History:
Personality:
Nero is what would seem like the black sheep from all the others of Fortuna's church mates. He's quite emotional, and easily displays anger and frustration easily. He isn't one to form to a certain image and a matter of fact, is quite rebellious - not uncommon with 'heros' of the series.
Most important and most obviously, unlike the others - Nero is far from religious. He's seen late to ceremonies, as well as up and leaving during them. He shows little care for the words of Sanctus, and the legend and worshipping of the knight Sparda, whom his 'religion' revolves around.
Regardless, Nero is quote loyal to those he cares for, and goes completely out of his way to help protect them. Nero gives and does his all to save and protect Kyrie, the girl who possibly holds the most of his heart.
Other:
Nero seems to like hard music. Seen at the beginning of the game wearing headphones in church, you can hear the hard metal blasting from them.
A lot of Nero's moves resemble "gambling" phrases. Predominantly, poker.
Nero has a poker face.

Give me a break! As if this is the thing I need right now... Look, self proclaimed ducks; what gives? I'm looking at certain... sites, and next thing I know this shit won't get off my screen.
So what do I think? its some ad. But then I see all these 'entries'. Which is just great. its worse than an ad - its a damn mass Blog!
Get some help, is all I'm sayin'.
Third Person:
(Roads)
Fortuna City was vast with its buildings and its alleys. Open streets and fountains that little children often wished at. Their hands would curl and meet at their chest. Their faces smiling as they felt their wishes 'being made'.
He scoffed. The wishes were no doubt 'being made' by their false God. The one they worshiped more than anything. It was such bullshit. The lies and crap they feed into these kids heads. The way they mindlessly went down the 'road to salvation' because of their loyalty in some dead goon.
Screw this. Nero wasn't a babysitter, he wasn't a church-goer, and he wasn't like the others - he got this. He knew this. The others looked at him like he was the one that stuck out. A sort of.. albino black sheep. Arms crossed, headphones on -- hard rock blaring through to the outside. He didn't care.
So festivities were made of bullshit, and today was no exception. A finger easily flicked up the volume to his music, and he walked off, down a 'lone road'. Trouble spotting, he called it. You could never been too careful -- or too far from the goons.
His path was different. Nothing felt mainstream to him like it did to them. He was to them just as unknown as their precious lord and savior. It was fine for him. The children were becoming a lost cause, and the adults were already gone. Some how there would be his own break through.
Or the forest cliff to plunge off, anyway. That however, was just a church-nap dream away.

History:
Nero's history is one of the biggest, especially for a protagonist. Not much is known about where he's from, or 'who' he really is. Nero grew up in the City of Fortuna, and is quite different from all the rest; if not just by looks alone. He doesn't exactly 'fit the mold'.
He grew up with Kyrie and Credo- being taken in at childhood as an orphan. It's apparent, as said by Sanctus (the head of this 'religion') that Nero is in fact, related to Sparda by somewhere in the bloodline. Though how, that's the big mystery. He grew up as a Holy Knight of the Order, just like Credo.
It's also a mystery how exactly Nero got his Devil Arm- but for a while, it was thought to be an injured from an accident, as he kept his arm in a sling. Nero took great care to hide this from Kyrie, and didn't want her to know about it; not wanting her to see him as a monster, or another one of the demons or devils.
When Dante attacked and slays Sanctus, this is truly where Nero's journey began. It's after this, that he starts to pursue Dante which leads him to go through the city of Fortuna. He faces many trials throughout, whether it was from hell's demons and Gate Keepers, or learning and finding many artifacts that his strange new power can "learn" from. At the castle of Fortuna, Nero meets a supposed new member, Gloria- and later when he goes deeper into the caster, to the underground, he meets Agnus, the Order's Alchemist.
At the height of an attack, and by the second of being killed, Nero's devil arm 'awakens' and it's here that he brings back to 'life' the sword that belonged to Dante's brother, Vergil. The sword Yamato.
Finally he runs into Dante again, this time, near a forest. It doesn't last long, however this throws Nero into the forest, and of course, finally to the headquarters.
Here Nero runs into Credo again, and after a short conversation (that didn't go over very well) Nero sees the power he holds, and Credo then transforms into an angel of sorts, and attacks. Nero comes out the victor, however - the price seems regrettable. Kyrie spots them both, as well as Nero with his demonic power out and showing. She assumes here that Nero was trying to kill her brother, who had already returned to his former self. Now during all this chaos, Angus swoops in to capture Kyrie, telling about the Sanctus' plans to use her for bait.
Of course, Nero goes after him- and initiates a fight between him. However, this time Nero does not come out so lucky, and Kyrie isn't rescued.
A little while after, Nero and Dante meet again - who wants Yamato back. It's his brother's, though Nero refuses- and the two fight yet again. Dante beats him in the fight, but allows him to keep his brothers sword, seeing the fact that Nero could use it more. It's now that Nero gives his name to Dante, before leaving.
By this time- there has been a large statue of Sparda. He is asked by Sanctus if he would surrender his body along with Kyrie to become the core of The Savior. All Nero wants is to save Kyrie, of course - and once again, fails to do so. Nero does however, fall into the bait that Sanctus had put together and Nero is trapped, and Yamato is once again taken.
When Credo appears, he's pissed that his sister was used as bait, and lashes out, in attempt to help free the now trapped Nero. Credo however is now slayed down by the old man - and falls from The Savior.
By this time, Nero is already absorbed by the heart of the statue, and it has now awoken and makes its move to go toward Fortuna. Dante is able to set Nero free, and after 'journeying' through more hardships, Nero is once again up against Sanctus.
Sanctus is ultimately defeated by Nero and his devil arm, and Kyrie is finally returned to him. They escape, however the fight wasn't over as the statue (of course) takes on a more daunting form - as a sort of moving statue savior. Nero defeats it once more, and finally comes to term with himself being of Devil blood.
His journey ends here, for the time. Dante makes his exit, and Nero and Kyrie are left in Fortuna together, and Nero defeats on last round of demons before getting to kiss his love.
