Third Person:
"Blue is a color that calms the heart" was how Karen liked to explain it, and this time would likely be no different. She'd seen Rin paying special attention to a pot of red tulips over the past few weeks, and knowing her luck, today would be the day the other girl decided to bring them in. Well, Karen wasn't going to lose today--after all the chaos yesterday, "calm" would definitely sound appealing to everyone. Her violets would get the most prominent placement in the store.
It was Jiiya, now that she thought about it, who'd introduced her to what blue did. It'd been when she was little, and her parents had just recently left. She'd been crying, and trying to pretend she wasn't--looking back, there was no possible way she could have fooled anyone--and to try to calm her down, he'd had her help him decorate one of the guest rooms in white and blue. It hadn't helped, but once they were done, it was amazing how much calmer she felt in that room.
Of course, times had changed since then--she'd learned to keep careful control of herself, with just a few minor slips that were mostly caused by Nozomi in one way or another. But that didn't mean she didn't still feel upset inside, and so when her parents had to cancel a trip home, or when the stress from student council work got to be too much, or when she yelled at Nozomi about something and was worried Nozomi would hate her now, it was good to have whatever help she could get.
Besides, she knew for a fact that Rin did not like blue, and Rin needed to be taken down a peg or two lately.
