History:

☈ Neuro came. Neuro solved. Neuro terrified. Neuro left. You are now terrified and you don't know why.

okay seriously.

☈ Neuro leaves Hell because fuck Hell, man. All the good yummy mysteries were all gone! So, birdman leaves hell and comes to the real world to devour mysteries.

☈ He finds a delectable mystery in the form of Yako's father's murder. But, before he can consume that mystery, he decides to consume a few more to get a taste of things.

☈ Due to the fact that demons can't show their true form or any inclination that they are from Hell, he takes on Yako as his "cover" and basically transforms her into A SUPER AWESOME DETECTIVE THAT IS SO SUPER FAMOUS, when really he just needs her to point to the culprit and take any suspicion off him.

☈ They solve mysteries before NEURO DESCENDS UPON YAKO'S FATHER'S MURDER. Where the police couldn't figure it out, Neuro figures it out in a half hour. After he solves Yako's father's murder, he eats the mystery and sends the murderer into his own personal hell. Such a charming guy, huh?

☈ When Yako thinks she's in the clear, THERE HE APPEARS AGAIN. Neuro suggests (read: forces her to) start her own detective agency. They get a building from the mob when Neuro solves a mystery from them and they collect Slave #3: Godai.

☈ They solve a case of a stalker and a superstar that sends them into superstardom.

☈ Several cases later, this guy decides that hey, it would be great to create a super human program named HAL and create a virus/program that inherently brainwashes people to bring out the most violent in them. By this time, Neuro is running on empty when it comes to his demonic powers and Yako takes over and kicks ass.

☈ Phantom Thief Sai takes it and starts brainwashing people, including Yako. This pisses the hell out of Neuro (who usually doesn't give a damn about the people he apprehends), because what the hell, he's the only one allowed to abuse Yako AND NOT AT ALL BECAUSE HE STARTS TO LIKE THE BOTTOM FEEDING SLUG. But they're ~*~bond~*~ (and a series of logical deductions), he figures out which one is Yako and he kicks ass. But, he's victoryblocked by an asshole named Sicks.

☈ LONG STORY SHORT, there's this guy named Sicks wants to destroy humanity and that positively angers Neuro (which is scary as hell - GET IT? GET IT? please don't reject my app because of that) because humans create mysteries and Neuro needs his food source to survive. After their fight, Neuro has fully exhausted his demon energy for a while.

Personality:

☈ Food first : Of course, it is important to note that Neuro, though as complex as he is, operates on the basic biological instinct of finding food. He comes to the human world for the sole reason of finding more mysteries to consume. Though he and Yako are similar in the respect: they both eat food not only to survive, but to also "be happy". He wants quality of the mystery, not quantity. While he would be happy with any mystery, he doesn't like tiny fodder - he deems it an insult to his vast intellect.

☈ Abusive Demon & Troll of Yako's life: While on the outside, he acts like an obedient servant boy to Yako (puppy dog eyes versus the TERRIFYING ABYSS THAT ARE HIS REAL EYES), Neuro only knows how to abuse Yako. Whether it be through terrorizing her by taking apart her cellphone or making her hold up a melon while he demonstrates a decapitation or slamming a book on her head for ignoring his ~*~brilliant analysis of human TV~*~, it seems to be the only way he knows how to communicate. An interesting fact is that while he does call Yako "sensei" in public, he often passes his own opinion of things in the form of "Sensei says..." in order to make all the blame form on Yako. His backhanded trolling is very important because he can't draw attention to himself in the human world. And if it means that Yako gets extra trolled, it just proves how brilliant he is for executing such a perfect plan.

☈ Cruel Bird: While Neuro does seem more focused on technical things (read: more superficial) in the human world that lead to his apathy about people, there are some contradictions. Those come in the form of those who threaten Yako's life or those who threaten the lives of people around him and WHO DARE TO ATTACK HIM. Those suffer the fate of having Neuro using one of his 777 Tools of Makai Realm. One stalker had his nerve endings played as an instrument, another (Yako's father's murderer) entered a nightmare of his own design. Neuro is a cruel being and he doesn't really hesitate to punish he deems are worthy of it.

☈ FRIEND?!!: Abuse aside, Neuro and Yako are really a team. Whilst Neuro figures out the technical aspect of mysteries, he leaves Yako to the motives. While he disguises the fact that he actually gives some sort of inclination to Yako's growing ability, he wants to see her grow. When Sai brainwashes Yako, he immediately gets irate that someone is infringing on his "property". Another example would be with the case of Aya. He knew that Aya was the killer all along, but he let the case develop when it was apparent that Yako was doing research. After the case, he praised her and went off on his way - not before threatening to rip her limbs off if she didn't show up. It's hard to say that he actually "cares" on the level that humans "care" for something, but the "slaves" around him are very important to him.

☈ Anthropologist: There are just some things that a demon of hell can't comprehend. Whilst he jokingly makes comparisons ("Oh, your dramas here stretch out for so long. In hell, in ten minutes everyone dies and we just film the corpses"), there are things like "intuition" and "feeling" that he just can't comprehend. While slowly, he starts to understand, he needs Yako and Godai to not only keep his cover, but to help him out by discovering motive so that he can devour mystery. There are times where he would just sit and watch, but there are times that he would just point out how backwards humans are.

☈ X( don't piss off Neuro: Seriously. Don't piss off Neuro. He won't care how many people die in the process, but if you harm his food source, you're fucking dead.

☈ DEMON BIG BIRD: It's important to note that Neuro does hold a true form of a giant bird. Whilst he jokes that he can't fly (which is probably false), he has the mannerisms of a bird. For instance, his gloves make it seem that he has five fingers, but he really only uses three. His middle acts as an index finger and his thumbs are on either side. He also tends to view things from the point of view of an avian such as "nests", "preys" and so on and so forth. Probably best not to use bird puns around him.

SENSEI!!! SENSEI, I HAVE FINALLY LOCATED THE COMMUNITY OF THE INFAMOUS BOTTOM FEEDING SLUGS THAT YOU ME ABOUT!

Mou, sensei, they aren't as stupid as you said they are! I think they look ~~positively bland~~ like good people. Please, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Nougami Nero - assistant to the Great Teenage Detective, Yako Katsuragi! Sensei has told me a lot about this place and how absolutely mysterious it can be.

I look forward to meeting all of you! After all, my sensei has told me so much about you all. I hope I find her harsh critique that are all nothing colony of lowly bacteria that don't know any better than to be a waste of oxygen to be completely untrue.

Have you been hiding this from me, slug? All this negative energy in one place … it is like a miasma of mystery. The sheer thought of devouring this mystery is making me salivate --!

Third Person:There's a wallet on the sidewalk. What now?

He had started to become picky about his mysteries, like a connoisseur craving for a fine wine. The wallet on the ground didn't belong to Yako and therefore it was irrelevant to him. How else was he going to torture the young detective? Perhaps he would play the role of the concerned citizen and lure her into a false sense of security before he revealed that he had found it.

Regardless, he opened up the wallet anyway to see what pathetic arthropod had been so careless enough as to lose their whole identity.

Oh, he could sense it now. The delectable, yet subtle spice of a mystery that has yet to brew. As soon as Yako would try and make a case for intuition, Neuro would probably smash her head against a wall. However, she wasn't all wrong about it, anyway. He would never ever admit it in a million years that an organism on the level of a single celled bacterium had some idea of what he was thinking when it picked it up.

What she called intuition, he called biological imperative. No matter what species, what race, what genius, phylum or kingdom you were in, you had the biological urge to feast. It might be passive in the way you consume, but the fact of the matter is that you consumed nonetheless.

As soon as Neuro got back into the office, he hurled the wallet as hard as he could against the back of Yako's head.

"You've been demoted to slave #5; I have had to find us a case, as usual."

He didn't even care to hear her protests that there weren't even four other people in the agency. Neuro knew that he was going to be in for a feast.
