Akihiko Sanada - Persona 3 Portable .pt2

[identity profile] roboting.livejournal.com 2010-08-20 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Character: Akihiko Sanada
Fandom: Persona 3 (Portable)
Character Notes:

History:
-Lived in an orphanage with his sister, Miki and Shinjiro Aragaki
-Nothing is said about his parents, they may have abandoned them or died
-A fire destroyed the orphanage and Miki died in it. This made Akihiko sadface.
-Because of Miki's death he joined the boxing team at school to become stronger.
-He met Mitsuru at Gekkoukan and she gave him a gun. He was like "wat" and she was like "lol no it's an evoker for your Persona dummy!"
-He, Mitsuru and Shinji become the group called SEES to find out what the Dark Hour and Shadows are about.
-Shinji kills Ken's mother, whoops! He leaves. Akihiko gets mad and uses this to make himself stronger.
-He spends a lot of time trying to get Shinji to come back.
-Minako appears at the dorms and things start getting more interesting.

I'm taking him from this point in the game. If a detailed history section is needed I can provide.

Personality:
The best way to describe Akihiko is strong and determined. He's the captain of his school's boxing team and has never lost a match to anyone. He likes taking on difficult challenges due to his competitive nature and he doesn't like to admit to failure readily.

He has an aura about him that causes people to look up to him, and in the case of girls, fawn over him. He's an able student and a good role-model, doing quite well in his exams and studying when necessary. He also seems cool and distant to those who know little about him, never getting overly emotional about things. This adds to his mysterious aura.

When it comes to socializing, especially with girls, Akihiko is a pretty awkward guy. The girls at school literally throw themselves at him but he doesn't really see it and just sees them as a nuisance. The guy doesn't even know what love feels like until someone tells him. He also doesn't really make friends outside of SEES members and only truly opens up to those he knows very well. Those who have the privilege of getting to know him well can see he's a trustworthy friend who won't give up on them and will fight no matter the cost.

Before Shinji was injured though, it was different. Akihiko would try to ignore his past and keep even those close to him at a distance. Because of his failure to save Miki he would be furious at any weakness he showed and would keep striving to get stronger; even the slightest sign of weakness would bother him. But from seeing Shinji take death head on he finds resolution in his heart (gaining a new persona, Caesar) and vows to do the same - to stop worrying about his past and his weaknesses. Because of this he faces challenges with a new sense of determination. He was the first of the group to say he will take on Nyx even if the odds of winning are impossible. He would rather die in a struggle than give up without a fight.

Akihiko isn't all serious, calm and mysterious though. He's a friendly guy and has a sense of humour. He took on Junpei's bet of who could be the first to pick up a girl, and he doesn't mind teasing people he's close to. He can joke and laugh just like any other teenager (even joking about sneaking into Tartarus wearing Junpei's hat).

Strengths:
-Akihiko is mostly a calm and collected person. He doesn't have emotional outbursts like Junpei and can work out a strategy for situations. He's a very good leader too because of this.
-He's strong, years of training and boxing will do that. He's never lost a match.
-He has no problem summoning his Persona; he doesn't hesitate to use his evoker.
-He's a caring guy. He will look out for those close to him no matter what.

Weaknesses:
-He can be stubborn, and sometimes won't accept that he's failed. (it took him months to accept that Junpei won the bet).
-He tries to carry all his problems on his own. He's not really one for sharing them and lifting the weight from his shoulders with just anyone.
-Akihiko is a normal teenager and as such is susceptible to all things a normal teenager is.
-He fears losing people close to him and finds it hard to let new people get close.
-He's awkward in certain social situations, and sometimes acts completely oblivious to what he's saying. One might say he's inarticulate.
