Only he forgot to grease it first, leaving the bottom a scorched crust. I believe the word "indelible" was used.
Finally, imagine that, having practically ruined the pan in the first place, he then attempted to scrub it with steel wool and, I must say, was so successful that he actually gouged out portions of the bottom of the pan.
