Character: Donna Noble
Fandom: Doctor Who

Character Notes:
History: Donna was born in 1978 to Sylvia and Geoff Noble, a middle class couple living in the London area. As a child, she was renowned as a feisty force to be reckoned with. Her first day of primary school, she was in trouble for biting a boy who’d made a comment about her hair. Really, that set a precedent for Donna Noble in all the rest of her social interactions: adorable if you’re kind to her, but ready to take a literal or metaphorical snap at you if you rub her the wrong way.

Donna Noble | Doctor Who | 2/?

[identity profile] forevernoble.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Something else that was apparent in her childhood was her ability to take to patterns, systems, and schedules with ease. At the age of six, miffed that her mother wouldn’t take her on vacation or even give a good reason as to why she wasn’t going on vacation, Donna made her way to the local bus depot and managed to find a bus that would take her to Strathclyde, where her parents found her bothering a shopkeeper in Glasgow.

Other than spurts of mischief, trouble, and temper, Donna's childhood and adolescence was a pretty well "normal" one. Her greatest joy was having a date to prom – he told her afterwards he was gay – and her greatest heartbreak was losing her grandmother – and even that had the flip side of her doting grandfather moving in with her and her parents after that. After graduating high school, she took a course in business from a local community college while working full-time at her neighbourhood library. Following that graduation, she signed on with a temp agency, and that's been the bulk of her life ever since. Moving into a flat in the city, she lived with a roommate for a few years while they each took on assorted part-time secretarial jobs. On free evenings and weekends, bars and clubs were all the rage for the duo and their friends. After all, Donna was half-way through her twenties by now and, in her mind, far too old to still be single. Practically an old maid, really. While fairly good looks and a charming smile often gave good first impressions, follow-up dating was rare because of her admittedly strong personality. Her flatmate moved out to live with a boyfriend and Donna moved home to live with her parents and grandfather.

In June of 2007, Donna began working at H.C. Clements, a security company in central London secretly owned by the Torchwood Institute. Lance Bennet, head of Human Resources, made Donna a coffee on her first day. Considering she was only a temping secretary, Donna took this to mean all sorts of wonderful things. When he started making her coffee every day, their friendly work relationship, possibly pressured by Donna, turned into dating. After four and a half months, Donna had convinced herself he was The One, she was madly in love with him, and they had better get married before he decided she was too old or something ridiculous like that. The end of October was spent hint-dropping things about marriage and babies, while most of November was dedicated to Donna convincing Lance that they really ought to get married, since they were so perfect for each other. Of course, in any recounting of the tale of their courtship, Donna remained adamant that he was just so wooed by her that he had to marry her immediately. December was a whirl-wind month of joyous planning for Donna Noble-soon-to-be-Bennet, planning the wedding, reception, and honey moon. She suggested Christmas Eve as a date for their nuptials and, bemused, Lance went along.

Finally, the big day came. Donna and her father were halfway down the aisle when, poof, she disappeared in a glowing ball of light through the high-ceilinged church roof. She found herself standing on the flightdeck of the TARDIS, in the presence of one very glum and heartbroken Time Lord called the Doctor. Assuming she'd been somehow kidnapped, she shouted a bit before heading to the door. The TARDIS currently being parked in space, Donna was incredibly surprised to find not London outside, but the nebula created by a sun's recent death. While this lead credibility to this not being an office prank, Donna still believed herself to have been kidnapped and the Doctor spent some time trying to figure out just why she was there before she smacked him and ordered to be taken back to the church. The Doctor managed to park the TARDIS in London, but unfortunately nowhere near the church for the wedding Donna was now late to. As expected with Donna, quite a bit of telling-off ensued for this. Genuinely wanting to help (and likely wanting her out of his hair), the Doctor stepped off to get money from an ATM, only to turn around and find Donna had found a taxi cab that would accept payment upon arrival to the church.

Character: Rita Bennett
Fandom: Dexter (TV series)

Character Notes:

History:
 At the age of sixteen, Rita marries John Ackerman. Little is known aside from the fact that they divorced and Rita lies to Dexter when he subtly tries to question her about it later on in the series.
 At some point she meets, falls for, and later marries Paul Bennett. It’s around time her mother breaks off contact with her. She has two children by him; Astor and Cody. Their marriage is never solid as Paul is addicted to drugs and was said to have regularly beat and rape her.
 Finally one day her daughter Astor calls the police on her father, fearing for her mother’s life. Deborah Morgan responds to the call and is said to have saved Rita’s life that night.
 Deborah later sets them up on a date. It doesn’t go very well. Rita was late and Dexter quickly left in order to perform a kill. Despite this rocky start they continued to see each other and build a relationship.
 Six months into their relationship Dexter canon begins.
 Paul gets out of jail early due to overcrowding. He then begins to push his way back into Rita and the children’s lives.
 Rita eventually stands up to him and gets him to sign the divorce papers in exchange for supervised visits with the children.
 Things seem to be going well until Dexter’s biological father dies. Rita cancels a visit in order to go with Dexter to the man’s home and support. Paul is less than happy about this.
 Paul later shows up at the house drunk. Rita reluctantly lets him in. This turns out to be a bad idea since he attacks her. Rita defends herself and runs to the neighbor’s home.
 Paul uses this as an excuse to sue for custody.
 Just when it looks as though Rita may lose the case, Paul is found with drugs and is sent back to jail.
 Rita gets in a fight with Dexter over being honest with her kids about what their father really was.
 Rita visits Paul in jail sometime after her fight with Dexter. It seems Rita has taken Dexter’s words to heart as she encourages him to be honest with their children so that they could build a real relationship. Paul agrees and Rita allows him time with Astor and Cody.
 Paul later tries to argue his innocence. He calls Rita and his sponsor in hopes of trying to convince Rita that Dexter framed him. She blows him off and again urges him to take responsibility for his actions.
 At the end of season one, Rita finds a piece of evidence that brings some validity to Paul’s story.

Rita Bennett [Dexter] 2/?

[identity profile] hislostlover.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:

Rita is a woman trying to find her own strength. Her entire life she has never been in real control of what happens. This leads to her having very low self esteem. Since Rita has never gotten the chance to really make her own decisions, she was not able to have experiences that would give her confidence in herself. As a result, she spent most of her life believing she did not deserve good things. She accepted that people would treat her poorly and maybe to a point even expected to be mistreated because she was not good enough for anything else.

She slowly starts to come out of that way of thinking thanks to her relationship with Dexter and gaining custody of her children following her husband’s imprisonment. Winning custody sadly enough seems to be the first time she has really had any control over anything including her own children. Rita manages to handle this beautifully despite this being the first time really on her own. She holds a job and makes sure her children are well taken care of at the same time.

Even if it is a sham relationship at first (on Dexter’s part at first) it also starts adding to her growing confidence. She views Dexter as a good man. He treats both Rita and her children very well; notably much better than her husband Paul ever did. This introduces her to the idea that maybe she did deserve this wonderful man who was always there for her. We also see her relationship with Dexter reveal some flaws of Rita’s. Dexter, being as reliable as he is, becomes easy to depend on.

At times Rita loses sight of the fact that Dexter may have problems of his own to contend with and dumps all of hers onto him. On some level it seems like she forgets that Dexter can even have problems at all since he is something of a hero to her. There are also those issues involving control. Now that she has some of it, she is worried about losing it. At times she will nag at people when it is not entirely necessary just so she does not feel like she is being taken advantage of.

Despite her worries about being taken advantage of, she does prove to have a great deal of faith in people and can be someone you can rely on for moral support. For example when Dexter’s biological father dies she insists on going with him to see the body and look at the house he lives in because “she might need him”. It is the same when it comes to her children or friends. Astor’s bed wetting due to stress over her father’s return, Rita is does not yell or make a scene; just comforts Astor and changes the sheets. Finally when her friend’s fiancé went missing she immediately put her efforts into helping her find him (with Dexter’s help) and comforting her by just sitting out by the ocean with her worried friend. She is not entirely docile however. Rita is fiercely protective of her children and will not tolerate anyone speaking badly about Dexter (she defends him more than once in the show to other people).

To sum it up, Rita is a good, caring woman who needs a little more confidence and to depend less on her man.

Other:

If this app doesn't give you a hint already I am hoping to play Rita from season one of the show or alternatively have her be from Brian's world who is in that timeline. I would like to assure the mods that I have seen the entire series (minus five.... I'm still not over Rita's death okay?!) and would be more than happy to provide additional history if you feel it's necessary.

Hatter [Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland]

[identity profile] muchtoocrowded.livejournal.com 2011-01-18 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History:

-There's not too much that we know about Hatter pre-movie, but there are a few specifics. Firstly, he met Alice when she was seven years old and they became friends quickly. The March Hare was there too, but he's even madder than Hatter, so people tend to ignore him to save themselves the trouble.

-Secondly, Hatter was the White Queen's haberdasher (fancy word for hatter) and worked in her court.

-Thirdly, he was a member of the Hightopp Clan. When the White Queen, and therefore Hatter too, came to visit the village on their celebrations of Horevendush Day, the Jabberwocky attacked and wiped out the entire Clan. Hatter only survived because he was helping the White Queen escape. By the time he returned to the village, everyone was dead and the village was burned to the ground.

-Even before this point, Hatter wasn't entirely sane, but it's safe to assume that the annihilation of his people pushed him further off the deep end.

-And fourthly, the Hatter's real name is Tarrant Hightopp, but for the sake of keeping things simple, I'm just going to call him Hatter.

Movie:

-Hatter is first introduced in the movie slumbering through a tea party with Mallymkun the Dormouse and the March Hare. He wakes up just in time to see Alice and the Chesire Cat arrive. He's the first one to recognize Alice right off the bat as the “real” Alice.

-He loses control and almost gets violent with Ches, exhibiting his multiple personalities. Mallymkun snaps him out of it.

-Despite the Dormouse's protests that Alice is not Alice, Hatter believes she is and hides her away in a teapot when the Red Queen's minions show up to ruin the tea party. Naughty!

-The Red Knights eventually leave, led on a false trail by the bloodhound Bayard who is on the “good” side. Hatter takes Alice away to the White Queen's palace, Mamoreal. Along the way, Alice convinces him to tell her the story of what's happened to Underland. Hatter gets caught up in his flashbacks until Alice recollects him to the present.

-Then sad times come in the form of Bayard leading the Red Knights to them. Bayard really is a good guy, he just has a wife and pups to think of that the Red Queen is basically holding hostage. But anyway, Hatter and Alice are trapped with little time to react. Hatter, valuing Alice's safety above his own, sets her atop his hat and flings it across the river. He allows himself to be taken prisoner without protest while Alice watches.

-Alice is supposed to follow Hatter's directions and go to Mamoreal, but instead she decides to go save him from the Red Queen's castle, Crims (AKA Iracebeth or Salazen Grum). It's a good thing she does, too, because poor Hatter is being tortured for information on Alice's whereabouts by the Red Queen's right hand man, the Knave of Hearts (AKA Stayne).

-Since Hatter is adorably loyal like that, he doesn't crack at all, though it definitely takes a toll on him. Alice becomes the Queen's favorite because of her size, which is very large at that point, and is sitting in the throne room when Hatter is called in for questioning. He manages to distract the Queen by mentioning how much he would love to hat her. This earns him a little bit of freedom to do what he likes, working at his trade.

-Although Hatter is pleased to be back working, it's clear that he doesn't like being in Crims at all. When Alice comes to visit him, he throws a rather violent temper tantrum, kicking and throwing things until she calms him down.

Character: Katara
Fandom:Avatar: The Last Airbender
Character Notes:
History: Katara was born a Waterbender in a tiny southern Water Tribe. Despite the world being in crisis due to the attacking Fire Nation, she lived in relative peace until her mother was killed when Katara was eight. Four years later, her father left in an attempt to aid the struggling resistance against the invading forces of the Fire Nation. Katara spent her days cooking, cleaning, sewing, and occasionally going with Sokka, her brother, to fish for the village.

It was on one such excursion that she and Sokka discovered a boy trapped in an iceburg. Through the use of waterbending skills that were weak and clumsy at the very best, she managed to accidentally break the icy enclosure and free Aang, the Avatar who had been in stasis for a century. With the approval of their grandmother and the feeling that this was just the beginning to something much bigger, Katara and Sokka began on a journey to master the elements with Aang.

The three of them began a journey to the North Pole in hopes of finding a waterbending master to help Aang and Katara master their respective waterbending abilities. It wasn't a quick or easy trek. At both the Southern Air Temple and at an Earthbending village locked in a Fire Nation police state, Katara and friends again witness firsthand the cruelty and ruthlessness of their enemies.

The trip did nothing if bring the group closer together. Katara admired both Aang's resolve and his talent for airbending, even if she did experience a minor bout of jealousy when his natural aptitude for bending allowed him initially to pick up new techniques much more quickly than her. She saw a lot of both herself and her brother in the boy Avatar and welcomed him happily into their family.

It took some work, but upon arriving at the North Pole, Katara was able to convince the Master there to train both her and Aang. She ultimately excelled under his tutelage, surpassing the students she trained alongside with.

Not long after the group's arrival in the Northern Water Tribe, however, the Fire Nation launched an attack in an attempt to conquer what had been the untouchable settlement on the North Pole. With Aang's help, the Fire Nation was eventually defeated, with Katara named as the Avatar's new waterbending master.

When the three left the North Pole, Aang's search for an Earthbending teacher began. After a few hiccups with teachers that didn't really pan out, they eventually discovered a young, blind girl - Toph - who had mastered the art years ago. She joins the party, and after the initial relief of finding a competent Earthbender, Katara's emotions regarding Toph generally waffled between annoyance and sisterly affection.

[identity profile] milo1047.livejournal.com 2011-01-20 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Character: Rei Hino – Sailor Mars

Fandom: Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon - Anime

Character Notes:

History: Rei’s early history is not entirely exact. What is clear is that her mother died when she was younger and her father, a famous politician, caring more about his job than his daughter, dumped her with her grandfather at Hikawa Shrine. She grew up there, and gained a rapport with two crows at the temple, whose names are Phobos and Deimos. As she grew older, she became the miko or shrine maiden and began taking an active part in the care of the shrine. Her life, or so it seemed, was fairly normal.

In reality, however, Rei is the reincarnation of the princess of Mars, one of the Inner Senshi and a guardian of the Moon Princess, Usagi. Her identity as one of the Inner Senshi (but not as the Princess of Mars) was revealed to her by Usagi and Luna during an attack on a bus by one of the youma employed by the Dark Kingdom. She embraced her new role and goes to her new duties with gusto. Eventually, she is killed in the arctic by minions of Queen Beryl, sacrificing herself for Usagi along with the others, but is revived by the Silver Crystal and Usagi’s wish. She has no memory of her life as one of the Sailor Senshi until Earth is attacked by the aliens Eiru and An and the Senshi are called upon to defend the Earth and Princess Serenity again. After their defeat it seemed things might quiet down bit, but now a mysterious pink-haired girl by the same name as Usagi has arrived, searching for the Silver Crystal. And she's being pursued by an even more mysterious organization, the Dark Moon. Things are never simple for one of the Sailor Senshi, it seems.

Personality: Rei is, as one might expect for an avatar of Mars, a bit of a hothead. She has a quick temper and will unleash an acerbic tongue on anyone unfortunate enough to draw her ire. She is also stubborn, refusing to back down without a fight, and often gets into arguments with Usagi, her nominal leader.

When Usagi, Ami and Luna first approach Rei at the shrine regarding some mysterious disappearances, she is extremely reluctant to deal with them. She has been fairly isolated from people since she was a child, other than her grandfather, and tends to be a bit suspicious and untrusting at first glance. She tends to try and rely more on herself than anyone else, especially in the early part of the series. However, like all the other Senshi, she is extremely loyal, to Princess Serentiy/Usagi, perhaps even more so than the others due to the close relationship she has with her. Rei would (and does) die for Usagi without a thought. In the anime, she is also a bit more of a typical teenager in some ways, having a grasp on and interest in pop culture and music, as well as having dreams of becoming a pop star herself.

Other: With the powers granted to her as an Inner Senshi, Rei is able to transform into Sailor Mars, giving her greater physical abilities, as well as the power to shoot a fireball from her fingers when she shouts the words ‘Fire Soul.’ Further, in her ‘civilian’ form she has a few minor psychic abilities and is able to sense evil spirits as well as perform minor divination. She is also capable of performing exorcisms and binding evil spirits, part of her abilities as a miko.

First Person (entry type): Oh, this is just ridiculous. How many more Angels are going to come at us? This last one...well, this last one was really hard on poor Shinji. We had to take control of his Eva with the Dummy Plug and make him fight Touji's Unit 03. Bardiel, the Angel....he possessed it. He was using Unit 03 to attack Tokyo-3. We didn't have a choice, Shinji. I wish...I wish there was something I could say to help you now, but I don't know if you'd want to hear anything from me right now.

It's...it's understandable if you don't want to hear anything from me. Oh, damn it, what am I doing? I'm writing to Shinji. Writing an apology to Shinji he'll never read! This is...ugh, this is stupid. I have work to do.

Third Person:

Prompt: Confliction

This never got any easier. And Misato had long since stopped thinking that it would. She paced back and forth in the control room, watching as Shinji was loaded into Unit 01. He thought she didn't care. That she was just a cold administrator, ordering him to go off and fight. But he didn't know how hard this was, to order him out there to face beings that couldvery well destroy the world. She hated ordering all of them out there, but it was Shinji she felt the worst about. He was almost like a son to her. She wanted him to be safe, happy, unafraid, secure. All things she couldn't provide him with. She clenched one fist, watching as he synched with the Eva, all systems nominal...time to go out and fight for the future of the human race. She leaned over one of the control technicians to press the intercomm button.

“Get out there Shinji. Good luck.” Firm. She had to keep her voice firm and not look back. Silently, she prayed. Be safe, Shinji.

Character: Pollyanna Whittier
Fandom: Pollyanna, by Eleanor H. Porter. I’m going off the book, not the movie.
Character Notes:

History:
• Has lived all her life out west, in a small (nameless) town where her father was a missionary/minister.
• Mother died when she was young, and didn’t have a good relationship with the rest of her family because she didn’t marry the “right” man, in their eyes.
• Lived a life of relative poverty; most of her family’s possessions came from missionary’s barrels, which were full of old things no one else had any use for. She and her father lived in rented out rooms.
• After her mother’s death, the local Ladies Aid helped raise her and teach her “womanly” skills, such as sewing and cooking. Unfortunately, no one ever agreed on what was right because they all had their own methods and preferences. Once her father died, they became her primary caretakers, until her aunt agreed to take her in.
• Possibly the most important event of her childhood was the day that, instead of a doll, she got a pair of small crutches out of a missionary’s barrel. As a young child, she was upset about it, until her father tried to get her to look on the bright side of things—at least she didn’t need the crutches! That was the start of The Glad Game; the only thing you have to do to play is always look for the good in things, no matter how bad the situation may seem at first.

Pollyanna Whittier 2/2

[identity profile] xelccit.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 10:48 am (UTC)(link)
Personality: Pollyanna is the definitive eternal ball of sunshine. She’s extremely cheerful, friendly, and outgoing—and she has an odd habit of making even the most grouchy, miserly people content with life again. She always looks for the good in a situation, and has been doing it for so long that it’s practically second nature. She enjoys challenges (be it school, tall trees, or an especially tough situation to be glad about) and will take up any cause she considers to be good. Her father’s death was hard on her, but she faces it very well for an eleven year old—she knows that the angels in heaven needed her father more than she did, and that they’ll all get to see each other again someday, and that’s the gladdest thing she can think of.

Pollyanna is terrible at filtering her thoughts before speaking, and tends to talk freely about information that was told to her in confidence—or anything she’s ever heard in general. She’s easily influenced, and rather romantic about life; no one can do any wrong, ever, and everyone is just as kindhearted and loving as she imagines them to be. She’s very innocent, overall, but if she had a superpower, it would be winning over the hearts and minds of everyone she’s ever met.

Other: She’s impossible to punish because of the Glad Game; when told that she would be eating bread and milk in the kitchen for dinner with the maid, she was happy about it because she liked bread and milk, and she liked the maid. She will attempt to adopt any stray she comes across, and doesn’t just limit it to animals. One conversation with her will likely reveal everything from where she lives to what she had for breakfast six months ago. She has a dog named Buffy and a cat named Fluffy.

First Person (entry type):
It won’t be much longer until I meet Aunt Polly! I’ve already been on the train FOREVER, so we’ll HAVE to be there soon! I miss home already—and the Ladies Aid and practically everyone else—but I’m sure there will be so many wonderful things here. Lace and pictures and carpet and my aunt, of course, and maybe ice cream sundaes. Living in a REAL home, and not rented rooms…I can’t believe it!
Not that I didn’t love living with father, even in the rented rooms, and I know if he were still here he would agree with me and help me think of ALL the things to be glad about. I wonder if, maybe…Aunt Polly has pictures of Mother and Father when they were younger? Oh, I can’t think of anyone I’d like more than that!

Third Person:

“Fluffy? Fluffy, where are you?”

Pollyanna called out into the empty hallway, receiving nothing in return but the own dim echoes of her words. There were no hints to follow—no meows, no toys strewn across the floor, not even Buffy snorting around looking for the cat that he so loved to antagonize. But, Buffy wasn’t confined to the house like the poor girl—all because of sniffles, nothing IMPORTANT, but Aunt Polly said “stay inside” and had made Nancy swear that she wouldn’t allow Pollyanna to step foot outside. The loophole meant, of course, that she had free reign until Aunt Polly got back from the Ladies Aid meeting at the church, hopefully very late that afternoon.

The small cat had gone missing earlier that morning after one very violent sneeze—Pollyanna laughed aloud at the thought, remembering how high Fluffy had jumped before bolting out of the room with very un-kittenlike thuds along the way.

“I’m going to find you,” she said again to no one in particular, this time in a sing-song voice. “Just you wait!”

Character Notes:

History:

The blond-haired, grey-eyed Draco Malfoy was born to parents - Lucius and Narcissa (of the Black family) - of similar fair appearance on June 5th 1980. His family are what is called in the wizarding world 'purebloods', which means they can trace their ancestry as magical (witches and wizards) back far into the past. The Malfoys live in a manor in Wiltshire, England.

Draco had a very easy life, given everything he could want and lavished with new things every time he asked - and even when he didn't, so he was never wanting for material possessions. He did sometimes feel that he did not get enough personal attention even though his mother doted on him, it was his father he most wanted to impress and Lucius often gave the appearance of being critical or disappointed in his one and only son.

Lucius (and Draco) wanted Draco to be sent to the wizarding school of Durmstrang since they favour and teach the Dark Arts, whereas Hogwarts only teaches Defence of such but Narcissa objected, claiming it was too far away and so Draco was sent to Hogwarts at the age of eleven.

Lucius supported the dark wizard Voldemort when he was first in power and was one of his followers, known as Death Eaters. It is expected that Draco will also follow this path when Voldemort regains his power a second time, despite Lucius' actual reluctance to put his family in such danger again. Out of fear, however, this is what they feel that they must do.

Not too much is known about Draco's life pre-Hogwarts but Draco's school history is well known. Hogwarts at age eleven, an excellent student, near the top of all his classes, Quidditch Seeker, Slytherin prefect, wanna-be Death Eater.

But that is in the future. More of this information can be seen in the links below. In keeping with the others I've only written what is known of their pre-canon for this part since he'll be taken from pre-canon here, to fit in with the rest of his castmates of about his age.

History:

First some background on the game itself...

It begins in the Junkyard, where six tribes are locked in constant war with one another in an effort to reach Nirvana. Unbeknownst to the tribe members, however, the Junkyard is actually a virtual reality, and the people there are nothing more than AIs being used to test and compare battle strategies. The tribe that kills off all the other tribe leaders will be rewarded with admittance into Nirvana (later revealed as the 'real world'), where their data will be uploaded into real people to create super soldiers. The focus is on the Embryon, the newest tribe in the Junkyard.

In the beginning, everyone is essentially an emotionless killing machine, doing what they're programmed to do without question. It all changes when a strange, egg-like object shows up on the borders between the Embryon's and the Vanguards' territories. Both tribes investigate, each assuming the object is some sort of weapon placed there by the other. A battle begins, but it becomes apparent that neither side is responsible for the object, which suddenly opens and hits everyone in the vicinity with beams of light. Those affected are branded with unique Atma marks and transform into demons. The battle resumes, bloodier than before, and then everything goes black.

When the Embryon awaken, they find that the Vanguards have fled. Sleeping in a crater left behind by the object is a girl, whom the Embryon take back to their base. She tells them her name is Sera and that she doesn't remember anything, but she knows she's there to help them. Although hesitant, they don't immediately discount her claim and allow her to stay at the base.

Shortly after that, the Embryon's leader--Serph--is summoned to the Karma Temple, as are the leaders of the other tribes. There, the dissemination machine is hacked by someone calling herself Angel, who informs the leaders that their objective has changed. By now, they've realized that something is happening; tribe members are acting strangely, their emotions are becoming unstable, and they're able to turn into demons. Angel tells them that this is because of the Atma and that their new goal is to devour their all of their enemies and bring Sera to the Karma Temple. The tribe that completes this task will be allowed into Nirvana and achieve eternal paradise.

During the first part of the game, we don't see much of Cielo, as he is tasked with watching over Sera while Serph, Heat, and Argilla work on overtaking other tribes by forming an alliance with the Maribel. At one point his comrade, Gale, is overcome by the Atma virus' desire for flesh and attacks Cielo, only able to be stopped by Sera's soothing song. From then on, Cielo is grateful to Sera for saving his life and vows to protect her.

Later, the Embryon and Maribel are betrayed by one of the Maribel's own, who decided to side with the bigger, stronger Solids tribe. At this time, the Solids' leader, Mick, launches an attack on the Embryon base, abducting Sera and leaving Cielo alive to lure the Embryon to Coordinate 136. Having failed to protect Sera, Cielo's emotions fully awaken, and he insists on coming along in order to redeem himself, but he's turned down due to his injuries and is essentially put under house arrest at the base. He's able to escape with the help of a cat that keeps mysteriously appearing throughout the Junkyard, and he joins the group just in time to save Sera from falling from the top of the Destiny Land castle at Coordinate 136. The group then defeats Mick and moves Sera to a new base.

All of this leads up to the Embryon having a showdown with Varin, the leader of the Brutes and the last tribe standing between them and Nirvana. However, the Brutes' base is a mansion that sparks some nostalgia within Serph, Heat, Argilla, and Cielo. They recognize it as Sera's home and realize that they've been there before.

Are you at least 15?: Yes yes yes~
Current Characters: Harry Potter. Zim. Jack Sparrow

Character: Spock. His full name is too complicated for you humans.
Fandom: Star Trek (XI)
Character Notes:
History:
► Born in 2230 to the Vulcan Ambassador to Earth, Sarek, and Amanda Grayson, a human, in 2230 in the city of Shi'Kahr on the planet Vulcan. Due to being half-human, Spock was bullied by his peers during childhood. On one occasion a schoolmate called his father a traitor and his mother a 'human whore.' Spock lost emotional control in reaction and, in fit of rage beat the crap out of that schoolmate and scared the ones that were with him so much that they didn't dare try to stop him.
► He completed his advanced training aka crazy Vulcan schooling and applied to both the Vulcan Science Academy, where he would consider completing the Vulcan ritual of purging all emotion, Starfleet Academy. He was admitted to the Vulcan Science Academy but refused because they called being half-human a disadvantage. Live long and prosper bitch.
► So! He attended Starfleet Academy and becomes one of its most distinguished graduates. He acted as an instructor there and programmed the Kobayashi Maru scenario, a test that puts the participants in a no-win scenario. He also gained the rank of commander.
► Kirk cheated on the Kobayashi test. Spock isn't happy and tells the Academy board and gets Kirk in trouble. He also tells Kirk he entirely missed the point of the test and points it out while in front of everyone thus making the greatest first impression ever. He might've got Kirk in more trouble but that lovely meeting was cut short by a distress call from Vulcan being received. Starfleet has to send out ships to help!
► Spock was in charge of starship assignments for the cadets. Look he got Uhura on the ship! Okay anyway-- so he reports to the USS Enterprise as Captain Pike's first officer. While heading to Vulcan Kirk (who totally got snuck on), Bones and Uhura ran all up into the bridge. Spock is not happy again and didn't believe Kirk when he said the Vulcan signal was because of attacking Romulans ...until Uhura vouched. 'Course she's right. He agreed Kirk made sense and Pike had to put those shields up and prepare before getting out of warp-- which is good because Kirk was right that Romulans were attacking.

Spock || Star Trek XI || 2/?

[identity profile] chicken-dance.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
► Nero on the Narada-- who destroyed the other 7 Starfleet ships that arrived and currently attacking the planet with a giant drill-- ...drilling. They got in contact with Nero and Nero knew who Spock was because Nero has serious beef with Spock from a now alternate future. (Alternate because Nero showing up changed the timeline). He's mad at Spock, who he never met, because he blames Future-Spock for the alternate timeline's future-destruction of Romulus because that makes perfect sense. He asks for Pike to come aboard his ship. Pike gives the position of Captain to Spock while he's gone and promotes Kirk to First officer. Once again Spock is not happy but no time to worry about that. Nero's plans became known after Sulu, Kirk, and a now-dead red shirt went down to disable the drill. He was gone to form a black hole inside Vulcan using red matter he stole from Future-Spock. Spock gets himself beamed down to the planet and attempts to rescue his mother, his father, and the elders. His mother doesn't manage to get beamed up. The planet is destroyed with her and billions on it.
► He decides the ship should meet up with the rest of the fleet to which Kirk strongly objects to. Spock is SO VERY not happy so he silences Kirk with a Vulcan nerve pinch and orders him thrown off the ship. Kirk ends up on Delta Vega which just happens to be the same planet Future-Spock is on and Scotty.
► Scotty and Kirk beam themselves up on the ship while it's in warp drive which surprises the heck out of Spock and makes him not happy again. Kirk, acting on orders from Future-Spock, attempted to prove Spock was emotionally compromised and shouldn't be in command. All attempts were unsuccessful until Kirk mentioned Spock's mother. He loves his mom okay? Spock snapped and attacked Kirk and came close to killing choking him to death. He was stopped by his father, realized he was in fact emotionally compromised, and stepped down as Captain which left Kirk in command.
► Nero wants to destroy Earth now. Yikes. Chekov formulated a plan to hide the ship in the planet’s atmosphere and Spock endorsed it. Spock volunteered to beam onto the Narada in a possibly suicidal mission, determine a way to destroy the vessel-- because of the similarities between Vulcans and Romulans and possibly rescue Pike. Kirk agreed and decided to go with him. They got aboard the ship, had a phaser fight, located Future-Spock's ship and Pike. Kirk went on to save Pike. Spock left with the ship and destroyed the drill and then crashed that ship full of red matter into the Narada. They both got beamed back just in time because Scotty is smooth like that. EARTH IS SAVED!
► On Earth, he runs into Future-Spock who convinces him not to leave the Enterprise crew and explained why he didn't just tell his past self what the heck was going on. It's because Kirk and Spock needed to do teamwork to be BFFs. ...No really.
► Spock currently serves as the Enterprise's First Officer.

Personality:
Spock has a personality. He does. It's just mostly hidden under an intense Vulcan cool. His absence of emotion is not meant to be rude at all and it doesn't mean he couldn't care less about you or what's going on. It's a Vulcan thing. Vulcan's repress emotions as they view them illogical and unneeded as they get in the way of reason. Spock, being half-Vulcan, doesn't exactly share the same view that emotions are 100% unnecessary but will still act primarily on logic a majority of the time.

Under that extreme poker face is boiling emotions and layered-personality Spock rarely lets people see. He wouldn't be having all those fisticuffs with Kirk or making out with Uhura in an elevator if he didn't feel anything. He's not smiling on the outside but he might be laughing on the inside at you. He's capable of friendship (his Future-Self is so very fond of mentioning Kirk. What a bromance) and affection. He also has sense of humor that might be hard to read but very much there and can develop a fondness of things. I'm pretty sure he quotes Sherlock Holmes in the movie and if TOS is anything to go by-- it's probably because he's probably read those books.

Britt Reid 2/4

[identity profile] lovedthemoon.livejournal.com 2011-01-22 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Character: Britt Reid
Fandom: The Green Hornet (2011)
Character Notes:
History: Britt Reid is the sole heir of Daily Sentinel founder, James Reid. He inherits his father's newspaper company after his father dies of a mysterious bee-sting. Having partied and mooched off his father's success his whole life, he now has to determine what it is to be a responsible adult. Returning home, he fires his father's entire staff except for the maid. But upon waking up, he discovers a horrible truth: his coffee is all wrong. The maid informs him that's because he fired Kato, his father's mechanic, who also made the coffee. He immediately calls Kato and rehires him when he meets the man. Kato shows him all the cars in the garage and how he modified them. Britt and Kato get drunk and decide to steal the head off James's commemorative statue.

When they arrive, there's a mugging going on, and Britt tries to step in. But he's soon overpowered and is in deep trouble until Kato comes to save him. It's then Britt finds out that Kato is a martial arts expert, in addition his asset as a barista. When they return to the mansion, Britt theorizes that they could do this - they could become masked heroes. But they would do differently is appear as criminals to throw the bad guys off. This causes the law enforcement to hunt them too, but it's the best way to help, Britt determines. The next day, Britt goes to his father's newspaper and tells them to cover the story of the thugs in the park. They call the "criminal" the Green Hornet (a play on the green surveillance footage and the fact that his father was killed by a bee).

Britt has his new secretary research "What the Green Hornet Will Do Next" and uses it as a gameplan. As The Green Hornet draws more media coverage, D.A. Frank Scanlon starts to get nervous. The more crime is covered the worse he looks, as he was supposed to be cleaning up the streets. And with reelection in the near future, he tries to bribe Britt. Britt refuses, saying his father would never allow such a thing. But Scanlon implies that he has the wrong idea about the nature of his and his father's relationship. Upon further research, he gleans that his father did stop printing things about violent crime. And he loses faith in his father's memory, and himself.

Kato and he have a falling out, and crime is on the rise again. Chudnofsky, the sole crime leader in all of L.A., decides to become Bloodnofsky in order to stay hip. Scanlon, working with Chudnofsky, hires the Green Hornet to kill Britt, or. Attempts to. But seeing as the Green Hornet is Britt, he gets a hold of Kato instead. Kato agrees, and when Britt again refuses to join Scanlon in downplaying hard crime, Kato appears with a gun. It is revealed here that D.A. Scanlon murdered his father by administering epitoxin, which is basically the chemical form of a beesting. Just when Britt thinks all hope is lost, Kato tells him all is forgiven, and turns the gun on Scanlon. Before Kato can shoot, Britt hits the D.A. and they escape.

Britt, having thought he had voice-recorded Scanlon through the whole conversation, goes with Kato to the Daily Sentinel to upload the recording and ruin Scanlon for good. Against all odds, and an endless slew of Chudnofsky's men, he discovers that his drive didn't record anything and all of this was for nought. He gets shot in the shoulder by the Swat team, and Kato drives The Black Beauty (their equivalent of the Batmobile) into Scanlon and out the window. They pull ejector seats, and Scanlon is killed.

Because he can't go the hospital, lest his identity be revealed, he holds a press conference about D.A.Scanlon's tragic death. Kato crashes it and pretends to shoot him in the shoulder.

Britt wakes Kato up and declares they must go on "their most important mission yet." This is, of course, to put his father's statue head back on his statue body.

Character: Gu Mi Ho
Fandom: My Girlfriend is a Nine-tailed Fox; 내 여자친구는 구미호 (Nae Yeojachinguneun Gumiho)
Character Notes:
History:
Five hundred years ago there was a nine-tailed fox. This fox took human form and was so beautiful that all the men forgot to work when they saw her. The women of the village were so enraged that they prayed to the Three Gods Grandmother to fix things. The Three Gods Grandmother (Also known as Grandmother Samshin, which can be interpreted as a mountain god/spirit) decided to try and marry the fox off thinking that might fix the situation.

However, the women of the village, not wanting to give up their husbands or their sons to marry a fox, spread a rumor that the kumiho would eat the liver of whoever married her. Left with no other option, the Three Gods Grandmother stole the fox’s tails and sealed her away in a painting where she stayed until she tricked Cha Dae Woong into freeing her. In exchange for being freed, the fox gave him her foxbead (the source of her power) to keep him alive when he sustained serious injuries trying to flee from her.

Personality:
Being sealed away in a painting for five hundred years has left Mi Ho with a very limited understanding of the human world (Not that she understood things all that well before). She is very curious about the world, and does her best to keep to keep a chipper outlook going. Mi Ho is more than a little naïve, and childish. She demands food sometimes and pouts when denied. As with early gumiho lore, she trusts people immediately because she doesn’t know any better.

However, this does not mean she is just a bundle of sunshine and hope. Sometimes hurt feelings and her temper make her say or do things that she immediately regrets. Throughout the series she’s lies (first for selfish reasons, and then later for selfless ones) to try and manipulate a situation in her favor (or Dae Woong’s favor.) Her favorite bargaining chip with Dae Woong is the foxbead itself.

She desperately wishes to become human. It's a motivation that later changes into her wishing to become human for Dae Woong as she slowly falls in love with him.

Other:
Unlike the newer stories of gumiho/kumiho, Mi Ho does not eat livers. She does have a heightened sense of smell and reflexes, and she has super strength and speed. She’s no Flash, but she can definitely outrun any human.

Her power seems to be divided equally between the foxbead and her nine tails. So, if she loses the bead, she loses half her power.

Under the new moon, her tails come out.

Her eyes turn bright blue when she begins reverting to her fox body or uses her powers.

Water weakens her because she can’t feel the chi of the land when surrounded by it. Because of this it also terrifies her, and she will panic so much if trapped on a boat that she will begin to revert to her fox form.

First Person (entry type):
[The laptop drops and Mi Ho accidentally activates the speech to text program as she picks it up. It appears as Hangul.] Ah! No, no, no. Dae Woong will be angry again if -- it’s writing. How is it writing? You don’t have a brush. Human things are so odd.

Stop writing now, book. Dae Woong won’t like me writing so much on his parchment. If he has to buy more we won’t have money for meat! I wanted cow tonight too. [There’s a few nonsensical characters as she leans in close to sniff the laptop.] I don’t even smell ink. Books must have changed too. Aish*! No, book, what are you doing now? Stop. Stop. Please stop. You can’t …duck? Show me a cow instead. Hey, book, show me a cow. I want cow. Fine, Dae Woong can bring me cow and you can keep your ducks.

Third Person:
The trouble with trying to be human was that it required you to act like a human. Mi Ho couldn’t show how strong she was, she couldn’t run as fast as she was able. It was especially frustrating when Dae Woong refused to let her use abilities that came naturally to her so she would seem more human and then specifically tell her she wasn’t human. Mi Ho didn’t know what to think of that contradiction.

Dae Woong also rarely left her alone, which was why she was waiting as patiently as she was able outside his university. He’d said only people were allowed inside, so she’d sighed and made her way to the bench outside.

The campus was full of scholars with their packs that they carried books in. She wasn’t sure what the books were about because Dae Woong only let her see the one and it was written in a language she didn’t understand, but one day she would get to read them. Humans read books, and she was determined to be human. Mi Ho already had a name, and a friend, so she felt she was on her way.

“Mi Ho!” Her head popped up. Dae Woong was still a ways off, but her hearing was better than most people’s. She jumped to her feet, happily trotting over to him. He never looked too happy to see her, but that was just because she kept threatening to eat his liver.

“Dae Woong!” Mi Ho grabbed his hand, which he promptly yanked away. One day, he wouldn’t do that either. When she became a human, he would hold her hand and they would be real friends. Until then, she just had to keep him close. Mi Ho pouted for a moment then quickly recovered. “Can we go eat now?”

Current Characters: None, the player formerly known as Rock Lee/The Daleks/Bart Allen

Character: Motorbaby
Fandom: Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys

Character Notes:
History: Not much is known about the past lives of the Killjoys. They exist as a band of outlaws in a quasi-postapocalyptic 2019 California, in the dangerous desert "Zones" surrounding Battery City, a metropolis controlled by the nefarious Better Living Industries, BLI/Ind. Operating out of a defunct diner/filling station, they recieve guidance from pirate radio DJ Dr. Death Defying and his assistant, Show Pony. Operating under code names and intense pursuit from Korse, one of the cyborg agents of BL/ind, and his Draculoid minions, they run interference missions for those suffering under BL/ind's forcible, heavily-medicated utopian rule. Motorbaby is the youngest of the group by at least a decade (age from anywhere between 8-10 years old), and is looked after by the rest of the Killjoys as their own daughter, as well as a member of the gang.
As of current canon, Motorbaby was kidnapped by the agents of Korse and the Draculoids. The Killjoys stormed BL/ind to rescue her, and perished to a man attempting to escape. Motorbaby herself made it out, and was picked up by Dr. Death Defying and his crew.
Personality: Cheerful, fond of rocket launchers, and a devious hacker of vending machines and sundry technology, Motorbaby is the heart of the Killjoy crew. No one stays innocent for long in a world ruled by BL/ind, but Motorbaby retains something of a battered sense of hope for the future, and a sentimental attachment to her giant robot doll. She also rocks an impressive 'fro, and is rarely seen without her weapon of choice, a chalk-covered portable radio.
Other: Motorbaby is taken from pre-kidnapping and rescue mission. So, everyone's still alive, running around the zones and shootin' things.

First Person (entry type): It was quiet in the Zones today: Party Poison says most of the Dracs are laying low until the shredderdust storm passes, and if they aren’t, then the ones that make it this far out from the city won’t be in a condition to do us much of harm, anyhow. He’s prolly right, but I still get scared when he and Jet Star don’t come back from checking on the shelter where we hid the trans am last week. I know we have to be out here to get Dr. D’s shipment, but I just want to be back at base. The reception out here sucks, there’s no air in the hideaway cave when the storm is blowing, and Fun Ghoul keeps trying to pretend there are ghost dracs in the lower parts of the cave, which is dumb; Party Poison says ghosts only come back to see you if they were someone you loved a real whole lot, like the mailbox ghosts. We leave them flowers and they look after us and keep the Dracs off our tail. If I don’t go down to the lower parts it’s cause it’s dark down there and there isn’t any reception at all, not because of any stupid ghosts. I’ve got to be ready to hear Dr. D if he puts out the signal again. They’re counting on me.

Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys : Motorbaby (2/2)

[identity profile] immelmanturn.livejournal.com 2011-01-24 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Third Person: Motorbaby knows it’s stupid, but every time the guys go out without her she gets scared. She’s nearly big enough to have her own blaster, she’s not supposed to still do kid things like cry. The guys are the best in the Zones, they’re the Fabulous Killjoys after all, even if Fun Ghoul always laughs like something hurts when she calls them that. They’ll come back, and they’ll have five drac masks each thrown in the back and more of their white blasters for her to color up like rainbows and Kobra Kid’ll ruffle her hair and give her his secret smile like he does when she’s been good and she’ll tell them what Dr. D said about the next shipment and when the next Mad Gear and Missile Kid show is, and can they go please please please?

She bets Fun Ghoul will take her, even if they have to sneak in disguised as Skele Khans again. She still has her bone face mask, and the tight hood they used to pin her hair down. They almost got caught when it got ripped off by the crowd, but once the music kicked in nobody cared who they were or how they got there. Nobody cared about fighting for a whole hour. Then the Dracs came busting in and they had to beat it, but they sang the old songs all the way home, even if she had to stop using the bad words in FTWWW once they met up with Party Poison. Fun Ghoul’s okay with her cursing, but it bothers Party, so she tries not to, for him.

She drags her radio out from behind the spare toolbox and snaps the new batteries Jet Star scavenged for her into place. Normally she can just hack any of the vending machines they pass, they haven’t started changing the locking combos for this month yet, and it’s easy peasy beany pie to pop them open, but she snapped one of the Vend-A-Hack’s cords, and Kobra hasn’t found her a new one yet.

Scanning the usual bands, she doesn’t hear any news about the guys, which is good, ‘cause if Korse found them he’d want it on all the pirate stations, just to show he’d taken them down and out for good. Not like that’s ever going to happen, but thinking that way gets her scared again, so she grabs Mr. Shogun with one arm, and spins the dial furiously until she gets to Dr. D’s channel. He’s just spinning some old Mad Gear tracks, nothing she knows really well, but it helps with cramming stupid threatening tears back in her eyes.

She’s still curled up with the radio, polishing Mr. Shogun’s backplate, when she hears the trans am pull up outside, crunching wheels almost drowned out by Fun Ghoul’s war whoop. Party Poison says that’s not a very smart way to make sure she knows it’s them, what if some Dracs heard him do it one day, but she knows there’s no Drac ever who could make that sound. They don’t have the guts for it, or the laughter he always breaks into at the end. She barks her head on the worktable jumping up, and nearly knocks over the bean cans running to the front windows, but she can’t care right now. The gang’s all here.

Character Notes:
History:Well it all started when Nappa was born. Wait not that far back? My bad. Alright it started when Nappa came out of Saiyan University after completing his Child Psychology program. Altho most of the children became mentally scared after that, Nappa can be scary at times.

Anyway after he completed college and given the best ratings of his generation could ever hope for, he was moved out of the University as quick as possible, most likely they just wanted him to leave right away after all he has done. However times were hard back then and few jobs were left open for Nappa. After what he did, not surprising, no one hired Nappa and he spent most of the times in bars, drinking his sorrows away like any manly man would or so he says, and taking is problems out on others. Killing thousands and learning the ways of a true Sayian warrior, well he already knew how to fight in school. Don't want to go into the details.

But one night during his time at a random bar he had to sell his shirt just to be able to buy the next beer and a gay man noticed him. Quickly before Nappa knew it offered him a job as a model. No nothing happened to Nappa, but I have no dought he tried to make something happen, the gay guy that is.

Soon he became a star, well known across all of the planets and stars as being one of the most successful Models ever to be born. Making Millions every day and Nappa had thousand of reviewers over his career and touched the heart of thousands with his stories. Not sure what stories he was talking about but I rather not know. But one day his modeling career would end when Freeza blew up the planet where his boss was on, or Nappa thinks a rock fell on his planet. But once again he was out of the job, but not for long. The worlds Strongest Sayian came to me, seeking his aid to take care of his child, to train him to become a powerful warrior. Poor Vetega...

And thats the day when Nappa met him, Vetega. He wasn't very happy with Nappa, but then again when I have been neglected by my mother and father for all my life I would be the same, but thats beside the point. Vetega was a child with such potential could become the greatest Sayian to ever live and he did, in the next 5 minuets. Another accident happened when a giant rock feel on our home world AKA Freeze blew up the planet. Tho the two seem to have took it pretty well and seemed to be even happy about it, they went to get Ice Cream after all. Sayians...scary people. And you know the rest"

Personality: Childish in many ways, but very optimistic

Other: Nappa was always meant to be at Vetega's side but suddenly got separated from him out of the blue and without a clue of how it happen he is making his back to him. Entering in all sorts of worlds in order to make his way back to Vegeta. So he came here thinking that Vegeta might be here as well

First Person (entry type): "Vegeta...Vegeta...OH COME ON VEGETA We've been playing this game for too long now I wanna go home. Oh wait that was destroyed by that giant rock. Oh well these things happen"

"Hum...I wonder what game we'll play next. Maybe I just look around here and maybe some one can help me find Vetega, that way I can win the game even faster"

Third Person: Nappa continued to travel around the lands looking for his long lost partner or more he looking to be found, either way he's lost. Coming across a strange usual portal like thing that seem to lead into a strange and unusual people. "hum I wonder if Vegeta is there" Nappa said looking towards the portal in a curious manner. Nappa stuck is head inside the portal looking inside "yoooohooo Vetega are you in here?" The people stare at Nappa when he popped his head out of the unknown. But Nappa had no idea this was a one way trip. "Well then maybe he's hiding in here I bet I will find him then" Nappa steps through the portal and sees around him the locals but not surprised nor shocked. Nappa spoke to one of them "hello young miss have you seen a guy about half my size, black hair that sticks up straight up high into the sky like he had a hair jell accident?" The woman simple asked "which one" pointing towards all the other characters that had crazy hair styles, maybe even crazier then the characters of the DBZ world.

Personality:
•If Mercedes is considered a diva, Rachel could only be called the grandmother of them all.
•Overbearing, hyperactive, self-involved, egotistical and shrewd,
•Often comes off as one of the more annoying girls in the Glee Club, something all the other members have said at one point or another.
•Since supposedly winning her first competition while still in diapers, Rachel's one true desire is to become a famous singing star and she has spent every moment of her life, (obsessively) going for that goal.
•So energized by her ambition that she often speaks at quick pace
•Rachel can also be manipulative in her actions, (such as getting the previous glee teacher fired when she didn't get a solo and using the fact that she has two gay dads, connection to the civil rights union to force a business to get Finn hired for a waiting job.)
•Ironically, has difficulty seeing when other people are manipulating her,( such as when Kurt gave her bad advice to gain Finn's attention.)
•Easily angered for not getting her way, and sometimes will leave the room with a dramatic exit. (Though, as Artie once pointed out, they get less dramatic every time she does it)
•She is not a bad person.
•Deep down, like so many other teens, wishes to be loved and to have friends.
•When others are hurting or feeling rejected, Rachel often is willing to come to their side and offer them help, (even if the manner in which she does it is less than smooth, such as offering Quinn her support and friendship when she found out she was pregnant and was kicked off the Cheerleading team,) despite all the years of emotional torment.
•Rachel is a vegan.
•Rachel's romantic feelings towards certain people, like her core personality, can be in a way scary.
•Upon meeting and singing with Finn for the first time, she became swooned, causing Finn to become obviously fearful for his safety as she sang to him. However, despite her overbearing nature, Finn found himself attracted to her "Swim Fan" personality.
•Also became attracted to Will Shuster at one point, after they sang a duet ballad together, and like Finn, Will became afraid, but for very different reasons.
•The only person who has not shown fear to Rachel's romantic advances was Jesse St. James, who not only welcomed the advances, but returned them, due to their similar personalities.
•He even admitted to being in-love with Rachel, which Rachel admitted in return, after only knowing him for a few days.
•It was later revealed that Jesse was trying to reconnect Rachel and her mother, making it unclear how much of their relationship was real and how much was part of his plot (though it is hinted at that Jesse genuinely cared for Rachel).
•It is discovered that her mother is Shelby Corcoran, the coach of their rival show choir, Vocal Adrenilaine.
•Her mother realizes how much she missed in Rachel's life, and how hard it was trying to continue a relationship that never existed, and decides it was best that they not continue seeing each other.
•Despite Rachel's personality, the members of New Directions care about her.
•When Jesse cracked an egg on her head, the members were furious and threatened to rip his face off.
•She has been trying to improve her personality.
•She lets Sam win, but as Finn pointed out it was, in way, for personal reasons.
•This continues as she offers Kurt some support and invites him to do a duet with her.
•In Special Education, she helps him try for a solo at Dalton Academy, and offers him support during the Dalton Academy Warblers' performance, encouraging him to smile and gives him appalause

[identity profile] primulae.livejournal.com 2011-01-25 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:

History: Hibana's upbringing was not ideal, to say the least. Raised by a (literally) insane mother, her childhood was warped right from the beginning. It's hard to tell what Hibana's mother's goal was, but whatever it was, it involved attempting to morph her daughter into the perfect lady.

This was achieved not only through etiquette lessons and a good education but torture and abuse both physical and psychological. Hibana was, to put it simply, not allowed to make mistakes, no matter how large or small. Wetting the bed would earn her a world of pain; throwing up would invite even worse punishment. All of this Hibana took quietly and even with gratitude; her mother was helping her. And so it was in that way that Hibana was conditioned to deal with horrific amounts of pain, often in bizarre ways- her mother utilized old-fashioned and long-forgotten torture techniques, the names and methods of which are still memorized by Hibana to this day. Hibana was made to endure great amounts of pain until she could no longer feel it at all. In that way, she would finally be able to become perfect.

But then something happened that Hibana didn't understand. She came home one day to see her mother hanging from the ceiling with a rope around her neck. Confused, she carried on with her life, taking herself to and from school and coming home to talk to a swiftly-rotting corpse. It isn't quite clear how long Hibana carried on like this with no one the wiser, but it was long enough for her mother's corpse to reduce to an almost skeletal state. This is a good indication that Hibana has no surviving family, because nobody noticed what had happened. Hibana continued to 'hear' her mother speaking to her long after she was dead- it seems that she still does not perceive that her mother had actually died.

However, though her mother was gone, her influence had long ago deeply affected Hibana. When a little boy in her class flipped her skirt, she swiftly decided to 'punish' him for the embarrassment he had caused her. She dismembered and buried him in the garden in front of her school. She hadn't done a good job of hiding his body, though, and it was discovered quickly. When she was confronted, Hibana was confused; hadn't she done a good thing? She punished the boy for being naughty. She was soon after put in Japan's only publicly operative prison, Deadman Wonderland.

It was not long after that that Hibana was selected for something special. She would be removed from death row if she could withstand the trials of joining the prison's elite security team- Undertaker. The prison hid many secrets, the most important one being the presence of a secret underground level keeping people known as Deadmen. These Deadmen were given the ability to control their blood after the Great Tokyo Earthquake. This ability made them just as dangerous as they were useful, though, and the assistant warden of the prison, Tamaki Tsunenaga, found the need for a specialized team to control them when things got too rough. Hibana was selected from a pool of the hardest criminals; even of these, not many survived the 'training' to become an Undertaker. This training is implied to have been more like torture, where the 'recruits' were either to die or endure. But torture was nothing new to Hibana, and she flew through the requirements with flying colours.

Hibana had finally found her niche. She made for a perfect Undertaker, concerned with perfection, order, and rules. She had no qualms about 'punishing' the bad little 'birds' (all Deadmen are given a bird designation for a codename), because in her mind, she was helping. Like other Undertakers, Hibana was also given a sword with the ability to negate the power of any Branch of Sin (the Deadmen's power) it touched. She soon settled into a routine of homework and Undertaker work, and she soon escalated to the position of third squad leader.

As of the point Hibana is being taken from, she has been in prison for about a year and a half and is seven years old now. She is somehow able to maintain her education and is in second grade. Much of her time is dedicated to homework, and, for a little girl living in prison, Hibana is alarmingly happy with her life.

Lois Lane | Smallville | Re-app

[identity profile] loisfuckinglane.livejournal.com 2011-01-28 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History!

Note:  Lois doesn't have a ton of pre-canon history on the show, so this is... absolutely everything I can glean from the show, as well as plugging in her mom's accepted name from the comics.

♣  Lois' early life was spent traveling from one army base to another, because of her father, General Sam Lane.  As an army brat, she got to see a lot of the world, but never made a lot of lasting connections.

♣  Her mother, Ella, died of lung cancer when she was only six years old.  With her father's position in the military, this left Lois to more or less raise her younger sister, Lucy, on her own.  Because she spent more time being a mother than a sister to her, Lucy was often resentful towards Lois, and tended to rebel against her.  Lois herself was forced to grow into the responsibility of this role quickly, and as such, never had much of a childhood of her own.  She remained incredibly protective of her sister all through their lives, and her father held Lois responsible for Lucy's behavioral issues.

♣  While in elementary school, Lois met Wes Keenan, and they had a brief childhood romance.  He was her first kiss.

♣  Eventually, her father sent Lucy off to boarding school, because of her behavior problems.  Lois, on the other hand, had to stay with him, and continued to travel from base to base.

♣  Lois switched schools so much that she never actually successfully completed enough credits to graduate, despite taking longer to finish high school classes than normal.  By the time she was 21, she thought she was an equivalent high school graduate and at this point has applied to Metropolis University.  (She'll later, learn, however, that she's not eligible for this until she finishes out her hs credits).

♣  Lois' father wanted his girls to be able to defend themselves, so Lois has been taking karate lessons for long enough to be a qualified third-degree black belt.

♣  Despite the long distance between them, Lois was very close to her cousin, Chloe Sullivan, all through her life.  When she learned of her cousin's death, and got her hands on a video letter from Chloe to Clark Kent, she traveled to Smallville herself in order to investigate Chloe's death further.  This is where she enters the show in Season Four.

♣ The rest of her history over the course of the show can be found here (http://smallville.wikia.com/wiki/Lois_Lane). The most prominent events of her life are meeting Clark Kent and coming to stay with his family while she finished up high school in Smallville, a short stay at Metropolis University, where she was kicked out for underage drinking, an eventual first foray into journalism working for the tabloid Inquisitor, and eventually landing a job at the Daily Planet. She's subsequently made a name for herself, and was on a one woman mission for a time to get an interview with the Red-Blue Blur; however when he finally contacted her, she admitted she simply wanted to give him an outlet to talk to. She began dating Clark Kent, but "the Blur" came between them, in more ways than one, and they eventually broke up, only to get back together after Brainiac V smacked some sense into him. After being possessed by the goddess Isis, Clark realized he couldn't lose her without telling her his secret and finally did so, even though she'd already figured it out. The two are currently engaged, and she works with the superheroes to combat the government's crackdown on vigilantes.

Faramir | Lord of the Rings | Reserved [2/6]

[identity profile] atraphoenix.livejournal.com 2011-01-28 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Character Notes:
History: Faramir was born in the Third Age of Middle-Earth, the second son of Denethor II, the Steward of Gondor, and his wife Finduilas. His brother, Boromir, was five years his senior. The two siblings were always close, but, as their father began to grow cold and distant following the premature death of their mother, the bond between them grew even tighter. Boromir began to take on the role of both mentor and friend and, although the elder brother was obviously favoured by Denethor, Faramir did not hold that against his brother. Frequently, they worked together to lead the soldiers of Gondor and to keep the kingdom safe.

Gandalf the wizard was also a friend and mentor to Faramir during his youth. However, although their relationship allowed Faramir to explore his love of history and lore, it also widened the gulf between Faramir and Denethor, who didn’t trust Gandalf and had detested the idea of his son as “some wizard’s pupil”.

As an adult, Faramir was granted the position of Captain of the Rangers of Ithilien, a military group that fought on the front lines to keep Minas Tirith and her immediate territories safe from Sauron. His role in the War of the Ring changed, however, when the night before a battle against Sauron’s forces was disturbed by a prophetic dream. The dream, which he shared with his father and brother the next morning, spoke of “Isildur’s bane”, “the sword that was broken” and a council that was to be held at the elvish city of Imladris. When he joined them after their victory in Osgiliath, Denethor announced that he intended to send Boromir to Imladris – also known as Rivendell – to attend the meeting that had been called by Elrond, the lord of that city, and to find out the true meaning of the riddle. Although Faramir offered to go in Boromir’s place – both for the sake of Gondor and to prove his worth to his father – he was merely laughed at by Denethor. The Steward had realised that Isildur’s bane referred to the One Ring and believed that, if Boromir could reclaim it from the elves, it could be used to save Gondor.

With Boromir gone, Faramir was left to lead the men of Gondor against the forces of Mordor and to ride out his father’s turbulent moods alone. It was not until a few months later, however, that he realised that his beloved brother would not be returning at all. While on guard duty at the shore of the River Anduin, he discovered a boat the contained the body of Boromir. Denethor began to slip further into the madness that had threatened to claim him since the death of his wife and Faramir had no choice but to take on Boromir’s responsibilities.

A short time afterwards, Faramir encountered Frodo Baggins – the ring bearer – and his companion, Sam Gamgee, while on patrol with the rangers and found himself pulled fully into the quest. Like all mortal men, Faramir was tempted by the Ring. He saw it as a way to finally win his father’s love and respect and, consequently, began to take Frodo and Sam to Minas Tirith. It was only when he learned how and why his brother had died that he changed his mind. He was not Boromir. He would never be Boromir. As much as he loved his brother, he would not allow himself to make the same mistakes and, although he loved his father, he knew that Denethor was wrong about the Ring. It wouldn’t save Gondor. It would destroy it. He couldn’t allow that to happen.

Character Notes:
History:
Kouichi was born first of a set of twins, the second half being being Kouji. When they were young, and not old enough to remember, their parents separated taking one twin in doing so. Kouichi grew up without knowing the fact that he had a twin brother as did Kouji. Kouji led a happy, normal life when their father remarried and didn’t suffer hardships. Kouichi, on the other hand, got the short end of the stick.

Their biological mother was constantly ill and had trouble taking care of herself and Kouichi. The boy had a tendency to worry over her and try and take care of her, but as a child there’s not much you can do to help your sickly mother who’s overworking herself to take care of you. Eventually, to make matters worse, his Grandmother grew ill and was put into the hospital. The doctors were telling Kouichi’s mother she would not make it when Kouichi’s grandmother told him one last secret:

He had a brother. A twin brother named Kouji and he must find him.

Shocked, Kouichi didn’t know what to believe, but in a way he accepted it readily. Obeying his grandmother’s last request, he started looking for his brother. He found him, of course, but he was too afraid to speak to him. After all, what do you say to a twin brother who doesn’t even know you exist? There was so much he wanted to say, but he could never bring himself to confront his brother. To say those words he so desperately wanted to say “I’m your brother”. When he got the courage to do so events were already in play, and a lot would happen before he’d get to.

Upon seeing his brother on a bullet train the day dozens of children were getting messages from the Digital World, Kouichi had decided then he would do so. He followed his brother and chased after him as he entered the underground railway station. However, when he reached the elevator his brother had taken the doors had already shut. Still determined, the boy veered left and ran down flights of stairs to try and reach him before he made it to the bottom… But on the second flight he would lose his footing and land roughly on the ground. He thought he was dying…

Awaking, he found himself in another world. It wasn’t the Digital World as his brothers and the others had gone, but a dark world. A world of loneliness and torment. It constantly showed him images of his mother and brother and he only grew angrier, more lonely. He was trapped in this world for sometime, unknown to him that outside of it Cherubimon was corrupting him and his brother and others were gaining the Spirits of Legendary Warriors.

Character Notes:

History: A not-so-long time ago, in a land far, far away but only if you don't live on the North American continent, governed by censorship rules and family-friendly plotlines and fables, was a children's show called My Little Pony: Friendship is magic. Yes, it does happen to be based upon the popular Hasbro toy franchise, My Little Pony. And yes, it is about as cheesy as you might expect it to be.

With a bit of dry humor and pop culture references to keep the parents entertained, of course, but it's still made of lots and lots of cheese.

In this television show (which takes place in a fictional land called Equestria) lived a pony named Twilight Sparkle, a slightly uptight and bookish girl who craved nothing but knowledge. Stuck in her tower all day with no company save for her assistant Spike (a baby dragon) and her books on magic and learning, she shunned the friendship and companionship of the other ponies of Canterlot (the capital city of Equestria) in order to increase her knowledge of the world. One day, in the midst of her studies, she discovers a legend that details the story of Princess Celestia (the mare of the day and the current ruler of Equestria) and her sister, Princess Luna (the mare of the night). Apparently, forever and a day ago, Celestia and Luna used to rule Equestria together. But Poor Luna got so jealous that everyone slept at night and didn't appreciate her the same way that they appreciated Celestia that she went nutso and tried to enshroud the world in darkness. The evil in her heart transformed her from Princess Luna to Nightmare Moon. Instead of talking out their problems like normal siblings would do, Celestia trapped her poor sister in the moon for like 1000 years or so. What a bitch.

Anyway, Twilight comes across this story in one of her books, and-- GASP. The story also predicts that Nightmare Moon will return on the longest day in Equestria. That just so happens to take place on a certain day far too close in the future for Twilight's liking, so she writes her teacher (Princess Celestia) informing her of the danger. Instead of... y'know, taking this danger seriously, Celestia sends Twilight to a small backwater town called Ponyville to make friends. Because making friends in the face of danger is totally what you do.

It all makes sense in the end, I promise.

Anyway, Twilight goes to Ponyville in an attempt to study friendship, where she meets five ponies by the names of Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Fluttershy. They all try to be nice to her and befriend her, but Twilight is soooo frustrated that NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THE POTENTIAL END OF THE WORLD, that she doesn't put her heart into it. An lo and behold... while she is in Ponyville, the prophecy comes true and Nightmare Moon returns. Equestria is shrouded in darkness and Princess Celestia disappears and NO ONE KNOWS WHAT TO DO.

Character Notes:

History:
For the TL;DR version, click here (http://smallville.wikia.com/wiki/Lana_Lang).

Lana Lang was born and raised in Smallville, Kansas. She had two loving parents up until the day of the meteor shower. She was three years old the day that both of her parents were killed by the meteors when they crashed to earth, bringing Kal-El with them. Her aunt, Nell, adopted her and she became the poster-child of the tragedy, earning herself a place on the cover of Time magazine because she was apparently the saddest-looking child in Smallville that they could find. Taking a piece of the meteor rocks -- aka kryptonite -- she forged herself a bead for a necklace to remind herself that her parents were always with her. Morbid, perhaps, but it served as a good plot device for why she and Clark rarely got to speak and why she was this untouchable ideal for him.

When Lana was ten, she tried to run away to Metropolis because she felt like she was a burden on her aunt. Nell went to retrieve her and Lana asked if she regretted adopting her. Nell dissuaded her concerns and brought her home. In seventh grade, she skinned her knee and passed out when she saw the blood, but she's since gotten over her squeamishness it appears, especially since in season 1 she runs the blood drive.

She settled into a normal-ish life that involved a lot of horseback riding, visiting the graves of her parents daily, cheerleading because she believed it was what her mother would have wanted, and dating Whitney Fordman, the quarterback. However, she learned while digging through some of her mother's things partway through freshman year that her mother despised cheerleading, and promptly quit in an attempt to find herself. Finding herself led her to try and get a job at the Beanery, a local coffee shop where most of the kids from Smallville High hung out, but she turned out to be the worst waitress possible and wound up getting quickly fired. her aunt apparently owned the theater that her parents had met in, though, and when she tried to sell it, Lana instead came up with a business proposition to turn it into a competition coffee shop with the help of Lex Luthor. Lex and Lana entered a business partnership and they created the Talon, which Lana would manage and where she would gradually learn to stop sucking as a waitress.

During her freshman year, she and Whitney went through some serious relationship trouble that came to a head when Whitney's father died, motivating him to join the Marines and ship out to boot camp to ~save the world~ as Lana would put it every single time she talked about it. While her feelings for Whitney became more complicated, so did her feelings for Clark. The two grew closer and she very nearly cheated on Whitney with him a few times. However, Clark wound up getting together with Chloe, and Lana spent Spring Formal going with Whitney to send him off to boot camp. On her way home, a tornado hit. Lana got caught in it and Clark bailed on Chloe and the dance to come save Lana, though she was unconscious and couldn't witness his heroics and become aware of his powers. In fact, Clark denied ever being involved at all, though Lana didn't believe him and came to grow frustrated with his constant keeping of secrets.

Her feelings towards Clark continued to grow, though, and she decided to break up with Whitney, feeling it was her only option because while he deserved to know someone was there for him waiting, she couldn't do it as a girlfriend, just a friend. She sent him a video tape, which was how they'd been corresponding, and went a long time without hearing back from him. Aunt Nell decided she wanted to move to Metropolis with her boyfriend, but Lana refused to go, claiming that Smallville was her home. Chloe and her father allowed Lana to stay with them, and while at first it brought the two girls closer, it eventually began to breed problems when they both discovered their mutual love for Clark wasn't going anywhere.
