First Person: Well, looks like I finally managed to tap back into this place, huh? Been a hell of a long while, since I saw you lot. Funny how time seems to travel at slightly different paces, between worlds. From what I've been seein' on here, time doesn't seem to have moved that far on for a lotta' you.
Things since you last saw me have...not turned out that great. Fuckin' terrible, is more like it. You've got no idea. I can't stand it. I can't take this shit anymore. Everything just went to hell so fast, and for the first time in my life, I ain't got a fuckin' clue what I'm supposed to do.
Someone. Anyone. Please. I need to hear someone...
Third Person: Damned if his head didn't hurt like a son of bitch. How long had he been sleeping in this bed, trying to wish away the things he didn't want to think about? It wasn't like he really needed to rest for long periods of time, anyway. His body was efficient enough to run on just a few hours of sleep. Life just seemed easier when you were unconscious.
"Ah, shit. What the hell am I gonna' do, today?" he grunted, swinging his legs over the side of the bed and jumping to his feet. He took a few moments to stretch out his limbs and shakes the cobwebs out of his head. Being a hermit was a hell of a lot harder than fiction told him. How the hell did all of those old martial masters stay sequestered from the rest of humanity? Movies and comics made that seem so easy.
"Tch," he spat, running a hand through his hair, "Then again, I ain't part of humanity, am I? Guess a wolf just can't stay locked up inside the house."
After brushing his teeth, shuffling into some fresh clothes, and making his breakfast, he decided to put the television on. Great. The news. It was the same story every day, no matter where you lived. Shootings. Kidnappings. Pollution. Corruption. All the wonderful little quirks of the human condition, punctuated by worthless fluff stories like the local sidewalk art show. Like that was going to make people feel better after all the depressing stories they just watched. Ridiculous.
"Nothin' ever changes. The whole fuckin' species is whacked outta' their minds," he growled to himself, chewing over a piece of buttered toast as he plopped down on his couch, "I don't know why I even try. I should just stop tryin' to go to schools, entirely. I already know how things are gonna' work out. Like clockwork."
His mind briefly flickered over the events of the last few days, each portion playing slowly before him. Haguro had went on the run, as Akira knew he eventually would. Why couldn't he just take a hint? Chiba...Chiba was terrible collateral damage. He couldn't even bring himself to check on him, to see if he survived. All he could do for him at the time was to give him a transfusion. Still, he had worked for Haguro. He should have left sooner, then maybe it wouldn't have happened.
"...No. Not a chance. He got caught up with me. That's why this happened. Humans and me, we just can't get close. Not a damned bit," he said, looking over at a picture on his desktop, "What about you, Mom? How did you manage it?"
