Mikaela Banes || Transformers || 4/?

This, in particular, proves to be a problem. Mikaela gets caught in the crossfire of a battle between her world's Bonecrusher and the Megatron from Sari's world, and has her legs stomped off. She spends a lot of time recovering at the military's Autobot liaison base under the ministrations of Apollo's son Asclepius. Just as she's starting to get handy with her wheelchair, Apollo himself comes and regenerates her legs in their entirety. Unfortunately, she's not left without (metaphorical) scars of the incident, and suffers from nightmares and occasional, unexplainable leg pain.

Despite the interruption in her life, Mikaela manages to graduate on time from high school, along with Sam. (Thanks, Tieria!) That summer, among VARIOUS OTHER COMMUNITY SHENANIGANS I AM SURE, everyone on the community from her world gets species swapped, and Mikaela gets to spend some time Cybertronian. It's an interesting experience for her, to say the least. She also spends a few days on the Ptolemy, thinking that she’s married to Tieria. Understandably, this strains her relationship with Sam, especially since she can't deny being very close to Tieria even without the influence of the virus.

Not long after that, her dad gets released from prison! The two of them got a job together in a motorcycle repair shop.

When Sam gets accepted to college halfway across the country, he asks Mikaela to join him. She refuses, saying she needs to help support her dad--which is true enough, although she's made enough money in the recent sale of her Lamborghini that she could probably support her dad from across the country without a problem. She worries about him, though, and with things so strained between her and Sam, she doesn't want to move, so Sam goes off without her--but not before giving her a fragment of the Allspark that had been hidden in her clothes to keep safe.

It's obvious, though, that her relationship with Sam is a bit troubled. He misses their first webcam date, and she's pissed when he calls her the next day, babbling about having a breakdown in class and asking her to bring the fragment to him. When the Decepticon agent Wheelie sneaks into her garage to try and steal it, Mikaela realizes something big is going on. She locks the little 'Con in a metal case, grabs the shard, and takes off for Princeton.

Upon her arrival there, she finds Sam making out with another girl, which doesn't help things much. Of course, that other girl is the Pretender Alice, who was trying to get information from him and proceeds to try and capture them, but she's still pissed. The two of them, plus Sam's tagalong roommate Leo, manage to evade Alice, only to be snagged by Grindor Blackout, who's operating under the returned Megatron's instructions.

Mikaela can do nothing but watch, horrified, as Megatron and Scalpel pin Sam down and probe his brain for the information they believe to be stored there. Upon confirmation that he does know something, the decision is made to remove his brain, but before that can happen, the Autobots descend on the warehouse. Prime rescues Sam, and Bumblebee takes off with Mikaela and Leo.

After Prime's fall at Megatron's hands in the forest, Sam rejoins the others. The three humans, accompanied by Bumblebee, Skids, and Mudflap, are forced to go to ground when the Fallen comes to Earth and publically reveals himself, broadcasting a demand for Sam to the entire planet.

Desperate to figure out what's going on inside Sam's head, what the significance of his hallucinations are, Leo suggests that they visit the online rival of his conspiracy information site. This turns out to be Simmons, who, despite his initial reluctance, agrees to help them. In Simmons' sub-deli lair, Mikaela releases Wheelie from his captivity, and the little Decepticon tells them they need a Seeker to read the symbols in the ancient language Sam’s been seeing.
