Re: Blair Waldorf // Gossip Girl (TV) (3/?)

The rift started to heal as Chuck arranged for Blair to transfer from NYU to Columbia. Having met some Columbia students previously, Blair had visited the campus and knew it was a far better fit for her than NYU could ever be. Even so, she was convinced she could not be with him and when he asked her to meet him at the top of the Empire State Building she was determined not to go. Eventually she realised that despite everything she wanted to be with him but was delayed in getting to him as Dorota went into labour. She managed to find him and explain what had happened but their happiness was short-lived – Chuck had slept with Jenny after Blair’s no-show and that was something Blair could not forgive. She exiled Jenny from the city and swore to put Chuck behind her.

That summer saw Blair and Serena on holiday in France, enjoying their shared status as single girls. Even so, Blair struggled to get over Chuck and despite her insistence that she no longer cared about what he did, she soon came to realise that even if they weren’t a couple, Chuck was a huge part of her world and so she managed to convince Chuck to throw aside his new assumed identity and return to New York.

Even so, she swore that she and Chuck as a couple were over and her return to New York saw her focused on her fresh start at Columbia. Despite the best efforts of Juliet, a Columbia student with a vendetta against Serena, Blair and her best friend were soon members of the exclusive Hamilton House. However, Blair’s future at Columbia soon came under threat when she schemed to break up the relationship between Chuck and Eva. She insisted she had done so in Chuck’s best interests but he simply saw it as her making him miserable because she hated him. Chuck declared war on Blair and became determined to make her suffer, thwarting her progress at Columbia and manipulating Jenny into coming back to the city. This led to the truth coming out about Jenny sleeping with Chuck and Dan taking revenge on Blair for ruining his sister’s interview with a top designer by humiliating her at her twentieth birthday party.

Before the war could progress any further, Blair found herself party to an intervention by Serena and Nate. Between them a treaty was agreed and Chuck and Blair swore to keep their distance from each other. This was easier said than done; following a declared truce they went through a period of casually hooking up with one another until Serena talked sense into Blair and she swore to resist his charms. She instead tried to forge a friendship but found Chuck resistant. Being friends was too difficult, but that didn’t stop them from uniting when Juliet tried to ruin Serena’s college career. Then Serena was hospitalised following a presumed drug binge and sent to the Ostroff Centre. Blair grew suspicious and, with Dan’s help, found out the truth behind Juliet’s behaviour. With Serena determined to set things right with Juliet’s brother Ben, who had been jailed following false allegations that he had slept with Serena, and Chuck determined to seek out Jack for help in stopping Lily from selling Bass Industries, Blair was stuck facing a winter break with no-one but Dan Humphrey for company.

It’s from this point in canon I intend to bring Blair into the game, just after 4.11.
