Pele | Hawaiian Mythology

Personality:
As you could probably tell from her history, Pele is something of a bitch. Spiteful, vindictive, unnecessarily cruel and the very definition of a spitfire personality. She's quick to anger, difficult to truly placate, easily falls in fits of jealousy and becomes dangerously violent at the smallest provacations. She is also horribly possesive of anything she deems as hers, be it lovers, her family, or her land. Especially her land. In her eyes, she made it, and she can just as easily take it right back. The lava flows are proof enough of that.

If she sees something she wants? She will get it. No matter what. If she has to lie or flirt or throw innocent charm around like confetti, she will, and she'll continue to until she has the object of her desire. If she doesn't, she'll get violent, and then bad horrible things will happen from then on out.

She is highly competitive as well, once challenging a well known sleding champion to a race down the mountain side. He turned her down, refusing to race a woman, and enraged at being spurned Pele sent a torrent of fire and lava toward him. Luckily, he was able to outrun the attack and escaped into the ocean, one of the lucky few to ever survive her wrath.

However, on the other side of the coin, she can, surprisingly, be quite caring and gentle. She's a giver as much as she is a destroyer, always creating new land to replace everything lost in her moments of fury. She can also be very loving and serene to those she's close to. Case in point: her baby sister, Hi'iaka. A fellow goddess of dance and her favorite sibling by far, Pele carried the egg that held Hi'iaka with her on their journey to Hawai'i, and cared for and raised her once they had reached the islands. Even though Pele had once lost her temper with her in the event with the cheif from Kaua'i, she honestly regreted her actions, something almost unheard of from her. Pele also holds great respect for her elders, especially for her older brother Ka-moho-ali'i, shark god and holder of the water of life.

Unsurprisingly, Pele also bores quite easily, and constantly leaves her home in the crater to gallivant up and down the island chain as she pleases. She loves her booze, loves her dancing, and owns a large white dog that appears to have no real name. She has a talent for shapechanging, often appearing as anything from her usual form of a young woman to a large ball of flame. Urban legends also have it that she enjoys playing occasional games with the mortals she comes across, and will take the guise of an old woman and approach them for favors. If the person is kind and helpful, they gain her blessing and good fortune follows. If they don't....well, it kinda sucks to be them, that's all I'm saying.

Other: If accepted, she'll remember her previous time on the community and I'll be taking her from there.
