Personality: Due to Cassian’s history, he has a severe distrust of people and always expects the worst from them. He has no tolerance for those who consider themselves “higher” then others and has a total disregard for social ranking. Since he grew up in a society that turned it’s back on him, he’s really given up on the entire system, and prefers a life in the shadows.
Although it’s true he has no interest in anyone, and generally holds no respect for others, it is unfair to say Cassian is heartless. There are some cases where Cassian has been proven wrong about a person and does develop respect for them. It’s a rare occurrence, but there are times when someone will push into his heart and that person will remain extremely important to him. These people and relationships he becomes very protective of and would do anything for them.
When Cassian is faced with an issue or a problem he needs to solve, he’ll focus on it and do everything in his power to fix/solve it. However, the one thing he won’t do is ask for help. His pride is the only thing he had left to hold on to when he was rejected by society, s it still plays a big part in his actions and decisions. If he is faced with a problem he can’t solve, the only thing he’d do is ask advice, and even then only from someone who he trusts.
Other: Due to education levels for the poor in Cassian’s time, he only has a 3rd grader’s reading and writing level.
[A video feed starts, there’s a young boy with black hair looking at the screen.] What kind of book has no pages and no words? This thing’s ridiculous, I knew Delilah had some strange books, but this is just useless. [He walks away.] What do I care, anyway? It’s not like I would’ve been able to read the stupid thing.
Third Person:
Cassian looked out on the city as people finished their daily errands and headed home to their families. They all looked so normal, so safe.
He knew there was no point in watching them, he gained nothing from it, in fact, it did little else then depress him. Here were people in normal sized bodies living normal lives with their normal jobs and normal families.
That’s all he had ever wanted. But the longer he watched, and the longer he lived in his abnormal body and his abnormal life, the more he realized how overrated and boring normality and simplicity was.
The clock chimed, pulling him from his revere. He needed to go back to Delilah, back to the abnormality and chaos. Back to what he has come to expect.
(( I hope it's ok, I just continued the original.))

[A sigh can be heard and he walks back in view.]
What was that kid thinking? He could’ve gotten shot, proably killed, and he just stood there, like he was waiting for it to happen...wanting it.
Probably has a death wish, no surprise there, it’s not like life’s a kind creature, but if he thinks I’m just gonna stand aside the next time he pulls something like that...
........this is ridiculous. Why do I care so damn much?
[He scoffs.]
Whatever, maybe I’m just tired, not getting enough sleep at night. I should just go to bed.
[He moves to blow the lamp out but pauses, thinking.]
I wonder if those doll things...maybe if the way they’re run is perfected, maybe that could be the key to having a normal body...maybe.
I’ll leave it for the doc to handle for now, it’s not like I know how to do it, I’ll just go to bed.
[Another pause.]
What if he’s doing something stupid right now, like playing with something sharp to close to his own stupid neck...or messing with the Cardmaster.
Damn it! I’ll just go check on him and then I’ll get some sleep!
We're sorry, but this application has been rejected. We feel that your samples do not show a distinct character voice; we would recommend working on flow, as well as taking notice of the character's motivation for saying the things he does. Please feel free to reapply!
