of her home. Finn takes her back to his house and explains what has happened to his mum, who says Quinn can stay with them for as long as she wants.

And as if all that wasn’t enough drama, Rachel realises that Puck is actually the father of the baby and tells Finn, who reacts by punching Puck, yelling at both him and Quinn, then quitting glee. Right before Sectionals. The others convince Jacob, another student, to take Finn’s place as they are required to have at least 12 members, but luckily Will manages to convince Finn not to let them all down. He saves them at the last minute by turning up with new set list suggestions – which are needed because cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester leaked their previous list to the other competitors. New Directions go on to win the competition, but Finn still can’t bring himself to forgive Puck and Quinn.

S1.5 begins with Rachel having decided that she and Finn are now dating, although Finn seems to be unsure that this was the right choice. He ends up telling her he doesn’t want to date her and instead goes on a date with Santana and Brittany, not realising they are only interested in him because Sue has told them to try and destroy Rachel. After a really bad evening with the two cheerleaders, Finn realises he was being an idiot and tells Rachel he’s changed his mind about being her boyfriend, only to find it’s too late and she’s found someone else. When he finds out this ‘someone else’ is the lead singer of their rival choir, Vocal Adrenaline, Finn tells Will, who goes to see Vocal Adrenaline’s coach in an attempt to put an end to the relationship.

When Rachel tells him that she’s no longer seeing Jesse, Finn believes her. However, Santana tells him Rachel was lying, which leads Finn to sleep with Santana because she tells him he would be more attractive if he wasn’t still a virgin. He really regrets doing this, though, because it didn’t mean anything and he doesn’t actually feel any different afterwards.

Character: Kanna
Fandom: AIR
Character Notes:
History: In feudal Japan, there are very few of the race of winged beings left alive; their power led them to be feared. One of them is Kanna, a young girl who has lived all of her life protected in a shrine. Her guards are changed every few months, so she never gets attached to them; there are no constant presences in her life. She has never seen the outside world, and she dreams of seeing her mother again, who is still alive.

One guard, Ryuuya, eventually is taken by her plight and helps her to escape to see her mother. With him and Uraha, a servant of hers she has also grown fond of, she runs from the men attempting to kill her and sees the real world for the first time, as well as her mother - who promptly dies. Unfortunately, the men trying to kill Kanna catch up with them afterward, and Kanna is killed. She is cursed into being reborn as a normal human and then dying early, never being truly loved, over and over again. This forms the main plot of AIR.
Personality: typically prevents herself as very refined. She speaks archaically and formally, and deals with matters most children her age do not have to deal with. She considers herself above most people, largely because she is above them - she has servants and bodyguards, they do not.

She is also extremely immature. She whines, she throws temper tantrums, she calls people names. She's finicky and hard to please. When it's needed, however, she can be mature, such as when she's discussing whether or not murder is ever justifiable.

Kanna also has a warm heart. She's never seen the outside world, so she's naturally trusting of others, naive, and amazed by the smallest things, and her heart goes out to anyone in need. Her insights are surprisingly apt at times, since she comes from a point of view few others have.

Kanna can be vulnerable. She's never left her home, she doesn't know her mother, and when she does meet her her mother is killed. In those times, she clings to the only bastions of support she has.
Other: I will be playing her after the curse is lifted on her, in some kind of afterlife-type area.

First Person (entry type): This book... I remember this book. It's been a thousand years since I've seen it, but I would never forget it. It brought me closer to such kind people... Now, hold on, I'm certain I remember how to do this.

[The video clicks on. Kanna sits on the beach and waves.]

You must have missed me - I'm sorry for my absence. ...No, it would be a mistake to think that the same people would be here after a thousand years have passed, wouldn't it? Kaito-san, Karen-san, Kano-san, Ragna-san... I can only pray that they have reached the same happiness I was finally able to.

To all the new members of the community: my name is Kannabi no Mikoto, or less formally, Kanna. I hope that we, too, may become close.

Third Person: Kanna relaxed against a large rock.

This was her heaven. After a thousand years of flying through the sky, tormented by sad dreams of losing the ones close to her, she was finally able to land and have peace. Her soul continued to reincarnate, but at the same time, she was here.

This must be what they called a 'beach'. It was next to an enormously large puddle, so that must be the ocean, like Ryuuya-dono once said. Occasionally she saw fish swimming through it when she waded in and got her robes soggy.

They'd spoken about living near the ocean, right before her death. At that time it was a fantasy, meant to distract her from the approaching threat. To think that it was possible at all... Even if it was a shallower existence than life, it was far more real and fulfilling than living trapped in a shrine. Never again would she be caught in such a cage.

Character: Nathan Petrelli
Fandom: Heroes
Character Notes: He is coming into DDD from the current location/timeline of Claire Bennet. Viva Mexico!

History/Commentary on Nathan's Arc:

Raised into a family that had quite a reputation for being pretty high on the food chain, Nathan had aspirations of one day being the President. He was well on his way to starting his strong political career when a change in his brother's life forced him to admit things to himself that he had kept hidden for years. Nathan, like his brother (and unknown to him, at the time, - his Mother and Father), had an ability that set him apart from the rest of the human population. His ability was unique to him within his family - Flight, and it manifested when he was in a car accident with his wife, Heidi. Unlike the rest of his family, Nathan's ability was not natural born to him, but it was given to him through a serum that altered his DNA on a genetic level, giving him additional genetic traits that allowed him to develop an ability.

His ability manifested and he kept it hidden until his brother forced him to use it. From that point on, Nathan's life was tangled up in the mystery of how these abilities work, where they came from, and who else has them. He learns that his daughter and her mother have abilities and they too get tied up into the mess that is this conspiracy against people that want to expose these abilities.

It's a constant battle for Nathan of whether or not to do the right thing or the smart thing, and most times those two are interchangeable. He loses his brother and nearly dies trying to save him - which sends him on a downward spiral. He climbs out of the dark hole, wanting to prove to the world that there are different ways we can help and when he's about to expose abilities to the world he gets shot. He nearly dies again and this time when he's rescued from the brink of death (possibly actually dead) he's renewed with this new sense of worth and destiny. This changes again though, when he realizes that he's being manipulated by his own father, making him see things that aren't there and gaining his trust through nefarious means.

Nathan is always a pawn in someone else's game. The election, his isolation from his own family, his brother, his parents giving him an ability to test their plan, his father tricking him into his allegiance... it's always a horrible cycle that ends with Nathan finally deciding to do the right thing, on his own, and then feeling the horrible wrath for it. Usually - near death/death-like situations.

CONTINUED...

[identity profile] makethingsright.livejournal.com 2010-11-14 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
To sum up his history of four seasons, he was a Son, a Brother, a Potential-President, his brother's only hope, a drunk, a recluse, a motivated door-knocking shot-gun carrying bad-ass, someone ready to expose abilities to the world, Dead, a born-again re-motivated guy trying to prove that he had a higher purpose. He was a ring-leader, used to try and control all of the people with abilities (which didn't work out so well) and once he realized that was a bad plan, he was the fall-guy when the plan went south. So... he went South. Mexico to be exact. There he tried to win over his daughter, again, by proving that he wasn't exactly the dick that he'd been perceived as. That he could fix this (again) and make things right. That he could talk to the President and get them to stop this crazy Government squad that was taking all of the people with abilities. (Even though that was all his fault anyway.)

Of course, he gets this idea when he's drunk and when he's sober again, he realizes that he won't be able to pull that off. That he's just one man and no one will listen to him. Which doesn't seem to matter (in Heroes the focus always seems to shift to the Plot of the Week, so I'm not chaotic -- it is. :D ) They all plan to meet up and have a Petrelli Pow-Wow to discuss just how screwed up the world has gotten... again. While they are there, they realize that Nathan wasn't the only one to think about locking up all the people with abilities, and it seems history had repeated itself. They decide that they have to stop it in order to avoid another problem where too many people die. Only to find out that Sylar, as Nathan, has indeed gotten the chance to have that meeting with the President to listen to him and his "great plans" and that doesn't bode well at all. They all know that if Sylar gets to the President, he'll just kill him and then Sylar will be the President - which... not good.

Nathan and the Petrelli family rush to DC in order to try and stop Sylar from his plan unfolding. Nathan in an attempt to save his brother, again, takes the risk and flies with Sylar out of the room they are in. It's another time where Nathan has decided to make the right choice, but with horrible outcomes. The fight ends with Nathan's death.

General Personality Notes:

He's a charmer, which comes in handy with the politics and smoothing over problems. However, the charming doesn't always translate and he's not seen as someone that has the ability to be loyal to one particular person for a long time. The only person he does seem loyal to, almost throughout the entire series, is his brother - Peter and his daughter - Claire.

He's got an ego and a sense of humor about his ego. It's probably part of the charming, but it does tend to get him into trouble more times than not. In Mexico he tries to win money off of them by drinking. He's not exactly the same guy that was in the Navy as a pilot when he was younger, and his ego doesn't help him hold his booze.

He trusts others almost too easily, which usually leads to him getting taken advantage of. Despite always being taken advantage of, he doesn't seem to learn the lesson either - and just moves onto the next person to believe in.

He can be borderline obsessive about things that are important to him. When Peter is missing and believed dead, he refuses to believe that and falls into a deep alcoholic state as he tries to search for Peter.

He wants to do the good thing, the right thing, but he's so eager for that to be accepted that he often takes the first thing offered to him. The first suggestion given to him that sounds right, is often the one he runs with, even if there should be someone telling him to think about a different choice.

He seems to favor blondes, even though he married a brunette. My personal belief is that he married Heidi out of guilt and because she was "acceptable" as the wife of a President, more-so than someone like Meredith Gordon. The blondes are also nothing like his own mother, which is him trying to put distance between that sort of association, since that relationship is always bordering on unhealthy.

He's a good guy - he just has trouble picking what he should be supporting and figuring out who has his back.

Character: November 11 (a.k.a. Jack Simon, a.k.a. Mr. Smith, and probably a.k.a. a bunch more)
Fandom: Darker than Black
Character Notes:
History:
His real name is unknown. Anything about his life before ten years ago is unknown, with the exception of the fact that he is British. What is known is that ten years ago when the Gates appeared, he became a Contractor, with the ability to freeze any liquid he comes in contact with. He was either already working for or was subsequently recruited by the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), and given the code name November 11. He has certainly been working for MI6 for over five years, as he was in the Service before the Heaven's Gate incident, during the time that the woman codenamed February was working with them.

He has worked with fellow Contractor April, who can create rain, and the Doll July for a long enough time that they have become a fairly close team. He travels frequently on missions and assumes many covers, sometimes as a private citizen, sometimes under diplomatic cover. He is known as MI6's top agent.

It's likely that he's always hated smoking. Which makes the fact that he has to smoke as payment for using his powers all the more annoying.

I'd be starting him out a few months pre-canon.

November 11 2/3? (but then I am also enabling her, so)

[identity profile] tomakegodbleed.livejournal.com 2010-11-16 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Conventional wisdom holds that Contractors are purely rational beings, lacking in all emotion, interested only in themselves, and retaining what personalities they might have out of habit.

This is not entirely accurate.

It's true that Contractors loose most, if not all, of their emotions, frequently becoming extremely logical and self-interested. And November lives up to that, for the most part. He takes pride in being a Contractor. He makes rational decisions. He plans in order to gain the most from situations. He is loyal because it makes sense to exercise a certain amount of loyalty- it makes it easier to gain from the cooperation of those you are loyal to.

But over time Contractors can regain some emotion, some illogical or selfless motivations. Over time people you know well can become friends. November would say that he always acts on his own behalf, but he is growing capable of acting on behalf of those he is becoming close to. As for who he can become close to, it's mostly people whose intelligence and skills he can respect.

November himself is extremely intelligent and observant. He seldom enters a situation without a plan, and usually has a backup plan to go with that plan. He prepares for the worst, for example he'll expect people to go back on deals or for someone in another government to leak information. He is quick to put information together to form likely pictures of the whole, he's very good at figuring out what games and roles others are playing.

He is, as one might expect, capable of being extremely ruthless. If someone gets in the way of the mission, he'll kill them. If someone is likely to get in the way of the mission further down the line, he'll kill them. He displays no qualms about this, or about other things such as tying a person up and stuffing them in a box. It's part of getting the job done.

But in many ways he manages to come off as kind. He's quite polite, though he also has a tendency to assume a bit more familiarity than is appropriate. He'll be as helpful to others as the mission allows, and he'll avoid situations in which bystanders could be harmed whenever he can. He usually gets along well with people, and isn't suspected of being a Contractor until he uses his powers. This all makes sense to him as well, but it's done with a charming attitude and a nice little smile that can make others well-inclined.

...Of course, he'll also have that smile while killing people. So "kind" really isn't the best word for it.

In addition to slowly developing some deeper emotions, he has maintained a number of personality quirks. He hates smoking, and will tell you why in great detail. He also gets a little annoyed at people who take delight in their vices or who can enjoy their payment. Probably out of an interest in other peoples' reactions, he frequently makes deadpan black humor comments, which are as unappreciated as they are tasteless. He tries telling regular jokes as well, even going so far as to use one for a voicemail message. He can't pull it off. He likes salsa music, as reflected by his loud cell phone ringtone. He dresses for the role of top spy, in impeccable, stylish suits frequently accompanied by sunglasses.

Contractors are sometimes accused of being nothing more than weapons. November 11 may be one, but on his own terms.

Other:
If the situation calls for it, he has no problem being entirely without (http://baratijasblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/november11.jpg) that snappy suit (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2aTodPb8a-0/Sl6StlsjunI/AAAAAAAABKI/jlQDt5G7crg/s320/darker-than-black-vol4.jpg).

Fandom: Baccano!
Character Notes: Firo is immortal, and in a relationship with Ennis. I will be running down the timeline this time instead of jumping point to point. Firo is an expert in street fighting and knife combat.
History: Firo's father was Italian and his mother was American-English. Firo spent most of his youth in Manhattan's Italian slums, and at age 9 was orphaned. Firo lived on streets with Claire Stanfield, friends of the Gandor Brothers. One day the Martillo Family found him and he has been there ever since. Becoming an executive at 18, Firo's initiation was filled with ruckus. Dallas Geonard trying to kill him and Luck Gandor. Slizard trying to absorb Maiza, and Firo meeting the love of his life Ennis. Firo and Ennis have been together and married for awhile. Though they haven't really made any 'progress' till 2002.
Personality: He is shy amongst women normally Ennis. He isn't that smart at the start of the story, but after an event he becomes smarter in a way. He is streetwise though, just not booksmart. Firo is loyal, kind and gentle to his friends. Though he can be ruthless to his enemies.

Blaine 2/?

Character: Blaine [no last name]
Fandom: Glee
Character Notes:
History: We don't know much about Blaine yet, as he was just introduced to us last week. But I am apping him anyway because I am insane. He belongs to Dalton Academy's all boys school, and seems to be the leading voice of their Glee Club, "The Warblers." They're also McKinley High's Glee Club's like, #1 rival at sectionals. What we do know is that he used to go to public school, was tormented for being gay, and now goes to this ritzy fancy boarding school. Meaning his parents are rich and probably sympathetic. He's become Kurt's mentor, and best friend - usurping Mercedes and making her jealous with a capital J. Kurt has a framed picture of him in his locker, with the words "COURAGE" spelled out in magazine clippings underneath. He will most likely become Kurt's love interest which could cause drama being that they're competing against one another very shortly in canon here.
Personality: Blaine is very outgoing and of seemingly above-average intelligence. He enjoys all the typical gay stuff: showtunes, Lady Gaga, fashion, but he also has a much more masculine side than Kurt. He claims to follow football and he relates easily to the straight boys in The Warblers. He's very charming and pragmatic, and brave for also being the only out gay at his school. He loves to joke and sing, and he shows a penchant for helping people.
