Character: Cosmo (Cosmo Julius Cosma)
Fandom: The Fairly Odd Parents

Character Notes:

History: The show is fairly random and cracky with its notion of a timeline. It's not exactly linear or normal. Time travel can even change storylines and backgrounds. So history notes here will be taken just from what is known in season one and the feature-length Abra Catastrophe.

Cosmo is a fairy and one half of Timmy Turner's fairy godparents, given to him because he was a child in 'need'. Timmy's parents pretend to leave him which in turn causes him to hire a babysitter - Vicky - who turns out to be horrible. For a year Timmy is miserable and so Cosmo and his wife Wanda are sent in to help him in the form of wishes.

These two are rarely seen apart. They usually disguise themselves as Timmy's pet goldfish (except Wanda is pink in some way and Cosmo is green - which matches their hair and eye colours), but they can also transform into other creatures such as squirrels or mosquitoes or inanimate objects such as tooth brushes and schoolbooks - or pretty much anything at all, except Cosmo stays green and Wanda stays pink and their eyes can usually be seen.

Following Cosmo and Wanda's arrival, they go on a series of adventures - or misadventures - usually brought on by the wishes Timmy asks for. In season one these included:

* making Timmy an adult, which almost causes him to lose his fairy godparents due to the what is written in Da Rules (that all fairies have to follow) that they cannot grant wishes to adults. They get around this finally when Timmy acts childish enough for his wish to be young again to work.

* making a videogame where anyone can get sucked into the real game and therefore when they lose all their lives - they disappear.

* pulling a real alien from space, who then causes havoc.

* giving Timmy a dinosaur for show and tell which makes Timmy's teacher (Denzel Crocker) suspicious and so Cosmo and Wanda have to pose as Timmy's real parents.

* making Timmy popular to impress a girl he likes who is part of the popular crowd. Timmy almost loses his fairy godparents in this episode due to his increasingly selfish wishes and Cosmo poses as his defence lawyer - who is really no help at all.

* shrinking and ending up in the babysitter Vicky's body.

* bringing a comic superhero into the real world then having to send Timmy into the comic to convince the depressed hero that he's necessary (because he finds out he's fictional).

* switching Timmy with Vicky's dog.

* in the feature length Abra Catastrophe, Timmy gets a special muffin for managing to keep the secret of his having fairy godparents for a year. However, this muffin ends up being partially eaten by first a monkey and then Crocker, both of whom change the world to suit themselves because the muffin grants a wish that doesn't have to follow any of Da Rules.
