First Person (entry type): What in the name of -- why is the computer stuck on this webpage? I sincerely hope this isn't the result of Angel trying to look something up on his own again. There are only so many electrical fires one can take.
The better question, I suppose, is why is the computer frozen on a webpage about ducks? If this is a message from the powers that be, it isn't very insightful. Maybe … there is drama revolving around a duck?
No, still not making the slightest bit of sense.
Maybe I've made an enemy in my attempt to expand our circle of connections. But … a website about dramatic ducks seems like a rather tame threat. I don't know many demons with computer skills in the first place.
Well, in any case, I surrender. I hope whomever reads this is satisfied.
Third Person:
Even after being stripped of the position of Watcher, Wesley enjoyed doing his research. There was something familiar about it. Reassuring. The world around him changed, but the words didn't. It was information. Logic. Languages were formulaic. It was all eternal.
And, most importantly, Angel and Cordelia weren't worth a lick when it came to these things. They wouldn't know the difference between a word based in proto-hugaric or proto-bantu if it smacked them in the face.
When Cordelia entered her apartment-- the temporary home base of Angel Investigations until they could locate new office space-- he didn't bother lifting his eyes. It had to be her. She made far more noise than Angel did with the ghost-like way he tended to appear and disappear sometimes. Vampire-like? No matter.
Speaking of …
"Have you seen Angel?" Wesley still didn't bother looking up from his book.
"No. I think he's off tracking that …" she cast a glance over to their whiteboard of open and closed cases before responding, "Khee Shah demon?"
"Hm." That was fairly predictable. His eyes finally rose from his book, joining hers in glancing at the whiteboard. It wasn't of any great import to him, he guessed, whether or not Angel fulfilled his destiny. There was helping the innocent, that was always the most important, but he wasn't the one who stood to gain a soul from it. All the same, he felt invested in this cause, more than he'd ever felt invested in his task as Watcher. Was that what it was? Was he Angel's Watcher now?
No, but it was surprisingly funny to think about. A wry smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
"Can you get me a coffee while you're up?" He called towards Cordelia before burying his attention into the book again. It wasn't being a watcher. It wasn't anything remotely like that.

It was being family.
