History: Otacon's young life was just as weird as his old one, considering the first thing of any real importance that he does is sleep with his step-mother. And when I say 'sleep with' yes, I do mean in the biblical sense. His dad killed himself over it by drowning himself and nearly killed Hal's step-sister Emma along with him, which is when she deiced to start being a little bitch about everything. Hal ran off, dropped out of school and studied on the internet, and eventually graduated from MIT and Princeton. He briefly worked for the FBI but was kicked out because he decided to hack into their network.
Then, shit got real and he was hired by ArmsTech where he developed stealth camouflage and the titular Metal Gear. He was held hostage by Liquid during the Shadow Moses Incident before being found by Solid Snake. Snake told Hal that he fails life forever and Metal Gear wasn't made to be a mobile defense system like he'd thought, but instead a walking nuclear doomsday device. At first, Hal's a little weary about Snake because he killed Sniper Wolf (who Otacon had once again fallen for) but eventually he comes to terms with everything and helps Snake destroy Metal Gear.
Later, he founded Philanthropy and continued working with Snake so they could take down the Metal Gears that were being developed in different countries around the world because Ocelot is a motherfucker.
After finding out that Emma was working at the Big Shell Offshore Clean-up Facility and she informed him and Snake that lol another Metal Gear's being built here. And so, they (and Raiden) broke in there, busted some heads, blew up some Metal Gear ass, aaaand Otacon's curse struck again because Emma was killed by Vamp.
A while later, Otacon and Snake (I shit you not, they are this gay) adopted a child named Sunny Gurglewurglevich. They met up with some chick named Naomi and her and Otacon got a little friendly (three guesses what happens to her and the first two don't count). So, she was kept alive by nanomachines which stopped the cancer she had, but then, she injected herself with something that suppressed them, thus killing herself. Poor Hal...
Then, Snake doesn't kill himself (the one person able to withstand Hal's curse, evidently) and he and Otacon (and Sunny) run off into the sunset.
Re: OTACOOOOON
• He's got a mile-long tendency to panic about things that scare him which includes anything from Cyborg Ninjas to heights (though he's become a very capable helicopter pilot despite of it) to about a million and a half other things. Probably also worth mentioning is his ability to quite literally piss himself in fear.
• He likes anime, especially of the mecha genre.
• Did you know that the word gullible isn't in the dictionary, but if it was Otacon's picture would be next to it? Really, this is his biggest weakness, and he'll trust just about anyone without questioning their motives.
• He's loyal to his friends, and even in a few cases, his enemies (Sniper Wolf, mostly), to the point of sticking them up on a pedestal where they can do no wrong in his eyes.
• His self-esteem is more or less in the shitter and he always feels like every little thing is some how his fault and will try to put it right if he does something wrong or else that guilt is going to eat him alive.
• He's incredibly respectful of life, both human and otherwise, and killing doesn't sit right with him, even when Snake's doing it. On that same note, he honestly doesn't believe anyone is completely evil and thinks there's always a chance for atonement and forgiveness.
• He's shockingly optimistic considering all the things he's been through, though, and the only real hitch he has related to his rather tragic life is a fear of physical intimacy because of his curse.
• He fails social situations forever because he's never really had to be in many considering he's the classic computer nerd in that regard. However, his dependency leads him to crave some kind of human relationship, which is mostly just Snake at the moment.
• He can be a little shy and very, very awkward and usually doesn't open up to people immediately.
• But, anyone with half a brain can tell what he's thinking because he is the most emotional person ever and has no idea how to hide what's going on in his head.

"Dramadramaduck" huh? Weird name... [Ticka-ticka of typing] So is this just like a social networking site or something? Seems innocuous enough... M-maybe should make an account. Snake can't get too mad as long as I don't say much of anything...
[Long, long pause] Wait! Did I just post something!?
Third Person: Hal's eyes drooped. He grabbed his glasses off his face, setting them next to his keyboard, and rubbed his eyes with the palms of his heals roughly. In the dim light of the apartment he and Dave were stuck in at the moment, the harsh glow of his computers were starting to take their toll. He should have gone to sleep hours ago. But he thought he was getting a lead about a new Metal Gear being developed in Africa - and plus he was in the middle of torrenting some new anime he'd heard good things about - either way, he was a little adverse to turning off his computer.
He leaned back slightly, trying to stretch his back out from its hunched-over position. Otacon smiled slightly as he heard it crack a few times. Ooooh yeah that's nice. He felt himself nod off slightly before he jolted back awake. He had to keep himself up for just a few more hours. Then he could sleep all he wanted tomorrow. Though the thought of crawling into bed was quickly becoming more and more tempting. With a sigh, he turned off the monitor. He deserved the rest.
