Character: Link
Fandom: Legend of Zelda (Spirit Tracks)
Character Notes:
History:
This Link is the newest (at least until Skyward Sword comes out) reincarnation of the Hero of Time. He was born in New Hyrule and trained to become a...erm...train conductor, and lived with Niko, one of the first settlers, and Alfonzo, his mentor.

The day of his graduation, he met Princess Zelda and her suspicious Chancellor Cole. After the graduation rites, Zelda slipped him a note that told him to meet her in her room and make sure he wasn't seen by the guards or Chancellor Cole, as she thought there was something about to happen with the Spirit Tower (that supports all the Spirit Tracks in New Hyrule). Something very wrong.

Soon enough, he met up with her and got the recruit uniform so he could get past the guards without them suspecting anything wrong. With Zelda however, it was a different story, so he distracted them as Zelda snuck past. Once outside, they both got on the train with Alfonzo waiting, and promptly dashed away to the Spirit Tower.

Except for one problem. The Spirit Tracks suddenly disappeared, and the train skidded to a stop. Link, Zelda and Alfonzo got out of the train just in time to find the Spirit Tower breaking apart. And that was when Chancellor Cole showed up with Byrne and revealed that he was the one responsible for the disappearing Spirit Tracks and the Tower's breaking apart. Why? Because he was a demon that wanted to resurrect Malladus, the Demon King (who bears quite a resemblance to Ganondorf).

Alfonzo tried to stop them, but was quickly defeated by Byrne. Link? Same thing. Zelda was zapped with dark magic that separated her spirit from her body, and her newly-soulless body was taken away. Link, however, was conscious for long enough to witness that.

A few hours later, Link woke up to find himself in Hyrule Castle, still in the recruit uniform and being taken care of by Teacher. Once he told Teacher about what had happened to Zelda, he went back to her room, and found...her spirit! At the very least, though, he was the only one who could see her. Her guards did not.

(To be cont'd...)

(Cont'd, History)

Zelda asked Link if he could accompany her back to the Tower of Spirits, and gave him her Spirit Flute to hold when he agreed. And then they set off, without a train or a sword.

At this point in time, Link discovered a magical book...
