It wasn't as if she cared where they went, even if it was an amusement park. A goddess such as herself had more important things to do than wait in some stupid line for a ride that wouldn't scare her, or be forced to smell foods that probably wasn't worth her time. So...so, it was really a good thing Yozora uninvited her. She wouldn't have gone.

With eyes averted, seemingly distracted in the loading screen of her game, she could hear them behind her, planning the trip. The screen faded to black and she could see their faint reflections in the television. They seemed excited...were they excited to be going without her? Didn't Kodaka think it would be fun to go on rides with her? Didn't Kobato want to help her pick out cute stuffed animals for the both of them?

Of course they wanted her to go! Their trip would be lonely without her! Throwing down the controller, and getting everyone's attention, she stood and faced Yozora.

“Even if I already had plans, I can make time for this little trip.” Yozora was about to say something, no doubt rude and unwelcoming, but Sena ignored her for now, using one hand to flip back her hair. Thanks to her, their trip might turn out to be a little fun.

[When the feed begins, Serah is standing outside, her head tilted back as she looks up at the sky. Her arms are crossed behind her back and there is a pensive expression on her face.]

I wonder how far away it is. [She glances at the communicator, her lips quirking up slightly.] I know Gran Pulse has its problems and part of me is glad to be away from it. [Dropping her gaze, Serah grimaces.] But that's selfish, isn't it? Big sister and Snow need me. I'm the only one that knows they're missing.

[Uncrossing her arms, she clenches her hands at her sides.] I will go home. For them. Because I have a dream and they do too. Together, we will make Gran Pulse the kind of world that we want it to be.

[She smiles genuinely at the sky - silently sending her sister and her fiancee a message. She then picks up her communicator and brushes it off.]

I'm finally getting settled in and I was wondering...

Does anyone knows how to fight hand to hand battles? I...should learn. And since Lightning isn't here to teach me... [She bites her lip shyly.] I don't know if I can repay you, but I will try.

Thank you. [With a soft smile, she ends the feed with a click.]

Current Characters: Dr. Franken Stein

Character: Jake English
Fandom: Homestuck
Character Notes:
History:
Homestuck is a story about four kids who play a game, which destroys the world. John, Jade, Rose and Dave play SBURB, and get in over their heads. They contact some trolls from another universe, who also played their version of the game, which resulted in the original creation of the human universe. Through their interaction with the trolls, the kids decide to perform The Scratch, which will reset their universe and give them a chance to try again. So the kids scratch, and escape their universe, and a new universe is born.

Jake English is one of the kids destined to play the game, in the new Scratched universe.

Jake was created through ectobiology (probably by Jane in this session) and sent back in time on a meteor, crash-landing on an island in the south pacific. He was found and raised by his grandmother, Jade Harley, who was murdered when he was quite young. In the original universe, it was Jade who was raised by her grandfather Jake. Jake, of course, does not know this. When the universe was scratched, the roles of the kids and their guardians were switched, and so now Jake is to take on the role Jade played in the original universe.

The island Jake lives on is populated by Ferocious Fauna, and has several ancient ruins, which he loves to explore. The building where he lives is almost completely covered in pumpkin vines, due to his experimentations with appearification. His best friends are three youngsters of his own age, named Dirk Strider, Jane Crocker, and Roxy Lalonde. Unbenownst to all three of them (so far as we know) Dirk, Jane, and Roxy were all also created ectobiologically. Jake has never met any of these friends in person, as he lives alone on his island and they're far away. His entire social network is purely on the internet, and he lives alone with his fauna and a sparring bot that Dirk gave him.

All four kids are about to start playing a game called SBURB, something which they are being manipulated into doing by the Batterwitch, the reigning Queen of the Betty Crocker Empire, who is likely the troll Empress, Her Imperious Condescension. Roxy and Dirk seem to know this and are worried about it. Jake pretty much expects it to be a grand adventure, and Jane doesn't believe that her hero, the Batterwich, could possibly be trying to kill her.

Though Jake's grandmother is dead, he has been corresponding pen-pal fashion with Jade through much of his life. He has been upgrading a stuffed bunny in order to send it back in time and protect John Egbert, Jane's grandfather (an event that occurred earlier in the comic, though we didn't at the time know that it was Jake who did it). Jake is unaware that the Jade he's corresponding with is actually a different Jade, not his actual grandmother, but the pre-scratch version of her, in another universe. He thinks he's just corresponding with her through time, not also in another universe, and doesn't understand why it takes so much power to send things back and forth.

The night before this current, fateful day, Jane had a dream in which she witnessed Jake's body being borne through the streets of Prospit in a funeral march. Jake's dreamself had not yet awakened, and had been murdered by Jack Noir, an agent of Derse, who has taken the extraordinary step of deciding to preemptively take out the new kids' dream selves before the game has even started. It's also suspected that the Batterwitch has something to do with this.

At this point in the comic, Jake plans to get some more uranium from the ruins, then send the bunny, and then begin playing SBURB with his friends. It seems likely that he will be Dirk's server player, as this is a one-way ticket to sloppy makeouts between them, and Dirk has a major boner on for Jake. As does pretty much everyone else, apparently.

Personality:
Jake English is a young man who has lived nearly his entire life on an isolated tropical island filled with incredibly deadly mythical creatures that don't exist anywhere else on Earth, and ancient, mysterious ruins. His grandmother died when he was fairly young, and his only companion is a sparring bot designed and built by Dirk Strider. Brobot isn't exactly a normal sort of companion - in fact, their interactions largely involve fighting, and that's it. Other than that, Jake's only source of human interaction is the internet.

As such, Jake is a bit… eccentric.

He has watched every movie he can get his hands on, and loved every single one. His tastes aren't just eclectic, they are 'totally indiscriminate'. He has an obsession with firearms, the deadlier the better, and his fighting style of choice is two pistols - one for each hand. He also likes wrestling, mysteries, and skulls. A lot. He also enjoys his 'cerulean beauties' - movies with blue women definitely get both thumbs up in Jake's book.

He thinks of himself as a romantic adventurer, like out of the movies. His speaking style is like a foul-mouthed 1930s gangster, and he peppers his speech with both colourful swear words, and odd archaic terms. For example, he wouldn't say that he likes wrestling, he would say that he's a great lover of fisticuffs. Scrums and whatnot, you know? But for all that he likes to roleplay and pretend to be something out of the movies, he really is just a pretty weird fifteen year old boy who has had a dearth of real human interaction.

Overall, he's cheerful, courageous, and loyal. He prefers to do things himself, and will stubbornly finish a task he's taken on even if it's difficult or there's an easier way. For example, when Dirk offered to help him fix the bunny, saving Jake a lot of trouble and possibly even accomplishing the task better than Jake would be capable of, Jake turned him down. He felt that it was right for him to do it himself, since he had made the promise.

At this point in the comic, to be honest, there's a lot we don't know about Jake. As the main big boss of the comic is named Lord English, and Jake shares his last name, (and an obsession with skulls, the colour green and various other small hints) it's likely that Jake has some connection to this evil figure. But we don't know what it is. I'm going to assume Jake is not evil, and that if he has some connection to Lord English, he's unaware of it. As of now, everything we know about Jake corroborates this assumption. If I find out otherwise, I'll adjust as necessary.

Other: Jake's SBURB name is the Page of Hope. We don't yet know what abilities this will give him, but I'm sure it'll be released in the comic sooner or later. His strife specibus is 2x pistolkind, and he's also an accomplished wrestler.

Ahoy dramadramaduck!!!

Not to come off as a dadblasted ingrate but im in a bit of a pickle right now and im wondering if one of you fine gents and undoubtedly extra fine ladies as well would be willing to help me out! You see im pretty fucking sure that one of my best friends is screwing with me.

And i mean that in the OH HO HO HO LETS PLAY A PRANK ON THAT FUNNY GUY JAKE WOULDNT THAT BE THE PLUMMIEST PLUM OF A GREAT FRIGGIN IDEA sense. Not in the suggestive sense in the least if youre reading this strider i dont want to hear any of your guff!

Anyway!!

I have to admit that when it comes to technological knowhow im not the best or even the second best hacker i know. So here i sit whistling out of my bum hole and unable to surf the net unless its to ride my sweet board right up to this particular website right here. And while im sure its a frightfully interesting website i have shit to do! Not to mention i have no friggin idea how to fix this problem myself. So i figure i shall just have to appeal to the kind and beneficent masses and hope one of you is willing and able to throw me a bone.

Please help me waterfowl enthusiasts! Youre my only hope!

Oh yes i just realized that i neglected to introduce myself like a punch-drunk twit.

Jake english at your service ladies and gents!

Third Person:

A crash echoed through the forest, reverberating from the active volcano to the pumpkin-choked jungle around the tower where Jake lived. "Jiminy fucking cricket!" Jake exclaimed in surprise, leaping up from his desk and captchaloguing the tools he was using to put the finishing touches on Terry's now partly mechanical right leg. The plush bunny didn't react.

He darted to the window, pulling his guns out of his strife deck. Their weight was comforting as they fell, one into each hand, and he leaned way out, looking around. Not that he could see much. From his vantage point, he might be at a rather high altitude, but there were so many pumpkin vines that it looked as though he was almost at ground level.

He could see a cloud of bullfairies rising up above the trees, though, mooing and chirping in distress and flying in agitated circles.

Well, that had to be the cause of the disturbance. Probably another biclops knocking down trees or some such apple sauce. They always did get rowdy when they were hungry, and they tended to go after bee hives, though Jake had no idea why. It wasn't like they ever ate the honey. It was like it was the wrong kind or something.

He sighed and glanced back into the room, considering his options. His genuine replica Lara Croft thigh holsters were hanging from one of the posts at the foot of his bed. Should he get suited up properly? Perhaps he could also don his Indiana Jones-type hat, if he could find it amongst the enormous amount of junk he had inside his captchalogue deck.

Another crash and the renewed calls of the bullfairies decided him. This was no time to be fucking around like a dumb Dora. He put his guns away and raced for the stairs. Adventure was afoot! Or at least an opportunity to deliver a good drubbing.

History:

The world of D.Gray-Man is set in a fictional end of the 19th century (the exact year is unknown). There is a war going on; a Holy War. It is between those who use Innocence (the Apostles of God), and the Noahs, who claim to be Apostles of the 'True God'.

In a desperate war such as this where the Innocence is picky about who it will let wield it, the Black Religious Organization (aka the Black Order) takes desperate measures to find victory. It has been, for the past 100 years.

30 years before canon began, an Exorcist was rendered incapable of battle (or, well, 'killed in battle'. probably). 10 years later, the Second Exorcist project began. It's not until 20 years after this that Kanda's story truly begins.

30 years after he 'dies', Kanda wakes up in a pond. Underneath the Black Order's Asia Branch research institute in China was where the Second Exorcists were 'born', or 'created'. Upon waking up and crawling out of the hole with the appearance of a 9-10 year old, Kanda was given clothes and, only a little while later, began to undergo testing to become an accomodator for the Innocence. In the process, he has 'died' several times, each one as painful as the first, and each time he would regenerate/revive and was made to stand up to try-- or die --again.

A fellow Second Exorcist was Alma Karma, who had woken before Kanda did. Basically life sucked and Alma was one of the only things that allowed Kanda to get through it. But then Kanda's old memories started resurfacing; he was seeing hallucinations of a woman from his previous life, a woman he thought was real at first, but soon learned to dismiss her as an illusion. After the science team found out, they sent Central HQ's Assassin division (CROW) to capture him for termination. Alma, not wanting his best friend to be terminated, tried to escape with Kanda. Alma ended up tossing Kanda into the sewage system, telling Kanda to swim and get away, but that failed. Kanda was found by Noise Marie and Bak Chan. A CROW demanded that he be handed over. And he was handed over.

When Kanda woke up on the operating table, he recalled his dream, his memories, from his past life. He was now aware of what the Second Exorcist project was; that he was really 'dead', and that his 'mind' (or brain) had been taken from its original body and put into an artificially created one. But before even this, it had already been decided that he should be terminated before his past memories came back entirely and drove him insane, just like what happened to the Second Exorcists before him. And so he was.

However, he didn't stay dead. Somehow, somewhat, the regeneration charm in his chest brought him back to life. In the process of this, and due to the spell that was supposed to kill him to begin with, any memories of his past that he had gained were destroyed. The only ones that he is still aware of are that he's dead, killed by Akuma, that there's a woman he once knew, a woman who promised she'd wait for him. Another Exorcist. He found himself wondering why he was still alive, even though he'd died, why he couldn't stop clinging to life, why he couldn't stop this feeling of longing. He realized that he wanted to live-- not for the war, not for the Church, not for the Order, but just to see that one person.

In doing so, he managed to finally synchronize with his previous existence's Innocence, causing it to break out of the chamber it was kept in and emerge from Kanda's hand. Kanda used this to break out of the room he was confined to and found Noise Marie in critical condition from a wound to the head by an Akuma. Kanda accidentally dripped some of his blood onto the wound, causing it to miraculously heal and bring Marie back from the brink of death. Kanda then proceeded to drag Marie through the ventilation shafts to find a way out.

What he found, however, was the underground chamber where the Second Exorcists were 'born'. It was there that Alma found out the truth while Kanda was being killed. What resulted was a massacre of a good majority of the staff members at Asia Branch. This was the scene that Kanda stumbled upon while carrying one blind and temporarily incapacitated Noise Marie on his back. Alma, though glad that Kanda is alive, said that he must kill him.

Thus ensued a fight for survival in which Kanda is 'killed' by Alma. But Kanda doesn't blame Alma, no. He blames the people of the Order for creating them, he believes that maybe Alma only wanted to protect his special person. Kanda, however, is also striving to live so he can find that person of his, and he cuts down his self-proclaimed and perhaps first genuine best friend. It's not explained what happens after Kanda kills Alma, but it's probably that someone from the Order was sent to pick him up..

A year later, Kanda becomes the pupil of General Froi Tiedoll. Kanda also reunites with Noise Marie and meets Lenalee Lee (who thought he was a girl; he proceeded to teach her about zen meditation) in this timeframe. Two years later, Daisya Barry joins the Order (and eventually becomes Tiedoll's pupil as well?). Kanda also eats soba for the first time, cooked by Jerry the resident chef, and is touched by its taste. Ever since then, he has had soba for his three daily meals. (During missions, though, he'll eat what's available.)

at 16 (physically-- it's only been 7 years since he left the Research Facility), Lavi joins the Order and calls Kanda by his first name "Yuu-chan". Ticked off, Kanda tries to kill him, only to be stopped by Lenalee.

2 years later, canon starts. In the first D.Gray-Reverse novel, Kanda is sent on a mission to a village in Germany before the first chapter of DGM. Along the way, he meets up with Goz, one of the Finders that had been sent to the village of Dankelm (sp?). When first attacked by Akuma, one of them takes Goz hostage and threatens to kill him; Kanda dismisses this with a nonchalant "Do whatever you want."

Later, however, when they are attacked by Sophia, the Level 2 Akuma who had been ordering the others to kill those who came to the village, Kanda tells Goz to go run and hide for his own safety. He disguises it as saying Goz will get in the way otherwise (which is also true). When Goz is about to be struck down by another Akuma, Kanda shoves him out of the way and takes the attack himself instead of simply letting Goz die. After destroying the Akuma minions, Kanda is caught in the Sophia's special ability, forcing him into a dream-like state while still standing. It's an illusion of his deepest desires, showing the lotus in the hourglass in his room rotting away, wilting, and dying. It's Goz's voice calling his name that helps pull Kanda out of that illusion so he can destroy Sophia.

When they return to the Order, Goz insists that Kanda go to the infirmary and thanks him along the way, apologizing for calling Kanda cold-hearted. Kanda brushes him off by saying his apology is meaningless, as he never had any hope for Finders to do anything. They proceed in silence to the infirmary where Kanda gets his wound bandaged. Not long after, the Black Order HQ's Gate Keeper shouts out an alarm for an Akuma sighting.

..It's Allen, whose curse on his left eye has been mistaken for the mark of an Akuma. Kanda, not wasting a single moment, immediately attacks, claiming that the only way to know if Allen is an Akuma is to cut him open. His attempt is foiled by Lenalee's clipboard.

Kanda's first mission with Allen was to find the Ghost of Martel in the city of Martel, Italy. Their goal was to retrieve the Ghost of Martel whose existence is thought to be related to a piece of Innocence. The Ghost, as it turns out, is a doll in whom a piece of Innocence was placed to give it life. The first thing Kanda tells Allen when they arrive at Martel is that he won't bother to save him if Allen is a nuisance, whether or not he is on the verge of being killed. While Allen rushes ahead to take on the Level 2 by himself "without thinking it over", Kanda decides to destroy the Level 1s and retrieve the doll rather than help Allen.

After he manages to get the doll and its companion away from the Akuma, Kanda tells the Finder, Toma, to meet up with them and bring Timcanpy along so they can make use of the golem's recording abilities. While waiting for Toma so they can all head underground, Kanda attempts to reason taking Guzol's "heart" to cut down on the need to carry him around. The girl, Lala, protests this, saying that Guzol is the only one who knows the way around the underground passages. In the end, Kanda states that they can't let the "heart" (the Innocence) fall into the hands of the Akuma, that Guzol can keep it for now, but in the end they will still take it. He also tells Lala "Sorry for dragging you into this."

While Kanda is distracted watching the recording from Tim and studying the Level 2, Guzol and Lala make their escape. As Kanda and Toma wander through the tunnels, they are approached by "Allen"-- execpt all of his features are reversed. Kanda instinctively attacks him with his First Illusion Insects, thinking the reserved Allen to be the Akuma in disguise. However, before the attack reaches him, the real Allen crawls out of a nearby air shaft and deflects it. Not understand, Kanda demands to know why Allen is protecting the Akuma. Allen explains that his eye can see Akuma, and that this reversed Allen isn't an Akuma. He finds a tear in the skin and peels it off to find that it is a fake skin created by the Akuma and placed onto the real Toma.

The Toma that Kanda had been traveling around with turns out to be the Akuma. The revelation comes too late, however, and the Akuma attacks, slamming Kanda into the nearby stone wall. The Akuma taunts him, explaining how he managed to fool Kanda, but Kanda simply laughs him off. He receives another deep slash across his chest yet refuses to go down. After stating that he won't die until he finds "that person", he loses consciousness while still standing.

Allen carries both Kanda and Toma along while looking for a way out, but instead happens upon Lala and Guzol again. He finds out that Lala is actually the doll and Guzol is just a normal human. Kanda regains consciousness in the middle of Lala saying that she wants to stay "alive" at least until Guzol dies. Kanda claims that they can't grant this wish, and that they have to take the doll's "heart" to protect the Innocence (this coming from someone who let the doll keep its heart for a while longer. Granted, Kanda had the reasoning of being fooled into thinking Guzol was the doll and that they also needed his knowledge to navigate the undergound). He calls Allen naive for sacrificing himself to help strangers, and while they're arguing, the Level 2 Akuma attacks and spears both Lala and Guzol, removing the Innocence at the same time.

Still injured and unable to fight, Kanda watches Allen take on the Akuma on his own once more. However, Allen's body is unable to keep up with his newly evolved Innocence weapon for long, and Kanda has to jump in and stop the Akuma's attack before it strikes Allen, despite stating early on that he wouldn't help. Even though he's still injured, he manages to cut off the Akuma's hand using only one arm, and then combines his attack with Allen's to ultimately destroy it.

Kanda injuries heal three days later, but Lala still hasn't stopped singing yet from when Allen put the Innocence back into the doll. Over the phone, Komui tells Kanda that because his injury took some time to heal, he shouldn't misgauge his life reserve any more. Kanda is silent, then accuses Komui of making prank calls and hangs up, then heads over to where Allen is waiting outside the cave that Lala and the late Guzol are. Not long after, the singing stops. Allen goes in to see what's wrong, and Lala thanks him for letting her keep her promise. Kanda asks what's wrong, and Allen tells him that even though he is an indeed an Exorcist, a destroyer, he still wants to be a destroyer who can save.

Kanda is sent off another another mission immediately following this one while Allen takes the Innocence back to HQ. It's not shown what the mission is, but he's later shown (in a bad mood) being in a group, consisting of Exorcists Daisya Barry and Noise Marie, with the goal of looking for their General, Froi Tiedoll. They're continuously hounded by Akuma, at and one point are separated in a city. In the midst of destroying Akuma before meeting up again, Daisya is killed by the Noah Tyki Mikk, though no one knows this yet. Daisya is found hanging upside-down from a streetlamp. Marie and Kanda continue on and meet up with Tiedoll not long after. Because Tiedoll refuses to return to the Order, Kanda and Marie accompany him on his journey to find new Exorcists.

Then comes the Epic Battle in Edo, Japan of approximately 8 Exorcists (9, because Allen shows up belatedly to tip the scale a bit) against 5 Noahs, a shitton of Akuma, and the Millennium Earl himself. The whole group is currently taking a breather under a bridge (that is somehow not destroyed by the Earl).

Personality:
At first glance, Kanda is an indifferent young man with a strict personality, often bordering rude. He can be labeled as a grump, anti-social, perpetually angry, and sometimes a complete pain in the ass to deal with, often times with questinable mental stability.

His attitude towards unfamiliar people is curt and short, but in a polite manner; he doesn't care about them enough to be pleasant, nor does he have any immediate interest to bother them in any way. When he addresses Exorcists, it's usually in the same fashion. Depending on who it is, though, he may be less willing to indulge in extended small talk. Finders receive the most bluntness, as Kanda mostly views them as little more than cannon fodder, hardly thinking of them as very useful on the battlefield.

Though Kanda is generally not one to say much, he is entirely capable of carrying on a conversation, or at least able to speak in a civil manner, such as when he explains the strange occurrences of the Innocence to Allen and when he obtains the release code from a dying Finder. However, he also has the habit of throwing back what is given to him, in terms of attitude and treatment. During the Thief Ghost G arc, he approaches Inspector Galmar calmly at first, but when presented with misplaced irritation, Kanda starts showing a bit of anger himself. Contrary to this, attempts to be overly friendly with him result in irritation as well

In the past, he wasn't as cold and ill-tempered. As a 'child', his only friend that was relatively his age was Alma Karma, and even then Kanda wasn't exactly what you'd call a 'good friend'. He and Alma fought and argued and threw insults, but they ultimately were 'friends' (though Kanda would never admit it), able to understand each others' pain of the testing they were forced to go through. This, added to the truth that he eventually learned about the Project, gave him a rather cynical view on the Order.

During this time, he reacted to most of Alma's friendly gestures with scowls and frowns and irritated glares. All this carries over, in a sense, even to after he has 'grown up'. Any attempts to become his friend or curry favor are generally met with a cold shoulder. Those that persist, however, do manage to gain a small place in Kanda's heart-- or something to that degree. Lenalee, for example, has earned Kanda's grudging respect, and he treats her with more politeness than he does others. People like Komui and Lavi receive Kanda's version of 'tough love'.. without the actual love. He cares, but it's never shown in a way that says it outright. It's through snappish remarks intended hurt as much as help. Frequent death threats are the norm whenever either of them does something stupid, though they're rarely ever fully carried out. Otherwise, as mentioned above, Kanda treats most everyone in the Order with the same blase temperament unless provoked into something else.

At his core, Kanda is aware that Exorcists are viewed by the Church as no more than tools of war, and he will treat them as such. He takes his job as strictly what it is: to destroy Akuma, collect Innocence, and get rid of any other enemies. He tells Allen on their first mission together that "I don't care if you're on the verge of being killed, if I find that you're a nuisance, I'll leave you behind. In war there are always sacrifices, so don't think of us as partners." Comradeship and saving people are not in the contract. Hypocritically, however, he ends up protecting Allen on their first mission from what could've been a fatal attack while he himself was badly injured with the reasoning of hating people who break their promises more than he hates naive people (like Allen).

From the moment he was created in the underground Sixth Asia Research Facility, he was spoonfed (likely biased) information and explanations about the Akuma, Dark Matter, Innocence, Noahs, the purpose of the Exorcists and the Order, the goal of the Earl, things that construct the mindset he bears on his shoulders.

Akuma, Noahs, and the Earl are the enemies. Innocence and the Innocence-compatibles are to be rounded up and collected for the Order to use (he is shown demonstrating his knowledge of Innocence at times, and does not hesitate to suggest removing a 9 years old boy from the orphanage to become an Exorcist). Exorcists are tools of war; destroyers, not saviors. He will carry out the orders given to him, because that's what he is-- an Exorcist, a tool, a weapon. He will not add his own opinion, because he knows it doesn't matter. In fact, he hardly cares about the War or the Order itself. During the flashback chapters, after he finds Marie and starts looking for Alma, Kanda's thoughts are clearly displayed as "I've got to get [Alma] and get out of this place. I don't care about the Order or this war. Anger, grudges, I'll just swallow it all, so long as we're together."

It's to be noted that some of Kanda's acts of indifference and unkindness are actually a front. He wound up saving the life of a Finder he claimed to not care about in the first D.Gray-Reverse novel. The Finder, Goz, even says to Kanda that "If you really were a cold-blooded person, you'd have left me to die. I'm really sorry for saying that about you." Kanda protects Allen on their first mission from what could've been a fatal attack while he himself was badly injured, with the reasoning of hating people who break their promises (Allen, if he died) more than he hates naive people (like Allen in general).

It could be said that the harsher his treatment, the more he actually cares. That, or you're just being particularly annoying (like Lavi, Allen, or.. Komui). Women, however, may be exempt from this clause; there aren't enough females in DGM to really make a solid point. Lenalee he treats neutrally enough both out of respect of her strength as one of the few female Exorcists, and because her brother can get dangerously scary, but he is not shown interacting much beyond a line or two with Miranda, Klaud Nyne, the Head Nurse, or others.

To be fair, he may come off as someone who's just constantly annoyed by every single little thing. His approach on things is to be distant and not let anyone close. Being an Exorcist with constant missions that keep him far away from others is rather helpful in this case (and may be the cause of some of it). Even so, after being in the same field for 9 years and living with other Exorcists in the same tower, it's impossible not to grow attached to them in one way or another. An example of this is with Alma, whom he appeared to harbor a great dislike/disgust for. Kanda simply did not like the way Alma could remain so optimistic and happy in a place as harsh as where they were. Near the end of the flashback chapters, though, it's shown that he does see Alma as a sort of friend (in fact, he is even seen laughing with Alma at one point). After the incident with killing Alma, however, he seems to be even more reluctant than ever to let people get close, albeit with less censored cursing and fist waving, substituted with sword swinging.

But despite how much he pretends that everything is fine and dandy (in his own gruff, scowl-at-the-world way), there is, more often than not, a lot going on underneath. For example, in a future chapter when Kanda is with Asia Branch Chief Bak while waiting for Zhu, he remarks on how "brilliant" it is that the Order is now turning people into half-Akuma to feed on other Akuma. Bak, knowing Kanda's past and being the son of the two scientists who were at the head of the Second Exorcist Project, tries to apologize on behalf of the Order for having potentially hurt Kanda's feelings by making the Third Exorcists. Though Kanda denies being hurt and even punches Bak for 'misunderstanding', stating that he doesn't care what the Order does, it's still clear by his expression afterward that he's more affected than he claims to be. He doesn't like seeing the Order use people like these, even if he won't turn his back on his own duty as their weapon.

This is day three of my time being connected to this giant web of what the fuck ever this is. People keep talking to me. It's insane.

I found tickets to something. "The thing I like." It's stupid. How did this even get here? And the things I like are easily acquired for the most part. Why the hell would I need a ticket for it? I'll just throw it away at some point.

Or I could give it to someone who needs it.

But who am I kidding, that's even more stupid than using the tickets myself.

Third Person:

He should've realized it right away. Nothing could come out of something like this. He can't remember the last time he's done something this stupid (though whether that's because he denies doing stupid things, his memory's going, he just doesn't do stupid things, or whatever, he really can't tell). Sour, bitter.. he's not sure what to call it, but this taste, this--

--Disgusting.

And he swears he just saw his soba twitching in his bowl.

He spits out the half-chewed noodles, grabs the bowl, stands up, and marches up to the counter where a certain white-haired usually-an-Exorcist is playing cook to pay off some bills.

"BEANSPROUT."

He is so going to make Allen Walker taste his own horrendous medicine-slash-poison-slash-whatever it is he calls this pile of stuff. Never again will Kanda accept food made by this kid, no matter how edible it looks.

Character: Danny Fenton
Fandom: Danny Phantom
Character Notes:

I am including material from several older applications from games on LJ where I played as invisibll.

History:

Danny grew up as the youngest son of a pair of ghost obsessed genius crackpot scientists. Naturally, early on both Danny and his sister decided they wanted nothing to do with the family business. After all who would believe that ghosts actually existed? That all changed when Danny's parents finished their life's work, a device that would open a portal directly into the dimension where ghosts lived. When the portal didn't work during their first try, Danny entered it once his parents left the house. The teen wanted to fix the invention for his parents. Well, he did fix it, but not before he was caught inside the portal as it opened the permanent portal. The accident fused ectoplasm into his DNA, making Danny the world's second half-ghost.

At first Danny's only wish was to get rid of the powers the accident had left him. He didn't want to be some kind of half-human experiment. He wanted to be just another normal kid. When a ghost attacked his high school, angry that someone had changed the school menu, Danny suddenly found a purpose for his new abilities. He could do something now that was needed. And that no one else could do. Danny's new resolve to protect his town from the ghosts was quickly tested by a long series of ghostly villains.

His first great test came when he accompanied his parents to their college reunion and discovered that their old college buddy was also a half-ghost, changed by an accident with the original prototype of the ghost portal. Not only was their old friend a half-ghost, he had spent the last twenty years perfecting his powers and using them to become a billionaire. And he was out to kill Danny's father and marry his mother. When Vlad Masters discovered Danny's existence he immediately added turning the teen into his son/ evil apprentice to his goals. This was the beginning of Danny's determination to never turn evil. Danny forced Vlad into a draw through some creative blackmailing and got his parents home from the reunion safely.

Back home, Danny quickly went back to his usual routine of superheroing while trying to pass ninth grade. He made a few more enemies (human and ghost), and accidentally convinced the entire town he was evil. It would take half a year of constantly saving the town from the worst the ghost zone had to offer, including defeating the Ghost King, for the people of Amity Park to even begin to consider he might not be evil.

Then one day Danny got pulled into the future. There he met a future version of himself that had gone completely insane. He discovered that after his family had died in an explosion he had been sent to live with Vlad. But he hadn't been able to cope with his grief, and had begged Vlad to remove his human emotions and ghost half. Vlad had agreed, but during the procedure his ghost half had gone insane, ripped out and merged with Vlad's ghost half, and then murdered the human Danny before going on a rampage that had killed an unknown number of people and destroyed most of the world's cities. When Danny swore to stop this future, his evil future self trapped him in the Ghost Zone of the future while he went back to take Danny's place and ensure that his family died on schedule. After a lot of effort Danny stopped him and trapped him in the thermos. Clockwork, the ghost master of time, rewound time so that none of it had ever happened.

Personality:

Danny has a laid-back and easygoing personality, but can be very sarcastic and cynical at times. He is very stubborn and over protective of his family and friends. Danny has a lame sense of humor, which often manifests itself as corny puns. In public he seems like nothing more than a typically lazy, klutzy and easily bullied teenager. And in a sense, he is still one. He likes to hang out with his friends and listen to popular music. He enjoys bowling and video games. He is bad at math, but loves astronomy. And Danny has all the typical teenage worries about school and family.

But thinking that was all there was to Danny Fenton would be a terrible mistake. Deep inside, Danny has an overdeveloped sense of duty and a streak of responsibility a mile wide. He genuinely wants to do the right thing, and will do so even if it hurts him. As he put it once, 'I can't ignore a cry for help.' This feeling of responsibility and justice has often driven him to help even people who are normally his enemies. He has a habit of blaming himself every time someone gets hurt that he could have saved.

At the same time, his determination to do the right thing has put him in conflict many times with the desire to use his powers for selfish purposes. He has been tempted in the past To play pranks on the school bullies and to get out of trouble with his parents. But every time he has given into this urge it has always come back to hurt him.

More than anything else, Danny has always dreamed of acceptance. That he could tell the world about his secret and he wouldn't have to fear being shipped off to a lab to be experimented on. That people wouldn't automatically assume he has evil intentions every time he meets them. That they could accept that he only wants to help. And that he wouldn't have to face his own parents as enemies half the time.

He would like to believe that the world would accept his ghost side, but he has spent too much time being treated as a monster by the media and ghost hunters. He has a hard time believing that the entire world could change their minds about him that quickly.is just a little too cynical to put too much faith in that.  At some level he has accepted that he doesn't truly belong to either world. He's too much of a ghost to be human and too much of a human to be a ghost. He will never be just an ordinary kid. And if he isn't okay with it, at least he has come to terms with it.

Living as a supernatural vigilante has left Danny with some lasting personality traits. He is always a little paranoid, always waiting for the next ghost attack or the next ghost-hunter to come after him. He has serious trust issues, as well. The only people he trusts completely are his friends Sam and Tucker, his sister Jazz, and a ghost named Clockwork. He is still wary of adults. He may like some of them, but he never trusts them completely. Perhaps because every new adult he has considered trusting in the past year has ended up betraying him on some level.

Danny's greatest fear is himself. In an adventure with time travel, Danny met a future version of himself that was everything he had never wanted to be. His 'evil jerky future self' (as Danny called him) was a sadistic psychopath who only understood destruction. He had murdered his human half in a way that was 'better left unsaid'. He'd destroyed most of the world simply because he could. He'd murdered an unknown number of humans, destroyed cities, and sadistically mutilated ghosts. When he discovered Danny in the future, he had trapped him there and returned to Danny' present solely to ensure that all of Danny's family and friends died on schedule. Danny is terrified of ever becoming something like that. Worst of all, he could sort of understand some of the decisions that version of him had made, and that scared him. He made a promise to his family never to become that. But hasn't forgotten any of it.

Danny is afraid that some day he won't be strong enough or fast enough to save someone. At the same time, he is afraid of becoming too powerful. From his adventures in time, he knows that in only ten years he could be so powerful that no one would be able to stop him if he ever fell.

Other:
Danny is a completely separate character from his evil future self who is already in the game.  Although they share half of a ghost, Danny is just as much a part of Vlad and belongs to a completely separate timeline.

As a half-ghost Danny has access to a number of ghost abilities.  These include invisibility, intangibility, and the ability to shape ectoplasm into blasts and shields.

First Person (entry type):

Is a non-working vacation too much to ask for? I mean, come on. One day off. After what happened last week I deserve that.

[A dark-haired teenage boy is scowling unhappily into the camera. He sighs heavily and drags a hand through his hair. Somehow it always ended up like this.]

I didn't think it was possible, but Vlad's become even more of a fruitloop than he was before.  I mean, he was bad before.  But kidnapping and cloning me?  How does that even make sense?  And that's not even getting into what he tried to do to Dani.

Could he possibly get any worse?

[He freezes and moans miserably.]

...Oh, great. I think I just jinxed myself.

Third Person:

The problem with being the half-ghost son of ghost-hunters, Danny thought, was the way he constantly ended up in bizarre situations. Apart from, you know, the whole being hunted by his own parents part. Nothing could ever top the sheer wrongness of listening to your parents discussing the best way to dissect your alter ego. Talk about things that no amount of therapy could ever erase.

Still, the point was, if he hadn't been a ghost and if his parents hadn't been incredibly overenthusiastic ghost-hunters he wouldn't end up in situations like this nearly as often. Case in point, the ridiculously oversized and ominous looking invention he was helping his Dad install on the roof of the Fenton Ghost Assault Vehicle.

"So, uh, Dad, what exactly was it that this did again?"

His Dad puts down the welder and grins broadly at Danny, practically radiating the sense of cheerfully enthusiastic incompetence that had made the Fentons known and dreaded by most of Amity Park. "I'm glad you asked! This, son, is the Fenton Ecto-obliterator! Just wait till you see what this baby can do to that ghost kid! First it will suck him into this box and then the ectolasers fry him until he's nice and toasty! Mmm, toast. Could you toss up the Fenton Ecto-Wrench?"

Pushing down the sense of nausea that particular description had created, Danny fishes through the toolbox and retrieves a completely ordinary wrench with the Fenton logo printed on the handle. The teen rolls his eyes at his parent's obsession with embossing that on everything and hands it up. "And the thing with all the glowing knives you just added?"

"That was the Ghost Ginzu! We don't want ghosts to have any chance to get away. And this way he'll be all sliced and ready for us to study! This time we'll get that ghost boy for sure!"

Danny's face pales at the thought. Why was it that each of his parent's inventions seemed worst than the last? "Right, Dad. You have fun with that. I think I just remembered some home work that I have to do. In my room. Away from here."

Character: Michael
Fandom: Earthian
Character Notes:
History:
Eden is an ancient alien planet whose inhabitants have been watching over the Earth since its birth over four-billion years ago. The inhabitants of this planet have, in recent years, determined the Earthians – or humans – a threat, not only to their own planet, but to Eden as well. Though it isn’t fully explained by Yun Kouga how the Earthians are a threat to Eden, it is insinuated that the pollution amassed by humans over the years is spilling over onto Eden and affecting the planet, these effects are never really expanded on, but it doesn’t seem too severe. There also appears to be a split sentiment between the members of Eden who dislike the Earthian just because of the attitude in general and how the Earthian appear barbaric to them, and there are those who would spare the Earthian because they feel it is not Eden’s place to pass judgment.

In order to remedy the disparity between those who would seek the demise of the Earthians and those who would spare them, a system of checks was established. If the Earthians accumulated 10,000 minus checks then they would be destroyed, if the Earthians accumulated 10,000 plus checks then they would be saved. Under this new system some of the people of Eden would endure special training at Valhalla, a surveillance base on the surface of the moon (though in contrast it has also been called a moving palace existing somewhere in Earth’s solar system). There the inhabitants of Eden, otherwise appropriately referred to as Angels by the unwitting Earthians, train to be plus checkers or minus checkers. Once the checkers have finished their training they are split into pairs of one plus checker and one minus checker and then they are sent to Earth to observe Earthian behavior and collect data. Their data is meant to be objective in order to reflect their particular position and is sent back to Eden to be reviewed by a higher authority of Angels including Archangels.

This is the premise of Earthian.

Michael’s own story takes place over 100 years prior to the main storyline. He was born into Eden’s class of privilege along with his twin sister Lucifel. Not much is known about his childhood, but apparently when he and his twin sister were younger, Lucifel was abducted and held for ransom and apparently she was abused by her abductor. The incident changed Lucifel in many ways and in order to ease her nightmares and quell his sister’s suffering Michael gave his sister a secret name so that her abductors wouldn’t be able to find her. Since then Lucifel developed an unhealthy attachment to her twin brother Michael, one that created a conflict within Michael himself and within their family. Lucifel’s new, abrasive, almost violent personality had a terrifying effect on their parents. Not only that, but Lucifel’s attachment to Michael bordered on obsessive, to the point where she would hate anyone who became close to him. Finding this unnatural their parents separated the twins.

Eventually Michael entered Military School, quite possibly Valhalla, but this is not specifically stated. There he would meet fellow student Raphael, who was from a lower status than Michael. So impressed at merely the first sight of him, Michael was quick to initiate a friendship with Raphael, in spite of all of the remarks around him that Raphael was not from a noble class, but this did not matter to Michael. Raphael quickly became Michael’s best friend and his roommate at school and soon it became clear that Raphael wanted more from Michael than just a friendship, but it was unclear if Michael felt the same. In spite of this Raphael and Michael were at peace with one another at school, until summer vacation brought both of them to Michael’s home where Raphael would meet Michael’s twin sister for the first time.

Lucifel hated Raphael intensely from the off and they both despised one another for the same reason – they held a special place in Michael’s heart. Lucifel’s antagonistic behavior towards Raphael was simply because he was close to Michael and she couldn’t stand it due to her own twisted romantic love for her twin. Raphael’s mutual hatred was inspired by his inability to express himself as openly or as physically toward Michael as Lucifel did, because homosexuality is a crime on Eden, as well as incest. Lucifel was willing to make that sacrifice, but Raphael was more conscious of hurting Michael by doing something that would make him have to carry a criminal’s burden. Lucifel also considered Raphael a coward for not going after and trying to win Michael’s love.

As things progressed Raphael and Lucifel became more competitive with one another over Michael and to this end Lucifel enrolled herself into their school. They became competitors in everything from academics to athletics all with Michael in the middle trying to ease the tension. Eventually some of Michael’s ambiguous affections for Raphael come to the surface. When Lucifel fell ill, so did Michael, a consequence of their being twins. During this period Michael wouldn’t let Raphael leave his side and insisted on him staying so that the other would hold him while he slept. In his delirium Michael let slip the name “Lue” which is the nickname he gave to Lucifel when they were young.

Then the story introduces Gabriel, a friend of Lucifel who is actually in love with her and jokingly points out how close Lucifel, Raphael and Michael are. In spite of her love for Lucifel, Gabriel stated that she has feelings for Raphael, but that’s only because he would make a good partner to have children with. Both Gabriel and Raphael agree that it’s their duty to leave decedents for the dwindling population of Eden, while Michael and Lucifel insist that it isn’t love. That’s when we learn something about Michael’s character. Raphael, concerned for Michael, wanted to help him find a partner, but Michael was quick to tell him that he would only have sex with someone he loved.

Not long after this event did Raphael’s jealousy over the twins’ “perfect love” inspire him to antagonize Lucifel again, this time by using her secret name and telling her that Michael was the one who told it to him. This knowledge enraged Lucifel to the point of tears as she couldn’t believe that Michael would ever tell anyone their secret. Gabriel, who was present as well, left with Raphael, who insisted on talking with her, in spite of her desire to go with Lucifel. We can infer that Raphael’s conversation with Gabriel led to almost-sex that Gabriel couldn’t go through with. Raphael easily deduced that it was because she was in love with Lucifel, but he didn’t let that stop him from making a contract with Gabriel. Raphael didn’t care if Gabriel loved Lucifel or if they committed the crime of homosexuality as long as she would marry him and bring Raphael into the nobility class so he could stay close to Michael forever.

After Raphael and Gabriel made their contract, Gabriel ran to Lucifel’s room and the two spent the night together. They are caught by Raphael in the aftermath, but aside from lecturing Lucifel for leaving the door unlocked he was disinterested in what the two women did in their relationship.

As Michael, Raphael, Lucifel and Gabriel graduated, Gabriel and Raphael married as per their agreement and Lucifel went into the field of medicine. Lucifel and Gabriel continued to see one another while Lucifel became a doctor. It’s then that we learn that the Angels of Eden are suffering from an epidemic, a cancer that turns their white wings black and eventually kills those who are infected by it. Lucifel had been researching the cancer, and she explained to Raphael, whom she was checking for signs of the cancer, that she found the black hair and wings to be beautiful while he found them to be ominous.

It wass after a brief stretch of peace between the four that Lucifel broke up with Gabriel and finally slept with her brother Michael before disappearing from their lives. She gave birth to Michael’s son before leaving the infant to be adopted by another noble family, the Sakura family; this child would eventually grow to be Kagetsuya, one of the protagonists in the main story line. After a lengthy hiatus Lucifel reemerged one last time to speak with Raphael, telling him that she had the cancer and that she was dying. They reminisced about their history together, which is the same information above; it was all told from the perspective of Lucifel and Raphael in their last meeting. She told Raphael that together they were one whole and that Raphael should pledge himself to Michael before subsequently slitting her own throat as opposed to suffering the cancer.

Roughly 90 years later Michael has achieved the commanding officer position in Eden and Raphael achieved the place at his side, assisting him. This is about the same time that Michael adopted Chihaya, though he was going to adopt Kagetsuya he changed his mind, probably due to the fact that Kagetsuya looked too much like Lucifel and that deep down inside he knew Kagetsuya was the product of their sin and he couldn’t endure it.

Personality:
Because Yun Kouga never really takes us into Michael’s depths, some of his personality traits are enigmatic and shallow to a degree. Meaning you mostly have to take Michael at face value, in spite of the rare moments where it looks as though something may be happening underneath the surface.

So what can be concluded from this is that Michael is, perhaps, the opposite of his twin sister Lucifel in many ways. He doesn’t wear his heart out on his sleeve and tends to express himself indirectly and sometimes destructively, such as the case with Secret Garden when he “accidentally” cuts himself on a pencil sharpener and threatens to do it again if Raphael refuses to spend time with him. It can make him seem rather childish at times, but as Chihaya has pointed out, Michael is a “uke” or passive and he has a more difficult time initiating things. It doesn’t help that there are laws on Eden that forbid any physical expression of love between two Angels of the same gender and due to Michael and Raphael’s positions as Archangels they have to be even more subtle. The strength of that subtlety is articulated on one special occasion when Raphael asked Michael if he had ever tried to “seduce another man” and when Michael says “you” Raphael doesn’t believe him. Still, when topics of romance are brought up Michael tends to make very indirect commentary about how he’ll only have sex with/marry someone he loves, or he’ll never get married because there was someone for who he was never able to express his feelings to. It’s difficult to suss out who he’s talking about as it could either be Lucifel, who is deceased, or Raphael, who is married and by law nothing could happen between them. Odds are it is Raphael. In spite of his love for Lucifel, if he had been romantically in love with her he might have expressed it during the one night they spent together. He never said that he loved her and it’s possible he merely indulged her because of the strength of their bond.

Because Raphael is such a fixture in his life, in that they are rarely seen out of one another’s presence, it makes their interactions a sort of landmark where Michael’s personality traits are concerned. His interactions with other characters, however, reveal a little bit more about his personality as time goes on.

Usually where his adopted child, Chihaya, is concerned he is laid back and playful despite having adopted him as an alternative to adopting Kagetsuya who is his real son. It’s possible that he could not face that inalienable fact, this living proof of what happened between himself and Lucifel after a night of indulging her whims. On top of that Kagetsuya shares her uncanny looks and it’s probably a source of loss and sadness for him as well. In any case adopting Chihaya had been a whimsical and a sympathetic decision. It is a fact that Michael doesn’t care about looks or status, and with Chihaya being a mutation with black hair and wings it made his adopted son an outcast. To an extent Michael chose Chihaya because of his incredible talents and because he found his different looks to be intriguing, but he was also an alternate to having to pick Kagetsuya who was a top contender as well.

In one of Michael’s first interactions with his adopted son he playfully tells a 14 year old Chihaya to call him “daddy” and when Chihaya shows a lack of confidence and total disbelief that an Archangel could actually adopt him, Michael is quick to say that he “despises” the weak of heart while at the same time stating that in spite of appearances all of the inhabitants of Eden are made up of flesh and bone, further cementing this concept that Michael doesn’t care so much about status or who people are on the outside.

Michael is also a bleeding heart and a self-sacrificing character which is shown in a variety of ways. Several examples are seen in how he handles discipline where the misgivings of others are concerned. When Chihaya reveals himself, that is when he shows his wings, to three different Earthians, which can result in demotion or other punishments; Michael’s punishment is purposefully lenient. He says if Chihaya can make it snow in Hawaii then all would be forgiven and he knew Chihaya could do this with ease. Michael’s true motives for creating a gathering of their fellow Angels to discuss Chihaya’s punishment really boiled down to the fact that he wanted to see a burn wound his adopted child had gotten on another assignment. He and Raphael also took bets on whether Kagetsuya would be Chihaya’s lifeline or not, indicating how serious he was about punishment. He clearly does not take a hard line.

Another example was when the fallen Archangel Seraphim (angels fall when they betray Eden and side with Earthian’s) passed away from the cancer plaguing Eden. In spite of Seraphim’s abandonment of Eden, Michael was distraught over his death; it was Raphael who had to tell him to get a hold of himself.

One final example and one that illuminates his self-sacrificing trait, is after the trial of Chihaya and Kagetsuya, when it was discovered that the two had slept together, the two were thrown in cells. When Eden’s ship, the Metatron, was attacked by a group of black-winged Angels from Earth, Michael checked on Chihaya to make sure that he was okay. He discovered one of the Angels from Earth was aboard the ship and had come to steal Chihaya away. Instead of trying to stop them from escaping, Michael let them go—rather that then to have to endure the knowledge of Chihaya’s imprisonment, or even worse, his death sentence. Michael let this happen knowing full well he would spend the remainder of his own life behind bars.

Despite having a laidback attitude in some situations, Michael can also be very passionate and this, according to Raphael, makes him an excellent leader. It’s true that he is very reactive in high pressure situations, but conflict in general, does have a tendency to wear him down and even Michael admits that he can only maintain his composure in high pressure situations for so long. When it comes to battle he’s able to maintain his control, but when it comes to loved ones he finds it difficult, such as when Chihaya began asking about Eden’s intentions for Earth, the conflict it created between them deeply upset Michael and Raphael had to take over.

Other:
There is a misconception about the inhabitants of Eden, though they call themselves Angels and Archangels, they have no connection to angels in a religious context. They are an ancient alien species that resemble humans with retractable wings. They have superhuman abilities including increased speed and strength. While Michael’s abilities are never expounded upon within the series we can assume that he has the ability to heal the wounds of others by licking them. This seems to be common as Raphael and Kagetsuya can do it and since Kagetsuya is the child born from Michael and Lucifel’s sin it makes them almost copies of one another. It’s also possible that Michael can communicate with birds as well, but again, his abilities are never explained only implied through his close, genetic connection to Kagetsuya. He can fly, naturally, and teleport to some extent. Finally, there are a great many of plot holes in Earthian which is why parts of Michael’s history and personality are disjointed and some things are simply left unexplained.

Additional Links: While wiki has a link that covers the Earthian OVA for the most part, there are few sites that go in depth and cover characters like Michael and Raphael. Those that did have gone and died…a sad, sad thing:

First Person (entry type):

[When the feed cuts on it’s self-evident that the person being filmed by the community is both unaware and too preoccupied with something else to be even remotely concerned about whether or not a device is taping him.

It's possible that he is aware that he's being watched by something else and he doesn't really care.

A quick glance at his surroundings suggests that the man is sitting in a solitary prison cell with moderately comfortable accommodations. The man himself appears almost neutral where the small luxuries are concerned…probably due to the fact that he is the most interesting thing in his cell.

He sits, for the moment, quietly on his cot, a set of glorious white wings protruding from his back…or at least they must have been glorious, because at the moment they looked somewhat unkempt and he was clearly shedding as in his hands there were a number of white feathers…and more still slowly spiraling their way down to the floor.]

It seems that prison life doesn’t agree with me so well; though being shackled doesn’t make grooming any easier [holds his wrists up and tests his bonds with some mild irritation] do they think that moving me from a smaller cell to a larger cell will make any difference in my ability to escape. Really…it’s a little unnecessary…I’d much rather they left me where I was, at least they allowed me to move my arms…but if this is life in a solitary prison cell then…

[He heaves a long-suffering sigh before getting up and pacing to the other side of his gilded cage.]

I suppose I can’t be too upset, I don’t regret what I’ve done, but I still cannot help worrying about my dear Chihaya…I imagine that’s probably what’s causing my distress.

[Holds up the handful of feathers once more before releasing them, letting them scatter across the floor.]

I hope he’s okay wherever he is…[he reaches up to pinch the bridge of his nose looking somewhat distressed]…ripping his wing off, even if it was for Kagetsuya, I can’t imagine. I suppose, as a gesture of love there is an unexpected beauty to it…but he was losing a lot of blood…

[He shakes his head at this point as if trying to dispel some horrible thought from his mind]

…I also understand the Metatron has backed off of the Earth and the humans. Chihaya should be pleased…though it’s very likely that Raphael is enraged…underestimating the Earthian.

[A vague smirk forms at the corner of Michael’s lips, but it disappears just as quick and he finally takes a seat behind the device that’s recording him]

Even surveillance cameras, I didn’t realize I was such a threatening presence…but I am grateful. Limited access to Eden’s database, Raphael’s doing I’m sure; though I didn’t think he had quite the sense of humor…at least I don’t remember the database being adorned with ducks.

I guess things change when you’re in the big house.

Third Person:

When asked why he had done it, Michael had been unable to answer.

Actually he simply couldn’t find the words right then and there, not while he was holding the bloody mass of feathers and bones that had once been his beloved child’s wing. Michael was simply stunned, perhaps that was part of the reason he could only stand there, frozen to the spot, but the reality was he let Chihaya escape. His only logic was that he couldn’t bear to see his adopted son suffer any more than he already had…and if he had to bear witness to Chihaya’s execution…well the Archangel did not think he could endure it. So perhaps his reasons were selfish in the eyes of the system, but love was his motivation…

Love was a beautiful thing…

Love had imposed a life sentence upon him for helping to aid in the escape of a prisoner who had committed high treason. How could it be that love had become such a dangerous and unforgiveable crime? It wasn’t as though his child had denied anyone else of their own autonomy or their life which was a crime even more heinous in Michael’s opinion. He was beginning to feel as though the paranoia on his home planet had wrapped its fingers around the throat of his fellow Angels and was now throttling what sense they had left to them. If they were a race of creatures so stagnant that they would condemn love then perhaps they were more savage than the Earthians, perhaps their ancient race had de-evolved somehow.

That is why Michael had no regrets…

The only mystery in his life was when had he begun to care about Chihaya so much that throwing away his life and his accomplishments was no more or less complicated than taking out the garbage. The little black-winged angel of Eden, when Michael had adopted him, was a top scoring candidate for military school. He was also unique. He wasn’t Kagetsuya. From these shallow reasons Michael had developed an unfathomable love for his adopted son and it was for his happiness that the Archangel had committed his crime. Perhaps that’s what it was to be a father…

Ah, Chihaya, wherever he was Michael could only hope that he was okay…

Wherever he was Michael hoped that his son knew how much he cared…

Another nagging source of pain for Michael was his longtime companion Raphael, Raphael who could free him if he wanted to. Raphael who was now the commanding officer. Raphael who attacked the Earth, even though Michael had pleaded with him not to. He couldn't even begin to sort out his feelings on this strain in their relationship...hurt, betrayal, shock? Right now he was still in the processing state of things, something that only time would sort out.

We're sorry, but this application has been rejected. We have some concerns over the way her personality is portrayed in your samples-- we would recommend reviewing how she carries herself with others, as we feel that the timidity you portrayed is not an accurate representation of her character.
