Character: Meru Otanashi

Character Notes:
History: Meru was born into a ridiculously rich family to an extremely loving father who doted over her and tried to provide her with whatever she wanted. Despite this, she entered state schooling in Japan where she seemed to live most of her young life happily.

However, one day in the playground two young boys commented on how Meru's voice sounded "weird". She was so shocked by this statement she refused to use her voice unless absolutely necessary. Indeed, for the majority of her life she hasn't spoken beyond the occasional grunts or sighs.

At some point, she was given a mobile phone. She gave herself the username of "hazukashigariyasan", meaning "full of shyness". Somewhere along the line, this is where her abusive alter ego started up. Instead of speaking to people, she communicated through abusive text messaging insulting people's appearances, intellects and their character roles.

When she moved up to high school, she entered class 2-H taught by Nozomu Itoshiki, a suicidal man who often skipped classes, jumped off the building in times of despair and did very little teaching.

In this class she met the people she could loosely classify as friends. All of these people are most certainly insane however and Meru just contributes to the general sociopathy of the class full of young serial killers, nude immigrants and one exceptionally normal person. Like all of the girls in the class, she developed a crush on her teacher as much as she would not like to admit.

Her adventures in the class are pretty strange and since the canon has no real timeline or fourth wall it's hard to say which events did happen. She has turned into a magical girl, is apparently possessed by the Devil in some degree and has had Hatsune Miku audition to do live voice acting for her. The canon is extremely loose but I will be chalking most of these events up to the bizarreness of the world she lives in.

Being a typical internet troll, it's hardly surprising she would find a community like DramaDramaDuck.

Personality: Over text, Meru is an extreme jerk. She insults everyone and doesn't seem to have many boundaries on who she can't insult even going as far to regularly abuse the teacher. Her favourite thing to pick on is the tropes present in people in her class- For example, telling people they only exist for fan service. She's also extremely frank but the one thing she doesn't do is swear. That often.

In person, Meru is extremely different. She's constantly blushing and always close to tears when someone attempts to talk to her. Even the slightest insult in person can send her running but most people don't seem to think of this. In short, you wouldn't expect her to be the source of such brutal insults.

She seems addicted to communicating over text, as she even carries a good thirty extra batteries inside her school shirt that she will pull open in front of the whole class just to continue insulting people. Even when the situation isn't favourable to her, she continues her campaign of abuse no matter what the threat posed to her is.

Removing her from her phone is a very bad idea. When out of range, out of charge or just left without text she will start spouting a demonic language that shatters glass while her eyes turn blood red with bright red rays seeping from them. This can be cured by knocking her out with a cross. It's that sort of show.

Why she is so abusive only over text is never explained but it's fairly obvious that she isn't going to quit the habit for a long time. Like with the rest of the class, her sanity is very minimal.

Other: Meru has no known supernatural abilities apart from her gibberish which has only occured once. On a physical standpoint, she's weak and short with a flat chest she is ashamed of.

First Person (entry type):This is a really stupid website, you know. I imagine half of you are shut ins with no life who are just pretending to be people from fantasy realms. It's not cool, you're just pathetic.

I wasn't sure you could make a stupider post but you just did. Wow, maybe you should stop pretending to look deep and actually get a life, okay? It's really embarassing.

Third Person: Meru kept quiet in class. Sitting in the middle of class was the best place to sit if you wanted to be ignored and Meru planned to use that information to her advantage.

As usual, her teacher arrived late. And as usual, he ranted about something in great detail while twisting his head dramtically.

A couple of students began to protest the subject of his rant- He seemed convinced Japanese people had become careless as commercial products did things for them. Quick as a flash, she saw her oppurtunity to strike.

Sliding the phone open, her fingers glided across the keyboard quickly in order to create the perfect insult.

"You're wrong, four eyes."

He reacted in a typical melodramatic manner but Meru was more fascinated in typing out as much abuse as she can.

"Someone with that short of a skirt can't be intelligent." she quickly typed out, sending it to the rude foreign girl with a skirt that flew up far too easily.

"Stop being a tsundere- No man would ever want you."

"You look like an ugly bog monster, loser."

"Why don't you just give up already?"

The more she typed, the further the fastly accelerating chaos increased as people became more and more frantic. Satisfied for now, she tucked away the phone in her pocket and fidgeted with her hair. A small blush spread across her face as she watched the teacher jump from the window. An average day.

"Hey, Meru-chan, did you do the homework?" whispered a boy behind her. She gaped and began to make tiny, quiet incoherent sounds. An even more furious blush developed over her face before she burst into tears and ran out of the classroom.
