Character: Firo Prochainezo
Fandom: Baccano!
Character Notes: Firo is immortal, and in a relationship with Ennis. I will be running down the timeline this time instead of jumping point to point. Firo is an expert in street fighting and knife combat.
History: Firo's father was Italian and his mother was American-English. Firo spent most of his youth in Manhattan's Italian slums, and at age 9 was orphaned. Firo lived on streets with Claire Stanfield, friends of the Gandor Brothers. One day the Martillo Family found him and he has been there ever since. Becoming an executive at 18, Firo's initiation was filled with ruckus. Dallas Geonard trying to kill him and Luck Gandor. Slizard trying to absorb Maiza, and Firo meeting the love of his life Ennis. Firo and Ennis have been together and married for awhile. Though they haven't really made any 'progress' till 2002.
Personality: He is shy amongst women normally Ennis. He isn't that smart at the start of the story, but after an event he becomes smarter in a way. He is streetwise though, just not booksmart. Firo is loyal, kind and gentle to his friends. Though he can be ruthless to his enemies.
Other: He plays poker!

First Person (entry type): Ducks? I don't get it. I don't see any ducks. Wait, Claire? Hey Claire! Are you in New York? You should stop by if you are. Apparently I missed you last time. Sorry, I was having fun with Maiza and Ennis. Oh, that's right you don't know Ennis. Well uh, she's kinda my girl. What a stroke a luck though huh? Finding you on here. Oh, I think I am getting carried away. My name is Firo, Firo Prochainezo. So, what is this place. I mean I opened this book with an Edgar Allen Poe poem, looking for it. My friend Luck read it to me once. I wanted to read it again, but it wasn't there, instead there was this place. I don't get it.

Third Person: “So the old man didn’t see her.” Firo spoke to himself quietly continuing down the alleyway. He looked around as he jogged onward. “How did I lose her? I mean she was a about thirty seconds ahead of me. Wouldn’t she have found that old man first?” Firo stopped for a second and thought. His mind the woman he just bumped into outside of a burning building not even fifteen minutes ago.

His eyes looked to the cufflink in his hand. He knew it came off of her suit, so he wanted to return it. Ever get one of those feelings where Destiny didn’t want you to do something just yet. Yeah this was one of those times for Firo.

“Firo? Firo! We’re gonna be late!” Maiza voice shot from around the corner. Firo looked back and smiled. He had almost forgotten that his promotion ceremony was soon.

“Sorry about that Maiza.” His tone was still the same lovable Firo. A smirk now formed on his face as he adjusted his hat and pocketed the cufflink.

((I am reusing my old Third person sample.))

We're sorry, but this application has been rejected. Your samples do not show a distinct character voice; in addition, your character notes do not give us a sense that you have an understanding of this character. Please feel free to reapply.

Just out of curiosity, what did you feel was not properly portrayed in his voice?
