History:

⚥ Crona is experimented on by hir mother, the witch Medusa Gorgon. Ragnarok was melted down into Black Blood. Crona's blood was replaced with the Black Blood. Crona was trained to hunt souls.
⚥ Kill a gang of minor criminals. Eat their souls. This brings Soul and Maka after them, a fight ensues. Soul is horribly injured, Spirit and Stein show up and defeat Crona and Ragnarok. Crona and Ragnarok are rescued by Medusa.
⚥ Appear on the ghost ship The Flying Dutchman and take all the souls on board. Fight Death the Kid, who is distracted by symmetry, allowing Crona and Ragnarok to escape.
⚥ Crona is sent to guard the hallway leading to the Kishin in order to ensure his revival goes smoothly. Fight Maka and Soul, are defeated by the POWER OF FRIENDSHIP and MAKA'S COMFORTING HUG. Thinking Medusa is dead, they join up with Shibusen.

⚥ MASSIVE PLOT TWIST _{(no, not really)} MEDUSA IS NOT DEAD AW SNAP. Crona is forced to spy on Shibusen, and puts one of Medusa's snakes in Marie's tea, hastening Stein's descent into insanity.
⚥ Crona feels guilty and runs off and is found by Maka. Hugs ensue. Crona is once again saved by the power of ~~POSSIBLE OTPNESS~~ FRIENDSHIP.
⚥ Crona goes off with Marie to confront Medusa and rescue Stein. Crona is massively injured, almost dies, and then is only a background character for the rest of the series.

Personality:

Apping Crona is like applying for two characters, though Ragnarok will be active less often in the game then his meister.

Crona
Crona’s gender is unknown, so this (and any sort of third-person section) will sound kind of awkward as I attempt to kick pronouns to the curb.

Nervous, jumpy, submissive, usually terrified, and soul-crushingly pessimistic (reading one of Crona’s poems made a zombie so depressed he regretted he had ever been brought back to life), Crona is described on TVTropes as “the woobiest woobie that ever woobed”.

Crona’s mindset and personality have been shaped by the actions of Crona’s mother, the witch Medusa. When Crona was very young, Medusa began conducting a variety of experiments on Crona, in an attempt to create a Kishin (because every loving mother tries to turn their child into a demon god of insanity). So, Medusa melted Ragnarok down into Black Blood, replaced Crona’s blood with this wonderful magic substance, and then (through use of such psychological torture as locking Crona in dark closets without food for days on end) killed the child’s conscience by making Crona kill small bunnies and things.

This (and some other magic spells Medusa placed on Crona) caused the child to go completely insane. Gibberingly insane. Laughing and screaming and cutting people to pieces and eating their souls insane.

Underneath the insanity though, Crona is a painfully timid individual. “I don’t know how to deal with […]” is Crona’s catchphrase, and hiding in a corner is the way to deal with most things when you don’t know what else to do (and when killing the annoyance isn’t an option). This lack of comprehending how people work and how to function in society comes from the utter lack of human contact in Crona’s life.

Ragnarok

Noisy, overbearing, bullying, tsundere, slightly perverted, and self-centered, Ragnarok is pretty much everything Crona isn’t. He bullies Crona, stealing his meister’s food and liberally delivering noogies and light punches, carrying on running commentary about Crona’s fighting skills during battles, and letting Crona take light blows (not in combat) that were meant for Ragnarok. Additionally, he enjoys the taking and eating of souls, even without Medusa’s mind-altering spells. However, he is somewhat fond of his meister (because of their shared bodies and symbiotic nature), and protects, heals, and at times even encourages Crona.

Other:

Abilities
Black Blood abilities: Blood hardens to provide protection against all by the strongest cutting attacks. Enhanced strength. Inhumanly fast healing if injured. Manipulation of blood outside of body (for example, the bloody needles attack, transforming blood splatters into flying needles, or the bloody slicer attack, in which Crona slits zir own wrist and uses that blood as a blade).

Soul Perception: Crona can see souls. Power levels, species, some basic personality traits, and if they're a Kishin Egg (have eaten the souls of innocent humans).

Ragnarok’s abilities: Transforms into broadsword, which uses sonic vibrations to act a like a buzzsaw, shredding in addition to slashing. Three different forms of his Screech attack (α, β, γ) which unleash a devastating sonic wave in conjunction with slashes of the sword. His soul resonance form results in Crona growing "wings" made of the black blood, and gaining the ability of flight.

World-note
Crona and Ragnarok are animeverse, which would put them in a different timeline from the rest of the Soul Eater cast.

[Crona is writing again, filling the magical journal with hesitant pencil marks.]

There was a test today. I'd never taken a test before.

Ragnarok stole Maka's paper and so we had to take the test in a different room. They tried to make me take it in Dr. Stein's office, but I couldn't deal with that. I can't deal with his office.

So we went to an empty classroom. And I took the test there.

I don't know how I did. I hope I passed. I think I didn't pass. It was too hard.

What about you? Do you take tests at your schools? Do you go to schools? I didn't go to school before, and it's noisy. Are your schools noisy?

Third Person:

It was raining. It didn't usually rain in Death City, so the streets were full of laughing children and smiling teenagers, and the occasional screaming mudfight between meisters.

Crona, however, was hiding in the corner booth of a Deathbuck's Coffeeshop, peeking over the back of the cushioned bench and making little smudges of breath on the glass. The rain looked nice, but if was different. It hadn't rained in Death City before (that the pair knew of), and Death City was where Crona and Ragnarok had the most experience with weather. Ragnarok whined, moving underneath Crona's skin in ways that Crona was sure were supposed to hurt, but that had stopped hurting a long time ago.

I'm bored, idiot.

"It's scary out there."

And maybe the rain was making him sleepy, maybe he didn't want to bother with it, maybe he was just complaining to complain, but Ragnarok didn't tear out of Crona's back and start pulling at his meister's face and hair, just surged forwards through Chrona's arteries and gave Crona an almost-blackout before he settled down to his normal smoothly unconscious movements and let Crona keep staring out the window, watching everyone play outside.

Since it looks as though you're planning on playing both Crona and Ragnarok together, could you give us a first-person sample for Ragnarok as well?

[A video feed, Crona flailing thin arms up above hir head at the book, which is being held in a white-gloved hand. A whine of]

Ragnarok… give it back!

[The book shakes and there’s a burst of burbling, mocking laughter. Crona flails for a little more, swatting for the book and missing before finally giving up and sinking to the bed in a curled-up heap of misery. This is obviously the go-ahead for Ragnarok, who now flips the book to face him.]

Shit! You bunch of idiots! What the hell was that for? This scrawny brat’s the one with the stupid book! If any of you screw with me like that again--Ragnarok, it wasn’t them it was a virus--we’ll come over there and kill you.

[Ragnrok leers at the video for another second or two (displaying a fairly impressive set of teeth) before slamming the book shut and ending the feed.]
