History:
Soifon was born Shaolin Fon, into the Fon house--a lower noble house. In the family tradition, Soifon was the youngest of six siblings and joined the
the Executive Militia of the Onitsukidō. When joining the militia, she dropped her given name and took the code name of her great-grandmother: Soifon. Her five older brothers all died in their service to the militia (the longest running career was five completed missions, dying on the sixth).

Soifon served the militia for seven years before being transferred to the corps-commander (Yoruichi Shihōin) personal guard. This event was marked by both's signature traits: Soifon said how honored she was to protect Yoruichi, using all her official titles. Yoruichi tried to convince Soifon to just call her "Yoruichi-san". Soifon was shocked, saying she wouldn't dare calling her merely Yoruichi-san, eventually settling on calling her "Yoruichi-sama". Yoruichi wasn't exactly thrilled but could tell that it would be useless with the new guard that she thought of as "so serious".

Yoruichi took Soifon under her wing--making her into her protege. They became quite close, despite their personality differences. Even though Soifon thought Yoruichi's close friend, Urahara Kisuke, was lazy and incompetent and tried to disenchant him to Yoruichi all that happened was Yoruichi ending up teasing Soifon, saying that she must have a crush on Kisuke. Soifon was unamused.

Then Urahara Kisuke got himself exiled and Yoruichi went with him, leaving Soifon behind.

Needless to say, Soifon got pissed, feeling incredibly betrayed. She swore to capture, then later kill, her former mentor--to become stronger than her, to take all her former titles. A hundred years later, Soifon became captain of the Second Division and the corps-commander of the Executive Militia: a cold contrast to Yoruichi.

Then some shit went down, and when Soifon was about to kill someone in the following events guess who showed up. That's right, Yoruichi. She tackled Soifon off a cliff into a forest. It was only until they were falling that Soifon realized who tackled her.

Cue Yoruichi using sarcasm, Soifon using all the bitterness she stored up over the last hundred years and trying to kill Yoruichi. Soifon throughout the fight thinks she has the upper hand, taunting Yoruichi saying that she hadn't gotten any stronger while she, Soifon, had. Then when Soifon thought she had Yoruichi on the ropes? She showed Yoruichi a new technique that she hadn't even thought of the name yet. It was to kill Yoruichi.

It didn't. Yoruichi already knew the technique and named it herself: Shunko. Yoruichi turned the tide of battle by using it on Soifon. Soifon, after the attack ended moved to attack her, only to be stopped and told that she's not yet strong enough to use the move. Insert Soifon raging at Yoruichi, telling how betrayed she felt at being left behind all the while attacking her. Yoruichi effortlessly evades the attacks. She ends the attacks by going in for a Shunko powered punch but stops short of actually hitting her.

Soifon's reaction? Breaking down and asking Yoruichi why she wasn't taken with. Then reconciliation! Yay! Oh wait, there was still that shit storm to take care of.

Personality: Soifon is known to be a hard taskmaster, the recruits for the Second Division is warned about this. For she's an extreme hard worker--she expects nothing less. She's extremely set in her ways, she has her beliefs and they won't be compromised for anything.

If anyone, even her subordinates, stands in the way of her goals she will not hesitate to eliminate them. This grim determination, alongside with a typically reserved manner, bred the aura of an ice queen. The fact that she ignores her subordinates--believing that this will force them to get tougher and gain moral character--rather than other 'friendlier' tactics of other Captains, only helps this reputation. She also seems to think things outside her current goals are boring.

However, this ice queen persona only really came out after Yoruichi left. Before that, she was serious and obedient but not exactly 'cold'. This betrayal of her master, her friend, the person she admired and loved changed Soifon deeply and even after the reconciliation she doesn't want to get close to anyone else. That explains why she distances herself from the Second Division--Yoruichi's betrayal forced her to gain strength and if ignoring her subordinates instills them with a hatred of Soifon? Well, hate can be a powerful motivator to gain power, as Soifon knows all too well.

Since her reconciliation with Yoruichi, the best way to describe Soifon's attitude towards Yoruichi (in several different omakes) is obsessive and childish. Very obsessive--from collecting black cat memorabilia to (in one omake) trying to take nude photographs of Yoruichi for a calender. Which she failed at, by the way. So basically? She became a stalker.

Other: Notes on the name, Soifon has many many name variations (Soi Fong, Sui-Feng, Soi Fon, Soifon, etc.). I'm using her romanized version, Soifon. This is why the name given in the wiki is different. If the mods wish me to use the name in the wiki, I will use that name but for this app I'm simply using "Soifon".

First Person (entry type): This is the place so many waste their time on. Not impressive at all. The ducks need to go--if you're going to waste your time on frivolities at least do it with some class. A cat will work. For now.

The Sixth Division has an animal with less class than a duck. A dog. This...puppy seems to like to escape from their barracks. There recently has been a number of stray cats in the area. If you add a young mongrel to the mix an inkling of what I saw the other day emerges. The mongrel is, simply put, a cat chaser.

If I weren't on a mission that day, I would have taken care of this dog. As it stands, the captain of the Sixth Division better stand up and take responsibility for this 'mascot' as I've heard it called. Such behavior...it's disgraceful.

Third Person:

It wasn't that Soifon didn't even notice the small cat following her (she did--if she couldn't notice it, that could come as a deathblow later). No, she noticed the pathetic thing padding behind her. Small, tawny, and scrawny. And hungry. Yes, hunger, the only thing that would make such a foolish animal follow Soifon. Surely there was something the cat could eat away from her. Something. Anything.

Soifon turned, looking straight at the pest. "No. Come no further," she said, as if she believed a sentence would stop a hungry stray.

Turning her back again, she stepped closer towards the Second Division barracks. The small nuisance meow-ed. No, of course words weren't going to be enough. This was getting annoying--where could that cat get some food? It would at least shut the thing up.

"That's more agreeable."

The small tawny cat looked up at her, curled up in a corner of the Second Division barracks on one of the places where the floor was heated. As for food, well. The stupid thing tripped her if anyone was foolish enough to ask. Exactly how a stray cat could trip her, that's a different story. One that Soifon knew that no one would ask for.

So the third stray cat decided to claim the Second Division as it's home, much to the puzzlement of most everyone in the Division.

More new recruits for the Second Division came in today. None of them were special--half of them will be asking for transfers by the second week, if not sooner. The only reason I even cared about this group was the raucous way Omaeda introduced himself.

Such behavior dishonors the dignity that comes with working in covert operations: I cannot allow any who work under me behave in such a matter. Omaeda won't make the same mistake again.

One of the recruits questioned my reaction. He didn't do it out of friendship for Omaeda, that was obvious. It doesn't matter whether this recruit cares for my ways--if it prompts him to get stronger? Very well. So be it. It's none of my business.

I am not here to be his or anyone's friend. They should learn this faster.
