First Person (Text):I figure I've already lost my sanity at this point, so I may as well try and keep myself by writing in a journal. I'm not really sure what's the point in doing this...but then again, what's the point in anything anymore.
What happened? How the hell does one person get up and leave the entire world? Well, I guess it's "her" we're talking about, she is the one the guys upstairs are interested in. Did they get uninterested and toss her away? Has the whole world gone mad? Or have I?
No, no no no...one doesn't just forget "her." But that's the case, isn't it? She...never existed. She's gone. Koizumi is too. Nagato's some shy bookworm now, and Ms. Asahina doesn't even recognize me...and for some reason, Asakura is here too...
...Just...have I really gone insane? Someone, anyone, throw me a bone here! What am I supposed to do, huh?! Am I just supposed to live in this world now? That's it? Splat, boom! Not even a moment's notice! You could at least tell me before you change my world! [Tons of scribbles and marks could be seen.]
...That'd be something, huh.

Third Person: Mentally performing a head count of people exercising their legs to walk up this long hill to North High, the morning couldn't be any more different from before. He scans the look of the students faces--groggy and tired. If anyone else were to analyze himself, it'd probably be the same. Everything was normal. Could you say he was bored? More like content. He was calm, and that was always a good thing. If nothing out of the ordinary happens, that means he can just walk to school with no problems, right? That's more than enough for him. If he could just have no problems every day--or maybe that goes for everyone--it'd be like a utopia!
If only life was that simple.
He oddly wonders how he and "that guy" ever became friends. Because, "that guy" had just showed his face. His really stupid looking face that no other guy could ever wish to be born with.

"'Sup, Kyon! Heeeeehehe!" Kyon nearly cringes at his laugh. For some reason, it really bothered him.
"What are you so chipper about this early." You could hear the enthusiasm in this, as he continues to walk without looking at him.
"Oh, man. I don't even know if I should tell you. Not everyone gets to hear such amazing news!"
"Then don't."
"I got a date!"
If Taniguchi was any sort of considerate, he would've seen the disgust Kyon had grown on his face. Maybe deep down, he figured the peacefulness of the morning wouldn't last for long. This is more than just a problem if Taniguchi suddenly lucked out. He doesn't want to ask, he doesn't want to know. Just keep moving and get the day over with.
"Who's the unlucky girl?"
...He might as well, after all. He remembered what'll happen once he even steps into the classroom anyway.

Character: Shuichi Minamino/Kurama/Yoko Fandom: YuYu Hakusho Character Notes:
History: Kurama’s history starts roughly one thousand years ago (The exact date is unknown) as the legendary demon fox (Kitsune) Yoko Kurama, or just Yoko. Little is known of this part of his history before he became known as a thief throughout the Makai (Demon World in the dub). He specialized in breaking locks and seals, going mostly for ancient treasures and other things of that sort. He was classified by the Reikai (Spirit World) as a Class-A demon, the second highest classification for demon strength, until his presumed death at the heads of a bounty hunter, later revealed as a member of Reikai’s defense force.
Which leads us to his becoming Shuichi Minamino. Using the last of his strength, he formed himself into a ball of energy and crossed into our world, known as the Ningenkai (Human World) and found a human woman in the early stages of pregnancy. Since he was too weak to shift into a human form or possess a living human, he fused with the embryo before it acquired a proper soul and was born to Shiori Minamino and an unnamed man, being given the name Shuichi. His original plan had been to spend ten years in the Ningenkai recovering his strength, then escaping without leaving a trace.
Exactly how he would have done this is unknown, as when he was six years old he needed something on a high shelf and stood on a wobbly stool to get it. When the stool inevitably gave way, his mother, who was doing dishes at the time, caught him, quite possibly saving his life. In the process she severely cut up her forearms on the dishes she dropped in her rush, but through the pain she smiled at him. In the years leading up to it, his father had died, leaving Kurama and Shiori alone. Kurama considered leaving many times after that event, but he always remembered the scars and the smile, realizing that if he left she would be alone.
So we fast forward to Kurama, age fifteen. With his partner Hiei, who he had met the year previous, and another demon he broke into Reikai’s treasury and stole the Forlorn Hope, a mirror that had the power to grant wishes at the cost of one’s life, in order to save his mother’s life. This is how he met Yusuke and became friends with him. After Yusuke saved his life and Kurama surrendered himself to his custody, Kurama began assisting the Spirit Detective in his cases as a way to clear his record.
Personality: Kurama is considered the calm, cool, and collected one of the four Reikai Tantei, though that’s not hard with the impulsive Yusuke, the fire demon Hiei, and the moron Kuwabara. He’s highly analytical, preferring to study his opponent and making up a strategy that puts him twenty steps ahead instead of charging in half cocked. However, by all that is holy do not make him angry. It usually ends in the goriest and most violent death he can come up with at the time, and he’s managed quite a few, including a plant that takes root in the victim’s body. Hiei once said that the original reason he took Kurama as a partner was so he would not have to fight Kurama himself, claiming that in battle Kurama was more vicious than even Hiei himself.
He’s a bit of a mother bear type, being very protective of his family and friends, especially his mother. In the case of his friends he tends to receive the worst injuries when fighting. Although he is usually polite and friendly, he does have a touch of a snarky side, occasionally making comments that fall more on the side of sarcastic than sincere, and once even pulling a rather mean spirited prank on Yusuke.
Other: According to the research I’ve done on Kitsune over the years, they have the ability to shape shift, their preferred forms usually being a beautiful woman, a young girl, or an old man. The shape shifting ability was confirmed in canon in volume three of the manga and one episode in season two of the anime, as was the ability to cast illusions. He has also displayed minor telepathic abilities that seem to be limited to more “mind-speaking” rather than “mind-reading”.
Kurama seems to have developed a sort of split personality in regards to himself as Shuichi Minamino and Yoko Kurama. During one battle he referred to Yoko being separate from Shuichi. There is also a moment in a different battle when Yoko spoke to Shuichi.
In battle Kurama frequently uses plants as his weapons, his main one being a single rose in full bloom that he transforms into his Rose Whip, a ten foot long green whip covered in thorns and sharp as any sword that he can control even without use of his hands. He has also been known to resort to martial arts when he cannot use his plants. He is also the team medic, using the medicinal properties of his plants to treat minor to moderate injuries.
Hello, community. I have a question for you, if you will.
I am, of course, well aware that I am further back in time than most of you so this question will come across as… well, dated. I do apologize for that.
I have been hearing reports of something that has come to be called “the Y2K bug,” and how damaging it could be for the computer industry and other industries that rely on the dating system computers now use. My question is, how damaging was this “bug” and what were the precautions, if any, that were taken?
A somewhat related note, I have been considering a forget the year gathering for the community this year. For those not familiar with it, the forget the year gathering is a Japanese tradition, a party celebrating the year’s end with friends. Would this be something the community at large would be interested in?
Third Person: Kurama loved his plants. This was well known, and he spent hours tending to them, be they his smaller rosebushes kept out on the balcony of his apartment or the houseplants inside. To ask him to choose his favorite would be like asking him to choose a favorite child; it was something he simply could not do.
He also loved his mother. This, perhaps, was far too well known, as many of his enemies tried to use his love for her against him. This attempt frequently ended in their deaths by the same plants that Kurama loved so, save for Yomi. Of course, Yomi would always be a special case.
What Shiori wanted, Kurama tried everything in his power to make certain she received. The day that she looked out his balcony door and sighed, saying that she wished her own plants were as beautiful and healthy his own, Kurama decided that this would be so. The nights that were not spent on study and work, he spent on her wish.
Soon her birthday came around, and while it certainly wasn’t traditional to draw attention to it, to Kurama it was the perfect day to grant it. He had her close her eyes and guided her out to her balcony, Shiori wondering just what could deserve this much secrecy. He laughed and asked her to open her eyes. When she did, she saw a veritable miniature garden, full of vibrant flowers, trailing vines and fragrent roses.
For Kurama, the greatest thing in the world was seeing the smile Shiori gave him in thanks. That smile, after all, was what made him stay as a child, made him willing to give up his life to save hers all those years ago.

Character: Tidus Fandom: Final Fantasy X Character Notes: History: Not much is known about Tidus’ childhood and past, but the few fragments shown speak volumes. The son of a talented and famous Blitzball player, Tidus always felt as if he was in Jecht’s shadow. Those feelings were only amplified by his father, Jecht’s, particular brand of support and love. While not an overly cruel man, to Tidus Jecht was practically a villain. Whenever he was around, he would constantly put Tidus’ efforts at Blitzball down and make fun of him, calling him a crybaby. Because of this, Tidus hates it when people put down others.
Another thing about Jecht that led to more resentment from Tidus was whenever Jecht visited his mother would drop anything and everything to be with Jecht and ignore Tidus completely. Feeling inferior to Jecht, he only hated him more. For many years he never realized it was Jecht who actually would suggest to the woman to pay more attention their son, and he placed all responsibility on Jecht.
When Tidus was seven, Jecht suddenly disappeared at sea. Many believed he was dead, but some were in denial. While Tidus verbally claimed that he hoped Jecht was dead, his mother pointed out that if Jecht was dead, Tidus would never be able to express the hate he felt for him. Not long after, his mother gave up the will to live without Jecht. She became ill and died. It was just another reason for Tidus to resent him.
Fast forward ten years later. Tidus is a famous Blitzball star in his own right, but is still known to many as Jecht’s son. On the night he would play for the Jecht Memorial cup, his home city of Zanarkand was attacked. He didn’t get the chance to play for very long when he was thrown into the chaos and confusion. By not quite a coincidence, he ran into Auron, the man who became something like a guardian to him once he was orphaned. With Auron’s guidance, he managed to defend and fight his way through a wave of grotesque creatures, which he learned where Sinspawn, and the thing that attacked was Sin.
The city of Zanarkand falling around him, Tidus asked Auron for help. He didn’t expect Auron to grab him and throw him up toward the maw of the creature. Luckily (or maybe not), going through Sin is a bit like accidentally inhaling something that makes one hallucinate and stuff. Some trippy experiences later, and Tidus found himself washed up in the cold water surrounding ancient, partially underwater ruins.
Despite the peaceful, however haunting aura the ruins had at first, Tidus couldn’t get a break. Finding shelter within the ruins, he realized that he was virtually stranded. And cold. Shortly after he finally succeeds in creating a fire, he was attacked again. In a strange stroke of luck, a group of strangely clothed people came to his aid. He couldn’t see much of their faces, but they brought exploding things, so they were good as far as he was concerned.
Until they knocked him out a few moments later.
When Tidus woke up again on their ship, he found out several important things:
1. The people who rescued him were Al Bhed. People hated the Al Bhed.
2. The girl who helped him was named Rikku.
3. Sin still existed in this strange place.
4. According to Rikku, Sin destroyed Zanarkand a thousand years ago. Figuring it was a side effect from being too close to Sin’s toxin, Rikku promised Tidus she would take him to Luca in hopes of finding someone who knew him there. She also warned him not to tell others he was from Zanarkand. Yevon said it was a holy place. It was just another term and statement that confused Tidus more and left him more angry and in denial.
Any anger didn’t last long when Sin arrived to wash Tidus overboard. When he awoke, he found himself in the water near the shore of a warmer beach. Or, Besaid Island. To his delight, he was hit in the head with the second familiar thing in this place, literally: a Blitzball. He was displeased to find out he’ll have to continue claiming to have gotten too close to Sin’s toxin to explain his lack of knowledge and statements involving Zanarkand. The blitzball team accepted this explanation. Tidus found out that the coach’s name is Wakka, who happens to be a follower of Yevon. Wakka quickly warmed up to Tidus and looked out for him.
It’s Wakka who informs Tidus of what happened to Zanarkand a thousand years ago. In more detail, anyway. Wakka’s version states that Sin was people’s punishment for greed and letting things get out of hand, but it otherwise matched up with what Rikku said. Depressed by the news, Tidus decided that next time he encountered Sin he would try to get back home. Until then, he would focus on living and trying not to get too homesick. Impressed with Tidus’ blitzball skills, Wakka requested Tidus to play for him at the approaching Blitzball tournament. Tidus agreed.
Tidus didn’t stay at Wakka’s village of Besaid for very long, but in that short amount of time several important things occurred. He found out Crusaders were a group of people intent on beating Sin. They had been battling for eight hundred years. Confused at first, it was clarified that it was more of their job to protect the temples, villages, people and Blitzball stadium from Sin, rather than outright defeating it. Defeating Sin was the duty of a Summoner. There was an apprentice summoner at Besaid temple trying to complete the Cloister of Trials at the moment. Wakka happened to be her guardian. When Tidus found out they could be in trouble, he was quick to enter the Cloister of Trials to find them. He didn’t care that it was against the rules. After completing a puzzle that shouldn’t have taken over a day to complete, he met the apprentice summoner-- who now had her first Aeon and happened to be a full-fledged summoner.
Tidus was surprised to discover the summoner was a girl the same age as he. Her name was Yuna, and she would play an important role in his story.
Later, he witnessed his first summoning as Yuna summoned Valefor. Later on that night, he overheard a conversation between Lulu, another one of Yuna’s guardians, and Wakka. He found out that he physically resembled Wakka’s deceased younger brother, Chappu. Wakka later gave Tidus the same sword he gave to Chappu. Tidus decided to accompany Yuna and her guardians on her pilgrimage, at least until they reached the city of Luca.
Their first stop was Kilika. On the way there, Tidus talked more with Yuna. He found out Yuna knew a man named Jecht, who was her father’s guardian on his pilgrimage. He also found out the day his Jecht disappeared, the Jecht Yuna knew arrived on Spira. Their conversation was cut short by Sin. They did their best to battle it, but it still destroyed most of Kilika village in the process. When they reach Kilika, they arrive at a graveyard. It turns out besides defeating Sin, another summoner’s duty is to send the souls of the dead. If they don’t, they remain unsent, and eventually their spirits corrupt and become fiends, monsters that roam the world of Spira. The morning after Yuna performs the sending, Tidus and everyone else went to Kilika temple. There, Yuna acquires another Aeon, Ifrit. At the temple, Tidus came across another connection between Spira and Zanarkand. The song that played in the temple was a song he knew from his childhood in Zanarkand. With nothing else keeping them at Kilika, they traveled to their next destination, Luca. There, Tidus would play on Wakka’s team, the Besaid Aurochs during the Blitzball tournament. The Besaid Aurochs had a long losing streak, and Tidus as well as the others were determined to change it that year.
Outraged and determined to win, Tidus climbed up some crates and used a megaphone to announce the Aurochs’ looming victory. Shortly after, Tidus saw Maester Mika, and Maester Seymour. The fact that Mika had been a Maester for fifty years seemed strange to Tidus, despite the fact no one else found it unusual. Tidus was reluctant to bow, though Wakka wanted him to.
Yuna told Tidus someone said they saw Auron at a café. Yuna had known Auron as another one of her father, Braska’s, guardians. It was a strange connection. Tidus and Yuna decided to look for Auron before the game. This was when Tidus introduced Yuna to whistling. When they reached the café, Auron wasn’t there, but Yuna disappeared. It turned out she had been kidnapped by the Al Bhed. After rescuing Yuna with Lulu and Kimahri, another of Yuna’s guardians, Tidus found out Yuna was half Al-Bhed.
Tidus ran back to the game, already late. (The outcome of the game depends on the player, so I’m going to say they won the tournament.)
Their victory euphora was short lived since soon after the Blitzball stadium was attacked by fiends. The attack was put to a swift halt when Seymour, in the audience, summoned Anima on the monsters. This was also when Tidus was reunited with Auron.
His reunion is hardly a happy one. Tidus is angry at Auron, blaming him. To his horror, he finds out that Sin is Jecht. Shortly after, Tidus and Auron become Yuna’s guardians.
Their next stop was Mi’ihen Highroad. There, Tidus learned the Calm only lasted ten years before Sin reappeared. He didn’t understand how it was worth it, but Yuna was adamant about it. The fact people could live their lives without fearing Sin, even for a short while, was worth it.
After crossing Mi’ihen Highroad, AKA the most annoyingly long road ever, they reached Mushroom Rock Road. They came across Operation Mi’ihen, a joint operation between the Al Bhed and Crusaders that wanted to permanently defeat Sin. They were surprised to find Seymour was there to show his support, seeing as most followers of Yevon were extremely against the Al Bhed for using machina. It didn’t go as planned. Sin practically obliterated nearly everyone there. Tidus and his group, Maester Seymour, and a few others survived.
After Yuna acquired the Aeon known as Ixion, they went across the Moonflow. There, Yuna was re-captured by Al Bhed, only to be rescued again. After, Tidus was reunited with Rikku, who happened to be Yuna’s cousin. She wanted to be Yuna’s guardian, so she accompanied them on their journey.
Next stop, Guadosalam. After a flashy light so of the Zanarkand of the past, Seymour asked Yuna to marry him. Tidus had his own reservations in accepting the fact that Yuna may say yes. Entering the Farplane with everyone else other than Auron and Rikku, Tidus found out that Jecht’s image wouldn’t appear. Lord Jyscal’s spirit tried to exit the Farplane, only to be sent back by Yuna. This is also the point where he began to fall in love with Yuna. He even verbally admits to it to Lulu. Their next destination was Macalania Temple, but in order to reach it they would first have to cross the Thunder Plains. Much to his disappointment, Yuna decided to marry. In Macalania forest, they entered a hidden area and were ambushed by Spherimorph. After they defeated it, they found Jecht’s Sphere. On it, Tidus saw Jecht express some of his true feelings for his son. For once, he wasn’t just taunting Tidus, though he did some of that too.
Yuna was going to Macalania Temple to propose to Seymour, when she was ambushed by the Al Bhed again. They stopped them, but Wakka found out Rikku was Al Bhed, and his opinion changed toward her from welcoming and friendly to disgust. So they head to Macalania Temple.
And just in time. Before reuniting with Yuna, the group came across a sphere she had hidden from the others. On it was Jyscal, Seymour’s deceased father, claiming that Seymour would soon murder him. Fearing for Yuna, they rushed to confront Seymour.
After battling Seymour and defeating him, Tidus and the group began to run as they were being chased by the Guado. They fell to the bottom of the frozen lake, where Sin would appear and carry them to Bikanel desert, a desert island and secret home of the Al Bhed.
Tidus found out Yuna was missing. Rikku said the Al Bhed had taken her to Home. Tidus and the others were guided by Rikku to Home, which is the home for the Al Bhed, but also much like a fortress. It turned out Home was under attack. In fact, it was practically a massacre. It turns out the attack had been launched by the Guado and followers of Yevon.
Tidus was horrified to find out the reason the Al Bhed were kidnapping summoners was because at the end of a summoner’s pilgrimage, if they were successful in beating Sin, they had to sacrifice their lives in the process. Tidus was outraged he had been oblivious to it up until this point, and felt guilty for always talking to Yuna about what would happen after she beat Sin. He was still horrified by the news, but refused to let Yuna die. Rikku shared his sentiments.
For the time being, their focus was finding Yuna before the Guado did. They weren’t successful. They rode an Airship, led by Yuna’s uncle and Rikku’s father, Cid, leader of the Al Bhed. They managed to find out she was being held in the city of Bevelle. Seymour, apparently unsent, was still determined to marry her.
Tidus and the others ambushed Bevelle, but not before he declared to Cid he would never let Yuna die. He and the others managed to put a dent into the ceremony, but didn’t outright stop it. When Seymour ordered the guards to kill Yuna’s friends anyway, she jumped off the building, using Valefor to catch her. Tidus and the rest went to Bevelle temple to catch up with her.
Yuna managed to obtain another Aeon, Bahamut. The others did catch up, only to have the guards capture them. They were put on trial before the four Maesters of Yevon: Grand Maester Mika, Maester Kelk, Maester Kinoc, and Maester Seymour. Yuna tried to reason with them, claiming Seymour was an unsent, only to her surprise as well as Tidus and the others, Mika was another unsent. They learned the Maesters viewed Sin as an inevitable, neverending cycle of death.
They didn’t have much time to dwell on that, because they were separated and thrown into the Via Purifico under the assumption they would die there. Tidus, Rikku, and Wakka were thrown into the Purifico’s sewers, separated from the others.
Eventually, they all met together, to fight Seymour in a different form. Again. Once they defeated him, again, they escaped Bevelle and went to Macalania Woods.
When they reached Macalania Forest, Yuna’s guardians gave her some time alone. The only person who followed her to the water was Tidus. The conversation they held there and actions they led up to would change everything forever.
Tidus told Yuna about Zanarkand, urging her to quit and live a normal life like she wanted. While seeming to consider the fact, Yuna broke down crying, so Tidus kissed her to calm her down. Knowing this was her decision to make, he saw no reason not to. He would finally express to her what he felt.
So they made out in the water, and Tidus promised Yuna he would stay with her always.
After traveling the Calm Lands, their next destination was Mt. Gagazet, home of Kimahri and the other Ronso. During their trek, Rikku and Tidus discussed how they were going to stop Yuna from dying without much progress. Everyone ran into Seymour again. Seymour killed the Ronso barring his path before. The unsent Maester believed that if he could become Sin, he would free Spira from its eternal suffering. Transforming into Seymour Flux, he fought Tidus and the others again, only to be defeated. Yet again.
Without much stopping them now, they headed to Zanarkand to obtain the Final Aeon. It was known doing so would kill Yuna in the process, but Tidus and Rikku refused to let that happen.
Before that, Tidus would have a strange experience involving the Fayth (souls of the dead willingly put into statues so that summoners could use them as Aeons). Entering a dream like state, Tidus talked with Bahamut’s Fayth. He was told that he was a dream. Everyone from Zanarkand was, because Zanarkand was a dream conjured up by the Fayth in an attempt to save its memory after it was defeated by the machina of Bevelle a thousand years ago. While Bahamut’s Fayth was somewhat cryptic, he basically said that the Fayth were tired of dreaming, but if they stopped dreaming the dream would end. Tidus was upset to hear that. He didn’t care about his existence, he merely liked living. Bahamut’s Fayth pleaded for Tidus to end it for him, and said Tidus and Jecht were both now than dreams.
Tidus was upset, naturally, but as soon as he awoke to the worrying faces of his friends and Yuna, he put on his normal cheerful act and pretended nothing happened.
He saw the real city of Zanarkand, the dead city, and the final destination of many summoners. They stopped for the night, creating a campfire, and Tidus told his story up until that point to everyone else. As they went deeper into Zanarkand, they saw the memories of those who had previously journeyed there thanks to the pyreflies that swarmed through the place. Tidus learned about Seymour’s past, and Auron’s. It was time to confront Yunalesca. They wanted there to be another way to stop Sin, but Yunalesca basically repeated the Maester’s words. Tidus and the other’s witnessed the memories of Auron’s death when he had attacked Yunalesca in outrage for losing Braska and Jecht, his friends, for the sake of continuing a pointless cycle. Yunalesca refused to accept Yuna’s new resolve to permanently defeat Sin rather than continue with false hope, so they had to fight her. After defeating Yunalesca, she revealed that Yu Yevon was the one creating Sin again each time, and he was immortal.
Tidus learned that Jecht was the reason Auron had always watched over him in Zanarkand. Auron had promised Jecht to take care of his son, and he did.
Tidus and the others came up with a plan.
If they attracted Sin by using the Hymn of the Fayth, as Jecht much like Tidus enjoyed the tune, they could beat Sin and Yu Yevon. Sin was Yu Yevon’s armor, and after they defeated it, a new Sin would be born. However, the new Sin would be significantly weaker, as it grew over the time during the Calm. They could beat this weaker Sin, and continue doing so until there were no more Aeons left to use.
Summoning Sin with the Hymn of the Fayth worked, and when they entered Sin Seymour was there to greet them. They fought him another, final time. This time, Yuna did manage to send him, and he wouldn’t get in the party’s way any more.
Tidus and Jecht reunited. They may have been on more understanding terms than they ever had been in the past, but tension was high and their emotions were heavy. The two settled it the best way they knew how, by doing what they had to do. When Jecht transformed into Braska’s Final Aeon, they fought it until it hardly had any life left. Tidus held his father as he died, crying like the nickname Jecht would taunt him with. Jecht was proud of his son, and Tidus told him he was glad to have him as his father.
The time for tearful goodbyes ended quickly when Yu Yevon appeared. It was time for Yuna to call all of her Aeons, so that they could defeat them and leave Yu Yevon vulnerable. They finally managed to defeat Yu Yevon, ending Sin, and ending Spira’s spiral of death. Yuna began her sending, but hesitated when Auron began to disappear. However, Auron was ready to die, so he was sent with all the other dead souls. Meanwhile, while the others looked around in awe, Tidus was beginning to disappear.
Distraught himself, Tidus tried telling the others goodbye. Some of them, Yuna, Rikku, and Wakka-- were in denial. When Yuna ran to Tidus, she ended up passing right through him, falling to the surface of the airship’s roof. Standing up again, she told Tidus she loved him. Even though he was crying at this point, he gave her a hug, an embrace Yuna wasn’t able to feel. Walking right through her, he jumped off the airship, into the Farplane. The dream had ended, but he saw Braska and Auron there, and finally Jecht. Slapping his father’s hand in greeting, understanding, and on more equal ground, Tidus’ story has almost ended.
Two years later, Tidus woke up in the ocean by Besaid, again. The Fayth had conjured Tidus back up to existence, because Yuna wanted them to. Running with Yuna, he discovered she had changed, but it wasn’t a bad one. He looked forward to hearing her tell him everything.
Personality: At first, Tidus comes across as more of a self-centered teenager than a hero. He's not unkind, but he isn't always aware of the problems the new world he finds himself in, Spira, often faces. To be fair, he only recently arrived there. It takes tagging along on a pilgrimmage with a girl he only just met, and later becoming her guardian, for him to take on the role of a leader and become a more compassionate person in the process.
Tidus is a very emotional guy, and this is often a source of conflict for him. Much like Jecht, he’s outspoken about everything. Early on in the game, he’ll often complain in battle. Despite how strong his emotions might seem on the surface—how excited he’ll seem to get, how quick he is to snap at certain things, or much to his annoyance, how quickly his tears come at times—he tends to keep his most fragile, vulnerable parts to himself to just himself. What better way to keep others from guessing than by being an open book? Even with his energy, acting like the cheerful, easygoing guy he is can get tiring, and there are certain times when he’s prone to acting on his temper. Most people would see it simply as some guy getting upset and dismiss it, but Tidus has allowed a couple of people to get closer to him and understand those types of reactions. Tidus doesn’t like it when people worry about him though, so this is rare. He trusts people, he can even see them as family, but for the most part he will always keep that barrier up, to protect himself and others.
If he were ever to drop that barrier completely, that would just mean he’d admitted defeat. Since he tried to hide the facts that Sin is Jecht, and later on that he was a dream of the Fayth who would die if they permanently defeated Sin and Yu Yevon, it would take a lot for him to reach that point. Tidus is strong-willed, stubborn even, and he has a prideful nature on top of that. He would likely have had to, to get where he is at his age while refusing to use his father’s famous name for any help. His confidence sometimes borders on arrogant, another trait he shares with Jecht, though he’d adamantly argue otherwise. The difference between him and Jecht is that Tidus doesn’t believe he’s the best, and he believes that anyone else could do what he does…provided they put the effort into it. Rather than shoot people down, he supports them. He wants to see his teammates and friends win. His supportive nature might have to do with the fact that he didn’t have it when he needed it.
Often, Tidus may appear denser than he really is. While there are times he really is that dense (such as when he sniffs Auron after Seymour mentions the "Farplane scent"), many of his seemingly unintelligent comments come from the fact that he was from a world modeled after a city that existed a thousand years into the past only to be thrown a thousand years into what he thought was the future. Real Zanarkand or Dream Zanarkand, it might has well been a different world from the Spira he suddenly finds himself in. He might be overly outspoken at times, and not one for thinking ahead, even cannonly admitting that he's bad at waiting and thinking...but he's not a complete idiot. He shows distaste at having to pretend he's sick thanks to Sin's toxin, and suffering memory loss in order to not stick out so much in Spira.
Tidus is intuitive, often stating his feelings about a situation or person that turn out to be right. He does have a unique perspective of Spira, considering he’s not originally from there, but these traits aren’t restricted to his different origins alone. He once states that often his bad feelings he gets turn out to be true. Soon enough after, the Blitzball tournament he competes in is ambushed by fiends, and he also finds out that Sin is his father. Another example would be his first and following impressions of Seymour. Sure, he was probably jealous that someone who was famous and admired in Spira showed such a strong interest in the girl he was beginning to really care for, but he was also one of the first to really notice that Seymour was bad news. I believe the fact that Tidus isn’t from Spira lends to some of his more unclouded observations, but he still has good intuition and memory, often relying on his emotions.
One flaw of Tidus' at first is his tendency to go more with the flow while neglecting to plan ahead. For a long time in-game, even after he finds out Sin is his father, he didn't bother with any sort of plan. He just stuck by Yuna's side with the idea that they both have the same goal in mind: defeat Sin. It isn't until after he finds out Yuna defeating Sin would also mean her death, did he begin to try and come up with a plan. It takes growing close to another person, and realizing how important Yuna and his new friends are to him to take on the role of more of a leader for the group.
Tidus is pretty resilient in the sense that he doesn't allow anything to stop him for very long. Whenever something bad has happened, he seems to bounce back quickly enough. However, he has been accused of running away from problems. His upbeat nature may be another form of running. He may seem to always be looking ahead to others, but there are times when Tidus has used this to conceal the fact that he sometimes dwells on the past, if only to himself. Other times, he runs from the past, reacting in anger so that he doesn't have to face certain things, like the fact that Jecht actually loved him. Tidus was still upset that his father suddenly left him and his mother when he was seven (however unwillingly). Feelings of abandonment were only made worse when his mother gave up and fell ill, passing away shortly after. Tidus was never given the chance for closure. He already resented his father for always insulting his efforts, and the fact that whenever he was around his mother would pay him no attention. He villainized his father, not wanting to believe any of the praise the people he met later was true. He didn't want to see this other side of Jecht.
Eventually, he did seem to realize that Jecht had a hard time expressing his feelings, something Tidus shares, though the latter tends to be a lot warmer about it. They came to an understanding despite the fact that Tidus was still conflicted over everything. His last words to Jecht were, "I hate you," after all. Still, not long after, as Tidus jumped into the Farplane, he gave his old man a high five seeming to make some sort of amends.
The change of heart was thanks to his journey through Spira. Faced with a new reality that other people have dealt with all their lives, a world where death is prominent and often premature, he began to realize why Yuna wanted to sacrifice her life for an entire world. Yuna helps change him, and while he adamantly refused to see more people sacrificed—witnessing too many deaths firsthand—he started to become more selfless than the celebrity we first see in Dream Zanarkand. In the end, it was him who sacrificed his own life, so that the rest of Spira can live the way they want.
His life before Spira may have been a dream, but when Tidus learns what it means to really live, he does just that. This is his story, and he'll decide on the ending.
Other: - Much like his father, Tidus tends to scratch the back of his head when nervous, abashed, guilty, or if the moment is just plain awkward. Probably best to not bring that up to him though.
- Tidus shares a striking physical similarity with Wakka’s deceased brother, Chappu. It has been mentioned many times in the game, as well as noted to be the reason they shared such a sibling like bond.
- Tidus is shown to have had light brown hair as a child. Whether his hair simply lightened naturally in the sun, or he dyes it (especially looking at those dark roots), is up for debate. Personally, I like the dyed idea, as he’s arrogant enough at times to be somewhat vain.
- When under stress, Tidus has a random way of showing it, such as screaming out loud even when around people he knows, or laughing like a maniac. Hey, it works.
First Person (entry type): an entry posted on the community. Third Person: For Tidus, the issue of the Community and his friends on Spira wasn’t even a question. There was just no way they could know about it. There was no room for debate. He had already been thought of as crazy, or ill, before thanks to his unique origins, and it would be too soon to repeat that experience. Before, on the pilgrimage, his sudden and often untimely moments of running away to hide some virus could have just been another side effect of Sin’s toxin. Yeah, that’s what he went with. Then, after everything, it hadn’t been such a big issue since he had worldhopped. None of them knew he even still existed.
But, he didn’t want to think about that. As if sensing his unease, a hand gently curled around his palm.
Now, that he was back in Spira thanks to the outright bullheadedness that Summoner he traveled with had managed to adopt in two years--she had always had that determination, of course. She was just a lot more outspoken about it than before--Tidus wasn’t sure how to explain his future disappearances. Oh, I got too close to the Farplane so now I’m prone to strange eccentricities.
Well, maybe that would work.
After reflecting a bit longer, he settled on a decision that was comfortable to him: he’d deal with it later. It worked pretty well in the past, and right now there were things to be happy about. Like the new house—tent, that he was about to move into with Yuna. The tent sat next to many of the others that consisted of Besaid village, small and practical, yet bright and colorful. In some ways, it was a bit surreal to him, since he hadn’t considered himself settled ever since living in his houseboat. The two homes were nothing alike, but that’s still what it was to him, his home. . She was talking to him now, about how it probably wasn’t like what he was used to. Beaming, he swung her hand.
“No, it’s not. It’s better than what I’m used to.”
The tent itself wasn’t that important, and it didn’t matter that they wouldn’t necessarily be there all the time, with Rikku dragging Yuna off to find spheres, and Tidus…doing whatever he thought of doing. His home was with Yuna, and everyone else, just as it had been when they had all traveled together. Shooting her a smirk, he recognized that new challenging look in her eyes, something more playful, another thing that had changed. Just because his girlfriend could run faster now and he was two years out of practice didn’t mean he would give up on winning. Sprinting, he could feel his feet pounding on the trail that led the rest of the way, he could feel the air in his lungs, humid and thick. He could hear Yuna’s laughter, as she teased him, and everything felt more real than it had in a while.
He never reached the tent before he and Yuna ended up in a tackling heap on the ground.

Character: Lambdadelta Fandom: Umineko no Naku Koro ni Character Notes: History: Only a few things're known about Lambdadelta pre-Umineko. As a Voyager Witch she's been traveling between worlds for quite a long time. While unverified, she claims ancient kings attempted to curry her favor. At a likely early point in her existence as a witch, she became stuck in a logic contradiction, and was forced to spend a eternity in it until she figured out a solution.
One of the things she's been doing is granting wishes to people that interested her. Only two made wishes that she found particularly promising. One wish is implied to have led to the events of Higurashi, and while the wishmaker let her down, that 'game' brought Bernkastel into existence. The other wish, by Beatrice to be acknowledged as a witch, led to the setup that became Umineko. At this point, Lambdadelta summoned her dear friend Bernkastel to join her in this new game.
This led to a series of 'games' that consisted of ritualistic murders on the isolated island Rokkenjima, which repeated in a loop of different iterations due to Battler's refusal to acknowledge those murders as the work of magic, pitting him against the witch's side in a battle of logic. Lurking in the background of the games, Lambdadelta didn't take too overt action at first. Her goal was to entrap Bernkastel in an endless game, and she pressured Beatrice to this end, promising her punishment if she lost.
Then she started stepping in, taking measures to prevent a premature end such as sabotaging Bernkastel's introduction of Ange by ensuring that Ange could only be used to her full powerful effectiveness once, and chaining Beatrice to the game table to prevent her from leaving it. In the end, Beatrice's consciousness collapsed, but she remained trapped by that chain, unable to surrender until a truly decisive victory had been reached.
So, in order to keep the game going, Lambdadelta stepped in and took over Beatrice's position as Gamemaster. In disgust at this takeover of the role he considered Beatrice's, Battler refused to play, but accepted Bernkastel's taking over his own place as a player. And so the game between Beatrice and Battler became a game between Lambdadelta and Bernkastel.
Lambdadelta thus proceeded with running her own 'cute' game, taking it in different directions than Beatrice had, ones displeasing to Beatrice's servants and Battler. The game was suspended when Bernkastel decided to give her answer about the culprit. But then Battler understood the truth and became the new gamemaster, and Lambdadelta acknowledged it and handed the 'chessboard' of Rokkenjima over to him.
The canon point is shortly after the start of the sixth game (the same point as Battler's current point).
Personality: The most immediate impression of Lambdadelta tends to be as a weird and childish person. Making bizarre declarations such as calling herself super paper in a paper-rock-scissors of witches' strength, throwing a tantrum after being teased about Santa not coming for her, her love for candy, and so on.
Not only that, but she often comes off as prideful and boastful, with her proclamations of herself as the strongest witch and the Witch of Certainty who can make something absolutely certain without fail, etc.
But underlying this is a cunning mind. At many points she discusses the games quite seriously. For example, she completely demolished Battler's shoddy arguments at the end of the fourth game in her private lovemaking discussion session with Bernkastel afterward.
Not only that, but she can be fairly cruel and merciless. There's a definite sadistic delight in the manner in which she talks about her 'punishment games' and she'll rig people into almost impossible situations, such as having to choose between having their own husband killed or sitting in a closet while listening to someone getting murdered and doing nothing about it.
And yet, she has a special liking for those with the determination to make their efforts come true, no matter how difficult it might be. She's been known not only to show mercy to them, but to aid them. That's right! She'll even give her all for them! To the point where it literally kills her! Determined underdogs, Lambdadelta's here for you! Although she's so frequently disappointed, by people with paltry ambitions, or whose efforts stop short of that needed to realize their desires.
Boredom is her worst enemy as it generally is for witches like her. A lot of what she does is to distract herself from the hell she was trapped in as she spent what seemed like an eternity trying to figure her way out of the logic error she had trapped herself in. She still fears that the life she is living now isn't reality, that she's just suffering a delusion while still trapped in that hell.
Other: Lambdadelta is, quite simply, overpowered even for an Umineko witch. Fortunately, she tends to exercise a fair amount of restraint, often preferring to act through subtle means rather than simply using her magic willy nilly. I plan to be quite, quite careful with uses of her formidable magical talents as to avoid godmoding people.

You see, ever since I found you on my book, I've been observing you. Such a wonderfully marvelous thing, an internet community that spans worlds! Ahh, if only I had thought it up. It's definitely a wonderful game, and one I'll play!
After all, it's a game with power beyond even that of the strongest witch in existence. Even if I tried, I wouldn't be able to bulge it from my book. Yes, I can see that I'm in a player in this game regardless or not I want to play. There's no need to humilate myself with multiple futile attempts, right?
Good thing this promises to be a game that won't bore me! Whoever might be responsible for this game, as the Witch of Certainty, I accept your challenge! I must say I approve of the duck theme. It's perfectly cute and enough for me.
Third Person: [A cake had appeared in front of her. A mysterious, suspicious cake. One that couldn't possibly be anything other than a trap intended for her. Carefully, she inspects it with all her senses. It looks like a wonderfully delicious, delectable cake. It smells like a wonderfully delicious, delectable cake. It tastes like a wonderfully delicious, delectable cake.
Ahh, so worth falling into the obvious trap. As Lambdadelta tumbles into the new shape the virus is forcing her into, she feels no regrets. Such wonderful cakes're worth it.
And this virus looks like one that won't bore her.
What? This shape was not cute at all! Such a hideous shape to find herself in, with the bulbous eyes and the warty skin, and the dull gray mottled colors. So humiliating, to be in an ugly shape like that. One not befitting for a witch like her. Something pink would've been better.
Yes, this virus definitely wouldn't bore her.
The cake was still worth it. Ahh, how the memories of its sweetness fulling her taste buds continues to tickle her tongue.]
