Personality: Simon is generally a shy guy who has problems communicating with others from start to finish. Obviously, making friends and meeting people does not come easily to him. Other people tend to find him odd, and other characters tease him frequently. It can be said hat he is the loner of the group of people that he talks to, and he never fully overcomes this despite coming out of his shell slightly. He is desperate to be accepted by his friends. Simon needs gain comfort with someone before this will happen, though. His shyness is clearly mirrored by his ability - Invisibility. Initially it only worked when he "felt" invisible, but he was able to get control of it. Whenever he just meets someone it takes him awhile before he'll even think about opening up. He has started to open to the friends he has. There is a darker side to this shyness when combined with his invisibility. Simon will turn invisible to watch people. He has watched the girls change, as well as sneaking into someone's house and watching her sleep. This may come from a fear of approaching people or speaking with them. He finds it easier to watch and observe them, and even better - now he can do it without others catching him.
Simon does not speak needlessly and the things that he says should be taken seriously. He will say something useful when he does speak up about a situation. He is clearly smart. When the group killed their probation worker at the beginning of the series, he is the one who comes up with a way to hide the body in a way that would keep them from getting caught. Throughout the series he comes up with the most ideas on how to solve the problems. He is able to quickly identify problems, and works to resolve them for everyone around himself. He also uses his moral integrity to become a bit of a voice of reason when things start to go wrong. Though sometimes his resolutions are not always moral. Simon is not above finger pointing and speaking up when he feels something is wrong, too. It is, perhaps, why he wants so badly to be a superhero.
Simon can be found occasionally referencing Superheroes in relation to his own life (Superman, for example). He likes science fiction and superheroes. He seems to idolize the heroes within comics and movies. This is most likely what caused him to become a voice of reason to his friends. He uses these heroes as an example of what to do with his own abilities, and how to use them correctly.
Simon is someone who treasures his friendships, and he loves to keep record of his experiences. He is found filming everything throughout the series. He has videos of many of their conversations and photos of a lot of the events in his life (good for him - it helps him later on!). He will commit crimes to keep people around himself safe, and to keep his friends safe and out of trouble. He cares deeply about his friends, the other "Misfits", and has killed for them. They did start to bring him out of his shell, and Superhoodie is proof that he will some day have the confidence. He says that those days were the best days of his lives. He has a compassionate sense about him, and even people he feels have not always done right to him, he will stick his neck out for to save.
Despite that he treasures friendships, he struggles quite a lot with other people, and his social skills were quite better online. He enjoys sites like YouTube, Facebook, and other social networking sites. He socializes easily online, and can seem to come out of his shell. He struggles a lot to bring that to his interactions in person. Even when he starts to gain confidence at the end of season two.
