It was raining but this did nothing to sour Gellert's mood. Despite the cold weather that made him hunch deeper into his frayed jacket, he hurried forward not to get out of the dampness but only because he was in a hurry to get to his destination. The portkey had an appointed time of 4:20pm sharp. If he missed it it would be an inconvenience that he wasn't in the mood for. His mind was focused on this meeting. A man had information for him about the Deathly Hallows but had insisted on a certain place at a certain time and wouldn't even allow a simple Apparation. The portkey was something he could control, the man had said and so Gellert had agreed to the terms.
He wasn't expecting a trap, although the thought had crossed his mind. He was confident enough that if this indeed did turn out to be some kind of trap then he could fight his way out, even with his regular wand. He was a skilled wizard. Others would be foolish to attack him, he believed.
The portkey was where and what the man had stated it would be. Gellert, his fair hair dripping wet from the drizzling rain, put his hand on the leather-bound book and almost instantly he was transported to another location.
He blinked up at snow. Shaking his head, he utter a delighted laugh before spreading his arms wide then glancing sharply around. The place and the snow reminded him of home. His childhood had been free and easy. His surroundings brought back pleasant memories and so he grinned to himself, even though his contact was currently nowhere to be seen.
After a moment of searching only with his eyes, Gellert called out - not really caring to be discreet.
"Hello out there! Where are you...?"
There was no answer.
Staying mentally alert, his gait and manner were easygoing as he began walking toward the line of trees.
