First Person (entry type):

Hello?

Hello...?

I don't know if any of you can read this but the name's J.J. Well, Detective Jemmy J. Adams, if you want to get all offical and stuff. I work for the NYPD but don't let that scare you away! I'll be fair with you guys if you're not breaking the law or doing anything bad.

Not that I think you're doing anything bad! I'm sure you're all law abiding citizens and that some of those things I read here are just made up, right? Some of you are writing a book or a screenplay or something and posting it online, yeah. That's cool and all!

So, I just wanted to introduce myself and I'm pressing 'post' now so I hope you see this and reply and--

Third Person:

J.J. was bored. It was late and Drake had gone to get some Chinese take-away food because they'd both felt hungry and their shift didn't end for many hours yet. The night was crawling by and JJ started daydreaming about Dee - or was that late-night-dreaming? Dee... He always looked so handsome and heroic and... suddenly Randy's face swung into view. J.J. made a face himself. Why were they partners? He should be partners with Dee! In more ways than one...

A goofy smile was on his face and the elbow he was leaning on slipped along the table and he almost fell off his chair. Startled by a pile of paperwork fluttering to the ground, J.J. sighed and bent down to pick them up. "Urgh... Dammit! I just had these sorted out!" He complained to the air.

It was then that he heard a muffled voice. He looked up and listened. Speaking could still be heard. It seemed to come from the filing cabinet...

J.J. blinked and then frowned. No way anybody was inside of there unless they were the world's tiniest person. And even then they'd have to be slim as a sheet of paper. Then it struck him suddenly that somebody must have left a radio in the drawer and it had somehow switched itself on. Well, better turn it off, he thought to himself and he found the key, opening the drawer.

In the midst of the files he found the source of the noises. It was not a radio - it looked like a slimline laptop computer but unlike any he'd seen before. It was certainly more advanced than the old desktop heap that was sitting on his desk.

Curious, he brought it out and opened it up. Voices.... and words kept appearing on the screen as if someone was in the midst of an online conversation. He shut it, thinking that he probably shouldn't look. Those things were private... Then he heard a voice. It sounded like Dee!

J.J. opened the laptop again and peered closer at the screen. What was going on here...?
