Re: Vegeta (DBZ) Part 4
On one of Freeza's planets, Prince Vegeta is inside a rejuvenation machine, recuperating from his harsh battle on Earth. His body is limp, he's badly bruised and barely conscious. In his subconscious mind, however, his thoughts are focused on one thing.
His mind was playing back when his battle with Kakarrot first began. He had been facing his unworthy opponent in a mountainous wilderness. Vegeta had first said to Kakarrot "You should feel lucky. Not every low class warrior gets the opportunity to spar with a super elite like myself." Then he explained in detail how a Saiyans' strength is determined as soon as they're born. The low-class saiyans are sent to conquer weak planet. "In other words, Kakarrot" Vegeta sneered "You were cast out like a dog!" How did Kakarrot respond to this? He grinned with confidence and said "Maybe even a lower class outcast can surpass an elite when he puts his mind to it!"
Kakarrot's comment amused Vegeta at the time. But now it was starting to piss him off. For early into the battle, Kakarrot unleashed a power that was indeed greater than Vegeta's own. A technique that raised his Ki level tremendously and allowed him to keep up with Vegeta's attacks. He then proceeded to make the Saiyan prince actually feel pain; pain that he had never felt before. He could actually see and feel his own blood! Could he have done it? Could Kakarrot have scaled a new wall of power through effort alone? Could he have surpassed the immense power of the Saiyan Prince just through training?
NO! Vegeta cannot accept it. He was of royal blood. He had been born with a power even greater than that of his own father and through training to use this power properly, he had grown even stronger. A low class peice of filth like Kakarrot could never be his equal, much less his superior in strength! It was only through luck that he was able to match his power. And he only survived because of his damn half-breed son and his cursed earthling friends. But a Saiyan grows stronger after every battle he fights. The greater the damage, the greater the increase of Ki. Kakarrot would probably get stronger once he recovered, but so would Vegeta! And once he's able to claim the eternal life he seeks from Nameks' dragon balls, Vegeta knows he will become an invincible warrior! Then he can finally show Kakarrot the power of a true Saiyan elite; the power that can only be possessed by a warrior of high class!
