Upon her return to Palm Beach, Rose declared she was moving out of the room she and Sage had shared. Sage tried to respect her twin’s decision but found it increasingly difficult to deal with the rift, especially when Rose blew off their Spring Break traditions for an orienteering weekend. On top of this, she was struggling to deal with Luis’ homophobia as Marco and Keith prepared for their wedding. Using advice that Megan had originally given her for an English presentation, Sage tried to persuade Luis to become more open-minded; when it turned out that he would not be moved, she realised that they had no future together and broke up with him the evening after the wedding. That same evening, she and Rose patched things up as Sage came to appreciate Rose’s desire to grow.
Sage will be coming to DDD pre-canon.
Personality: Sage is strong, wilful and intelligent. When she knows what she wants, nothing will stop her from getting it and woe betide anyone who stands in her way. School is not a priority for her and she is content to stay at the B-grade level she maintains. She is not afraid to make her opinions known nor is she one to sugar-coat anything she says.
The one exception to this is when it comes to her twin sister, Rose. After their parents died, Sage took it upon herself to be the strong one and became incredibly protective of Rose. Part of the reason she wants to be famous, apart from the fact that she would be able to rub it in her friends’ faces, is so that she can help to ensure financial security for both herself and Rose without having to rely on Laurel’s money. Though Sage’s protective nature is not without its downsides - she keeps things from Rose in a bid to “protect” her and when things get bad she is incredibly resistant to anyone else trying to help - seen most often in her attitude to Megan. Additionally, when she does try to help Rose she sometimes chooses questionable means of doing so - for example when she discovered that Rose was planning on cheating in her exams and bought a purse so Rose had an easy way of sneaking the answers in.
Sage can be quite domineering when she wants to be, especially when it comes to her ambitions, and tends to rely somewhat on the fact that Rose will always go along with the things she does. She can be rather stubborn and has a vicious temper which means that on the few occasions Rose does stand up to her, there tends to be a fight. These never last, however; whatever her actions, Sage means well and believes she is acting with her sister’s best interests at heart even when she perhaps isn’t.
While she seems confident in most areas, Sage can be quite awkward around guys she has an actual interest in dating. She recognises that while she has many qualities, she does not have the easy charm of her sister. This may in part be down to the fact that she can come across as snobbish and high-maintenance especially with those she deems to be beneath her, although she can and does make exceptions - she seems to have a fond regard for their chef Marco, for example. It takes time to get to that point, however - to people she doesn’t know Sage can be cold and somewhat unapproachable.
To sum her up, on the surface Sage is a typical spoiled rich teenager but she has a good heart and the best intentions even if the execution falls short.
Other: Sage knows how to play guitar, having been taught by Eric Clapton. When she was younger, she loved to do puzzles.

First Person (entry type): [audio post] What the hell is this? Why are there ducks everywhere? I thought we grew out of those when we were four.
[She can be heard tapping at the keyboard and clicking the mouse button a few times before letting out an annoyed puff of breath]
…And now they’re not going away. Fantastic. This is really going to help me find us work, staring at a screen full of ducks. Ducks are not going to make us famous! Although it does seem like the sort of lame thing Duke might do to try and seem “interesting”, and I know Rose was on here earlier.
[More forceful typing this time, ending with a very forceful “press” of the enter key that signifies just how annoyed she’s getting]
Ugh, this is ridiculous. Fine, you stupid piece of crap. You win. But only until I find someone who can fix this and send you back to whichever juvenile corner of the internet you came from.
Third Person: “We have been over this, Sage. If you and Rose want to get into Duke, you will need a tutor.”
Sage simply rolled her eyes as her grandmother, Laurel, launched into the same speech she’d been hearing all week. She knew damn well that neither she nor Rose was what one might call a model student, and she also knew damn well that she didn’t care. As far as she was concerned, college wasn’t necessary for the future she’d envisioned for herself and Rose - all it needed was for them to get their break and the twins would have the world at their feet. They would be adored by the world, envied by their school friends and no longer dependent on Laurel’s money - and if there was anything at all wrong with any of that then Sage couldn’t see it.
“We don’t need a tutor. We’re fine as we are.”
Normally, Sage didn’t manage to get this far. On her previous attempts at talking to Laurel, she had brought Rose with her - but all that tended to achieve was that as soon as Laurel mentioned Duke, Rose was all but lost to the argument. This time, Sage had sought out Laurel alone in the hope that she could talk her grandmother around.
Apparently, Laurel was not to be talked around so easily.
“Your grades speak differently. I’m sorry, Sage, but my mind has been made up. You and Rose will have a tutor as soon as I can find someone suitably qualified.”
Sage stood, glowering at her grandmother but leaving the room without another word as she turned her mind to scheming mode. If Laurel would not be persuaded that they didn’t need a tutor then Sage would simply have to ensure that any tutor they did get wouldn’t last. And they wouldn’t last, because one way or another Sage Baker always got what she wanted.
