Personality: Shinichi, even as Conan, is first and foremost a detective. That means, that no matter what he’s doing his analytical mind is fast at work, working through clues and puzzles to figure out how something was done. The very word ‘how’ is what drives Conan. He doesn’t care why something was done, he does not sympathize well with criminals, especially criminals that have gone and made the case all to easy for our dear little detective.
Second. Ran. Ran Mouri is Shinichi’s childhood friend and love interest. He’s so hung up over her that his love for her truly deserves it’s own part in his personality. He admires Ran’s strength and compassion above all other things about her and truly sees her as the most important person in the world. He would do anything for her. Even as Conan, his love for her hasn’t changed, even though they live together. He hates having to lie about his identity to her but he’d rather she stayed safe. If Ran ends up in danger Conan gets reckless and all the intelligence he holds tends to go down the drain.
Third, Shinichi is what you would call a mystery freak. This doesn’t change between when he’s Shinichi and when he’s Conan. He has read the series Sherlock Holmes more times then he can probably count. He’s been to a Holmes convention, had to take thousand question test and most likely, got a perfect score on it. The Kudo library is filled from floor to ceiling with mystery books and it’s an easy bet to say he’s read every last one of them.
Shinichi and Conan, being the same person share several of the same qualties but there are a few things that differ between the real thing and the alias. To get into that I’ll have to go into Shinichi’s personality and then into Conan’s.
Shinichi is a very arrogant, spoiled rich boy. He’s under the belief he’s the best thing since sliced bread and his attitude towards others shows this very clearly. As Shinichi, he can move around crime scenes freely and doesn’t need help from others getting where he wants.
Shinichi is a showoff, he gathers suspects and onlookers to hear his amazing deduction show and goes through the process painfully slow as to bask in the glory and rub it in the culprit’s face that he’s onto them and they’ll be going to jail soon. However, he does this same thing when borrowing another person’s voice with the bow-tie.
While being stuck as Conan, his head has deflated quite a bit, seeing as he cannot take credit for all the cases he solves. Being a kid means constantly getting shooed away from crime scenes and his access to certain things is extremely limited, to get around this Conan has become extremely manipulative.
He knows how to mix words to get a conversation going his way, he knows how to phrase things so that the adults will have a sudden realization about the meaning of certain clues, and most of all he knows how to get where he wants. He’ll usually use an excuse like ‘I forgot something here’ and it usually gains him access to the crime scene.
Conan is a master escape artist. He has a terrible habit of running off without saying anything and usually lands himself into some kind of trouble, nothing he can’t handle so long as he ‘s got his trusty kick shoes and belt, or even the wrist watch can get him out of a bind.
It’s less noticeable as Shinichi, but Conan seems to have problems tolerating people who are less then intelligent. It’s seen most often when he’s talking to the Shounen tantei dan ( a group of kids that have adopted Conan as their friend), or if someone has just said something more on the dumb side.
Another thing, he seems to be more reckless and impatient as Conan though it’s highly possible this is because he frequently forgets his small stature.
3/... I have no idea.
