Character Notes: History: To Kyousuke, the most important thing was enjoying his life. As a child growing up, he did the best he could to make the most of his every day experiences, and of course, he was determined to drag along as many people as possible with him. He started the Little Busters with his younger sister Rin, exclaiming that they would be protectors of justice. It was not too long that he "defeated" (and consequently befriended) Masato and Kengo, two other young boys, and asked orphan Riki to join them, turning the Little Busters from a brother and sister pair to a group of five friends out to have the time of their lives.
Fast forward to Kyousuke's final year in high school. Job-hunting begins for the seniors, and he himself is no exception. But through all of this, he wishes to still relive the fun and excitement of his childhood one last time before entering the adult world, and together with his five friends, he creates a baseball team that shared their group name from when they were young: The Little Busters. With them, they begin to play and share the fun day, after day, after day.
Until the day of the second-year field trip. Masato, Kengo, Rin and Riki, all being the same age and in their second year, were attending a trip with the rest of their class. Kyousuke, not wanting to be left out of the fun, stowed away on the bus. However, while on the road, the bus crushed in an accident, and fell off a roadside cliff, with Riki and Rin the only ones who came out unharmed. Kyousuke, knowing they were not ready to take care of themselves in light of this cruel turn of evidents, while heavily injured and suspicious that no one else may survive this ordeal, wished with all of his might. That they would not have to see this harsh reality. Not yet.
Through this wish, he, along with Masato and Kengo, created a dream world, to relive their final semester together over, and over, before the accident. He decided to use this opportunity to help Rin and Riki mature and become stronger, so that they could live on in the real world without them.
[For the purposes of this RP, Kyousuke is taken from this point in the story. Would I need to still explain the rest?]
Personality: Kyousuke is seemingly simple, yet hard to pin down. He holds an air of innocence around him, not much different from that of a child, and absolutely loves to turn any situation into a game or mission of some sorts. If there's an objective, you can bet he'll find some way to turn it into a little adventure, no matter how mundane the actual task may be. Late for class? We'll catapult someone through the window and get them to sign us in. Lunch rush? Dive in and eat the first thing you put your hands on. There's absolutely nothing he can't turn into a fun filled (and to many of the people around him, completely silly) contest. His emotions are typically clear, and even more evident when he reads his favorite stories and manga (all of which are shounen titles aimed for younger boys). Happiness, sadness, anger, excitement, all wonderfully clear, as if he was part of the story himself. Mostly likely because of this, he's easily moved by other's words and actions, often driving him to even take even more over the top actions. To him, living for the moment and enjoying life to it's fullest is the number one priority.
But even with all of this childness, he is incredibly mature. He knows when a situation is serious, and what do in order to contain it as much as possible. He won't hesitate to stand up for his friends, and is always willing to give out advice that isn't typical of a 17 year old boy. If there's someone in need, he will always find a way to help as much as he can. Probably thanks in part to his level of maturity, he excels at many activities, and is often seen as the leader of the group, no matter what situation he may be. His confidence is almost second to none, to the point where he can spout out completely silly things, and still manage to sound convincing.
He is a kind and caring older brother, friend, and senior student. His only regret is that he may not have much time left to be all that.
Alright, so how many of you have had anko? For those who don't know, it's red bean paste. A bit of an aquired taste. However! I myself am very fond of it. Can't get enough of it.
So I bet my roommate, who is behind me as I type this out, that I could eat a whole bowl of this, on top of vanilla ice cream. It will be delicious, I can already taste it from here.
10,000 yen is on the line. I need it for my travel expenses this week, but whoo! I can't turn down an easy challenge like this! I'm ready for this. Though none of the Little Busters know of this yet, I will begin my challenge! Mission Start!
----
So, I've decided to put off my job hunt for another two weeks. I'm going to have to wait before I can withdraw anymore money. Hell, I'm going to have to wait until my stomach feels better before I can even move.
I'm sorry I have let everyone down, but red bean paste, for sure does not go with one thing.
Mission Failed.
Third Person: How long had it been since he had last been here? A visit to the bookstore wasn't exactly something Kyousuke did on a regular basis. Typically, he would go there once every two months, buy as many manga volumes as his budget would allow, and spend the next several weeks reading and rereading them, over and over until he had practically memorized each and every detail on each panel of every page. It was hard of him to grow bored of his favorite stories, and everytime he read them, it felt like a whole new experience, and not just some washed out run-through of old material. Action, comedy, whatever. It was all enjoyable.
But today was different, for today, the latest volume of DragonStar X was just released, and he just had to get his hands on it. A smile beamed on his face, the excitement almost radiating from his body. He paid no attention to the strange looks he was getting as he walked down the street. Today was going to be a good day.
It wasn't too long before he reached the bookstore. His pace increased, the excitement almost too much for him to take. Oh man, I'm almost there. I can't wait! What would happen to Koku and the crew now that Bageta and Nubba were on their way to earth? He just had to know! "Oh! Excuse me." So far in his thoughts and musings, he had almost run into a young girl. She looked around his age, but he could tell she was not from his school, as their uniforms were different. She just smiled before turning around and walking around. She was kinda cute. If he wasn't already so set on something at the moment, he might have spent a little time talking to her. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the book she was holding in her hand. The latest volume of DragonStar X. Well, at least she had good taste. He smiled back, before turning back to the shelf where he knew he'd find his pri-
It was empty. There was not a single copy left on any of the three shelves dedicated to it. His eyes grew wide. He knew it was one of the more popular series, but it was sold out already? Unbelievable. It wasn't even 2 PM yet. Tch. I knew I should have just skipped the last hour. Great. Now he ws going to have to go back home and wait until a new shipment arri-
Wait. That girl he had just passed. She had the last volume. He turned around. She was slowly making her way to the cashier. His mind began to race, too many thoughts running through his head all too fast. He had to stop her. It was all or nothing. He opened his mouth, and called out to her. A voice just loud enough to reach her, but quiet enough to not draw too much attention.
"Wait!"
She stopped. Time began to resume at a normal pace. She looked back at him with an expression that practically spoke the question on her mind. He cleared his throat. He only had one shot at this. It would have to be convincing.
"That book is haunted."
The expression changed from questioning to downright stupified. It was no longer "what is it?" but now instead "Are you kidding me?". Kyousuke didn't waver. He kept his serious face going, and continued to speak.
"Every 11 years, on this exact day, the spirit of a girl who often spent her time alone in here comes back to haunt the latest released book, in search of a new body. She had lost her own in a tragic parking accident just outside of these very doors, but she's filled with regret. The regret that she would not live to read every book in this store. And so she hunts for a new body, in order to fulfill her own selfish dream. She doesn't care if it's a man or a woman, and that's precisely why I'm warning you. I happen to be her younger brother. She constantly haunts my dreams, warning me of the latest book, the next victim. I had to come here to stop you. Please..." He bowed down to the girl. "I don't want her to follow through with her demented wishes." He couldn't see the girl's face. Did it work? After a few moments of silence, he could see the girl, bowing as well, thanking him for warning her, before she walked back to the shelf, returning the book, and making her way out of the store. He watched her go, and as soon as she was out of sight, his childish smile of glee returned right back to his face. Alright Koku! Here I come!
