Character: Peter Parker / Spiderman
Fandom: The Amazing Spiderman (2012 film)
Character Notes:
History:
The first few years of Peter Parker's life, aside from being born to science nerds with an apparent penchant for alliterative naming, were ostensibly quite normal. From the small glimpse into their family life that we are given, they seem to be a caring, normal family -- given that Peter and his father are in the midst of a game of hide-and-seek when we first encounter them. Things were good. Peter seemed to be a happy child. However, when he was still quite young (around 5 or 6) things changed. His father was involved in scientific research in the area of cross-species genetics. For reasons that Peter is yet to entirely understand, his father chose to hide some of his research from his employers. Unfortunately this created a dangerous situation.

After a break in, Peter's father and mother bring him hastily to his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. They leave their son in their relatives care. This is the last that Peter ever sees his parents -- to date.

For the next dozen years or so, Peter is raised by his Aunt and Uncle, and very little remarkable happens. He grows quite close to his Uncle Ben and his Aunt May, viewing them as his parents entirely. He leads a normal life, uneventful until he's 17. In high school, Peter isn't the most popular kid, but he seems to get by for the most part, despite being bullied a bit. He takes up photography and skateboarding and seems to have a talent for both. And of course, there's a pretty blonde girl who's caught his eye by the name of Gwen Stacy. Unsurprisingly, they eventually wind up dating.

Peter's normal, everyday life begins to unravel when he finds a briefcase that used to belong to his father. Hidden in the leather bag he finds the secret files and formulas that his father had been working on when Peter was just a child. He also finds a picture of his father with a former colleague, Dr. Curt Connors. With a bit of creativity, he sneaks in to meet Dr. Connors and explore the lab. Despite warnings from Gwen not to leave the tour group, Peter breaks off and somehow gets himself into secure areas. In particular, he lets himself into a room filled with genetically altered spiders. As if this wasn't stupid enough, he goes and touches something. Spiders start falling on him, which really, should bother him a little more than it does. But he mostly just twitches and brushes them off.

He gets out and refinds the tour group, but not before being bitten by one of the genetically altered spiders.

This is where his life starts to really get strange. The bite alters Peter's DNA and gives him abilities beyond the normal. He can suddenly cling to walls and ceilings with his bare hands. His strength and speed and reflexes all increase significantly, so much so that he breaks half his bathroom before he gets used to it.

He visits Dr. Connors again and shares with him parts of his father's research, allowing Dr. Connors to push his research from theory into practice. However, between his new found powers and all the scienc-ing that Peter is doing, things start to go a bit wrong. He bullies one of the boys at school who used to bully him, and his uncle scolds him for it. He also forgets to pick up his Aunt from work. This creates some friction between him and his Aunt and Uncle, and Peter storms out one night. This would be unremarkable, save for the fact that his Uncle followed him.

After having a confrontation at a convenience store with the clerk, Peter chooses not to step in and stop a robbery at that store. The robber runs into Peter's uncle and shoots him. Uncle Ben dies then and there, and Peter is guilt-ridden.

His guilt drives him on something of a revenge mission, and he begins acting like a vigilante -- but only going after criminals who meet the description of the man who shot his uncle. He develops the Spiderman costume and gets something of a reputation for being a vigilante. It's only after Gwen's father (a Captain on the police force) points out that Spiderman seems to have a personal vendetta that Peter starts to rethink this. He realizes he has the power he has and has something of a responsibility to use it.

When Dr. Connors uses the research Peter helped him with on himself and transforms into a giant rage-y lizard monster, Peter further feels more responsibility. Instead of searching for revenge, he realizes that he should use his abilities to help people. Peter also believes that part of why Dr. Connors became the Lizard is because of his actions.

Peter, as Spiderman, fights with and eventually defeats the Lizard and cures Dr. Connors of what the serum had done to him. In the process. Gwen's father, Captain Stacy is killed by the Lizard. Having found out that Spiderman is Peter, Captain Stacy makes Peter promise to stay away from Gwen so that she can be kept safe because being Spiderman, he will make enemies.

Peter continues his actions as Spiderman, though now his motivations are to protect the people who need it. His relationship with Gwen comes to an end because of the promise that he made to her father.

Personality:
Peter is, as his Aunt tells him, good. He seems to have a fairly strong sense of justice, stepping in to stop the bullying of one of his classmates, refusing to "snap a picture" as the bullies are goading him too. He stands up for this other boy and his own beliefs even if it gets him beaten up rather badly in the process. Peter is also fairly proud, in that he doesn't want to admit to his Aunt and Uncle that he was beat up, or that he has trouble with bullying at school. Later in the film, Peter's sense of responsibility has him risking his own life to save the lives of others. He has the ability, and in part thanks to the advice of his Uncle, he believes that he has a responsibility as well. He shows himself capable of being very selfless, willing to lay his life on the line if necessary to help others.

This is not to say that Peter is not without his flaws though. He has them -- a lot of them. It may be because of his parents leaving him, but there's a deep hurt and anger in him at the perceived abandonment. Peter very obviously cares about and is affected by his parents having left. When he finds his father's old briefcase, he studies each and every last item in it, finding his father's glasses and adopting them as his own. He misses his family, and even though he tells his uncle that he's a wonderful father, the fact that his own father and mother had to leave him does leave him with a void in his life and questions about why. In one case, he lashes out at his Uncle when he brings up his father and how like him Peter is. He also shows himself to be susceptible to bouts of vengeance -- from petty to somewhat more serious. He humiliates a classmate who previously bullied him and also after his Uncle's death makes it his personal mission to find the man who killed him. However, with a push in the right direction and a reminder of what he's doing, he also shows that he can overcome it. Peter is very much still a kid, but he's growing and maturing constantly, bit by bit.

He also lashes out on occasion at his Uncle and Aunt when they are genuinely trying to help him. He can be a bit broody and seems to have a little difficulty breaking out of the cycle. However, he also has people who are excellent influences on his life, and he is aware of who they are and takes guidance from them. Even after his Uncle has died, Peter keeps a voicemail that his Uncle left him and listens to it over and over again, to take guidance and comfort. He also seems to draw strength from his Aunt May and Gwen Stacy. He's close enough to his family that he takes what they say to heart, even if he is going through his own struggles and dealing with his own demons at the time. He eventually makes it up to his Aunt as well, and though he doesn't share all his secrets (specifically the whole alter ego crime fighter bit), it seems that things become less secretive and uncertain between them.

One of the really defining characteristics of Peter's personality is his sense of humor. He is very quick witted and quick on his feet. He tends to make jokes quickly and easily as well as often. This carries over both in his life as Peter Parker as well as his actions as Spiderman. He banters with other students. He banters with criminals. He's quick to smile and laugh for the most part. He's good at sarcasm, though sometimes it can come off a bit flippantly -- mostly when he's in one of his moodier states. Also it seems that a pretty face sometimes eliminates his ability to be very clever at all. His thorough failure at forming sentences when asking Gwen out is a fairly good demonstration of his shyness. Peter is something of an awkward, nerdy little thing without much experience in dating. He seems to be the more "admire from afar" type, with keeping a picture of Gwen on his computer, before he works up the nerve to ask her out.

Peter is also a very bright boy. Gwen says that he's "second" in his class, something that he actually questions -- as though he expected to be first. He reads through his father's research and seems to understand it quite easily. Beyond that, he manages to finagle the web-shooting devices that he uses as Spiderman. However, Peter's brain also gets him in trouble. For example, his participation in the research that Dr. Connors is conducting leads to the whole debacle with the Lizard -- though there's really no way that Peter could have foreseen that exactly, the fact that his father kept his research secret probably should have made him wonder why. In a less "destroying the city" sort of consequence, the fact that Peter is opinionated and has trouble keeping his thoughts on Spiderman to himself gets him in somewhat hot water with her father on their first meeting. It was not the most auspicious start, but later the two men seem to come to an understanding and mutual, if grudging, respect. Captain Stacy even says that the city needs Spiderman.

The duality of Peter's personality is really quite plain. He is both Peter Parker and Spiderman. At the core they are the same person, but being Spiderman allows him to explore parts of his personality he may otherwise have not been able to. In particular, he discovers strength -- both inner and outer. He also comes to find who he is, something of a big step for a boy with no parents who never really fit in all that well at school. He becomes a more complete person because of his Spiderman persona, even if it does involve quite a bit of sacrifice on his part.

Other: Peter has an alterego, of course. And powers beyond a normal human being. Beyond this, he's also an avid photographer, skateboarder and science nerd. I'll be taking him initially from very early movie, likely just after he's been bitten by the spider -- and before his Uncle is shot, so he'll have a bit of trouble controlling some of his strength and such. :) He'll progress through canon as time goes on. Third person sample is set further in the timeline. Hopefully that's all right.

This is a public service announcement. So please stay tuned. Adjust your volume. Everyone with me?

Great.

First. Yes. Photography is a hobby of mine. I do it for fun, sure. But it's sort of not cheap. And hey, if you're looking for a photographer I'll take your pictures. Not for free though. I've got costs to cover. Not to mention, hey, it's a service. Come on.

Second. No. I'm not taking sexy photos of you for your boyfriend. Or for your girlfriend. Get a webcam. Seriously. I'll link you to the page on Best Buy. They're cheap and then we don't have the most awkward time in the history of history. This is known as a Win-Win situation.

Third. ...I don't really have a third but lists are supposed to have at least three things. So... instead you get my thoughts on My Little Pony. I don't get it. At all. Talking pastel ponies. Too weird.

Oh hey! Four! Now we're really listing. I won't take pictures of you and your My Little Ponies. Again. Get a webcam.

Third Person:
Peter lay sprawled along the narrow ledge of stone that jutted from the building, its end finishing in a gargoyle's gruesome face. One leg dangled off the edge, arms behind his head as he glanced into the clouded sky, twilight progressing quickly towards full on evening. His mask was clutched in one hand, the bright red and blue uniform he still wore contrasting against the plain gray of the building. He probably ought to care more about being countless stories above the street below. But he didn't, whatever fear that may have once come with dizzying heights long gone. He liked it up here. It was quiet.

It gave him perspective. Literally. Metaphorically. Both at once. Really, he mused to himself with a sudden little flash of amusement, it was kind of impressive. Anyway, it beat staring at his bedroom ceiling and pondering the mysteries of the plaster. Mostly. The amusement was quick to fade though, as his somewhat heavier thoughts caught back up with him. Heavy thoughts defied gravity, he guessed. Climb as high as you can, and they still find you. And boy had they found him. A frown pulled over his features and he draped an arm over his eyes. Aunt May was worried. He knew she was.

And he couldn't say that he blamed her. After all, balancing his life and his nightlife as Spiderman made things a little difficult. He kept odd hours. He had unexplained injuries. And she wasn't a stupid woman. Still it wasn't like he could just tell her. For one thing, well, she wouldn't approve. At all.

Really, he could imagine that conversation. "Guess what, Aunt May. I've become a masked superhero in my spare time. Good news is I've become a spandex aficionado. Bad news is the health plan sucks. No dental." Yeah. That'd go over fantastic.

More seriously, the less she knew about Spiderman, the better in terms of her own safety. She was the only family he had left, and he had to make sure that nothing happened to her. He had to take care of her. But he couldn't give this up either, couldn't just let go of Spiderman, like he'd never existed to begin with. He couldn't. At first it may have been about getting back at his Uncle's murderer, but it was more than that now.

It had changed. Like he had changed. He couldn't pretend that he was the only one with problems, not when there were people in this city he could help. If he could, he owed it to them. He considered the voicemail left on his cellphone, the small snippet of his Uncle's voice that he clung to, as a reminder. That's right. Responsibility. At the very least, he couldn't let Uncle Ben down, not again.

"Maybe I should just get better at sneaking out..." He mused to himself, arm falling away from his eyes. Or he could get better at dodging blows and bullets. That'd help with the bruises anyway. Really, he could go for fewer injuries in general. Yeah. Good goal. He shook his head at himself, somewhat amused all over again. He'd put that one on his to-do list.

Without thinking about it, he rolled, dropping instantly off his narrow little perch. The air rushed to meet him as he fell, fresh and cool against his unmasked face. Better methods maybe involved not throwing himself off buildings with no regard for small matters like gravity or terminal velocity or anything. A movement of his hands and the weblauncher around his wrist fired, a shot that looped up quickly to catch another of the building's decorative gargoyles. His fall stopped abruptly as he swung away, gaze roaming over the streets below. Well. Time for another night's work.

Character: Sophie Hatter
Fandom: Howl’s Moving Castle (Book)
Character Notes:
History: Sophie Hatter is the eldest of three daughters. In the land of Ingary, where she lives, it is thought that being the eldest of three is a great misfortune. However Sophie took this in stride. She loves both of her sisters dearly and cared for them growing up, often stop their arguments with each other. As the three grew older the time came for it to be decided what each girl would do with their lives. Martha, the youngest, was sent to learn from Miss Fairfax, a witch. Lettie would take on an apprenticeship at the local pastry shop. Lastly Sophie would stay at home and work in the family’s hat shop. Sophie knew the hat business quite well and certainly would not argue a job that suited her so well, despite feeling like she was simply resigned to it.

She continued on this way for quite some time until a fateful May Day when she decided to visit her sister Lettie at the pastry shop. Being a terribly shy and mousy girl, Sophie made the trip with much difficulty thanks to the crowds of the holiday. One her journey she was accosted by a beautiful man. Terrified, she of course denied his advances. Very kindly, he let her go to be with her sister.
After her visit with Lettie (who in fact turned out Martha thanks to a magic spell that let them switch places), Sophie returned to the hat shop. There she is visited by a strange woman who turns out to be the feared Witch of the Waste. The witch accuses Sophie of meddling in her affairs and places a spell upon her. The spell turns Sophie into an 80-year-old woman. In such a state Sophie decides that she cannot remain at the hat shop and explain how such a strange occurrence happened.

It is at this point that the Wizard Howl should be mentioned. Stories and rumors spread about Sophie’s home about the terrible wizard who stole the souls and ate the hearts of young women. As it happened, when Sophie set out from home she come across the Wizard Howl’s moving castle (after fixing an old scarecrow and untying a tangled up dog). Being old she didn’t fear the wizard wanting her heart, so she entered the castle.

Once inside she meets the wizard’s apprentice, Michael, as well as a comfortable seat which she promptly falls asleep in. Upon waking she meets Calcifer, the fire demon who fuels the castle. Calcifer explains he is stuck in a contract with the Wizard Howl. He and Sophie make a bargain that he will lift the spell on her if she discovers how to break their contract. However neither Calcifer or Howl can speak about the main clause of the contract.

The next morning Sophie meets Howl and is surprised to find that he is the young man who accosted her on May Day. Sophie refuses to let him know who she really is and states that she will be the cleaning lady of the castle. Over breakfast Sophie learns that Howl isn’t nearly as wicked as the stories say. In fact, Howl himself spreads the rumors so that he can avoid work and a “powerful someone” whom he offended. She also learns that the castle is mostly enchantment and that the rooms inside are actually from Howl’s home in another area of Ingary. The doors are enchanted to open to different places.

In order to prove her worth Sophie sets about cleaning the rooms of the castle which are real. It should be said that the rooms are quite the disaster as they have never been cleaned. In fact, it took several days to clean everything and Sophie never heard one way or another from Howl if she was to stay or not. Amongst all the cleaning Sophie finds nothing that could help her break the contract between Howl and Calcifer but she does discover that Michael has a sweetheart, Howl is courting a particularly tough young lady, and another wizard, Suliman has gone missing in the Waste. She also deals with a particular tantrum from Howl in which he oozes green slime about the house because his hair color was accidentally changed to ginger. Soon after Howl reveals that the lady he is chasing is Lettie Hatter, Sophie’s sister. Of course, it turns out that Michael’s sweetheart is also Lettie (but actually Martha in disguise!).

Later Howl discusses that the prince of one of the kingdoms, Prince Justin, has gone missing and that is why the previous Royal Wizard, Suliman went missing looking for him. Howl is concerned that the King will soon ask him to start looking for the prince.

Around this point a scarecrow appears around Howl’s castle, frightening Sophie. Howl meets it and tells it to leave. He explains that it has some of the most powerful magic he had ever seen on it. Sophie and Michael use a pair of seven-league boots to travel to the real Lettie and warn her of Howl’s womanizing ways. However it is revealed that Lettie and her teacher Mrs. Fairfax knew it was Howl all along and that they were using it as an opportunity for Lettie to learn as much magic as possible from him.

After finding a written spell in the castle, Sophie and Michael attempt to figure out its meaning of “go and catch a falling star”. When Howl discovers this he decides to explain and takes the pair through the magic door to the one place he keeps secret.

It just happens to be Wales. Yes, Wales of our normal, everyday world. It turns out that Howl was born and raised in Wales and one day found a magical entrance to the land of Ingary where he began to practice magic. His sister and her family still live in Wales. Howl takes Sophie and Michael there. The spell that Sophie and Michael found was actually a poem from Howl’s nephew’s homework. The nephew admits that his homework had been misplaced by “funny writing” of Howl’s. Howl then takes Sophie and Michael to see the teacher, Mrs. Angorian, who assigned the poem and took Howl’s writing instead. They retrieve the spell

After that little adventure they return to Ingary and Howl sends Sophie to visit the king as his mother so she might blacken his name. There she meets Howl’s teacher, Mrs. Pentstemmon, who expresses her concern for Howl and his heavy use of charms to enhance his appearance and attractiveness. She fears he may be on a similar path as the Witch of the Waste. She explains that the Witch of the Waste also made a contract with a fire demon and that the demon took control of her. Contracts between demons and humans can extend the lives of both but it is not without its risks. Mrs. Pentstemmon advises Sophie to seek out what Calcifer got when he made the contract with Howl. She also tells Sophie that she has the ability to speak life into things. Sophie denies this, of course.

During her audience with the king, Sophie says all she can to assure him that Howl would be an awful man for the job, but everything just seems to convince the king otherwise. She leaves with the King still intent on having Howl search for the prince. Afterwards she runs into the Witch of the Waste who was seeking out Mrs. Pentstemmon so that she might discover where Howl is. However Mrs. Pentstemmon refused and promptly died to prove it. Later, Sophie adopts a dog (I swear this is plot relevant!) and Howl attends the funeral of Mrs. Pentstemmon.

In an attempt to vanish from the both the Witch of the Waste’s and the King’s sight, Howl moves one of the magical entrances to Market Chipping, where Sophie’s old hat shop was. Sophie’s step-mother was in fact, selling the shop. However Sophie uses the building as a flower shop instead of a hat shop. At this point Sophie has a chat with her dog, which turns out to be a man under a spell from the Witch of the Waste. He explains that Lettie sent him to look for her. Later Mrs. Angorian shows up through one of the doors and makes her way through the castle.

After another conversation with the dog Sophie finds out that Howl knew that she was under a spell and had been learning about it from Lettie. Howl explains he had tried to remove the spell but found he was unable. He assumed that Sophie had been enjoying the disguise of an old woman.

Angry about everything Sophie vows to leave the castle for good. However every time she attempts to leave something or someone arrives that delays her. Sophie’s step-mother arrives, aware of the spell on her. Soon they are joined by Michael and Martha, and then Lettie and Mrs. Fairfax. Lastly Mrs. Angorian arrives once again.
Amongst all the reunions Calcifer lets out a cry to Howl that the Witch of the Waste has found his family. Howl rushes away to defend his family against the Witch. He chases her away and follows her in her escape. In all the confusion Sophie invites the scarecrow in at last which causes a great number of magical things to go off inside the castle.

Meanwhile the Witch of the Waste sends a message that Howl fell for her decoy and that she now holds Mrs. Angorian captive. Calcifer at the same time grew quiet and very dim. Sophie uses the seven league boots to go to the waste and find the Witch. Sophie demands that the Witch return Mrs. Angorian, but the Witch refuses and says they must wait for Howl. Sophie tells her that he certainly wouldn’t come for such a trap, but the witch insists that because Sophie came, he would come and would have to be honest. The Witch also explains that she was the one who took both the Prince and the Wizard Suliman. She took them apart in order that she might make a perfect man for herself. In order to do this, the scarecrow and the dog were created from the pieces. She is waiting only for Howl’s head to complete him.

It turns out that Mrs. Angorian is in fact the fire demon which the Witch of the Waste made a contract with. When Howl does eventually arrive at the waste he realizes that Mrs. Angorian now has control of Calcifer back at the castle. The Witch is killed, so Howl and Sophie hurry back to the castle. Mrs. Angorian explained that she wishes to take over as Howl’s demon and takes hold of Calcifer, who in fact is carrying Howl’s heart. Sophie orders her walking stick to attack Mrs. Angorian, and it does. She realizes she can speak life into things. Mrs. Angorian drops Calcifer and Howl’s heart. Sophie retrieves them and brings them to Howl. Using her magic Sophie speaks the heart back into Howl and speaks a thousand more years of life into Calcifer. By doing this she breaks their contract. Howl revives and takes the Witch’s heart out. He crumbles the heart in his hand and Mrs. Angorian fades away into nothing.

By this point Sophie realizes that she is back to her own age and appearance and Howl remarks that he had hoped she would be the girl he saw on May Day. Surrounded by the friends and family that had returned earlier Sophie explains that she had to let Calcifer go and Howl says he knew that would have to happen. Prince Justin and Wizard Suliman are returned to normal and everything wraps up nicely. Howl suggests that he and Sophie “live happily ever after”.

And perhaps they will.

Sophie makes an appearance in two other novels (The Castle in the Air and The House of Many Ways), but she is no a central character in either.

Personality: Over the course of the novel Sophie’s personality takes some drastic changes. At the start she is a very humble, quiet, and shy person. She prefers to stay at home and avoid other people. Going out into town is a major decision for her every time and she must talk herself into doing it. However Sophie is still kind, sweet, and mature. She handles most things with grace, unless it involves major crowds. At this point Sophie is also rather passive. She accepts the decisions made for her and does not argue. While her sisters Martha and Lettie defied their fates right away for what they really wanted Sophie settled into the position handed to her.

After the spell is place upon her things begin to change. Sophie is still rather resigned to her fate of being an old woman but the strange new form convinces her of some more freedoms. She feels comfortable being a bit odd, even “mad” around people because isn’t that how old women are supposed to act? Being around Howl and his mysterious ways also brings out her curiosity and stubbornness. Again she is convinced that as the housekeeper of the castle it is her right to keep everything within neat and orderly. She becomes unafraid to explore new things and stand up to Howl, Michael, and Calcifer.

By the end of the novel Sophie has moved completely passed who she once was. She isn’t afraid to look for what she really wants and say exactly what she means. She is a more confident and strong young woman, thanks to her own experiences and the words of Howl. She realizes that it was her own stubbornness keeping her old. Not only that, but she realizes that she doesn’t need to be an old woman to act the way she was. She can still be a stubborn, nosy, loving, and outgoing young woman. One who has far more talents and friends than she ever dreamed of having. Her confidence isn’t completely solidified by the end, as she does blame her misfortune on “being the eldest” but Howl rebukes her for saying so. She has grown a lot over the course of the novel, but could still stand for some more confidence, which with time I am sure she will gain.

In this place you may ask questions, right? I’ve never really owned an enchanted item so I’m not quite sure what to do with it. All I have are the explanations of the people I spoke with. I even had to switch out a new log book. Hopefully this on won’t be enchanted as well.

Oh, ah, I had a question. Yes, that’s right.

If you were handed an occupation that was not one of your choosing, but chosen for you out of a good heart and smart thinking, would you follow that fate? Or would you find another one; the one you desire more?

Third Person:
Very briefly Sophie wondered if she should be concerned in the sudden appearance of so many magical things happening in her life. It wasn’t unusual for magic to be around – her family had been buying and trading small enchantments from Mrs. Fairfax for years – but the sheer amount of it was enough to make Sophie pause.

First there was the strange log book that she had come across. The shop had said nothing of an enchantment when she had bought it. Of course she had yet to gain the courage to go back and ask him about it…

But no one else in the shop could see the strange writing that appeared without her touching ink to page.

And then even more recently was the trouble with her sisters. Martha and Lettie. Lettie and Martha. They’d gone off and switched places, all without a word to her! Perhaps the fact that they were keeping secrets from her was even worse than all this magic business.
Sophie sighed as she closed up the shop for the day. Hopefully she had already had her fill of magic and that would be that.

“I certainly hope so,” she said under her breath.

Character:Dr. Sheldon "Shelly" Cooper
Fandom: The Big Bang Theory
Character Notes:
History:
Sheldon’s humble beginnings start on a farm in Texas. Cooper lived with a very religious family. This proved rather difficult as everyone in Texas but him was a creationist and Sheldon was not.

Like most nerds, Cooper was bullied, for his superior intelligence as well as being chased by a deranged cat. His only friends, well rather imaginary colleagues, were all that Sheldon had besides his family. When Sheldon was young he often hoped that the Enterprise, from Star Trek, would come and take him away from this forsaken place called home.

Despite all of this, Cooper tried to provide free electricity to his town in Texas by storing uranium in yellow cake, however the U. S. government found out as Sheldon tried to order the uranium online and they have a chat with little Cooper. Sheldon then proceeded to go lock himself in his room and build a death ray.

Some time later, Sheldon spent eight and a half hours traveling to Comic Con on public transit to meet his idol Will Wheaten and get his autograph. When Cooper got there he found out Will Wheaten had cancelled at the last second and Sheldon vowed revenge.

After having had completed the 5th grade Sheldon went off to college for four years and then spend another four years working on his thesis. During his years in college, Sheldon had to endure his father’s football talking. His father died at a later time for unknown reasons. At age 14 and a half he won a Stevenson award – and is the youngest person to receive that award.

At 15, Sheldon started graduate school. When he was 16, Sheldon received his first doctrine.

Dr. Cooper was employed at the California Institute of Technology, as he focused in the theoretical physics, especially String Theory.

Sheldon met Leonand and the two become best friends, after Cooper saved Leonard’s life by tossing Leonard’s experimental rocket down the elevator shaft, as Sheldon saw Leonard put in extremely unstable particles.

Howard Wolowitz and Dr. Raj Koothrappali like Leonard and become Leonard’s friend and inadvertently Sheldon’s friends as well.

When Sheldon first met Penny, he wanted nothing to do with her. It was his roommate Leonard, whom wanted to be more neighborly for his own reasons. Sheldon quickly catching on that Leonard just wanted to have sex with Penny or was hoping for the chance. Since they’re never neighborly, Penny quickly created a no Sheldon at her door before 11am rule which of course Sheldon follows and is there at her door knocking at 11am sharp.

Finally, Sheldon is currently in a relationship with Amy Farrah Fowler, whom Sheldon met though internet dating thanks to Howard and Raj.

Personality:

First and foremost, Sheldon suffers from Asperger's syndrome. As Bernadette states, “Sheldon doesn’t know when he’s being mean because a part of his brain that should know is getting a wedgie from the rest of his brain.” Which is why Sheldon is a jerk hole but in his eye, making snippy and downgrading remarks is raising that person up. Such as to Howard, whom doesn’t have a Doctrine he comments that, "I never said you weren’t good at what you do. I just said what you do isn’t worth doing."

As well as going on with psychotic rants, which usually happens with subjects such as horoscopes and magic. Both of which he finds ridiculous.

Cooper is also rather egoistical, like how he comments on how he has an IQ that can’t be measured on any chart because it’s that high, as well as referring to himself as a superior human, to the extent that Stephen Hawking and him are the only human beings on Earth and the rest of mankind are just dogs. Not to mention Sheldon is far too evolved to learn to drive.

He does show kindness in his own strange ways. For example:
Lending Penny the money she needs for her apartment rent.
Letting Raj work with him so Raj isn't deported back to India.
Or when he's reminded of Spock's dying words, "The needs of the many, outweigh the need of the few or the one." Cooper will assist.

Cooper has also been known to come off like a robot, which some of his own friends question. However, when Penny broke her arm and Sheldon had to take her to the hospital, Penny states that Sheldon, "Totally is a robot but you're like a Wall - E robot. You come off cold but you can save a plant and get fat people off chairs." Granted this doesn't happen more towards season 3 as Penny influences this.

Sarcasm and social situations are something that baffle Cooper time and time again, however as the seasons progress, around season three, Sheldon with a lot of aid from Leonard, begins to grip sarcasm better and when he thinks he hears sarcasm, goes, “Was that sarcasm?” As if he’s making sure he’s calling the tone right. Whereas Sheldon, if he’s pulling your leg or being sarcastic rather, he’ll have a short pause and go, “Bazinga”. Loosely translated means, got you.

As Sheldon gets more involved with Penny and Penny develops a relationship with Leonard, he begins to understand social situations more from observation and sometimes questions what he should do when he's in a social situration he does not understand. He has learned things such as that sex is a better positive reinforcement then chocolate. As far as the idea of sex goes, up till Sheldon is dating Amy Farrah Fowler, and they experiment a social science of gossip, the juicy one the lie of her and Sheldon having had sex, at the end of the experiment, Cooper comments to Amy that he’d like to try that, to which she replies she’s not ready. Before that Sheldon’s view on sex is that it’s messy and usually calls Howard out on the other man’s natural urges getting in the way, "Once again, foiled by your own sexual urges." Out of four groups of friends, Leonard, Rja, Howard and Sheldon. Cooper expresses the least interest in acting out sex and has a fascinating time observing his friends and their mating process between his friends and their mates. As Sheldon states one time with Leonard and Penny:
"Interesting. Sex acts as better positive reinforcement then chocolate.. I wonder if anyone else has stumbled upon this."

Another social element Sheldon slowly learns over time is hugging or rather the apparent moment and length. So far, the only time Cooper has hugged anyone was Penny, when she gave him an autographed napkin with saliva from Leonard Nimoy.

Not good at making friends, the only reason he has Howard, Raj and Penny is because of Leonard. So, Cooper makes a Friendship Algorithm, which actually works.

Cooper also shows obsessive compulsive disorders, when he knocks on Penny’s apartment door, it’s always in three’s and always with the same time lapse between the knocks.

Sheldon even cleans Penny’s apartment after seeing how much of slop she is... He goes to clean her apartment during the middle of the night… While she was sleeping, in which Leonard comments:
“Did it ever occur to you, not everyone has the compulsive need to sort or organize and label the entire world around them?”
In which Sheldon simply answers, “No.”

Sheldon also has to have dinner at exactly a certain time or fears a bowl movement during the day at work, rather than before.

This can carry on to the point where you may just want to kill Sheldon.

Cooper is determined to disprove anything that is considered magical. Even a simple game of card tricks, which Sheldon spends an episode on, disproving Howard's illusion of being able to pick out Sheldon's card. In the end of course it was a hoax but Sheldon never figured how Howard and Raj drove the man up the wall.

Despite being a Theoretical Physicist, Sheldon loves his comic books, video games, movies, TV shows and anime. Considering his decor in his apartment of action figures and statues and his Flash and Spock Halloween costume. Where Cooper also LARPS, live action role plays Flash and Spock.

His most notable action figure is his Spock action figure that 'talks' to Sheldon and his very extension comic book collection, some of which he even keeps in a safety deposit box at the bank.

Cooper has begged three times in five seasons:
- That Babylon 5 be cancelled at the network
- The FireFly wasn't cancelled to the network
- That Howard let him meet Stephen Hawking

He also online roleplays, War of Witchcraft and has a level 92 Rogue Night Elf and his Sims world that is called Sheldonopolis.
He also loves his retro Nintendo video games even if also plays Halo.
Remember he's a Theoretical Physicist, who studies String Theory as Sheldon states, "I subscribe to the idea of many universes. There however is not one out there that has a Sheldon Cooper, who dances."

The line between genius and insanity is clearly a thin one.

Dr. Cooper is also rather arrogant. As Sheldon claims, as he refers to Isaac Newton and states, "Though, gravity would had been apparent to me without the apple."

Interestingly enough, Sheldon does have a dark side to him. Though Leonard does remark that Sheldon is, "One lab explosion away from being a villain."

This is mainly seen with Cooper's hatred of Wil Wheaton, whom cheated Sheldon out of an autograph, that he as a boy spent eight hours on public transit, despite his disgust of public transit and germs, to get his autograph only to find out Wil Wheaton canceled on the convention, Cooper even remarks in Klingon, to Wheaton, "Revenge is a dish best served cold."

Cooper is childish when things don’t go his way. For example, Sheldon threatens to quit the Physics team simply because they want to be called the Beagle Loins over the Army Ant and when Sheldon is kicked off the team for not being a team player, something else he has an issue with. He'd rather lose then win because one of his new teammates he told to be quiet during the whole time, spoke an answer and the correct answer at that, to which Sheldon himself did not know the answer too. In other words, he’s a sore loser and even sorer winner. When he’s sick, he’s whiney and demands people take care of him. Finally, Cooper may randomly remark, at some times, "I need to pee pee."

If Sheldon has any emotions, they lie subconsciously. When he and his best friend Leonard are having an argument, Sheldon has no bowl movements and developments insomnia.

In short, Sheldon Cooper is rather odd and everyone in his world has a different theory on what is wrong with him.

*String Theory, basically is the idea that every probable outcome is possible. So, if that outcome doesn't happen in the current universe. It is happening in another universe.
For example, there's a universe, in theory, where 65 million years ago, the asteroid did not collide with Earth and thus dinosaurs did not go extinct. In fact, there's a universe out there, in theory, where you weren’t even born.

Yes, this is a real theory.

First Person (entry type):
[accidental video]

[There’s a picture of a rather slim and pale face guy with wide blue eyes, who at the moment is intently focused on something, as he’s punching keys on the computer keyboard rather timely. Not to mention the head set he has on.]

What’s this? Dramadramaduck? Which of you hacked my internet? Koothrappali. Wolowitz. Leonard Now, come on. I’m your game master and as your game master I’d appreciate it if you didn’t bump me off during a quest.

Pissed someone off lately, I do not piss people off. I merely raise them higher from their current position so they can be an improved human being.
Now what do ducks have anything to do with being dramatic? That is unless, it’s a website dedicated to Daffy Duck or the less famous Plucky Duck, neither of which are resembled correctly in this layout but I do have to say, this design is very similar to my adhesive ducks. I didn’t click on it. The site just came up during War of Witchcraft.

My IQ is immeasurable by current IQ tests… Of course I had the pop up blocker on.

[click click click]

[presses crl +alt+delete and clicks task manager] Leonard. Leonard. Leonard. The force quit isn’t working. Fix it. Windows Vista how I loathe you and how not user friendly you are.

Strange… I have a user name on this forum board… [Looks off camera for a moment]

Third Person:

Dr. Cooper is working on some Quantum chromo dynamics in his and Leonard’s apartment. That is when Sheldon notices something is off… He pauses in his work. What could it be? Certainly not the lack of human company, he imitates laugher to himself. The temperature of the room was the standard seventy – eight degrees.

Cooper continues to scan the apartment till he sees what has been bugging him. Just adjusting from his seat; the portrait of Steven Hawking on the wall is angled slightly to the right. One of Cooper’s eyes twitch. As Sheldon takes the picture frame off the wall he discovers, "I told Leonard thumb tacks are a poor substitute for nails." If you want something done right do it yourself, "I’m amazed Leonard has a P.H.D. sometimes.”

Cooper stretches his facial expression during that talk to himself as he walks across the apartment to a table and opening that drawer on the table. Before discovering they’re out of sticky corners.

"Alright, there has to be some similar bonding agent in this apartment.” Because he was not going to be able to focus on his mathematical equations before he found something to fix that lean. Sheldon searches for scotch tape, clay and adhesive. Finally, Sheldon goes across the hallway and knocks on his neighbors’ door, "Penny." Pause. "Penny." Pause. "Penny. I need you to give me a ride to the store it’s urgent. The portrait with Stephen Hawking inside is leaning at a thirty degree angle and I can’t focus till it’s fixed."

Character Notes:
History:
A 300-year old Demon residing in New Hell after being assigned the menial task of janitorial work for the majority of her existence, once the Runaway Spirit Squad requires extra hands, Elsie drops her broom (figuratively, rather than literally to everyone's dismay) and is recruited. Thus starting her reason to appear to the world above to help catch the spirits that have aptly "run away".

A runaway spirit is a demon that has escaped Old Hell and hid themselves in a girls' heart. This spirit uses the empty space of a girls host as temporary residence before it uses the girls entire body to help resurrect it by, you guessed it, having a child. Which is why it is vastly important to fill this girls emptiness and one way to do such is by love.

But before Elsie can even think about finding these demons, she needs one crucial thing and that is a: buddy. A buddy is a just as it sounds, they're simply partners but a little differently, they're mainly human partners and Elsie sets her eyes on the rumored Capturing God, Keima Katsuragi. Even infamous through hell, Keima is the man rumored to be able to capture the hearts of any girl but what anyone fails to mention is that Keima is only able to capture the hearts of any 2D girl. Keima is the otoge expert and this miscommunication leads to an ill-fated union between him and his newfound, unwanted buddy and responsibilities.

Under the assumption that Keima is able to seduce any type of girl, Keima is sent a contract to assist the Runaway Squad which to him sounds more like a challenge. Blindly accepting it, Keima is suddenly stuck with Elsie and a collar around that his neck which will decapitate his head should he refuse helping her. Stuck with this unfortunate luck, Keima and Elsie have no choice but to work together and help fill the girls heart with Keima's love... Which would be even easier if he didn't hate 3D girls.

More personally, growing up, Elsie was a poor student and a poor demon. Unlike her overachieving sister and the other bright students like a demon called Haqua, Elsie has learned to smile through her personal disappointments and content herself with doing chores like cooking and cleaning. But now that she has been given the opportunity to prove herself a worthy demon and even if she was unsuccessful, she's happy with being given the chance.

However, Elsie can't live as a demon while she resides on Earth and manages to take on the identity of Keima's younger half sister or more humorously, Keima's father's illegitimate daughter much to the shock and horror of Keima's mother. This identity allows her to attend Keima's school and generally be around him at all time and bear witness to his insane gaming habits.

Personality:
Cheery and go-lucky, Elsie is the direct opposite to Keima and any preconception's people would have on 'demons from hell'. While the latter is due to state of hell itself, Elsie is still more optimistic and happy than any other person or demon would be. Elsie tries her best in everything even if she's clumsy or incompetent at the task. Elsie unabashedly dives head first into her work not matter how daunting it may seem but she might waddle out of the pool if it proves to be not as easy as she initially expected. Her cowardice at times, again, conflict with what one would expect from a demon. Hence why she easily lets Keima take the lead in all of his conquests and Elsie is content on giving him background support or commentary on his very dramatic strategies though she may act out if she doesn't enjoy the task he's assigned to her.

Despite having less parameters than her human counterpart, Elsie is amusing on her own and much more popular with her classmates than Keima is. Even Keima's own mother prefers her company more. She's sociable and friendly, warming up to people much more easily than Keima would or could. Though she has mastered this aspect of the human world, Elsie is still very new to it and is very fascinated by things most people take for granted. While being obsessed with singing idols is not all that uncommon Elsie also develops a strange obsession for... Fire trucks. Elsie's knowledge about Japanese history is outdated and she fails at most of her classes. But again, despite those oddities, Elsie also appreciates Keima and tries hard to earn his approval even if he's quick to make her flaws known and deny acknowledging her achievements.

Although it's through Keima's gaming skills that allows helps Elsie capture the runaway souls, Elsie still fails to understand how Keima finds his games more fascinating than real people and thinks his habits can be somewhat pointless. At least pointless enough to not understand why he needs to be so protective, defensive and even argumentative about it. But that leads to Keima enlightening her and the audience about the necessity of otoges and illustrate how much Elsie's existence has become an intrusion to his sacred life. But even though he finds her frustrating and annoying and vice versa, they both find one another endearing enough to put up with each other and work together.

Dear Ducky-kami sama!

I know I don't have to type to you like this but I think it's a lot more friendly to address you this way. Kami-sama has a blog too but it's not as pretty as this place. It's sort of plain and it's just filled with his opinion on his games. But, anyway!

Today was a really interesting day. I went to the school's library to look up books about fire engines! [she holds up a two-spread paged picture of one, with a finger pinned right in the middle of it] Aren't they simply amazing? And they're so ... red! I hope to see a real fire engine soon. The library's assistant helped me find books like these and she found lots, lots... lots more! It was amazing! I never people were as interested about writing fire engines as I am about reading them!

But I have a secret... That girl is Kami-sama's next conquest. She doesn't talk a lot so this may be his most difficult challenge yet.

Please don't tell anyone, Ducky-kami-sama! [shuffling back to return to her fire truck books] Now I'm going to ask you all a question. Even though I'm not finished with these ones I already want to know a lot more, so... Ducky-kami sama! I have a favor to ask. Since the Internet is a big place, can everyone help me find fun websites with fire engines on them? That would be really helpful!

Thank you very much,
Elsea de Lute Irma
Third Person:
It had already been late in the afternoon and Keima still hadn't left his room. While the great Kami-sama had worked hard to fill the last conquest's heart and help Elsie capture four runaway souls, that still didn't justify his hermit behavior. Even though Elsie knew what he was up to, a young boy in a dark room, all alone and with only the thought of girls invading his mind and she knew she should absolutely not disturb him... Not leaving his room after all that time, wouldn't his hands start to cramp up? His room was probably a mess and more importantly, wasn't it about time he changed the sheets in his bed?

She sighed quietly as she lamented Keima's very off-putting habits, shaking her head as the weird noises Keima made escaped from the crevices of his room.

"Kami nii-sama..." what am I going to do with you she asks herself before reluctantly turning the knob of his bedroom door, bracing herself for the image she might see.

After witnessing the scene once before, Elsie still didn't understand the point of playing six games at once. A cute boy like Keima should be out with friends and getting fresh air! But instead he's holed himself up in his room with a neat arrangement of monitors and every console ever created running instead.

Elsie still didn't understand how anyone could be content with that sort of lifestyle but that was probably why he was so useful to conquests in the first place. Still. It didn't hurt to hope that he could grow to be more sociable. While Elsie and Keima's mother knew there was more to him than met the eye, no one else was going to get past his "otamegane" status if he forfeited his bodies needs to simply play games. And while he was a great partner, if only he had this sort of motivation towards capturing runaway souls... Or anything and anyone else.

The light glow of screens was starting to hurt her eyes as she took a peek at all of the games he was playing. His hands continued to move at a rapid pace and though she had set her sights on one screen, the dialogue and text changed so fast she didn't even have a chance to read them. So many questions were running through her head, most of them starting with "why" as she slipped back into the hall as unnoticed as she had entered.

Even if he didn't want it right now, she was going to make him eat some real food because no matter what she's been told, it's impossible for someone to live off games. And as Elsie went off to the kitchen to make her hell famous partner, she could hear a cackle as if it was going to prove her mental statement wrong.

Are you at least 15?: Oh yes.
Current Characters: None at the moment.

Character: Yuuki Natsuno
Fandom: Shiki (anime/manga)

Character Notes:
History: At one time he and his family lived in a big city, however his parents moved him to a small town named Sotoba. At fifteen, it's illegal for him to live on his own so he is stuck with them. Not much is known about his life prior to Sotoba, but he is a student at the school, high grades and intelligence. Since his arrival in Sotoba, Megumi Shimizu has fallen in love with him and stalks him constantly. He doesn't have many friends, but one day he was taken in by Mutou Tohru, an eighteen year old and has been close to him since.
Personality: Natsuno's personality is cold. He has one friend and is disinterested in most of the other small town folk. He especially finds them to be frustrating and ignorant. With his friend however, he is warm and every bit a normal teenage boy. He has a paranoid streak, thanks to Megumi, but it leads to poor sleep, and a grumpy disposition and most importantly paranoia. He is supportive of Tohru's attempt to date the town nurse, and it is the fact he stops caring that tips him off to his impending doom. He has a strong desire to stay alive, and in return he vows to take out the Shiki after they kill his best friend. He meets Akira and Kaori trying to discover the Shiki and they band together to get the adults to realize their town is being overrun by vampires. Giving up his own life doesn't seem to mean much and when he finds out Tohru has become one of the Risen, he offers to run away with him, to find a way to exist together because ultimately he just wants to be with his friend. It is after Tohru's passing that he seems to stop sleeping altogether.
Once he knows he is going to die, he becomes resigned quickly, leaving the exposure of the Shiki to Akira and Kaori.
Other:His strongest desire is to leave the village. He dislikes his parents and is ashamed of them because they never married and he wants to throw everything behind and move into adulthood.
*Although he does not realize those dreams, he is a unique case. Instead of becoming one of the Risen, he becomes a Jinrou. Why he becomes one is unclear, but it gives him an advantage in the fight against the Shiki.
*While alive, he has several visions from Megumi's viewpoint of her stalking him, probably implanted by her. One of these visions leads to her attacking Tohru, and he is the first person to realize that Shiki are invading their town.

First Person (entry type):
Megumi is gone. She's finally gone. The summer here is sweltering and yet every night I have to shut my window because that stupid, dumb bitch is sitting out by the tree in my yard, staring through the window at me. But she's gone, died actually. It might have seemed cruel not to take her postcard, but I want nothing more to do with her. I want my freedom back. I want to be able to leave my window open like a human being. I don't care if it's rude to talk about the dead like this, she was a stupid, spoiled bitch who was following me around, staring at me. It was completely disconcerting. When I got out of here, the first thing I was going to do was slap her with a restraining order and run off back to the city, but now at least I don't have to do that. Sotoba is safer with her gone.
[An hour or so passes.]
If she's dead, why is my skin crawling? Why do I feel like she's still watching me? I feel those eyes on me...

Third Person:
The lights in the room were off, and the window firmly shut and locked. Natsuno pulled the blanket off his bed, around his shoulders. He shivered, feeling her gaze. He flicked a glance at the window. It was still shut. He should feel safe, but something was off. He wrapped his arms around his knees, rocking back and forth. She was dead, she was dead and she couldn't get him.

A banging at the door startled him and he cowered. He could practically see it, the way the house looked, dark and silent as Megumi crept up the stairs one step at a time, pausing when it creaked with a muffled giggle. She would skip onto the top step, throw her hair back and walk to his door. With a swoop of her hand, she'd open it and grin, staring at him with her vacant eye sockets, a worm or two sliding out of her lips. She would walk in and whisper "I'll never leave you alone..."

Natsuno snapped out of the vision with a cry and put his head in his hands, trembling. There was no way in hell he would sleep anytime soon, not when Megumi could get him. It didn't matter that it wasn't possible, he knew he was still being hunted.

Character: Moist von Lipwig aka Albert Spangler et. al.
Fandom: Discworld

Character Notes:
History:
Moist was born in Lipwig, Uberwald, to parents who apparently really suck at naming their children. Little is known about his early life, though he apparently did spend a lot of time around the hunting dogs who come from that part of Uberwald, and also lived through some very turbulent times in his country's history, forcing him to learn to survive by whatever means he could.

During this period, he became a conman, at one time working with a man named Cribbins, who taught him everything he (meaning Cribbins) knew. Moist didn't much appreciate many of these lessons, as he felt that Cribbins was an unnecessarily brutal criminal, and Moist tried hard to forget a lot of what he 'learned' during this period.

Moist's big advantage in life is his forgettable face. He's very skilled at making himself impossible to describe to law enforcement, by means of adding features to what would otherwise be an unmemorable visage - adding glasses or a moustache and other features gives people something to point out and describe, and when he takes them off again, he can easily blend into a crowd and disappear.

He uses this, and a natural charisma and intelligence, to swindle greedy people out of their money, ultimately amassing a fortune in excess of 150,000 AM (Ankh-Morpork dollars). Then he gets caught, hanged, and pressed into civil service under his real name, much to his chagrin. He is first tasked with reviving the Ankh Morpork Postal Service, something he does with great success, inventing stamps, investing his entire fortune into the effort, and ultimately exposing the fraud committed by the owners of the Clacks company, thereby giving Lord Vetinari the ability to bring the Clacks under government control. During this period, he meets Adora Belle Dearheart, and begins to court her. He also wears a gold suit, and a hat with wings on it.

Once he's brought the Postal Service under his wing - so to speak - things start to get boring for him, so Vetinari gives him another task - fixing the Ankh Morpork Royal Bank and the Royal Mint. As a former bank robber, he is apparently perfectly suited to this task. He refuses, but ends up roped into it anyway, via a dead old lady who left the damn thing to him. He manages to invent paper money, and saves the Ankh Morpork economy from the greedy Lavish family.

From hints left at the end of this book, he's supposed to fix the taxation system next.

Personality:
Moist is a thrill junkie, but also a good-hearted and non-violent person. He turned to running cons because he loved the adrenaline rush, but prided himself on only swindling people who were trying to swindle him, and on never carrying a weapon or hurting anyone. One thing he learned in Going Postal was that he had, in fact, actually harmed and even killed people, in an indirect manner. This realization is something he initially dismisses as not being his fault, but which affects him deeply. He's literally terrified just holding a weapon, as it raises the stakes - he prefers to avoid violence and to talk himself out of situations wherever possible, or simply to run if talking doesn't work.

Talking usually works.

Despite being physically unremarkable (though generally handsome) Moist is very charming and skilled at getting people to like him. People gravitate towards him instantly, and he's a showman, knowing how to work a crowd, how to get a laugh. If people are laughing, they're not paying attention to what you're really doing. If you can direct their attention over here, they won't see the queen you palmed over there.

Though his real skill is his words, Moist is also a skilled lockpick, pick pocket, and forger. Though he cares for people and eventually accepts his path on the straight and narrow, he can never truly leave his criminal nature behind. He steals Drumknott's pencils, basically because he can, and when Adora Belle isn't around to distract him, he breaks into his own post office, just because he's so bored it seems more interesting than going in through the door.

Other: I'll be initially introducing Moist as Albert Spangler, while he's in Ankh Morpork conducting various confidence scams. My plan is to play through him being captured and thrown in the Tanty, then to BUY A RENAME TOKEN and reintroduce him as Moist under a different journal name. Yup.

First Person (entry type):

[The video turns on, at first showing a far too clear view of Albert Spangler's nose, then pulling back to show him looking a lot more scruffy than normal - his hair unkempt and his moustache and beard full and untamed. He smiles sheepishly at the screen]

Oh…kay, uh, is this working? I finally managed to bribe Bintworth - Ah, I mean persuade that fine upstanding gentleman - to give me one of my personal effects. And by that, I mean that I got him to give me back my journal so I could contact the community, and in return I gave him a few hints to the location of my stash - which actually doesn't exist, and even if it did, I wouldn't tell him where it was.

All of this leading up to say that I'd really like to get out of here before he figures it out.

[He draws a breath, and lets it out, tilting the journal to show a view of his dank, dark cell.]

I've run into a spot of trouble, which is why you've all been deprived of my presence lately. Sorry about that - who knew there was a werewolf in the Watch, eh? [He smiles hopefully] So I was wondering, would anyone be willing and/or able to get me out of here? A little worldhop wouldn't go unrewarded with my undying gratitude. [He lowers his voice to a conspiratorial whisper] And maybe even heaps and heaps of gold.

Or failing that--

[He holds up a spoon - or what once might have been called a spoon. It's now about half a spoon, mostly just the part that isn't…spoony] Could someone at least spot me a new spoon? When I get out, I'll buy you ten more to replace it, I promise.

Third Person:

Moist grabbed a milk crate and turned it over, then jumped atop it, giving a whirl of his arms that was half dramatics, half attracting the attention of the wandering audience that was Ankh Morpork, and half trying to catch his balance - the cobbles weren't perfectly level in the street right outside the post office.

Once he'd caught his balance, he doffed his winged hat and took a bow, adding another flourish. When he straightened, he had produced the sheet of stamps.

"Special edition, Unseen University Tower of Art stamps - now with octarine ink!" The ink, which was the special eighth colour - that of magic - made it nearly impossible to be forged. Moist had tried, and he had never been able to reproduce the green/purple shade. "I promise these will be collector's items. One dollar each - enough to get your letter to Uberwald."

Several people stood around, simply waiting for the show to get better. Most people couldn't really afford a whole dollar for a letter. But even so, a number stepped forward, digging around for big gold dollar coins to buy the stamps. Moist jumped down and began tearing off stamps, handing out stamps as the crowd grew. As he did so, he felt a spark jump between his fingers and the paper, and he had to suppress a yelp.

Maybe it was a good idea not to keep too many of these stamps in one place. Who knew what might happen?

Rejected

[personal profile] thekidsare0kay 2012-07-18 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
We're sorry, this application has been rejected. While you were thorough in your history and personality, and the samples didn't show any glaring problems, there was a persistent issue throughout the application with words being used incorrectly: for example 'doctrine' instead of 'doctorate' and 'bowl movements' instead of 'bowel movements'.

I struggled over this, but I feel I have to reject the application. Given Sheldon's high IQ and the way he talks, as well as all of the scientific concepts that he constantly uses, I feel it's important that the player have a pretty strong grasp of the sort of vocabulary that he would have, at least well enough to be able to research the words and use them correctly in an application (not to mention his posts).

Please feel free to reapply.
