History:Once upon a time, Ruby was a human -- sometime in the 1350s to be precise. But, Ruby was dabbling in witchcraft and she got in deep. She sold her soul to a demon named Tammi to boost her witchy talents and wound up getting sent to Hell for her efforts. It should be noted that through some of Ruby's comments made to Dean and Sam throughout season 3 and 4, particularly about remembering what it's like to lose someone and her displeasure to run into Tammi again, I generally make it a headcanon rule that she lost someone close to her (specifics of which she genuinely doesn't remember) in the process to becoming a witch, or perhaps even that was why she began to dabble in witchcraft. In any case, over time, Hell? It changes a person. It rips them up and spits them out and carves them into a new animal. Ruby's kind of the cautionary tale of what would happen if Dean had hung around in Hell too long because after hundreds of years of that torment, she turned into a demon. Her very humanity was carved out of her. The general step-by-step is that Alastair makes sure that his students carve everything out. Leave nothing that might lend to a hint of sympathy, but Ruby still has flashes -- memories. She remembers what being human, feeling things, and even being hurt feels like. Which is pretty much why she gets commissioned by Azazel to rope the Winchesters into releasing Lucifer -- because who better to toy with people's feelings than one of the few demons who can still understand them? And so, Ruby got her very own special covert operation. Only Lilith, Azazel and Ruby were privy to this information, and she set about getting the boys on her side.
She first appeared to them after the Devil's Gate was opened. She stalks Sam and Bobby on their hunt for the seven deadly sins and, when a confrontation ensues, Ruby uses her magic demon-killing knife to take two and a half out. (Sam helps her on the third.) She knows that by making herself A.) a useful presence, B.) a reliable one, and C.) mysteriously badass, she'll get not only their attention, but spark enough interest to eventually warrant some trust. After that she pretty much continues to stalk the boys, but she only makes herself known to Sam and taunts him with pieces of information about Azazel and the whole Antichrist thing. She calls herself a hunter because she knows that she needs to get him interested and eating out of the palm of her hand before she continues on to reveal who she really is. He won't trust a demon out of the gate, she needs to lead him into seeing that she has something to offer him, and then she can lay the smackdown. As she tries to make promises that she knows how to save Dean's soul, Ruby reveals herself as a demon to Sam during their second meeting in an attempt to show off how ~straight forward and honest and trustworthy~ she is. After that, Ruby goes to help Bobby fix the Colt -- despite him trying to threaten her with it -- to make herself, again, seem more trustworthy and like she's trying to genuinely help them. To be a good guy, you need to help the good guys, even when that means fixing the things that can fully and horribly murder you. When Sam threatens her with the Colt, she bribes him into not killing her with further vague promises of Dean's being released from his deal and they make a begrudging pact to help one another out.
History:Love has a silly little way of taking a person’s life and changing it in unexpected ways, some good, some bad. For Melissa she got a little bit of both in her life when she married Bill Quackenbush. But how could she resist such a charming man? He had been such a romantic, treated her in all the right ways, even going so far as to write love letters to her that she would cherish all her life.
That was why she felt it was the right choice to have a child with Bill. Bill had gotten a stable job at the chicken factory, they had a home, and they were madly in love, all the right reasons to bring a child into the world.
On the night that Candy was born, though, the world seemed to be entirely against Melissa and Bill. They had gotten into his truck as her water broke and headed out to the hospital. Once they were on the road, though, it seemed like the sky itself had been torn open and all the water had come pouring down. Melissa didn’t even remember a cloud in the sky before they’d left. It didn’t much matter, though. The night was cold and the rain was harsh, and to add to their problems the truck had run out of gas.
Bill left Melissa in the truck alone, promising to return with gas as soon as possible. Melissa tried to wait patiently in the truck, but her contractions got closer together and more painful as the time went on. She was barely coherent when she saw three figures approach the car. She knew she should have tried to lock the doors, tried to keep them away, but she was beyond being able to think and instead she let them open the door to the truck, take out a small box. When the oldest woman opened the box the whole truck was flooded with a bright light that seemed to invade Melissa’s body. But she knew it wasn’t after her, it was after her unborn child. Candy.
That night was a blur to Melissa from then on. She couldn’t even remember the light after a time, so convinced that it was a delusion in her pained state. Time went on in the Quackenbush household and Melissa never once suspected that her daughter was different from what she knew of her.
As time went on Bill and Melissa had two more children, two sons named Don and Ricky. Bill eventually became disenchanted with life and took to drinking to hide from it. Drinking led to him losing his job, which led to fights between Melissa and Bill about finding another, and eventually led to resignation that this was the life she now led.
Fifteen years later Melissa was tired by her own life. Her children were her only light left in life as Bill continued to drink endlessly. She gave up on him ever finding work again and instead worked endlessly supporting her family. Then she would come home and clean the house, cook dinner, take care of the kids. And all the while Bill would sit on the couch and drink.
This was the life Melissa had resigned herself to living day in and day out.
Since there isn't much about her, I will just provide you with her history!
2000 years ago, the Dark Knight Sparda sealed away the Prince of the Underworld, Mundus. For revenge, Mundus sent demons to kill his family, killing his wife Eva and splitting Vergil and Dante apart. Mind you, this took him almost 1090 years to do so, great tracking skills on Mundus' part. While Vergil ended up getting brainwashed by Mundus and to serve in his army as Nelo Angelo, Dante lived to become a demon mercenary. This caused Mundus to actually be creative in his means to kill Dante, so he decided to create a demon that looked exactly like his mother and dress her up in leather corsets and give her extra big boobs.
So, one day Trish showed up at Dante's office asking whether he was the same Dante who was the Son of Sparda, who had lost a mother and a brother to demons. When Dante asks how she knows this, she doesn't reply and instead just ends up grabbing his sword and impales him with a bolt of lightning. As if she didn't think that was enough to kill him, she throws a motorcycle at him as well. Dante uses his demon powers and stalls the bike from hitting him and instead shoots it and explodes, sending her backwards.
When Dante approaches her, demanding who she is, she takes off her sunglasses and its' revealed that she looks exactly like Eva, Dante's mother. She tells him of Mallet Island and leads him there. Dante is oblivious to the real reason why he's there, or what her intentions are, but he finds himself facing Nelo Angelo several times before he finally kills him, and finds out that it's his twin brother.
It's then when Trish reveals her true self, after being told to do so by Mundus. She shocks him, and belittles him for his stupidity. While she's laughing at Dante, a rock gets loose and almost crushes Trish. Dante moves to save her, and this is when her resolve breaks. He saved her, despite all she did to him. He continues to explain how she looks like his mother, and how she was kind –but Trish? Trish is a soulless abomination and he leaves her at that.
Mundus punishes her for failing, and uses her against Dante. He shows her, with her arms crucified and unconscious. Dante saves her yet again—and goes to fight Mundus. After the battle, Mundus tries to get Dante in the back, and Trish redeems herself by throwing herself in front of him and dying. Dante says the infamous, "I WANTED TO BE THE ONE TO FILL YOUR DARK SOUL WITH LIGHT"
In the game, later on, Trish comes back to life, and after she and Dante embrace, she becomes to be his partner. She leaves after a year or so with Dante to work solo, and that's when she meets Lady. They were pitted against each other by a demon that Trish was hunted. The relationship is strained, but they pick on Dante together.
She returns as his partner in the fourth game when Lady gives them work to do on the island of Fortuna. Trish goes before Dante, disguising herself as a woman named Gloria and worked her way up the Order. She works behind the scenes, gathering information. When Dante finally does arrive on the island, she's already taken care of a lot of demons. After a brief interlude with Nero, Gloria reveals herself to Dante. Dante, in turn recognizing his partner laughs, telling her that: "That look suits you".
In which Trish replies, "What can I say? I dress to impress!"
As the game progresses, Trish seems to be dictating the "plan" (read: yelling at Dante not to go and fuck things up). This is when she enters the game.
History:X-23 is not human. Not by a long shot.
Laura’s story began with a Facility, one that wanted to clone Weapon X (Wolverine) and make the clone perfect where Logan failed. It was a mostly personal experiment for lead scientist Alexander Rice whose father died when Weapon X escaped in the past. So Rice carried on his father’s project, but to create a clone of Weapon X they needed someone who understood genes and would be able to replicate Wovlerine’s DNA.
Enter Dr. Sarah Kinney. Cutting herself off from the outside world, Kinney helped Rice try to replicate Logan’s DNA. Every attempt, though, ended with a failed Y-chromosome. Kinney decided to change tactics, then. She replicated the working X-chromosome to create a female clone of Wolverine that worked. Rice and Kinney’s boss, Sutter, okayed the project and pushed it forward despite Rice’s outrage at the sudden change.
Kinney was made to carry the clone in her womb to full term. She gave birth to a baby girl labeled X-23, who was not allowed to be treated like a child from birth. Instead she was raised a weapon, trained to be a weapon. She was kept in a cell with no bed or toys or anything, she was trained by a master martial artist, she was tortured to create a trigger scent, she was forced to endure things no human should endure. But this went outside the realm of human rights, because X-23 was a clone. Not a human.
Despite the rule against treating her like a child X-23’s sensei and mother both tried to treat her like a child when they could. It didn’t undo the training X-23 had been given, but it was something all the same. That didn’t stop Rice from treating her like a tool, though.
Rice subjected X-23 to radiation poisoning in hopes of awakening her healing factor faster. When it worked she was strapped to a lab table and her claws extracted. She was forced to endure the reshaping of her claws, two in both hands and one in each foot, and the bonding process of the adamantium metal to her claws without anesthesia.
Then they tested her in two ways. The first with a trigger scent. They punished the teacher that treated her like a child by marking him with the scent and making X-23 go into a black rage and kill him. Then they punished X-23 with a woman who invulnerable skin who beat and tortured X-23 when she misbehaved. Her handler, Kimura.
The second test was an ad, though. She publicly killed officials so that Sutter could sell her as a weapon. She killed everyone she was told to and always made it to the rendezvous points in the time limits given. She was spectacular.
Kinney tried to treat X-23 like her child. But she realized she used her too when she took X-23 from the Facility without permission to save her niece Megan who’d gone missing. X-23 saved the girl and Kinney was likely to lose her job. Until Rice had X-23 kill Sutter so that Rice could inherit the Facility. Somehow X-23 let Kinney know what had happened with a picture of the Sutter family and the surviving child. The child X-23 was supposed to kill.
Kinney knew then to get X-23 out. She gave X-23 the last mission of destroying the Facility, which X-23 followed. Killing Rice and several clone embryos before destroying the Facility. But when X-23 went to meet her mother to run off together the scent hung heavy on Kinney from Rice putting it on her and X-23 slaughtered her mother.
