Nathan Young | Misfits 2/3

Sally realizes that he’s armed with a water pistol, not a real one, and interrupts Nathan’s speech about freedom and individuality. In the subsequent scuffle, both fall down the roof and Nathan ends up impaled on the iron fence below. Sally’s death, however, lifts her influence over everyone and they return to their real personalities. Nathan is buried and at the end of the episode he wakes up inside his coffin, wounds healed and unable to get out. He has a power: Immortality.

Note: I would like to play Nathan from this point, at the beginning of the second season. He’s rescued from the coffin after the rest of the misfits visit his grave and Kelly hears his thoughts.

Personality:

In short, Nathan is the epitome of the Jerkass Woobie trope. He is disrespectful, immature, hypocritical, selfish, and he calls people names; he mocks everyone mercilessly and annoys the hell out of people. Most of the time, the rest of the chars feel the urge to hit him, and more often than not they do exactly that. Kelly is the one who calls him out when he’s being mean to Simon or acting extremely annoying in general.

Nathan wants to be the center of attention and probably has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Everything is a game to him; he’s rarely serious and cares little about what others think of him. And that’s why, maybe because of some sort of karmic payback, he’s often put in troublesome situations. It’s in those sort of situations where it gets hard to hate a character like Nathan, because they make it obvious how messed up his life really is, and why he acts the way he does. It’s also in those situations where his heroic side is more noticeable.

The few moments when he shows more serious behaviour are often triggered by the mention or the presence of his father. Nathan might be a jerk, but at the same time, he can be really caring and protective (like he is with his mother and brother, and with some of the girls he meets). He's got a hidden softer side, and he confessed to Kelly that, while he likes her, he is not very good when it comes to feelings. As the episodes progress, he starts to show more concern for his companions, acting more vulnerable and showing remorse for things that he's done in the past.

Other:

- His power is immortality, but when he dies it takes him some time to get back to life. That's why the first time it happened, he woke up trapped in a coffin. However, he can't heal himself; he can only do it when he's completely dead.

-As a result of his powers, he can see phantoms and talk to them as if they were still alive.

-Age is between 18-22, has curly hair, big green puppy dog eyes (http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_le9r3qqATT1qben77o1_500.gif); he's sort of skinny and he smokes.
